ok i have a cingular 8525 rite now.. and i mostly want a fone to talk to friends on instant messengers like AIM on my fone and i think its much simplier on a sidekick3. I cant switch services but if i were to get a sidekick and unlock it would it be able to work with all the functions of a sidekick but with my cingular plan if i put my sim card in it? or is this kinda thing possible? basically...can i use a sidekick3 and will it be compatible with my cingular plan that works for my 8525?
I believe that the Sidekick can only access phone and SMS services through Cingular/AT&T's network. That means no web or the like.
i was wondering if anyone knows of an aim program that would work with the tzones proxy setup for the tmobile wing besides the IM+ since it doesnt seem to work with the touch it 2.3 rom
Have you tried Palringo yet? It should work.
i dont think your able to choose that option with that program
your right its not an option. my bad. i just thought because i have tmo too that it should work. but i guess im just a sucker and have the unlimited data plan.
jus change the port to 110
I am wondering if its possible to get mms messages (download them)via wifi. I have tried and didnt work. Is there a program or reg hack that willl make this work? I prefer not to pay verizon for data charges to dl pictures when I have wifi. thanks...
Hey everyone. Today I got a deal with my local AT&T store for a Fuze for $250 without the rebate. I don't plan on buying the data plan, as I am surrounded by Wi-Fi and it would be a waste of $30 per month.
I know that AT&T likes to charge money for data connection for people without data plans, so I had some questions. If I were to to go to the Communication Manager and turn off the Data Connection, then will this stop ALL connection? For example, if it is turned off from there, then this should completely stop all of this connection and I shouldn't see a cent on my bill for data plan, right? Also, is there a risk of the data connection turning on when I start up certain programs, like Opera?
And if data connection is off, then does this mean I won't be able to use the Pop3 mail and the weather features? What other functionalities will I be missing out on without the data plan? Thanks!
Search for NOGPRS cab file. This allows you to turn off the media net connection that would incur a bill. With it off using this program, no programs can automatically turn it on. All the other programs should be functional if wifi is enabled and you are near a connection. This includes mail and waether. There really isnt any functionality that I can think of off the top of my head that would be missing, except that some IM clients only use gprs.
I've been searching now for about 45 mins(my phone got here an hour ago) and I can't find a definitive answer about how to get data working for T-Mobile on the AT&T Fuze. (I know... I know... I can't 3G since this phone doesn't support the 1700 band but Edge is good enough for now)
Any insight on how to get this working would be really appreciated. I know that there was a network wizard in a bunch of old Wizard ROMS that would allow you to set your carrier and it auto-configured.
Does such a method exist for the Touch Pro?
Search to find the Connection Setup.

I think I found what I was looking for. Took a while but I finally found it.
Just in case you might still be a little lost, here's the link to get all the settings you need.

Could you post a link? I'm on t-mobile, too, but don't have a data plan. I would like to know the particulars, just in case.
you could just flash a ROM like ROMeOS or Lantis and they set up the connection automatically

I found and used the Network Wizard Cab attached below. It didn't really seem to work that well though. You can try it if you like but I recommend inputting the data settings manually.

That actually didn't help because T-Mobile doesn't support the AT&T Fuze. Thanks for trying though bro.
do a search for tmobyjoe cabs there are a few different cabs you can use to set up data depending on wich data plan you have
use the this link:
http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/
and select the wing for data and mms. It will work fine
Come on.. is it REALLY all that hard guys ? The AT&T Fuze is no different than any other Windows Mobile device that TMobile supports. Your options are simple... Call TMobile, tell them you have a "Wing" or any other touchscreen PPC they might sell and have them walk you through the settings. OR, add a new connection yourself and input "wap.voicestream.com" as the access point. Simple as that. ORRRR, use the attached cab.... LOL
A little late, but better than never.
The above CAB and the previous TmoByJoe CABs still point to the old wap.voicestream.com APN that requires the 216.155.165.50:8080 proxy which only supports HTTP requests. This has been replaced in favor of the epc.tmobile.com APN which does not require a proxy and therefore supports many more protocols/apps (FTP, VPN, Remote Desktop, IM clients, TF3d weather, etc).
Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks > Edit your Tmobile connection or create a New connection > Edit or New Modem with APN epc.tmobile.com, no user/pass/domain, no proxy.
The epc.tmobile.com APN may not be accessible in all areas yet, so if you're having trouble connecting to it you may need to stay with the old wap.voicestream.com APN for the time being.
First you might wanna flash to the Rapheal stock ROM(Use the Wiki to find it), Then use the auto connection setup inside the connections tab of settings. Once you do the auto connection setup go into connections (inside the connections tab) go to mangae connections, you should see t-mobile data as the name, but go to edit and leave the name as t-mobile data click next and change from wap...whatever to
(internet2.voicestream.com) Next all you have to do is add the $24.99 unlimited data package through the unsupported handset customer service. tell them you already changed the settings already so you can be ready to go. but it can take up to 48 or 72 hours to be fully activated. trust me im using t-mobile data right now.
do not use the method above my post from fhsieh, that is not the right info. use my method as it is from t-mobile directly.
the info above your post is correct and will work! the epc.tmobile.com settings are mostly used by people with tzones 5.99 plan to get full internet but will also work with unlimited data plan.
i have been with t-mobile for a long time now and for the unlimted data internet2.voicestream.com is the correct access point name. maybe for the t-zones lol you can use what u said. And i just changed my settings and could not access the web from using epc.tmobile.com.
Internet and internet2.voicestream.com as well as epc have all been very unreliable to me. It's the reason I still use wap.voicestream.com It works very well with my unlimited plan and it works the 5.99 Tzones option if you also put in the proxy details.
I am using the $5.99 tzones plan and the epc.tmobile.com APN works very well for me, I have had absolutely no connection problems and all of my programs work without having to go through the HTTP proxy. Again I mentioned that it's not going to work in all areas, but if it happens to work in your area there is a general agreement that it is better than the old wap.voicestream.com APN, as it gives you essentially the same features as the Total Internet plan (no hard bandwidth limit) at reduced cost.
Only testing will tell which APN works best for you, but this way at least you know about the three APNs that Tmobile uses.
All three of us have given good trouble shooting info..sorry for the bashing in my other posts. has this info helped the kid.
Ok, i talked to tmobile and the maximum limit of data usage on the $5.99 T-Zones is 50 Megabytes. Is this true? Does this mean I can't tether without being charged? or are they just saying that so that you don't over use it?
(I mean for godsakes its EDGE, it's already so slow, it should be free)
