hi have instaled files and uninstalled many times and other sings and i thin after doing things like that i get unnecessary files every ware and i searshed in google but cant find a software like that can someone help me if you can
hope you can help me
I don't know of any such programs for Windows Mobile, and I'm always leary of those sorts of programs available for PCs.
Generally, your best options are to parse through the directories and manually remove what shouldn't be there (time-consuming and risky) or to do a hard-reset and reinstall only the programs you need. Either way make a backup first.
there is a program called SKTools lite which is free for download, it can clean your sistem from junk files, bad shortcuts, invalid registry entries and so on...
it works on tornado just perfect
ps. don't ask for link noob, learn using google
do you now an other softwares that is good and helpfull
afaik there is no other soft like this

Hi there!
Everybody knows that the Windows 2003 Phone Edition has a lot of junk files (ex: help files, unnecessary programs like Jawbreaker, Solitarie etc., etc., etc.) which eats a lot of free memory, and cannot be deleted because it is in the ROM.
Last night I've had an idea: Is there any way to extract the WIN CE ROM on my computer, edit the things that I want, for example delete that help files, delete the programs that I don't need, and the extract back the edited ROM, and then install it to the Magician. And if we can do this, we can have a lot of free space
So my question is: Is there any Rom Editor, wich can do this?
And another: If there is, and we can do this, may performance improves? Because we get free space in the ROM, not in the RAM, so we can't use the free space. But can the Windows use that free space, if it's not in the RAM?
Waiting for replies.....
I like to travel with you, cause I want to add apps to my rom & maybe we can even increase the BIG Storage by shrinking the CE part. Unsure when I'll start, haven't much spare time left for this journey :-(

Those files don't "eat up free memory" since they are located in the system ROM, which has nothing to do with Extended_ROM, Storage or even the RAM-Disk.
I know, though having by example the latest camera in rom, saves >500KB in RAM/Storage
Just an example.

i guess the only way would be to build your own CE image... I worked with Windows CE 4.1 a little while back. its pretty easy to build your own "platform" but you need all of the device drivers, and i doubt they are all standard.
i saw a windows ce cookbook somewehere but cant remember the url...
For the moment I would be pleased just to mount the CE as a fat-image. I like to add some apps & other stuff to it & delete some minor things like themes & sounds which I don't use.
This way I do save ram :!:

Does anyone know of any apps for mobile devices that perform some of the same functions as the above apps for PCs?
Basically what I am thinking of is somethign that goes thorugh and deletes junk in temp files, unused favorites, repairs registry errors etc in a fairly automated way.
Has anyone heard of such a beast? I cannot seem to find anything like this.
MemMaid is a tool that scans and detects all the files and registry entries that consume your memory and removes them leaving your Pocket PC's memory clean like never before. The only tool you will ever need to clean and manage your Pocket PC's memory.

FastCleanup for Pocket PC 1.3 (freeware)
FastCleanup is a very simply tool to cleanup all the temporary and cached files, delete unused files and free up space on your Pocket PC.

Thanks much. Exactly what I was looking for. Have a great day.
The problem I'm having is that when I go to settings > system > remove programs, it only lists the first 11 programs that I've installed myself, so I cant see / remove newer programs since they are not listed there.
The programs (all cab files) were installed through usb via active sync.
Is there a tweak or a registry setting that can be used to keep that program list updated and show every program installed.
If not, how can I uninstall a program completely from within my phone itself ?
I'm trying to avoid uninstalls through active sync.
I wish I had an answer for you. I have been looking for an Installation Monitor, Registry Monitor, Filesystem Monitor tool for a long time now but I don't think there is one out there. What an Installation Monitor essentially would do is monitor any cab that you install and create a log of what that cab added/modified. That way, when you come to uninstall it you could perform a FULL uninstall and it would truely bring your device back to what it was before you installed the cab.
There are many of these types of tools for Windows XP/Vista but I haven't seen anything for WM6. Also there may be some limitations as these installation logs could be quite long. Regular Windows software such as "Advanced Uninstaller Pro" and they seem to do a good job.
I wish there was one for WM6 because everytime I install something and don't like it and remove it, it seems to leave hundreds of files lying around. I hate that...
The closest thing I have seen to an uninstaller program that goes beyond the standard Windows uninstaller is SKTools. It has an option to perform a "deep scan" for installed programs and it attempts to remove all files that that cab added and revert all registry keys back to their original state. I am still testing it out on Windows Mobile Emulator. It looks like if the original cab didn't create an installation log, WM doesn't know it got installed.
I just experienced this for the first time myself, although I have about 20 programs in my remove programs list. Opera 8.65 doesn't show up in the list of installed programs, even though it is there and still works. I was trying to uninstall it from main memory and try it on the storage card but I guess I'll have to hard reset to really get rid of it. Any other ideas?
I have noticed that over certain period the performance of my Kaiser degrades. Considering that it works great even after I install additional software and configure it to sync with exchange 2007, over time it start to act flaky. Could somebody tell me what causes this and how to resolve it?
My guess is it has to do with temporary and cache file used by different applications and os. If so, what should I be getting rid of?
Thanks in advance

u need to use some "cleaning tools" like sktools or memmaid. There are options to clear some files(temp. internet, ...) and to free up your ram. Thats the main problem, your ram memory is decreasing over time and the phone is acting slover. To make it quicker is to make softreset after some time or use this tools and free up your ram.
You also can use some tools (apps) which will automatically and periodically do the soft-reset for you,
e.g. during the night your device is unused etc...
You can use tools, I like Sk Tools as it is the most comprehensive tool period. But there are many things you can do manually as well.
Delete the files in: \Application Data\Volatile, also in: \Windows\Profiles\Guest\Cookies; History; & Temporary Internet Files; as well as files in \temp.

I have to agree with GSLEON3. SKtools was by far the best piece of software I have purchased for my kaiser. It allows easy cleaning, sip changes, today changes, registry editor, and nearly any tool or tweak you can think of.
I suggest you check out their trial and see what you think.
Good morning to you all.
Im sorry if this has been mentioned before, but im hoping that some one can help and point me in the right direction.
Does any one have or know of a programme for the HD2 that will get rid of Programme Names in the remove applications settings.
I have a couple of names that refuse to remove no matter what i do, Ive tried installing and then reunistalling the programme, but the programme names still stay there.
I have manual deleted the programmes but they are still listed in the remove applications.
If any one can help i will be greatful.
Thanks in advance.
You need to try something like Pocket Mechanic or SK Tools.... I don't know of a freeware version. I use SK Tools cleans out the bad un-installs.
