No Sound! - Captivate General

Yesterday I had my phone connected to my car stereo through the headphone jack. I was using Pandora then got a phone call, I unplugged the cable and NO SOUND! None from the ear piece or the external speaker. The person on the other end could hear me, but i could not hear them, tried speaker phone on and off. I rebooted the phone twice, and pulled the battery also. I did get sound back after I plugged the cable back in and removed it again and everything worked fine. Just wondering if anybody else has had something like this happen.

Jack Connector

Hi Guys,
I just repaired my tornado, but I broke off my jack plug. I repaired it, but now the phone thinks there's a headphone plugged in (while it's not). Is there a way to force WM to play sound over the speakers instead of the jack connection?
I'm sure the speaker works (when I call myself with a landline, the ringtone goes over the speaker).

why don't you completely remove the jack plug? since you already broke it, I don't see a reason to keep it inside the phone. maybe this fixes the phone's mind.
I just did that. Without the jack plug, the problem is still the same.
I think this is very strange, because there is totally no possibility that the phone can recognize there's an headset plugged in. Maybe the plug has a little switch in it?

Microphone issue with headphone adapter

Hello all. I got my TP two days ago and I love it. Problem is, I have a 3.5 mm headphone adapter w/ charging USB on it and no one can hear me when it is plugged in. I use this to listen to my music to/from work in my car (my car stereo has a Aux-In). I have a dashboard mount that I put the TP in to keep it steady. When I answer a call, obviously I can hear them, but they can't hear me. However, this used to work when I had the Vogue...Instant speaker phone. This would be such a pain if HTC decided to somehow disable the phone microphone with this adapter plugged in.
Any suggestions?
I've got the same problem. Is it possible to ensure mobile calls go thru bluetooth?

[Q] 3.5mm jack problem? Doesnt Detect Headset but works..

About a Week ago My headphone jack just randomly stopped detecting when I had my headphones plugged in. I Tried all kinds of different headphones and ear buds. Nothing works and sound just keeps coming out from the speakers. I then downloaded Toggle Headset 2 from market and I can hear sound from my headphones again! BUT on the top where its supposed to show you that headphones are plugged in, it doesnt. Also changing Equalizer setting with DPS Manager doesnt work because it doesnt know theirs headphones plugged in so things get annoying. I Tried different Roms and Same Thing. So is my jack pretty much effed? or is their hope?
Edit: To Clear things up more, YES I do get sound with Toggle App but Phone still doesnt know headphones are plugged in. Cant Change EQ setting to my liking because of this. >,<
its possible the jack itself could have gotten damaged somehow and not making proper contact with the headphones. try putting some electrical grease(like those $0.99 spark plug grease pouches they sell at auto parts stores). if it then works with that, that means you'll either have to keep using that stuff or get the jack replaced.

Phone headphone jack problems

When I have a headphone plugged in, I can hear the songs, however the volume randomly fluctuates between quiet and loud on the left side. However after testing the pair of Sony Piiq's I own, I have come to the conclusion that the headphones perform perfectly fine. Thus leaving the phone as an issue. I was wondering if this was a software or hardware problem. If so is there an easy way to replace the audio jack?
Hardware issue. I have the same problem. The input jack where you would plug in a 3.5mm headphone cable tends to make the sound go quiet when the cord is pushed one direction. Quite annoying at times if the cord gets pushed alot. When I say cord i mean the male end of the cable that you physically plug in. For some Roms, I think mostly HTC. This problem with the input jack will cause the phone to think its using voice command it will trigger that or it will call and hang up on the last call you had. Weird huh. I've noticed this for some time now and I just got use to it. If your phone is under warranty, have it sent back and get it fixed from the manufacturer.

Earphone issues

So earlier today, I plugged in some old earbuds into my 2 day old GS7, and the sound kept coming out of the main speaker. Tried plugging it out and in again, didn't work. Took the bundled earbuds out of the box and plugged in, finally worked. So then I watched a video before pulling it out, at which point no sound came out of the main speaker, and increasing the media volume beyond 60% would cause the slider to change to red, which only happens when the phone thinks earbuds are plugged in. This always happens, after repeated tries, so should I take it to Samsung?
