hands free problem - Touch Cruise General

I have an intergrated hands free kit that was used for my older HTC phone that just happens to fit this phone too, so I used it for a bout 8 mohts with no problems, but the sound was very poor so i ended up getting a plug in bluetooth one with a mic and speaker. Tghis was fine and the sound was okay and the in built kit charged the phone so all was well. The satnave instructions even came throught he plug in speaker so great.
Now when I plug in the phone it comes up with the stereo headset symbol and the plug in mic doesn't work. When I unplug formthe car kit the bluetooth works great.
Any thoughts

Microphone issue with headphone adapter

Hello all. I got my TP two days ago and I love it. Problem is, I have a 3.5 mm headphone adapter w/ charging USB on it and no one can hear me when it is plugged in. I use this to listen to my music to/from work in my car (my car stereo has a Aux-In). I have a dashboard mount that I put the TP in to keep it steady. When I answer a call, obviously I can hear them, but they can't hear me. However, this used to work when I had the Vogue...Instant speaker phone. This would be such a pain if HTC decided to somehow disable the phone microphone with this adapter plugged in.
Any suggestions?
I've got the same problem. Is it possible to ensure mobile calls go thru bluetooth?

3.5mm Jack vs HTC plug

given that the sprint has a 3.5mm jack for earphones, does the standard htc plug (where you charge / sync) also have a connection to listen to music? and if yes, does that then mean that we can plug in 2 sets of earphones? one on the 3.5mm and one on the htc mini- usb jack? i don't have standard htc headsets and i'm tempted to buy a set just to check...
cheers
I was able to test this with my headphones from my old Mogul and yes, it does work with both headphones connected at the same time -- audio from both.
HTH
thanks mate! now i can go ahead and buy a set. it actually provides a good alternative to continuous plugging and unplugging from the 3.5 jack. there is also bluetooth but the mini-usb gives me another option for tunez.
cheers
I got curious and tried it.
Can't figure out why you'd need it, but it works on my usc tp2

thanks mate, just tried it and it works fine as well. as to where i would use it:
1) gives me an alternative to constantly plug into the 3.5mm jack. ages ago i read that the plug connections eventually wear out. not sure about statistics and all though for the tp2. but a mate of mine did return his 6-month old unit for this reason. claims that one day the sounds were all gone. only by plugging in his headphones did he hear anything. he sent it back for replacement and the diagnosis showed that the plug connections were worn out. well in all fairness he did listen to his tunez 2 times a day...that meant plugging in and out twice a day as well. seems the phone was "stuck" in headset mode.
2) i use an i-tech bluetooth set of which i can plug in my noise cancellers. if the battery ran out, i can then plug into the 3.5mm. or, i recently got a mini-usb to 3.55mm headset converter. again, good alternative to constantly plugging into the 3.5 jack
3) my wife =) on a recent trip to canada...of which took ages...we shared the headset plugged into the 3.5 jack. by plugging into the mini-usb, that way we can both have our own headsets at the same time. quite weird to have one ear listening to tunez while the other being bombarded by sounds from the plane =)
cheers mate
Sorry, I did not see the previous replies ...
TP2 uses USB-B for charging and syncing. This USB-B has audio out as well as video out. I don't know if one takes priority over the other (USB-B audio or 3.5mm audio out), or if both can be used together.
Last week I ordered a USB-B cable to output video/audio to external monitor & speakers (watch movies externally) via RCA jacks (Right/Left/Video).
Why not just use a 3.5mm audio splitter jack to get dual out audio? (personally, I'd rather put wear & tear on a 3.5mm audio jack than a mini-USB jack ...). Seems a 3.5mm splitter would be simple clean output method. Additionally, you could use BT-Audio paired possibly to more than one device headset for dual audio out ...?

No Sound!

Yesterday I had my phone connected to my car stereo through the headphone jack. I was using Pandora then got a phone call, I unplugged the cable and NO SOUND! None from the ear piece or the external speaker. The person on the other end could hear me, but i could not hear them, tried speaker phone on and off. I rebooted the phone twice, and pulled the battery also. I did get sound back after I plugged the cable back in and removed it again and everything worked fine. Just wondering if anybody else has had something like this happen.

[Q] [SOLVED] G2X doesn't use internal mic with headphones plugged in

SOLVED: It was the cable.
Searching around, this seems to be a common problem with a variety of phones, some it works, some don't. My old G1 worked flawlessly in this manner.
Whenever I have a pair of headphones or my auxiliary cable for my car plugged in, the internal mic doesn't work when I receive a call. This sucks, because if I'm listening to music in my car and get a call, I have to remove the phone from the window mount and unplug the cable while driving down the road, or fiddle around with the power button to switch the phone to speaker mode (screen goes black after answering a call with the cable plugged in).
Is there a solution for this other than spending $180 on a bluetooth integration kit for my car (was looking at the Parrot MKi9000 or KlaT7)? I'm a little scared of this route considering the problems people have been having with A2DP on Gingerbread. I'm hoping the official Gingerbread release (if it EVER releases) will fix the A2DP and/or this issue. I am running Froyo right now, but am eagerly anticipating the official Gingerbread release.
Thoughts?
That does not match my experience with the stock ROM. I listen to Pandora in my car via an FM transmitter that is plugged into my earphone jack, and I receive calls all the time without having to go into speakerphone mode: the caller's voice comes through the car loudspeakers, and they hear me just fine. I just ran an experiment with a pair of earphones (no microphone) plugged in and called myself from my landline and I definitely heard it loud and clear over the landline phone when I blew into the microphone hole in the bottom of the G2x.
That definitely is odd. The phone is rooted along with faux's kernel, but I have the stock ROM. When I have the cable plugged in no one hears me on the other side, and voice dialing doesn't work either. Is your G2x all stock?

Yes, completely stock and unrooted.
Have you tried it with a different cable or with plain vanilla earphones?
No I haven't tried a different one yet. I'll try that when I get home tonight. Thanks for your input!

My guess is its the cable. Probably something with the connector is tricking the phone into thinking it has a microphone built in, just like when you plug in a headset it mutes your handset mic.
You are both correct. Just tried a different cable and it works great.
The cable I was using was the one included with the T-Mobile Window Mount Kit. I was using it because I have the Speck case and the original one I bought from MonoPrice.com was too thick to fit through the hole. The T-Mobile cable was skinnier and just barely fit. I took the phone out of the case and tried the one I bought from MonoPrice and it worked perfectly.
Thanks for the help!
Now I need to decide whether or not to bore out the hole larger on a $30 case. As most reviews have stated, it does scratch very easily and is very difficult to get the phone out. Anyone know of any other cases that have a larger diameter hole for the headphone out?

Headphone jack

The headphones was working normally this morning. Later i tried to play music but the cellphone it wasn't detecting the headphones (original htc headphones). I plugged another headphones and worked normally, i plugged my htc headphones into my laptop and also worked normally. The only way that the headphones work is if i plug but not completely.
