HTC Home 24 hour clock - General Topics

OK OK... I know what youa re going to say... "There are threads everywhere in here, why dont you look?"
Well I have and everything keeps pointing to changing the Region settings. OK I have done that. currently my regional settings are set to "h:mm:ss tt" and my HTC Home (HTCHomeWM56Tab.cab) currently has 15:00. I have changed it to evey different setting and the only thing that changes is the leading 0.
I have change the settings soft reset, changed them back , soft reset again... over and over but I still only have 24 hour clock. in other plugins the time format is correct, it is only the HTC Home plugin that is incorrect.
Any advice on resolving this issue would be great.
Thanks,
SoBBie

OK Now I am really confused and frustrated... I have found also that the regional settings are held in [HKLM>nls] and [HKLM>nls>overrides]. I have changed these and still nothing is happening to the.
Here are the settings in my Registry:
[HKLM>nls]
DefaultACP: 1252
DefaultLCID: 1033
OCP: 437
LegacyLocaleMode: 1
SystemLCID: 1033
[HKLM>nls>overrides]
IDate: 1
ITime: 1
ITLZr: 1
ITMPN: 1
SDate: -
SSDte: dd-MMM-yy
STFmt: hh:mm:ss tt
STime: :
LICD: 1033
Now when I change the Date format it changes in HTC Home immediately. When I change the the date setting through the regional settings the date changes right away. But NOTHING I do to the time formate changes it to non-military. I soft reset after each registry change but still nothing. The Time format changes in my time settings but not in HTC Home
Please any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure what to try next. Does anyone know of a registry key that locks the time format? I thought I read the ITime activates overrides which has the correct settings... am I incorrect?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me...
Best Regards,
SoBBie

I just flashed Dutty's Official WM6.1 today on my Tilt and I to am having the same problem, and it's drivin' me nutz.
I have tried re-flashing, changing registry still the same.
I flashed this originally in the P.M. hours and did remember seeing the time displayed correctly on initial boot after flashing, then stupid me let the at&t config run and since then it's military time only.
I tried re-flashing hoping that not letting the at&t config run might fix it but this time it was on military time on first boot before the config ran so what ever it changed it was something that is not reaffected be re-flashing the same ROM.
I also tried a hard reset, no luck there either. Next step is to try flashing back to OEM ROM and starting from scratch.
Hopefully somebody will have a fix posted soon with an answer to this so I don't have to waste my time with OEM flash.

Just doing some more checking, it seems it is a bug in the HTC home app. I set it to display date on the today screen and the time is correct format (8:00 p.m.) there but directly below the large "Home screen" clock shows military time (20:00). Is there somewhere to edit this in the home screen part, as I stated before it showed correctly on initial boot from initial flash?
Thaks for any help, keep up the awsome work Dutty!!

go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides
and add the following values as String Value...
"S1159" = " AM"
"S2359" = " PM"
or just import the attached reg ... try and post your results

set STFmt to HH:mm:ss
it worked for me

PapaDocta thx for help.

Was it really necessary to revive a tread from almost three years ago?

Why do WM6 ROM's revert to 24 hour time?

Does anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it? I've tried just about every ROM on here and it happens with all of them... All you cookers out there are doing awesome work, but I was curious whether anyone else had this problem. I can't tell if an application is causing it, I don't think that's the case. Even when I set regional settings to US it still happens after a day or so and once it does it won't return to 12 hour time. Any ideas?
fix the registry before you flash it and it won't

Crossbow Reloaded is set to h:mm:ss so its not military time by default. I think some are that way since the default base roms seem that way. I modified the faria base so the region was US and not military time by default.
Is there a list of all known registry tweaks (preferably with ones that work with WM6) somewhere that I've missed? Is this issue only fixable by changing this registry setting prior to a flash or can it be done after the fact? Thanks for all your help.
I'm not sure what you are asking... If you are on a ROM that defaults to military time, then just change it to h:mm:ss via Settings > System > Regional Settings > Time. In the drop down for the time format on the right side of the dropdown there are arrows. click the up arrow a couple of times and you will see the non-24 hour ones. Choose it and you are done. I've never seen it switch back after doing this on any WM6 rom, so no registry hacks are needed.
i use the following keys with my kitchen. I believe mun's latest rom is set to US 12hour by default but i'm not sure since i use these to force it
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides]
"IDate"="0"
"SDate"="/"
"SSDte"="MM/dd/yy"
"STFmt"="h:mm:ss:tt"
"STime"=":"
mfrazz nailed it. I wasn't aware of the other settings in the drop down menu. When I'd click on it it'd only show 2 options, it never occured to me to try scrolling through. Duhh... Only had my Wizard for a month now, came from modding Moto's so still getting familiar with the Windows Mobile OS. Should have known it was something so blatently obvious, thanks a lot everyone. Much appreciation and respect.

HTC Home Plugin + Hidelogo? YES!

After a few hours of hard resets and cursing I finally got HTC Home and HideLogo to play together in a manner that didn't produce reset loops and loud roommate annoying expletives . Check out my article on The Mobile Underground for a step by step and pic!
http://themobileunderground.com/2008/05/18/hidelogo-and-htc-home/
***UPDATE*** I've updated the version of HTC Home included in the .zip file, now not only does it not show the two battery icons, it doesn't mess with the vibrate switch, and is completely customizable with HHC :-D!
Hello! Can anybody upload the file you downloaded to another location? It seems that the download link in the page posted is not valid anymore
I really would like to test this hehe Thanks a lot!
Updated! Sorry 'bout that! Hadda update the URL for the new .zip.
Thank you very much!
The download link is not valid. Is it hosted somewhere else?
Ok, redid the link again, not sure what the problem was, still getting used to the backend on TMU...enjoy! (again heh)
keeps resetting for me and i triple checked everything. Will reset and try again. its possible total commander doesnt save how i thought it would. I just exited the program after doing the changes. Then did a soft reset.
I switched to PHM registry editor and still no luck. grrr. will keep trying.
tried it a third time and still keeps resetting.
One of the things that I found very important was to verify that Htc home plug is #4 or #5 in the "order" and there are no order duplicates...also really important. You can ignore level 0, make Dial Lookup Order 1, Active Call Order 2, Hide Logo order 3 and HTC Home order 4, make sure HTC home is type 4
Im gonna try it 1 more time before bed. After I verified 1-4 i went back and made the others 5-13. Is that correct, or should I do the others 14-22? I did it both ways but the first time was with total commander which I think sucks as a reg editor.
Only other thing i had trouble with was with hidelogo, there is no order value in there. So what I did was made a new DWORD value and put in the correct value of 3. Thought this was how you did it but im not 100% sure.
I use PHM registry editor. The order of the other plugins doesnt matter so much as long as there are no duplicates. Hidelogo should start out with an order, usually 32. Also make sure you're checking the "hide lookup field" on the menu on the homescreen.
I switched to PHM too so thats not the problem. Also I do check off hide lookup field just like your instructions say on step 4.
Just tried to do it again and its still resetting. For some reason my hidelogo does not have an entry for Order. I have to create a new value for it. I dont want to give up on it but ive spent a few hours now trying it and still nothing.
To update:
I am able to see the value Order now in hidelogo. The problem was once hidelogo was installed, it wasnt actually doing anything. I had to go to today menu and uncheck it, then recheck it. That made the logos go away. Then I am able to see Order 32 in the reg editor. However that still did not make it work for me. Im going on my 5th attempt now.
Psyber,
Thank you so much for this great guide. I did get it working. The only thing i did different was between steps 2 and 3.
After installing hidelogo.cab i made sure it was actually working. It wasnt, so i went and unchecked it in today settings, then checked it again. After that no more logos. At this point i followed the guide exactly. I think this was my only problem, and why it never worked.
Now im still stumped by the 2 battery icons on the today screen. that is still there. Psyber, can you post a link to the cab to get rid of the second battery icon? I have the Title Bar Clock enabled and its still there on the home screen, but it does get rid of it everywhere else, which is nice.
hmm...
Can't seem to download the file mate
can you please post the instructions and file somewhere? The link doesn't work anymore...
Please reupload the instructions. I keep on having the problem with reset after install Hidelogo.
Thanks
1. Install sdkcerts.cab
2. Install hidelogo.cab
3. Install HTC Home Plugin (if asked to soft reset after install, DONT!) If it doesn’t show up on the today screen yet, don’t worry, it will after soft reset.
4. On today screen, check menu, preferences, Hide Lookup Field
5. Fire up your favorite registry editor and make the following changes (or verify they match):
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Active Call
Enabled 1, Options 1, Order 2, Selectability 2, Type 5
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Dial Lookup
Enabled 1, Hidden 1, Options 0, Order 1, Selectability 2, Type 5
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\hidelogo
Enabled 1, Options 0, Order 3, Selectability 2, Type 4
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home
Enabled 1, Options 0, Order 4, Selectability 2, Type 4
6. Browse all of the other entries in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items
Verify that no other entries occupy “Order” 1-4.
If anything else occupies one of those entries, change the order, starting with 14…15…etc.
7. Soft reset
Enjoy!!
I think this is what I found from google cache ages ago.
Thanks for the instruction Zocster. It work great

Date/Time Format Issue

A few weeks ago, I installed WM6.1 on my Tilt, using vL26_3.53.502.0_WM6.1_PRO_V1 (not sure who created it).
My issue is that now, even though I have set it to display dates in US format, it is still showing them in UK format.
Also, I cannot seem to get it to display 12 hour time, instead of 24 hour time.
Anyone know if there is a fix for this?
Thanks,
Steve

In the future, please ask in the appropriate thread. This is not a ROM development issue, it's an issue with a specfic ROM.
For starters try looking in
HKLM\nls\overrides
in the regsitry.

Searching a bit will help next time, but:
Check under >Settings >System >Regional Settings> and make sure the region is right, and then under Time you should have Time style look like h:mm:ss. If you have HH, that will skrew it up.
Check under >Settings >System >Clock and Alarms> and make sure your home settings are correct too.
Check them both, make sure they're right, and then soft reset, pushing the power button until it asks if you want to turn the phone off.
You need to go into regional settings to make the change in both date and time. Remember for the time to scroll up to find the time ending in tt. Do a soft reset after changing the settings.
BTW - this has been address a bunch of times already.

Remove battery icon in notifications? I swear I'm not a noob!

I've searched and tried everything I could find and have done in the past, and I still can't get the battery icon to go away when on the home screen. I edited the registry so that the time and date are shown in the notification area always, but on the home screen that green battery icon overlays them and just makes a mess. Is the raphael different than every other HTC device I've had so far in this regard? In case it matters I have a fuze and am running NATF's latest ROM (2.2 I think).
Maybe you should post this in the official NATF V 2.2 Thread. he should be able to help you.
I really don't think this is a ROM specific problem, but if nobody has input, I'll ask the chef...
Solved.
I installed Advanced Config and used it to change the notification from battery to time. I don't know which registry key was responsible, but it's all good now. None of the manual registry key edits I used on previous devices worked but apparently advanced config knows which one to change! It wasn't a ROM issue.
Just for info refering to above post
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=dword:0
0= Battery; 1=Clock
(U can always see the reg hack in the adv cfg *.xml file)
ah hah! I was focusing on "TBOpt=3" to try to show both date and time and ignoring the "ShowTitleBarClock" part! Thanks!

Problems with S2U2 on Wizard

Hi All,
I have a wizrad (USA Tmo) with original rom. I have the current version of s2u2 installed on my device and have the following problems. I have searched the forum unsuccessfully. And have tried my best to resolve the issues. I am hoping that I am just missing something painfully obvious. Thanks for the help
1) I have it registered to lock on wake up. But it only works sporadically. I have no idea when it will lock. Most times it won't. I have checked the exemption list and don't have any offending programs registered.
2) I set the clock path in the registry. But every time I restart iLock it erases my set Value data. So I can never get the clock to appear.
Thanks again. Perhaps these are known issues that I have somehow over looked. My eyes have been pretty weary lately- working in front of computer a lot lately. So I apologize if i did miss something.

Ok, 1st this should probably be in the Wizard forum..............but, try setting it to lock when the backlight shuts off, this is how I had mine set up, and it worked fine.
As for the clock, if it is not showing up at all, make sure that you have it set to ClockA (I think) and see if that works.

i think this should be in the S2U2 forum, that way the creator can try and diagnose the issues.

Thank you both. I will make sure I repost in the correct forum.
