"Perfect Setup" - Palm Treo 750

Hi everyone
I would just like to pose the question, what your idea of the "perfect" setup for the Palm Treo 750?
As for myself I have:
S2U2.99c
S2V.32
PCM.19
PCM Keyboard.13
Weather To Go 4.2
Zombienexus Black Reptile skin dial pad
PointUI 1.02b with Update Manager
I would just like to see what other have so I can possibly improve my experience with my Treo 750.
Thanks to all who post!!

Does your sms work through PCM .19? Does your dialpad skin actually work and change the look of it? Can you post links to all of these programs you have or cabs?

My sms does not work through pcm but I hope someone knows how to fix this problem.
As for the dial pad, when I am in PointUi I can press the green phone button to go directly to the new dial pad. When I am not in PointUI i have to be on a call first then press the phone icon thats by the reception bars in order to see it. Also it seems to take away my sound if Ichange my ringtones but I have found one dial pad that does not remove my sound. The Zombienexus has many themes in the .zip pack but the one that always works is a simple black dial pad.
Also in order to make PCM your default keyboard you need to use the DefaultIM file I included.
S2U2.99c is at http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/s2u2.shtml
Zombie dial pads are at http://www.zombienexus.net/portal/gl_subdirectory.asp?srt=3&ord=1&sec=3&catid=89
Weather to go is at http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/get-weather-to-go-v4-2.html

You can change it with modifying Treo original resources.

nice but maybe it is my 750....The only time I see the phone pad "1st pic listed in your link" is when I answer a call, then immediately it disappears and shows the caller id and time being used.
How can I use this dialpad to stay open? The only dial pad I can access its via Menu > Dial pad but only shows number keys and not "Speed Dial", "Call History", "Talk" buttons.
To see the original wm5 dialpad you don't must be on the today screen.
In example go to inbox message and press the green pad you will see the wm5 dialpad and not the treo one.
You can easily find that PhoneDialer_enUS.dll has resources of Treo's dial pad when you check all resource files as I posted.
You can change dial pad as follows if you modify these resources.
This is only a test, so very ugry though...
Hi,
i try to copy the file but i cannot how do you do ?
And then is there a way to disable it ?
merci
No one can tell me how to copy this file and skin it.
You can get this file by dumping NBH file.
I used another method though.

He is using EZdial on his diaer, and it dosent fit on the Kaiser dialer.
hi shay and austinsnyc
thanks for trying to help
shay is right it is not possible to use EZDail on the default dialped.
since the default dialped that comes with the original ROM on the Kaiser is also a SKIN
it is not possible to disable it by editing the registry and install a different skin because the original skin always have preference
i need to find a way to disable the default dialped deeper than only editing the following registry velue :
HLM > Security > Phone > Skin > Enabled to 0 from 1
Ori
someone ?
ideas ?
nobody have a clue for me how can i do it
I'll post here instead of making new thread.
I also want to change my current dial pad on vario III. I already have whats presented in first post and want to have something I had on my wizard with WM6 which looked like this. Any ideas how to change to that dialpad?
very god!!!

I managed to get this dialpad by mistake !
I tried to use the program "Realvga". It has an option to remove dialpad which I selected, It then gave me this dialpad that you are talking about. Obviously the rest of the programs fatures didnt work. But i find this defualt dialpad to be faster then the default Kaisers pad.
Lemme know if this is what you are after.

spot on my friend! much appreciated! i do agree that without skin it is faster and what's more important for me it is so much more usable!
thanks!
The registry key posted above by ori_lavee and a soft reset are enough to get back to the original dialpad, which i like better than htc's dialer, but..... 3g video call doesn't work. it's not on the dial pad, it's in the menu, but it doesn't work

yes that is the problem
well not for me as I'm not using video calling but i can imagine it is a serious limitation nevertheless
I was just checking in to see if there was a new dialer perhaps that looks like the one on the touch - like the one in the attached jpg in the first photo?
Thanks
Dutty's newest ROM for the Tilt has almost that exact dialer.
Thank you very much! I don't use speed dial but the person who asked me if I could find one complained that speed dial disn't work afterwards - do you know if I just wasn't doing something right.

If you want to revert to the standard (and nicer IMHO) WM6 dialpad, just edit the following key :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\phone\skin]
Enabled = 0

Thank you, it works. Now I have a DialPAD I like. After custom ROM I got a Touch DialPAD which somehow missing the Speed Dial key pad.
Was the same for me, and I didnt like the blue background for reading the smartdialer's matching entries

Different dialers for Tilt. How to?

Hi,
Can somebody point me to the thread or somehow explain how to replace different style dialers in Tilt (presumably applies to all WM6 devices)?
The problem is that up until recently, roms I installed had this style with smaller dial screen and speed dial that would only show numbers from speed dial list.
Starting with Dutty's DualTouch 1, it changed to this huge screen and speed dial that takes entire screen width and shows my entire address book.
I would like it to be the same as before. I tried installing some 3g skins that worked fine on my 8525, but no luck here - speed dial sticks.
If I choose different view from the menu (like 'call only'), it reverts to entire list once I switch from phone and than go to phone again.
So things I would like to achieve:
1. Replace dialer wit the one that was there before (Dutty's TouchFlo 7 and before)
2. If not possible, make my selection of view 'calls only' stick
3. Make font smaller so it can fit the entire number when scrolling the list.
Thanks

I believe you want this dialer (which is what I remember being in Dutty's 7 and before). Just copy this to your phone and run it (or use ActiveSync to install it from your PC)
thanks. I'll try it with my next install of dual touch (for now I rolled back to 7b final)

Is this a video dialer?

Pointui 1.02b with SmartPhones support

works good on my vox (with dr. gonzo guava rom 0.5) and looks perfect. (i am using black theme). i didnt notice any bugs yet and its so fast too.
http://pointui.com/Home.aspx
little hint:
to unlock keyboard you have to press "up", then "down" on d-pad.
(thx h4waii)
Tried it a while ago on my Vox, only issue is that it doesn't run at the system level - so backing out with the End call button will exit the application completely.
BTW, you don't have to push center on the d-pad to unlock. Just up and down or even down and up quickly will work. Hopefully they add more support for skins and add the ability to input numbers from the home screen to place a call.
I have been playing around with this for a few days now. The interface is zippy and looks ultracool. However, there is almost nothing you can do to customize it to your liking. Because of this, it remains only a good idea for me, can't use it
Hopefully, the developers will fix all those issues and we'll have a really usable version for smartphones. That would be something...!!
Yes I'm also looking forward to it
I just want the ability to see which Wifi network I'm connected to, and a better application laucher (too much scrolling for me), also what said h4waii and of course skinning support.
And it would be perfect for me, I don't really use any specific plugin on homescreen anyway.
Personnaly I tested, and I wasn't enable to dial a phone number.
I had to bring back to WM home to dial a number.
I think it's a little borring...
Did you see this problem
Yes. There is no dialer for PointUI, hopefully they make one.

And so??? How do you dial a number?
Well on pocket pc they can hit the regular green phone key and that brings up the usual dial screen but it doesn' work on smartphones.
Well i's still a beta
Ok thank you DOc
it has been released for WM2003 (SE) now too as an Alpha Version, runs pretty stable on my XDA II with WM2003.

To dial a number, you should completely terminated the home.exe process, dial your number and then you can bring back up the PointUI home application. If you simply hit Home twice, it will keep the pointui process running in the background which seems to consume a lot of RAM.
I have my zero key mapped to upon triple keypress, close the active application.
I dont really see the advantage of using this program what functions does it add ?

changing the default wm6 unbranded rom dial pad skin

as in the topic, anybody knows how to change the dial pad skin? it's just ugly and since the treo doesn't have the 'phone' application as such, all the nice skins just don't work :/

Search more. There was a thread about that (disabling activecall plugin, changing registry) and it IS possible.

I see. So it is tied into the activecall plugin then? That thing is handy, but they made it way too integrated with everything else (i.e. carrier name on today screen, dial from today screen). They should have separated it into different plugins.
that is so true, i mean - i could live without the today screen dialing as i the htc home speed dial thingie bob altho, the red cnl call button screen off feature is a must in order to squeeze a half-decent battery life out of the stock treo battery pack;
i have to admit i just got my treo (read: after years and years of being a faithfull fan i forced myself to replace my nokia with a wm phone) a week ago and didn't upgrade to wm6.1 yet; this is planned and will happen as soon as i get a chance to; the question is, do the wm6.1 images come with this plugin or not?

I am not using 6.1 yet, but ask that question in the ROM forum for better answers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=322
WM6.1 roms have dial lookup and active call plugins.
