How to see what VID - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Is there a way to find out Vender ID?
I have a bricked Qtek S200 (G4) and Think there is a solution to unbrick the device, I need the original ROM that it came with.
Problem is the rom I think it had (Swedish) says invalid vender ID.
So I wonder,., Can I read vender ID while in BootLoader?
Is there a way to un-vender ID the ROM's I have?
Thanks

The simplest way is to flash a ROM without checking the VendorID! earch over the Prophet forum for "NVID" or similar!

How can I fix "Wrong vendor ID" at Qtek S200?

I tried to flash the Qtek S200 with the ROM which I found at
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/S200/. But the software said "Wrong vendor ID". CID unlocking way which is used at a Wizard does't work. ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe does't work also. How can I solve this problem?
flashing difficulties w/th some prophet models
I have had the same issues with my dopod 818 pro..Couldn't flash, always received vendor ID error.
The only way I was able to flash my device to a newer rom was by using JAFWM, which is an aftermarket flashing tool created by Odeon. The device costs about 50usd. With JAFWM I was able to easily flash my prophet to a newer QTEK and Jamin rom, without to much hassle. Note: I still had to use awizard to unlock the CID.

Want to downgrade form Dopod ROM (AKU2) to old I-Mate or qtek rom
Patched romupdateutility can't downgrade to older qtek or i-mate roms
Does anybody know way to downgrade ROM without using JAFWM?
I want to know this too.
I want to downgrade in order to unlock CID.
The romupdateutility does not downgrade the ROM
Same problem here

I guess not...
If only we had a custom ROM like the one BUTTON made for the wizard users....
Soon will be add to JAFWM the UNLOCK button and than no need downgrade.
Any way, i think is really not a good way downgrade the HTC's especially not for BEGINNERS because if something goes wrong the unit is dead and you can only repair it by desoldering the bga (and this requires a lot of experience) or by JTAG.

ya, i thing so! if the divice is dead, we can fix it with labtool(if laptool support prophet's flash
machinagod has a solution! You do not need JAFWM.
Only the IPL/SPL can not be downgraded. So, all you have to do is cook a special ROM that has the current IPL/SPL on your device but an older OS, Radio, Extended ROM. The tools for doing this are all on the Wiki for the prophet, but should also work for the wizard and typhoon.

Where exactly are these tools? I've searched all arround the wiki.
Hey. You obviously didn't search hard enough because I found it straight away:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=RomTools/typhoonnbfdecode.pl
Use the Typhoonbfdecode_v5 program to decode the NBF, then the prep_imgfs and viewimgfs (which actually creates a dump of the rom) to extract and view the contents.
I think you can use AddFile/DeleteFile/BuildImgfs/make_imgfs to rebuild the ROM after tweaking it, but I haven't actually done that yet myself. Other than the typhoonbfdecode_v5, all of those tools are part of the itsutils which you can find around here somewhere.

Thanks for your reply, but I already know all of this. The WM5editing tools are just for editing the rom(files and registry).
What we need is something to inter-change the portions of an nbf file.
But thanks anyway
EDIT: Also, typhoonnbftools are only able to decode, not encode probably because it is incopatible with the new header.
It shows the following error:
Code:
read 03900000 for os from 80040000-OS_0.nb
no ECEC at 0x40 in OS image
Anyone have a solution about the above error?
TO DOWNGRADE YOU CAN USE PDA MOBIZ CUSTOM ROM. IT'S ESPECIALLY COOKED FOR NOTHING BUT DOWNGRADING AND THEN CID UNLOCKING. PACKAGE INCLUDES THE CID UNLOCKER TOO.
I did that on a spanish Qtek s200 which came with Qtek 2.09 ROM and G3 chip. But fyi, it was not SIM locked.
Pdamobiz site has also a pdf guide explaining the steps.
One thing not mentioned in their guide is downgrade.bat giving an error and failing to write itsutils.dll to pda. I tried installing enablerapi.cab on pda and restart. It worked...
See this pdamobiz article for more information. The ROM mentioned in the article is mirrored here on this site.
The procedure is built around the aWizard tool and this tool is in itself enough from unlocking the CID.

You only need to include IPL/SPL if downgrading from a version 2.x OS to 1.x or upgrading from 1.x to 2.x.
Of course if your phone has a G4 flash chip then downgrading to version 1.x is not possible.
My Jamin is a G4 unit, can I still use the PDAMOBIZ DOWNGRADE ROM to downgrade from SPL 2.2 to 1.x? so I can flash the original JAMIN ROM and send the phone to repair ... the speaker at the back is dead ...

Why edit with a hex editor?
I meant with HTCRT.Exe from Development and hacking thread.
Wait i'll attach it.
But you will need to extract the .nb file first from the .nbh in the rom.
Then try and put it together again but entering the correct country ID and Stuff..

Thanx a lot, ill give it a try, coz i did an edition with this tool, buuut, i cant remember if i used as a base rom the RUU_Elfin_DOPODASIA_WWE_2.20.707.1R_4.1.13.51_03.0 7.90_RED_Ship_Reduced, that is, actually, my closer option to get a success flash.
Thanx again... working... ill post results.
RESULTS: BAD NEWS
Ok, i did that edition, i only changed CID ID, coz this is the problem in this ROM.
CHANGES:
Original CID ID: DOPOD001
NEW CID ID: HTC_001
The same problems :
DEVICE ID: ELF010052
CID ID: HTC__001
I can not find ROM, after htcrt - image corrupted.
please help
Just to clarify - htcrt is a great tool for building nbh files but it doesn't sign them with the correct certificate for your phone - it uses it's own certificate. You can only flash an nbh built with this tool to a phone that has certificate checking disabled.
If your phone is stuck in bootloader mode and you have the standard SPL, you have to get a genuine signed ROM - and believe me, I sympathise with you. My HTC is stuck in bootloader and the original signed ROM is nowhere to be found...
It seems has understood, it is necessary to search ROM for ELF010052
http://www.dopodasia.com/download/R...07.1R_4.1.13.51_03.07.90_RED_Ship_Reduced.exe
DEVICE ELF0100*2 (Ok)
CID DOPOD001 - not work
I search
RUU_Elfin_HTC_WWE_2.XX.XXX.XR

Bricked my vox, please help

Hi there,
I have bricked my vox whilst flashing it using Jocky's USPL utility, the cable fell out and now all that the vox will do is boot up to the HTC splash screen and then hang.
I can get the phone to the bootloader screen but I can't flash a new ROM as it is previously a Vodafone branded v1415 so I get Invalid Vender ID no matter what ROM I use.
I guess I need the official VF UK one but I have searched the web for hours now and I am unable to source it.
Is it possible to get round the Invalid Vender ID in any way from the bootloader screen as I obviously can't boot it to be able to use the SDA unlocker.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bunter12345
I don't know where you can find vodafone rom for 1415 but you can try with this swiss rom for their XPA v1415 version of VOX.

Guys have you tried removing the Operator ID from the nbh file before flashing it ?
You can use TyphoonNBFTools to do that.. If you remove the operator field completely you should be able to flash the rom you want with a locked SPL..
But there is just the problem that it is a NBH file and TyphoonNBFTools can only, as the name suggests, only open NBF file.. So you need to find some tool to convert a NBH file to NBF, remove the operator field, and convert back again, and flash..
Or what about flashing the new SPL while in Bootloader with a RUU? But be aware i do not know if that could brick your device forever..

Also, maybe in your searching, you've found a solution for my other Thread problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=389065)? I just need to update rom via MiniSD and not via USB...
Thanks

what am i doing wrong?
i found my cid by using "info 2" in MTTY
used TyphoonNBF Tool to edit a ROM i download from the Imate site but thier was a link to a ROM in the guide you left me that didnt work :S will it make a diffrence if i do all this on a diffrent rom like i have been trying to do?
Thank you for all your help sharedworld & rafyvitto

Me Too
I've gone and done the same thing, but the problem is when I follow your instructions the .nbf file that is produced after the header has been changed is only 512 bytes! So the updater con't read it, what can I do?
tiny nbf
When I change the CID header using typhoonnbftools, the resulting file is only ever 1kb or smaller. What am I doing wrong?
