Hi guys,
I believe most of you guys do alot of installing of application on your PPC and then uninstalling it to upgrade or just sick and tired of the application already.
I am just wondering, in PC, if you didn't uninstall properly.. some files are still in the PC and especially in the registry.
Does this happen in a PPC ?
If so, what programs are there to totally remove it leaving no trials ?
On PC i use tuneup utilities...

I believe the program you are looking for is FastCleanup. Use the search function and you should find some more information on it.

Try any of these:

I use MemMaid and have not had any problems. Although you have to pay for these apps, it's worth it for me.

Hey all, just recently purchased my tmo mda. Did some minor tweaks and it's running great. Just one question though. I recently installed wifi companion for the test trial. It worked really well, but decided to wait on the purchase and uninstalled the prog. Weird thing is, the wifi companion still works after the uninstall... Is there a way to clean uninstall? I did it through remove prog in settings.
Thnx

Hello chormda.
Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately 'remove programs' is the only official way to uninstall something on a PPC. There are several utilities that do a better job but they need to be installed before you install the program so they can monitor the installation and record the changes.
Was wifi companion running when you tried to uninstall it? That might have prevented the system from deleting some files.
To my knowledge you now have two choices:
1. Manually fined all files still on the device and delete them (they could be under windows, windows\startup, or in program files\AppName.
You should also get a registry editor, search for any keys containing the app name and delete them.
2. Never tried it but it should work: reinstall the app, make sure its not running then uninstall again. If the files were not deleted because they were in use the first time this should solve the problem.
There is a third option but its quite inconvenient: Back up your data and hard reset the device. Its guaranteed to get reed of everything.
Good luck!
hello everyone, long time member of howardforums and just joined xda and find some very usefull info, thank you all. i ran into a small problem last night. i have a tilt , not flashed but i have installed the htc home screen and everything worked great. last night i tryed to install the touchflo program found in a few places in this forum and it didn't work but thats when the interesting stuff happen....after deleting all touchflo cab files and restarting the tilt every time at startup it gives me a warning " FTouchFlo.exe cannot be open, its either not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components can not be found. try reinstalling or restoring file." ????? and now the icon that used to be under the clock for favorite people that would send me their pics so i can just one touch dial is GONE? tryed installing the cab for the htc homescreen again but the same....there is a music short cut that lets me launch the music player that wasn't there before? i downloaded the htc home plugin customisor and even when i set for 6 icons on the bottom of the clock it still just gives me 5?
at the end of the day i would like to have the touchflo program but its not a big deal if i dont, i would however really like to have the pic dialer back on my screen as its really convinient to dial my fav people with it.thanks in advance

Keys are in the registry. To access and change the registry you need a registry viewer/editor. There are many but for simple "everyday" use this is a good one:

Be careful though delete the wrong things and you'll end up needing a hard reset.

PHM downloads as a .MSI windows installer. So it will not install properly unless you have your device connected via active sync when you run the downloaded file. So connect your device via usb cable. Let active sync connect and update. Then while still connected run the installer download. During the process a message will pop up on your device. If a choice is offered it will be ok to install to storage card if you have one.
Cheers for now.

hope you can help me
I don't know of any such programs for Windows Mobile, and I'm always leary of those sorts of programs available for PCs.
Generally, your best options are to parse through the directories and manually remove what shouldn't be there (time-consuming and risky) or to do a hard-reset and reinstall only the programs you need. Either way make a backup first.
there is a program called SKTools lite which is free for download, it can clean your sistem from junk files, bad shortcuts, invalid registry entries and so on...
it works on tornado just perfect
ps. don't ask for link noob, learn using google
do you now an other softwares that is good and helpfull
afaik there is no other soft like this

googd suggestion.
Hi and thanks for tip. i have already seen this, but its browsing the wrong way.. I want to browse the COMPUTER, not my phone
The next best thing I can think of is if you purchase an application from the Resco Software company. Resco Explorer will allow you to map your network drive on your device. It includes a host of other features that the stock explorer doesn't which will make file management much easier. I highly recommend it to everyone.

i got the soultion..
the good old Total commander finally worked, and now i can browse my server.. nice. thanks for all help guys.
Hi there, I just have a quick question, if anybody could help me with this I'd be ever so grateful!
I was given a laptop today by somebody on Portland's Craigslist he gave it to me out of the kindness of his heart, wanted nothing in return, and to me that's not very common so I'm shocked and I Hate that I am, but I'm a little weary of it as well. How can I tell if this wonderful person possibly put some kind of hidden program or files or whatever to spy on me in any way? Whether it be for creepy reasons, monetary gain, or just monitoring in general, where would I look for files, or programs that could be a threat? Is there anyway to actually have these programs running and i not know about it? How can I be sure that he has no ties, no connection, nothing to do with this laptop anymore? Even remotely.....?
I need to be sure that my kids are gonna be safe using this laptop, how can I tell if there is Any invasion to our privacy?
I appreciate Any and All help I can get, I do know a little bit about this stuff but not nearly enough to be comfortable using it,
Thank you in advance
Which operating system is installed? The easiest way to be sure is just to format the hard drive and reload Windows...if Windows 10 is installed you can reset it quite easily through settings but if it's older then you'll need a disk or the installation files. If there's any sort of spy software installed it probably won't be obvious or show up as a program anyways.
I recommend a clean install of Windows 10 too. If that's not possible install Malwarebytes and ESET NOD32 antivirus free trial. Update both and do a full deep scan using both programs.
If it has malware or antivirus software already installed, uninstall it and get fresh versions above software. He may have white listed any malware/spyware he installed so when it scans, it won't show up in the detected list.
Also, I recommend a good firewall too. Personally, the built in Windows firewall lacks, but I'm a control freak.
