Updated Rom for PPC-6700 How to activate on sprint - XV6700, PPC-6700 ROM Development

Hello All,
Upgrade went perfectly. However I can not activate my phone, sprint wants me to go into programming mode by hitting ##13845# and then hit edit in the phone menu. This option is not available, what do I do to get the phone provisioned. I got into the phone by entering ##788# and it took me to an edit menu. Now it asking me for a passcode? What is it or how do I get it?
Thanks

That passcode is your MSL. Take the battery out of your phone and then write down the HEX ESN.
Install GetSPC(attached below) and then input your HEX ESN with Caps lock on.
And then with the push of a button you will have your MSL. Make sure you write it down so you don't lose it.

how to activate verizon?

Cannot access edit menu
I cannot even get to the edit menu. I am not sure I understand how to get there. When on the phone keypad your entering in ##788# and pressing 'send'? This then brings up a menu for you?
If this these are not the steps, please explain what I should be doing/looking for?
Thanks

i cannot access anything. if i put either of those combinations of numbers in it just tries to dial those numbers when i hit send. i upgraded my phone to wm 6.1 n i cannot get it activated plz help thanks!

##778# then send, is the correct number for verizon. Some phones you must leave off the last # for it to go to the edit screen

[Help] Un-rooting/Modding Australian G1?

Don't know if this is right forum to put it in, so sorry if I'm wrong.
Today I thought it was a good idea to Root my G1.
After weeks of reading up on different ways and things to try and how to's I finally decided to attempt How To Hack,Flash,Root G1/Dream
That was all good and dandy used the new method and got it working first try.
used different roms and at the end of the day I wanted to go back to the default rom and image.
wasn't 100% sure how to do it, so I just fiddled.
Saw an option in the boot screen to return to factory defaults.
for some reason assumed it would set it back to Australian factory defaults but instead went to T-Mobile factory default.
Tried using my gmail username and password but it wouldn't let me in.
searched the forums and found a How To Unroot thread.
followed it, but in the end gave me an error at step 4 in the bootloader, but I wasn't too sure if that was because of my phone being from australia and not UK or USA or just because I did something wrong.
Can someone help me out, its very distressing, even though I recognise its my fault -.-'
der der der to me
Wrong forum - should be in Q&A really.
With that said, to do what you want and go back to the stock firmware as it was when you bought it you need to have a copy of it around to flash. I haven't got it and the only versions I've seen listed are for UK and USA G1s. That doesn't mean they aren't out there, only that I don't know about them. For the time being you may as well use a rooted ROM like Cyanogen's.
Is there a reason you want to unroot it?
If you've still got access to the screen asking for username/password, make sure your APN settings are correct. Hit Menu and go to APN settings.
I think Optus mainly sell the G1, so if your with Optus these are the APN/MMS settings:
INTERNET SETUP
Press the Menu Key, touch Settings
Touch Wireless Controls
Touch Mobile Networks
Touch Access Point names
Press the Menu button and New APN
Highlight Name then enter Optus Yes Internet
Highlight APN then enter yesinternet
Highlight APN type then enter default
Press the Menu button and touch Save
MMS SETUP
Press the Menu key, touch Settings
Touch Wireless Controls
Touch Mobile Networks
Touch Access Point names
Press the Menu button and touch New APN
Touch Name then enter Optus MMS and touch OK
Touch APN then enter mms and touch OK
Scroll down and touch MMSC then enter http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/ and touch OK
Touch MMS Proxy then enter 61.88.190.10 and touch OK
Highlight MMS Port then enter 8070 and touch OK
Highlight APN type then enter mms
Press the Menu button, touch Save
If you have no luck there, skip the setup and try connecting to an Access Point.
Not too sure on unrooting.

tp2 prl location

Can anyone tell me where the prl is located. I search the whole phone for .prl but none found. Is it a different file extention? thanks.
extract it using cdma workshop. I dont think you will find by searching
If you're just looking for the info, dial ##778
Choose "View"
if it asks for a pasword, use 000000 (I think it only asks when you choose to "Edit").
From the lower left soft key, choose "View Info" and select "PRL".

Isnt it ##778#...thanks.
What I'm trying to do is test a modded prl to see if i can get better than 1x data speed while connected to Verizon. Worked on my old A900M. Thougth it would be a simple cut n paste since this is a win-mob phone.
Mine works just pushing ##778 [+send].
Either way.
When I hit send it would dial, either way. Now I know where to find my prl version. thanks.
from what i've been reading and if i understand it correctly, some prl's can be loaded from our memory card? I'm going to extract it and mod it the old fashion way like i did on the a900m.

I would like to know that too
If you really want it on verizon you could ask an authorized verizon retailer to basically do this same thing for you. they love signing people up this way as they get to pocket the normal phone subsidy ($250 on the evo).

Well you can pretty much get Verizon coverage from that other thread using Altell's towers. Too bad ping gets raised, but hell... way better signal and speedtests

Congratulations buddy!
Thanks a hell of a lot for giving us this how to guide. I really appreciate it
Just had 3 questions:
1) Are you getting 3g data in Atlanta or is it just Edge?
2) What plan did you sign up for at MetroPCS?
3) If you decide you don't like MetroPCS, how do you reverse this process back to Sprint service?
Thanks again for figuring this out

that probably depends on the tower coverage for the specific geographical location ...
i see the directions mention HTC Hero a few times. has anybody confirmed this works on the EVO?
Lol, I just spent all night trying to figure this out and you have made it very easy. Thanks. The Diag Drivers link doesn't work but I am sure we could find it somewhere else.
I do have one question. Do you still need to have a Metro PCS dealer add the ESN to their network?

Yes the ESN needs to be added to Metro's inventory. I had them add it and wallaahhh!
What works and what doesn't?
Can you list what works and what does not? I'm particularly curious about a stable 3G.

I see... so for $50/mo (contract free) I can get the the same things that Sprint is offering me for $80/mo. When you minus the extra cost to buy the phone full retail $449 vs $199 on contract you actually saving about $570 over a two year period...
Hard choice
3G unstable
I have tried many configurations and no matter what I do, it seems that the "mobile network" connection is not stable. It will go out periodically and say "connection failed" or "turning on". Can you verify that you are not having this issue?
Also, this obviously does not bypass the WAP proxy which is used by Cricket. This means that other protocols, such as those used in navigation software and YouTube, are going to be blocked by the proxy server. Does anyone know a way around this?

google around for the droid eris cricket tutorial. that has the proper method to set it up, and it works on all other cdma htc android phones.
i believe it is posted on howardfourms under the cricket section.
I myself was wondering if it was the same because I flashed my evo to cricket the same way just off of flashing know how....going to try and see if the Eris method matches what needs to be done to the evo and will report back

How do I get my MSL without calling Sprint?

I finally purchased a used Sprint S5 recently. My plan is to put the phone on the Boost Mobile Network. Boost Mobile stores are able to unlock my phone to Boost network, HOWEVER the MSL is needed. Well I'm sure you already know, Sprint is giving me a difficult time. A Sprint CS says the phone's ESN is clear to activate on Sprint, however due to "the way it was purchased" they could not unlock the phone (or give me the MSL) for other carriers. What do I do?

On way is to activate it on someone elses account for just 5 minutes or so. Will give you chance to make sure it works. Then reactive their own phone and you're done. Now have your friend check his email and they will have an email from sprint thanking them for activating the new phone. Look at the email.. It will show some of the device specifics like model number, phone number and also an activation code. The activation code is actually your msl. It's a standard email from Sprint whenever you activate or reactivate a phone from your PC.
So find a friend with a Sprint phone and make sure the account is in his (or her) name. Have them log into their Sprint account on a PC and once they're logged in, scroll down to the "About My Devices" section. In this section you will see is a dropdown box that says "manage my devices". Click the down arrow in the box and choose, "activate new phone". It will take to you to a very straight forward wizard to guide you thru it. Choose no to all the options that they offer and when you get to the part of the activation about resetting the phone prior to activation, don't worry about it. Just click thru the steps of demo window that pops up then close that window after the demo is done. Once you finish the demo and close the pop up window you can continue. Follow the prompts until you click the activate button and turn off the phones as per the message that pops up. When you turn on your phone it will be activated with a voice and data signal. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. Now check your friends email for your msl and you're done. Then do the same thing again but choose your friends phone to activate (as the new phone). Also note you will need the id numbers under the battery or have them ahead of time.

Thank you for the response I appreciate it. I will definitely consider. Is there any other method besides one mentioned above? I was thinking more along the lines of an apk like "Get MSL" to acquire the lock code. I've been utilizing the search function on both XDA and Google, but it seems that any method using an APK or program is defunct due to the new Software upgrade. Does anyone know of any other way?
Google GTv3.1.5.apk and GTUpdate2_v3.1.8.apk by idone.apps . The "GT" stands for Galaxy Tools; It will internationally unlock you sim as well as give you your MSL, enable hotspot etc... I beleive it was taken off google play, just google the 2 apk files and you'll find them.
