Sim contacts - Touch Cruise General

Hi, I'm new and I have a problem to filter my sim contacts. I have just tried to edit the registry changing the value 1 to 0 in the string HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Control Panel / Phone but nothing.......after the soft reset the contacts are always visible.
Someone has the solution?
Thanks and have a nice day

Replace the 1 by 0
Press the top button for turn off your phone for approximativelly 1 min
Make a soft reset and it's done, Your SIM contact will disapeared...
Best regards

Did the same, however, if you do not soft reset then sim contacts disappear after the above tweak, but after soft reset, they re-appear and value of ShowSim turn to 1 again .... .
How to keep this change permenant even after soft resets as other registry tweaks don't change after resets but this conatcs thing does

Yes, it's true.....also I have tried to rename like "ShowSimold", to copy and change the value in 0 but nothing, after soft reset the value returns to 1 again.
In this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299848 there's a solution for WM6 but I do not know if it is ok for our Touch Cruise.

Quick keys (digits) now letters.

now I have no quick keys from digits, but only letters. I do not know like one can move this again. Hangs it maybe together with any other installed program?
some any ideas?
In the Registry, goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell
*press left softkey (values)
Change the DWORD value as follows:
HasKeyBoard = 0 (for numbers)
HasKeyBoard = 1 (for letters)
*a soft reset is not needed. but, in case it doesn't change anything automatically, a soft reset wouldn't hurt.
thanks to greatbal for this tip
Just delete all Sony-Ericsson phones from BT devices list.
Hello,
thank you very much! Now I have the HotKeys(Digits) again
Is it a bug with Sony-Ericson?
This is the bug of WinMobile, maybe.

Backlight when keyguard activated

Any ideas how I get the backlight to come on when the keyguard is activated? Its really hard to see the keys.
Also, in windows mobile 5 on my XDA mini s the keyguard deactivated when the passcode was entered. on this version the 'enter' button has to be pressed before the pass code is accepted. Can this be switched off?
Cheers!
James
I have the same questions... can anybody help us?

Hi there, could you tell me where you found the reg hacks? I would like to give it a go since I am desperate enough to try anything to sort this problem out.
This Registry entry swichtes on backlight when device is suspended and blocked:
Rename folder HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel to:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevelX
OK, accept = yes, Soft-Reset
It's somewhere in tricks thread, for me it works like a charm.

It's not working. Although I renamed HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel
-> HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevelX
After soft reset, HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel come back again & HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevelX appear to be a new registry entry.

Yes, that is right, both folders are there now. When creating LockLevelX, did you click in ok on the top / right side of screen ?
Rgds,
Yes I did that.
I thought your suggestion will turn the backlight on when we press the key while the key is locked.
Anyway your suggestion can help in the following scenario

I feel sorry when it's not what you were looking for. Anyway, "my suggestion" comes from HTC Polaris tweaks and tricks
Rgds,
Hi I found this 'fix' on google, i think it was on an HTC forum (i.e. via htc website).
I have O2 Orbit2 and had the dim screen on keylock/password lock. (While those who don't have it may not see the problem i couldn't actually tell if the machine was on or not, in sunlight, to unlock!)
The solution was to goto HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel
and change the value to 00000003.
The only issue is that on my Orbit2, using PHM regedit, this immediately 'fixes' the issue but reverts on reset!
Just means I have to re do the reg edit after every reset.
BTW have been very annoyed at the '10 second' backlight bug so am hoping locklevelx will fix that.
Very glad to say that renaming lock level to locklevelx has sorted out both problems! I now have both folders HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel&HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevelx
The backlight now goes off after 30 seconds when the keys are unlocked.
When the keys are locked the backlight stays on for ten seconds, it will then come back on for ten seconds with any button press or screen tap.
On resume from standby, locked or unlocked the backlight is on.
Step by step of what edits I made.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel; value set to 00000003;
then
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel renamed to HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevelx
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\ string battery timeout; value set to 30
SOFT RESET
Then looking at the registry
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel; has value 0
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevelx; has value 00000003 (displayed as 3)
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight Battery timeout = 30
As previously mentioned the renaming of the folder worked on my orbit II

How to unlock registry?

Hi all,
I'm still trying to fix problem with doubled contacts in People tab (sim contacts are there)
When I'm changing registry settings via TotalCommander or any other registry editor everything works fine ... till soft reset.
Then "Show SiM" option in registry back to "normal" = 1 :|
Have no idea what is wrong...is this some kind of registry protection ?
Regards
B.
For a registry change you need a power toggle.
With a softreset you'll loose the change.
But if you turn the device of and back on again, the change will have been saved.
Sounds weird, but it's really so, try it
I used advanced configurator but it seems that even though it sasys a soft restart is required after the soft restart it defaults back to showing them (even NO is the default :/)

Battery Status Icon in Taskbar Gone...Help

I was using the SPB Pocket Plus. After removing the SPB Pocket Plus. I have noticed the Battery Icon in taskbar gone. Now I want back the Default battery Icon back.
I have searched the many answers in the forum. but no results.
I have tried the registry :
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock and change to value to 1, exit using the apps exit function and not your X button, power off for 15 secs and power on to allow the registry edit to flush to the ROM and soft reset."
I have also searched "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINCE\Services\Power
-Change ShowIcon from 0 to 1. (1 = Show Icon)" but there is not any such registry in my mobile.
Kindly help me out to get back my Default Battery Icon in my HTC Touch (GSM)
Thanks
try Advanced Configuration Tool to get it back

Can´t change registry values

Hi,
I wanted to change some values e.g.
Turn off startup aninmation and sound: HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\ -> rename both “StartupGif” and “StartupWav” to other names
Click to collapse
Tried this with "CeRegEditor" http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/index.php?lang=en, but it says always "Write error", as if the registry is protected somehow.
Is there a trick to change the values? Where is my mistake?
Christian
Try a different editor like PHM Reg Editor.
With this prog it works. thx
just a side note. Keep in mind that sometimes some registry edits don't stick if you just do a soft reset via the soft-reset hole on the bottom of the device. Its best to Hold the power button and completely power down the device and then turn it back on.
