Dual sim - Touch Cruise General

Anyone know if dual sim adapter work on polaris? I have one on my glorious old Qtek 9090 switching radio simply starting and stopping flight mode. Can i made the same thing?
Ciao.

I've tried a 20th generation dual sime but doesn't work.
I ordered a simore dual sim silver, i'll get back to you when i've tested it.

Thanks seyo23. I'll wait notice!

My old dual sim holder (6th generation I guess) worked the first time I insert in my new Cruise. After few software installing (phone alarm, Agenda fusion, s2u2) It don't work well more! One operator work only after a soft reset! Any ideas? Or what kind of dual sim adapter work surely for cruise? Ciao

I bought a simore dual sim silver.
It works perfectly, but it drain a bit the battery, i think i can run my cruise 2 days without recharging (3G off, Bluetooth off, etc...)
Few phones, sms, direct push activated
Without the simore, i think it can last for 3 days.
Simore is a bit expensive but it's the only one who works correctly (3G) as far as i know.
Hope this could help you.

Thank seyo, some link to buy it?

It's here : http://www.simore.ch/
I don't make any pub and i don't work for them

Thanks a lot seyo23! Have you tried this adapter with phone alarm (you have the possibility of switching profile selecting cicle radio, my old adapter worked well with this soft and this automatize all needs...). Ciao

Guys, with this module you can have 2 different carriers activated at all times ?
my gf has different carrier than me and i want a different card to be able to talk with her limitless all the time.
Please someone specify how it works, i am interested a lot.

Only one active, switching fly mode on and off you can change carrier.
Hope this help you sedde. Ciao

I also tried a 20th generation adaptor and it works perfectly. Provider is also displayed correctly. Try to tape the lower 2 contacts at the sim holder, because Polaris has 8, but common sims and also adaptors only need 6. I also turned UMTS off, but i think there's no need to. It's a digital one with stk menu, can found at ebay for about 10€. Will report power consumption in a few days.
Mobile: german o² XDA Orbit 2 (Polaris)
Radiorom: Murata

Which one??

Sey023, could you tell us which dual sim card you use? The dual sim card Silver 1 or 2? They are different.
Regards,
Raymond

Be careful: If you want to use 3G there is no working digital dual sim adapter in the market at the moment (in fact, I haven't heard of one - even the Simore can't do that). Only the ananlogue adapters are capable of this feature so far.

Dual SIM cards: do they drain battery?

Hi folks!
What is your experience with dual SIM cards?
The SIM-Toolkit featured card is said to halve standby time.
This guy says, they don't: http://stores.ebay.de/multi-sim (emailed him)
The non-SIM-Toolkit card (switches SIM card via power off/on cycle or flight mode on/off) is said to not affect battery life.
But: There are many hardware revisions like 3rd generation, 4th, ... 10th generation and I guess they may differ in power consumption.
Thanks!
Grüß Gott!
I've been using a digital (= with STK) DualSIM for five months now and neither my Wizard nor my Nokia 9500 have sustained any appreciable loss of standby time.
But be aware, that none of the digital DualSIM adaptors work in 3G (= UMTS) mobiles!
regards,
Danke.
Someone reseller just told me, battery drain is caused by some stupid firmware on certain phones, not by the adapter.
My MPX220 seems to work well
From memory, I understand that some STK (Sim ToolKit) based dual sims could drain battery. Don't see how... but I use a power on/off switcher, which seems fine to me. Can't see how it works differently to a normal sim.

You only can use one at a time, you have a STK application to switch between SIMs, you have to cut the SIMs to put them inside the adapter.

I have also a non digital dual sim adapter, battery consuming is on the same level as without a dual sim adapter
http://www.hot-wire-telekom.de/inde...HW130010&uid=24e81e5fcfb3c8f97a3e4817e4a6330d
I have these for sale at £13 delivered anywhere in UK.
If interested e-mail me at [email protected]
Check my threads on the universal and orbit forums and you will know I am legitimate.
I also sell application cd's for this device for £6 delivered.
The problem with these dual SIM adaptors is that none so far are really made for 3G SIM cards. I know some 3G SIM cards work. Can people state where and what network they are on???
I personally was looking for one that you dont have to cut the SIMs... The Trinity seems to have a bit of space between and the phone so one fits easily. I dont mind if they dont have the STK application or if I have to switch the phone off each time to switch SIM...
Is anyone aware of any?

I'm using the same ANALOG-Dual-SIM-Adapter from Hot-Wire-Telekom with my Trinity!
You switch between SIM's by using the HTC-Comm-Application (switching Flight-mode ON/OFF)
Procedure: Switch Flight-Mode ON - wait 10-15 seconds - Switch Flight-Mode OFF
Works like a charm, but once in a while I get a SIM-error, but after repeating the switching-procedure everything works fine again. So no problem at all.
Highly recommended!
Also be aware of the fact that DIGITAL adapters (switch via SIM-Application-Tool) WONT work with UMTS-SIM's!!!!
Took me a long time (and 30 bucks) to realize this.
My Analog-adapter works fine so far with Hutchinson 3G Austria ("THREE" is an UMTS-only Provider) and Telering Austria (GSM-Only Provider).
Thanks for the info but you have to cut SIMs from:
http://www.hot-wire-telekom.de/inde...HW130010&uid=24e81e5fcfb3c8f97a3e4817e4a6330d
Is there a non-cut solution? I have cut in the past just would prefer not to
Plus must be a tight fit the Dual Sim Adaptor in the Trinity SIM slot... isnt it?

Only possible non-cut solution is sim emulator. Silvercard (SIMEmu 6.16i firmware) based one works perfectly on all my devices.
It supports up to 10 (or even more - don't remember) sim's and sized as an ordinary sim card. Silvercard itself is priced about 10$.
That were advantages. Drawbacks are:
You need a smartcard programmer (priced ~50$ but if you have some electronics and soldering experience you can diy in a hour).
3G SIMs are not supported at all.
Some 2G SIMs could not be copied to emulator too.
Analog 3G supported dual sim card adaptor?
Hi,
I use the 12th generation Digital dual sim card adaptor which works like a charm (with a 3G & 2G sim cards with cutting) but the only thing is that it drains the battery.
I this german analog dual sim adaptor supporting the 3G?
Is there any other producers or any links?
Thanks
Finally a good solution!
I've used the digital dual sim card adaptor (12th generation) which drains a lot of battery.
I purchased from freeyourmobile.com the power on/off dual sim card holder which works great with 3G cards. The battery does not drain any longer!!
This is a solution where u have to cut the original sims of course
Wow, I am very happy

Sim Switcher on Trinity
Hi guys...
I'm about to get a Trinity PDA and was wondering if it was possible to use a twin-sim adapter on it, this is how I came across your forum.
If I believe what I read it works fine, I was just wondering if the only way to operate it was to switch on and off the flight mode, or if a piece of software such as SimSwitcher (http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=19046) could help.
Thanks for answering

Hi,
No need to power off/on the HTC. Flight mode off/on is enough to change the network. You can also use sim switcher which works great.!!! No battery drain anymore!!!
Thanks for answering. I've purchased the thing and can say it's the best device I've had by far !
About Sim Switcher, can you tell me which simcard works with it ?
Thanks again

Dual SIM card adaptor works in Pro ?

I'm considering one of these as my next device.
One main issue for me is being able to use 2 sim cards in 1 device.
Currently I'm using good quality cut type dual SIM adaptor, has worked well in all my devies so far !
Anyone using this style of adaptor & can comment on how well it fits into SIM slot ect & if SDK menu functions correctly.
Thanks,
Hi Mister B,
So you're using a good quality cut type right now?
Which one?
It's always a bit confusing because there are soooo many out there.
I used to have a HTC Kaiser (until it was stolen).
In that one I used a 15th gen cut card.
Got my touch pro last saturday and have tried the 15th, 16th and 20th gen.
16th works flawless!
Just pick one up on ebay.
Didn't put the cover on the card just inserted it with a bit of care. Fits nicely.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
BuDDaH
Update
Well.. I cheered to early.
With my usim I loose connection every now and then.
I've ordered a 23rd gen sim to see if that's any better.
I use the magicsim ones.
they are cheaper than thet Simore ones (http://www.simore.ch/en/)
Would be interesting to see more responses!
Cheers,
B
My Simore X2 Gold does not work on my FUZE, flashed with ROMeOS 1.21
i have dual sim, but noname works fine..
Didn't these cards drain the battery?
they used to do it in the past, right?
so guys, are you satisfied with your dual sim cards? No battery isues?
Which one do you recommend for a Touch Pro? which gen?
BuDDaH what doyou recommend 16th Gen or 23rd Gen?
I've only found in ebay 16th & 20th, not 23rd.
Where can i find 23rd gen?, do you have a link?
thanks
I'd like to know as well...
RE
Hi!
Anyone knows where to buy the 23th-A Magicsim dual-sim card adaptor? Can provide a link?
Thanks
Hi all,..
I'm using a dual sim adaptor from multi-mobile.eu on my TP. The problem I have that when I switch from one sim to another, I cannot sent a SMS. "Phone is not ready" is the message. even when I wait for a long time. When I soft reset my device the problem is gone...
I also have certain connection problems. It seems that cutting the SIM card has given me a lower signal reception...
And using the auto switch option isn't so great. the auto switching will also take place when having a phone call, so the connection then is lost. Very anoying...
Regards,
A.

sorry but i didn't use ony of those adaptors, but it seems interesting!!
Can anyone of Dual Sim card users tell us if there are draining issues with the batteries?
i've heard in the past about issues wth the bateries when using dual sim cards but it maybe was with older generations?
Can anybody confirm it?
please share your experiences with us.
thanks
Well...
The link to the store where I got my 23rd sim is http://www.dual-sim.nl/
Info on the Magic Sim's can be found here http://www.magicsim.com/
Got mine today and........ NO GO!! Read somewhere that this one should not drain your battery as much.
I also had a 3rd gen card laying around and that one works very well. NO stk or 007 mode but the phone power toggle.
Bit strange that I can't seem to get the 16th gen working anymore.
Updated my radio to 1.02.25.28.
forgot who asked but you can't have 2 sim cards active at the same time.
I just forward the calls from 1 number to the other using a short dial assignment.
Edit:
http://www.dual-sim-adapter.com/era_en.html
Premium version:
- No impact on battery power
lets keep sharing our findings!
thanks BuDDaH, thanks for the valuable Info you have provided us.
Only one thing, I guess that the Premium you have bought dual-sim-adapter.com is a "CUT" version, right?
Do you think is better Dual Sims "CUT" than Dual Sims "NO CUT" versions?
I know that the dual-sim-adapter.com "No CUT" version is only for GSM Networks, it doesn't support UMTS Networks so this would be a good reason to stay in the "CUT" side, right?
Instead, the MagicSim dual-sim.eu "NO CUT" says it works too in UMTS Networks. But the Magic-Sim says "No excessive energy use" instead dual-sim-adapter.com PREMIUM syas "No impact on battery power".

dual-sim-adapter.com "NO CUT"

MagicSIM dual-sim.eu "NO CUT"
€19 / 3G-USIM Compatible / No excessive energy use.

MagicSIM dual-sim.eu "CUT"
€18,95 / 3G-USIM Compatible / No excessive energy use.
http://www.dual-sim.eu/product_info.php/products_id/150
Well... actually I didn't buy the Premium one from http://www.dual-sim-adapter.com/era_en.html
just added that link because of the power drain question that someone posted earlier.
Strange thing is that I used the 16th gen for a while that worked fine but suddenly stopped working all together (after having experimented a bit with other ones).
Still works fine in a 'normal' gsm.
I have used the no cut versions in the past in other smartphones (magician I think and artemis) but that was a real hassle. no room! there were people peeling of parts of their battery to make room.....
Had 3 g working on the 16th gen cut without a problem (worked for about 3 days)
Now I'm back to my 3rd gen cut solution that's an 'analog' one. Powertoggle the phone and you're switched.
This one works perfectly with 3g and my usim.
Concerning the extra power.. over the weekend I might do a little test with the battery status app and see what the increased power drain is.
All in all I guess we found a nice little market niche!
A dual sim adapter that works in the Raphael... did a search on the forum yesterday and there are similar threads for a lot of other HTC devices.
I did invest in a sim card cutting tool. Since I'm using a company sim I didn't want to screw it up.
(and first did a test run with some pre paid sims).
RE
Hi BuDDaH
So it's confirmed that you can't have 2 Sims active at the same time i.e. no 2 antennas or 2 numbers shown?
Secondly, it's also true that if 'X' Sim is active and if you want to use 'Y' Sim then you need to do a soft reset. Does that mean to say you cannot receive call for 'Y' Sim if 'X' Sim is active? I thought the 2nd Sim is on standby and switchover use is by selecting it?
If the answers are 'Yes' then is there any software that allows auto-switchover without the need for a soft reset in order to active the second Sim?
Do you require to have a special battery cover or any modification done in order to accomodate the dual-sim adaptor?
Thanks
Along with all the questions asked by FOSA, can I also ask if any one knows a place in london who does them?

Hi!
It's not possible to have 2 sims active at the same time. You would need 2 GSM radio's on board and the Touch Pro just doesn't have that!
With the 'analog' dual sim card that I'm using at the moment you don't have to do a soft reset. Just toggle the gsm radio! I know that someone wrote a little utility to do this with just 1 click. Is on the forum somewhere.
If 'X' is active that means 'Y' is not active. you can't receive calls on this card BUT nothing is holding you back to forward calls from Y to X before toggling! that's what I'm doing.
with the 'CUT' cards you don't need modifications to battery or phone cover.
Read that the 'older' analog cards don't consume extra power.
The newer digital cards can switchover automatically, you don't have to toggle the GSM radio and you have an extra menu on your phone. But there are issues with the digital models and WM pda phones.
AND SINCE ALL THE NEW SIMS ARE DIGITAL, IT ONLY MEANS THAT WE MIGHT NOT HAVE THIS THING WORKING... right???
Any more info on this???

As far as I know sims have always been digital!
When talking about 'analog' with the dual sim adapters it's a reference to the switching technology used.
So..... I've got it working without problems. 3G / USIM works as well.
Pretty happy with it!

Hello I bought the adapter from magic sim. No it does not drain any battery.
It fits with the original cover, a leather cover, original battery, anker battery.
However the switching times are not consistent 20-60 seconds so I sell it on ebay right now. This adapter is perfect if you don't need to switch so oftern (for example private/buisness) but if you want to switch more often like (1 sim SMS&telephone flat and the other one Internet flat) then it's not the right choice.
Just tell me your questions, I'll answer them
Hey
I wanted the dual sim to shift from 2g to 3g when needed.
So basically a normal shift only when required

Best options for 2 lines

Hi everybody.
I hope someone can help me because I've been researching for months and I'm running out of options.
First, I need to have 2 lines active at any moment, one local and another from a foreign country, in roaming. Most of the available phones are dual standby, what means that when you get a call in one SIM the other one is disconnected. That's not good enough, because I need to know if someone calls me to the foreign number while I'm talking in the local number.
When both numbers are from the same country, some people configures call forwarding from one SIM to the other. That way, if one SIM is unavailable, you get the call in the other. But having 2 numbers from 2 different countries that solution causes more expenses, the call forward is an international call...
So I've been working with a dual active smartphone: a Huawei Honor 8, one of the last ones with 2 antennas. It's been working good, but the second antenna is only 2G, and 2G is being disabled in some places as 5G arrives. I totally understand that, it has to die as 1G died before. But it causes me a lot of communication issues.
Some options I've been looking for:
- A dual active smartphone with 3G in the second antenna. But I don't find any new dual active smartphones manufactured in the last 3 years...
- I read a lot about 4G dual VoLTE, but it seems to be dual standby. It seems that, during a call, it uses VoLTE to forward calls to the disconnected SIM over the 4G data connection in the enabled SIM, but I'm not sure if this will work with SIMs from different countries -although both providers support VoLTE.
- An external device that gives my phone a second SIM -like PIECE in Kickstarter, that never delivered-.
- A second dumbphone with the foreign SIM, only for getting calls, very long batter duration. But the options seem to be very few, and less 3G/4G...
So I'm running out of ideas. Do you know any modern dual active smartphone with 3G in the secondary SIM? Do you know if VoLTE works for call forward with SIMs from different countries? Do you have any suggestion of a good reliable dumbphone for the second line? Do you have any other solution I didn't think aboyt? Please please, help. I really appreciate it.
L.
