As always the following rules apply with all of my roms except for the game part since the lite version do not include them..
====================================
Goals
Create a rom that will offer the following to end users.
Faster
Any body can build a rom faster than the stock one, but will it be more stable?
Looks slick
A phone that will have an interface your proud to show off to your family and friends.
Storage
Extra storage space in case you were not able to buy a sd card.
Easy to use
Comes with apps already install so people do not have to waste too much time downloading extra apps and etc.
Stable
A rom that you will not have to soft reset daily. Fixing common issues found with the original rom.
Fun
A rom with extra games so when your stuck some where and there is nothing to do, you can always play games.
====================================
There will be two versions:
Open Touch v4.0 UC
This one will be like the lite but with the following options.
1. UC added but with a twist, meaning it will not auto load, you will have the option to run it yourself.
2. Open Touch Cab Center = I'm going to include some commanly used cabs with the rom, you choose which ones you want and need.
3. Voice speed dial and voice command have been added and working.
Specs:
6MB Pagepool
45MB+ Storage and 26MB+ Programs - Due to Voice command
Open Touch v4.0 Biggy

Does this mean we can add any cab we want to the rom or we can only choose what cabs you have included? Keep up the good work.
Looking good. You may want to include the new radio in this rom.

I've included commanly used cabs with this rom. You will simply go to Cabs Center and click to install the ones you need or want.
There will also be another option within the Cab Center for you to install cabs from your sd card.

I'm currently working on adding more cabs to the rom.
Great!! I am done with finals, now have time to play!!
i know...
its been asked but i just read a thread and it confused me, i have the 3.0 biggy on my device and used USPL for the rom, but now am i goin to need to need HardSPL to install this new rom since its not clean 'out of the box'...i read tht as long as ur IPL and SPL were above 4.0 then u can still use USPL to install...or am i completly wrong?

That's wrong information...
I don't like to force people to use HARD-SPL unless they want to.
I mean I could include it as a package and have people just become HARD-SPL without knowing, but that would be the wrong thing to do.
I know that the current installation process is kind of old but it's made for folks that do not wish to have their devices become HARD-SPL.

Awesome, thanks for your quick response and great work, cant wait...
I am a little confused.
so if i understand correctly.
in UC version after the install it will give us option which cabs to install right?
if that is the case isn't that going to affect the size of the installed rom and space after install is done

You are correct, if you notice the program and storage space is less than the v3.0 lite, but not much..
There are two options, one is to install cabs already included in the rom, which will reduce some of the space.
Two install cabs from your own sd card to your sd card which will not effect the ram size.
In the original UC, you have to have your config file and cabs already on your sd card before flashing the rom. Since it will auto install after the flashing has completed. I've made it where you can use the UC option when your ready.
Looks good, i'm excited! i've been waiting to try and fix my phone till 4.0 was released.
Is there any way to have the theme the same color as the backround? It matches my wing PERFECTLY. I've been searching around for a navy blue-ish theme with no luck. Even if you can just provide a cab to have that nstead of the black htc theme would be great.

No,
I'm going to release the beta version only to the beta team tomorrow for testing. This takes a day or two depending on how many issues come up.
Once everything looks good I will then release it.
Regards,
will bbconnect work with this rom?

I like that - so does this mean no more 5 - 7 hours installation process for me? That's about how long it takes for me to install from start to finish after flashing. I like the lite and slimeline versions btw.
i am waiting eagerly for this ROM.. if you are including voice speed dial, can you please make sure that registry entries and the voice command files are included ? secondly if possible can you please take care of the home screen not aligning correctly when switching from landscape to portrait

Memory Stats (after soft reset) - see screen shot above
Installation:
I have included the flashing utility from Hybrid Kitchen. If you go to the RUU folder and open ROMUpdateUtility it will automatically load up my RUU_Signed.nbh and flash it for you. This utility is not for unlocking and you must have your device unlocked ahead of time (see link below). Ignore warning about flashing only with a white screen (assuming you have a USPL)
For a quicker way to flash your device, rename the RUU_Signed.nbh to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a FAT32 formated SD card. Assuming your device is unlocked USPL (3.07 or higher) you will be given the option to flash directly from the SD card in 1/10 the time it takes to flash over USB.
To unlock your device see this thread for SPL unlocking...

Auto_Scroll_fix.cab was added for use with version 2, I will leave the attachment for anyone else who wants to use it.
Since I no longer own my HTC Touch I thought I would upload my source files so that anyone who wants to can rebuild/modify
it any way they want. Enjoy!

Congrats on your first ROM!
keep up the good work trueg. i m sure you wud soon be aspired to release custom roms. and i hope so
now rogers user can say...ROGERS rock!!
hehe
Hey buddy,
Good job! Since you took out the OEMOPERATORS directory, you should probably include the Rogers.CAB that is floating around. It contains all the customization for the network. You can convert that to an OEM or include it as an attachment.
BTW You can credit ayyu3m (not me) for most of the porting tips
Actually, with this release the OEM directory was left as is (Rogers customizations and all). At one point I mentioned to you that I had tried it without the OEMOPERATORS folder but at that point I was just trying to figure out what different changes would do.
After I put it back in, I set out to find a WM 6.1 SYS. I tried the different SYS packages from the NIKE upgrading folder, but they all had things removed (I found out later that they can be downloaded separately). So I started looking for an official release that would be complete and came across the official upgrade from AT&T for the Tilt. Porting it was nice and easy with Hybrid Kitchen. =)
Hey guys,
I installed this rom after doing the CID unlock, and it went thru with no issues whatsoever. Ran for about 5mins or so flawlessly with 6.1, then it started this rebooting loop...where it will reboot every about 5mins. I've done hard resets and whatnot and the issue is still there. any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
DiSkO

trueg,
Which SYS did you use? I wonder if it is related to that ActiveSync spontaneous restart issue (every 5 minutes). Try using the Opal's 19971 SYS - that one is very stable in my opinion so far.
what do you mean by SYS? and where do i get this 19971 SYS?

It was actually directed at the creator; it's cooking-talk
I used the SYS from the official AT&T Tilt 6.1 release. I have not had any resets on my device, but I almost never use ActiveSync (My system is Linux based).
I imagine the Opal SYS is newer than the AT&T one, so I will gladly give it a shot. Does it include Microsoft Voice Command by chance? I needed to do a minor update anyway, the OEM folder has a registry entry that sets the default zoom in IE to 'larger' instead of 'normal'. Probably because it was meant for the older IE.
I guess I should add that I use the following IPL/SPL...
IPL: 2.27.0002
SPL: 2.28.0000
When I do run ActiveSync, it is within Windows XP.
Updated thread with new edition. =)
What's the difference between WWE and Canadian ?
Good work trueg, I'll try it out as soon as I finish using up both my Elfins for testing my own ROMs ;-)
Grant, there's a newer version of Jbed around - 20080610_2_1. The Blackstone version is only 20080418_2_1.

It's not really a language difference. I added a few things specifically for Rogers/Fido customers, set the default region to English (Canada) and added only Canadian Cities as the default for the Weather Widget. I actually just changed the title so that it's less confusing.

Ya, I noticed that it was a bit older when I dumped it. I have 20080610 on my computer but I figured if it is good enough for Blackstone, it should be fine.
I suppose I can upgrade it if anyone really wants it.

Don't bother updating.. if it works then it's fine. Otherwise you'll get into the continuous loop of updating your ROM everytime there's a newer software, newer SYS, newer XIP.. and then it becomes a full-time job

Don't I know it!
I could have went with a newer SYS and XIP and fixed any bugs, but since this was an official release I'm hoping that it has a fair amount of testing. I need to get off the cooking train; it has taken over way too much of my life. I'm hoping that this build will keep me happy for a while (or at least require a minimal amount of fixes).

WOW you are fast. Great work! Out of curiosity (since what you do is simply pure magic to me), how difficult is it to make the rom work on the CDMA Ozone once you have the GSM one?
What technically speaking makes the roms incompatible?

There are lots of variations between the Cedar and the Maple. But, as you know, it's all doable. Still trying to save up enough doe to grab me an Ozone. Once I do, it'll be a matter of days till you guys get a fresh digital meal... If anyone has a spare one laying around... By all means, send it my way... Thanks to all who have donated. Keep em coming. Almost there......
Well I dont really have much, but i I was able to scrounge around for a bit and send it over. Hopefully there are other people around with more dough than I that can help you get that ozone sooner than later.
Greate dude Thanks
Now what I need is a stock rom for S521 (keyboard with TAB key).
Just waiting for this so I can have my device back if something fails.
(I dumped my RAW files and post the links in the other thread)
and so it begins..
great job man!
I've flashed it... dude... it's beautiful!
The only problem 'til now is that the FN characters are not right.
If I press the FN + A, I should get '4', but I get '*', if I press FN + S, I get the '4' instead '5'.
Will set up mail etc trying to find any bug.
What is the 'Auto-lock' feature?
PS: using Snap as modem

hey cpimentel. I created some stock ROMS for just that reason. You still have to JumpSPL or HardSPL but they are here. I will build another using your raw files shortly...

Great!! Thanks. I'm using a Keylock program by Maniac. Much better than the HTC one, even has custom notifications for messages waiting, screen saver, etc. Turn it on in Settings, UI Tweaks. Configure it in Start Menu, Tools.
As for the keyboard, the default layout is for the US WWE SNAP/Maple/Dash3G. Go to Start Menu, Tools, run Keymap Config and select EU keymap. It will work!!
QuickGPS needs some love, have to see why it's not working... I think it's cause I used the package from Dash3G and not SNAP. I will check.

MghtyMax 1.9.1 "What a Feeling"
SIGNED VERSION NOW LIVE!!!!
THIS IS A CUPCAKE HERO ROM. AT PRESENT 1.9.1 IS STILL THE LATEST VERSION OF MGHTYMAX. IN MY OPINION, STILL THE FASTEST, MOST STABLE HERO ROM ON THE PLANET.
***NEWS***
I may be developing a "Legacy Edition" of MghtyMax, considering we are reaching the end of the road for the G1. It would essentially be 1.9.1 with minor tweeks, some graphical improvements, and some special goodies to celebrate life of a great phone. Kind of in the "feeling out interest" phase right now, so if this is something you would like to see, please respond. I'd also like to talk to some folks who are good with custom desktop wallpapers. Please contact me on Twitter if interested in working on this project.
Changelog:
1.9.1 - Added Flash support
1.9 Altered user.conf. Turned off Compache and went to straight linux-swap. Swappiness set at 60. This may be the FASTEST HERO ROM EVER.
Recommended linux-swap partition sizes:
G1: 128 MB Linux Swap
MT3G: 96 MB Linux Swap* (Not tested. If running laggy after rom settles try 128MB as well)
If you get the blurries on MT3G, use the blurries fix:
http://twistedumbrella.slackdev.com/Deport-1.0.zip
After the system settles, and everything is running nice and smoothly, shut down, reboot into recovery and flash this as a ROM. Don't wipe, don't remove partitions. Just flash the zip. Reboot, and no more blurries!
1.8:
*This IS Maxisma 1.8 with the following changes:
Brought back PEEP due to popular demand (as is in Maxisma's roms)
Include Backup for Root & Missed Calls apps, and a few added sounds.
Modded build.prop to allow use of T-Mo apps (My Account, My Faves)
1.7.1a:
Removed HeroLED. All LED's will work natively on MT3G, and on G1 all will work except *missed call notifications. Thanks to Maxisma's build.prop
*Included Anon's Missed Call. Allows for custom LED color and frequency for incoming/missed call notification, and missed call notification sounds. This app will be in your app draw, and it must be run and set up for missed call notification LEDs to work. MT3G users do not need to use this app.
Included Blackgin's "Backup for Root Users" (This version works with HERO rom's)
Added lots of sound files for Ringtones, Notifications, and Alarm.
This version has an edited build.prop so that the phone's model number displays as T-Mobile G1 for apps like T-Mobile's "My Account" Although this has not been tested on MT3G it should not cause any issues. Please report if there are and I will release a MT3G version of this rom.
Replaced boot sound and image files.
Removed HTC PEEP. (was causing problems for me, lots of FC)
Thanks go out to Maxisma of course for compiling the rom that I basically just tweeked a bit, and for allowing me to share it with all of you. Anon for his Missed Call app, Blackgin for "Backup for Root Users", HTCPedia and Rapidshare for hosting, everyone at XDA and the T-Mobile forums, JackCrackerMan for pointing me to the blurry fix, and of course all of you, the Android community at large.
***BEFORE INSTALLING PLEASE***
***THESE INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED TO THE LETTER OR MGHTYMAX WILL NOT WORK!!!***
-If using "Backup for Root" uninstall any heroled app you may be currently running before backing up.
-Before flashing this rom, WIPE PHONE/FACTORY DATA RESET, WIPE/REPARTITION EXT AND LINUX-SWAP in parted.(I recommend ext4 for best performance, 128MB Linux Swap for G1, 96 MB Linux Swap for MT3G)
-After repartition and upgrade of ext partition, exit parted and PULL BATTERY. Make sure device is not charging or hooked up to USB and put battery back in and boot to recovery.
-WIPE/FDR Phone AGAIN FOR SAFETY. Too many people having issues with remnants of old roms interfering with new ones. PLEASE follow this procedure exactly.
- Flash Rom.
-When the new rom boots and you get to the homescreen, allow some time for the apps2sd to catch up.
- IMPORTANT!!! Run Market. Accept the ToS. Exit Market.
- Run "Backup for root users" (also in app tray) if you ran it prior to flashing this rom, and restore your files.
- Wait. Wait. Wait. Sit and watch the apps pop up in the tray. Wait some more. Look, they're dancing! They keep moving! Wait. Wait. Wait. Grass growing? Wait. Wait Wait. Wait some more and when they finally stop moving around for good, close the app tray and reopen it. If it scrolls like butter, it's done. If it's laggy, wait, wait, wait. DO NOT RUN **ANYTHING** During this process!!! You may get FC's, load screens, and just may end up doing a wipe and reflash. Give it time. It will take a while, but you'll be glad when it's done.
- Run "Missed Calls" app in the app tray and set up your led notifications for missed/incoming calls.
Feedback/suggestions appreciated!
*As with any rom, you flash this at your own risk, neither I, Maxisma, these forums, your wireless carrier, or any being, living or dead in the known universe (except for you) will be held responsible should your damage or destroy your device in an attempt to flash/use this rom in any way.

Because of the memhack Maxisma is using in the rom, no it's not required since linux-swap isn't really used, but recommended for faster app loading in apps2sd.
Working Great for me so far!
No FC's at all on the Mytouch.
Only one FC i got so far was the one when you search for a Contact, but mighty is already aware of that.
Other than that no problems so far.
Using it on the G1 and it blazing fast and holy sh** the LEDS work amazing!
Way to go Maxisma and Mighty!
If I'm coming from Max 1.7.1 do I need to wipe before flashing on my mt3g?

Are you getting a boot loop? Hero->HTC->MghtyMax->Hero->HTC->MghtyMax- etc, etc?
Or are you stuck on the MghtyMax screen?

im sorry yes, its a boot loop

ok, let me tell you what steps i took before i flashed.
1.using Ra recovery. I wiped ext2 part
2. wiped/reset
3.repartioned fat/ext2/linux swap
4.upgraded to ext3
5.rebooted to g1 screen
6.pulled battery and removed sd card
7.copied rom to sd card
8.booted into recovery
9.wiped again
10.flashed rom
11.stuck in "might max" boot loop

As mentioned previously in the first post, in order for this rom to work on your phone, you need to follow the instructions I posted TO THE LETTER.
Yes you still need to partition your SD.
Read above to see what happens when you don't do exactly what is posted.
I have an extra 1GB class 2 or 4? SD card that I can use for this. And I want
to try it but I'm wondering.. is it good to be used as a daily driver? Is it as fast
or almost as fast as CM?

Minidoudou is available online! There is still work to do, but it is already fully functional and you can try it on to configure your own mod of CyanogenMod 6.1.0 for HTC Dream / Sapphire.
Try it on here: http://minidoudou.joelcogen.com
and let me know what you think!
Todo (in the order it will be done, probably)
- Connect to an external storage provider (sendspace)
- Make it pretty
- Fix IE UI issues
- Add system/data option, with a nice drag&drop
- Add advanced mode, with moving of any APK in the ROM
- Display "hand" cursor on draggable elements
- Check /system size
- Fix changes application order
- Add deprecation to APKs
- Users management for contributors
- Select field for mutually exclusive packages (kernel)
- Fix double upload issue
- Whatever you suggest below
There has already been some discussion about how much control to include, so here is a first poll: How much control would you like when using Minidoudou?
I'm not sure if it's the rom or my phone,
But I've used your rom, and ir worked great.
When I walked trough the city that evening
I was looking for wifi (without passwords) when I found one,
I tried to connect, but it only said, getting IP adress, connecting and again getting IP,...
Even on my home wifi I had this problem. So i did a full wipe and reinstalled the minimou Final version.
Can you please tell me if this is rom based or just bad luck with the wifi on my phone?
And you are doing a great job, I also tried smoki rom, but it had some lag on the UI.
It would be nice aswell if we could put custom icons (of the topbar) and custom battery Icon

Hi,
You're the first to report wifi problems, so I'll look into it.
As for the icons, it might be hard because that means customizing the theme, something I don't have a lot of luck with. I'm keeping it in mind, and once it is stable and has most of its functionnalities regarding packages, I'll look into it or for a contributor with theming experience.
Thanks for your feedback!

Wen you click on download you get the link like this

So when you save it, it's just a file, no zip file
So you have to put a dot in front of the zip yourself

Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
Hi
I have done a clean install of minimou final, and after it I did the install of
the minidoudou. But it seems to have an endless boot up
It's stuck on the Proximus logo for 15 minutes now.
I have the following things in my minidoudou:
Advanced Task Killer 1.9.3
Browser CM6.1.0-RC1
StopWatch & Timer 1.15
aNetShare (wireless tethering) 2.30
Twitter 1.0.5
XDA developers 1.3.2
Gapps MDPI MDD 2010.10.20
Facebook 1.4.0
Sapphire 32A kernel - Brian Crook Nightly 231
Barcode Scanner 3.5
LauncherPro 0.8.1.1
Email CM6.1.0-RC1
I have the same SPL, RADIO, HBOOT as you I only use another recovery
RA magic v1.7.0.1
Whats wrong on this ?
*EDIT*
I will try to do just a clean install of minidoudou, without extra apps
But i'm wondering, Do I need to install minimou final and than install the minidoudou?
OK I did a full wipe
and I installed the minidoudou,
this package:
Gapps MDPI MDD 2010.10.20
Sapphire 32A kernel - Brian Crook Nightly 231
LauncherPro 0.8.1.1
On the wizard, I had to connect to WIFI for the google account.
Well It found my wifi, typed in the password, but it was the same
Retrieving IP adress
remember
Connecting
and it keeps repeating.
I installed minimou Final again, cause I realy need WIFI.
I'll try again if it's fixed.

Hi again,
I just tried your config over a Minimou-final install (already with several of packages) and it seems to work.
It might be a LauncherPro problem, I remember it gave me trouble when building Minimou-final, so maybe flashing a non-upgraded Minimou with MDD causes the problem. Try fully upgrading your Minimou, then flashing MDD.
If it still doesn't work, the best solution is usually to do an 'adb logcat' (from the android sdk tools) to see the phone's log and look up the error message, or post the result here.
MDD is a separate project from Minimou, they're only link is me, so you don't need Minimou to flash, you can wipe from the recovery and then flash and it should work fine.
On the sidenote, in the future it would be easier if you just post your config name rather than the set of packages. It makes for shorter posts and it's easier to find (I compare the list to download your config).
Ok I did installed minimou final, and did the wizard thing,
Since launcher pro was expired I had to download the newest version.
When it was installed everything was working fine.
So I disabled wifi and let my phone forget my wifi settings.
After it I flashed MDD (Clean_without_Launcher(UPGRADE))
It took about 5-7 Minutes to boot,
I tried wifi, and it worked
I hope this info was helpfull for you.
Great! This LauncherPro problem is a real *****, I don't know why upgrading is such a problem.
The WiFi is stranger. I still have to look into it, I'll see if I can reproduce it.

OKi, thnx.
Maybe it's just your launcherpro apk?
cause when I installed minimou final, installed launcherpro from the maker his website, and upgraded to MDD (without extra apps (no launcher as well), it worked fine, when I did the same but with launcher in the MDD package it failed at the wifi connection.
Even a clean install of MDD with launcher (cause you need one) failed so.
NOt sure if it's the same with the AWD launcher.
Anyone happen to have problems with gps? 2 of my apps (Sygic and iGO) are crashing after moving to RC1. I don't blame minidoudou but just wanted to see if i'm the only one. I'm running bcrooks kernel.

Uhm, I didn't tried the GPS yet.
Do they crash when you open the app or when you are using it for a couple minutes?
Sygic freezes when i want to create a rather long (1k KM) route.. so i think it's Sygic's fault. It might not be compatible with 2.2.1. I'll try some other software as 'gps essentials' appears to be working fine.
On another note i cannot install brut's google maps... tried removing the original google maps, they're SapphireMaps package?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Well I tried Navigon and it worked fine, couldn't try Sygic's GPS cause it needed 3D acceleration.
You can't remove the original google maps indeed. they are in the package.
As for the brut's google maps, you should look over here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630887
try this one: maps4.6.0.4686-brut-renamed.apk
Same here, I only tried Google Navigation and it worked fine.
Regarding Maps, you can't remove them because they are in /system, but I'll add the option to install in /data to MDD soon. I remember having trouble updating it in the past, but I don't see why, because other /system packages can usually be updated just fine....
Hello, i tried to cook a rom yesterday using minidoudou but it still says "Pending" along with some others!
Also when i press on "x packages" to see what packages other roms include, i get an error with firefox 3.6.12. With chrome there is no such problem.
Thanks again for the great work.
I like this idea a lot. Kudos to the developer(s).
Can we add different devices? Per say the G1?

considering trying this rom out, but if I did and didn't like it, what would be the easiest way to get back the factory AT&T rom?
@bbombf
if you don't like my rom you can download AT&T's original rom, just google "Jack Windows Mobile 6.5 Upgrade.exe".
or go -->Here<--
GOOD work~
just a little peak of the icons, would like to change the waiting cursor but haven't found any easy accuses to any i like.
I installed this ROM but I checked "Select/Deselect All" in Download Area, included EFS Clear.
After a flash, my IMEI Changed by "0000000000000"...
How restore my original IMEI?????
8. in the Download Mode area, check "Select/Deselect All" it should check all the files for you.
it was not my intention to change anyone's IMEI number. i am terrible sorry for that.
i've uploaded the Stock AT&T rom as a PDA (i637_AT&T_Stock.PDA) so that the people that have been affected by the imei change, can change back to the original. if they want too.
But, this is not limited to just those. everyone can flash it, just follow the flashing instructions.

New Rom Info
Thanks Spiaatie.
i did a lot of searching for the correct flashing instructions. i have personally tried these new instructions (on a friends i637 phone) and can say they work! follow the new ones and you'll be just fine.
if you were affected by the imei change "*#06#", with my initial release. the best thing i can do for you is tell you to see if your carrier can help you out. sorry.
will be uploading a new rom soon.
goodwork! my i637 lost IMEI

sadly no, this is just if you don't like my rom. so you can go back to AT&T rom.
the best way to get it back is to contact your phone carrier and tell them what happen.
Follow your instruccions...great work dude...thx

it's not a bug. it was just a mistake in the old flashing instructions. he has corrected it since then.
I tried it out on my buddies dads phone and it went alright. imei is still the same.

i just dont get the fact why should i choose all 3 files but tick only pda to be flashed. Isn't only pda enough?
And where was the mistake in flashing instructions? I've been flashing chinese and mexican Roms 6.5 over 6.5 and it haven't changed my imei. I've been flashing over all 3 files pda eb0 and bin.
cheers
edit: i see now... we were told to tick "efs clear"...

i've have these for a bit, and though they are nice. i felt it would be easier on me and others, if i kept it as close to stock like as i could. this way their will be less bugs and more memory and ram. also closer to my style...

OK then. Will have a try. I have been trying to find a custom rom for a year or more without any luck. Not counting chinese roms full of mistakes and chinese lang . Let's hope this is it.
