now I have no quick keys from digits, but only letters. I do not know like one can move this again. Hangs it maybe together with any other installed program?
some any ideas?
In the Registry, goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell
*press left softkey (values)
Change the DWORD value as follows:
HasKeyBoard = 0 (for numbers)
HasKeyBoard = 1 (for letters)
*a soft reset is not needed. but, in case it doesn't change anything automatically, a soft reset wouldn't hurt.
thanks to greatbal for this tip
Just delete all Sony-Ericsson phones from BT devices list.
Hello,
thank you very much! Now I have the HotKeys(Digits) again
Is it a bug with Sony-Ericson?
This is the bug of WinMobile, maybe.

Hi all,
I am wondering how to change the 4 soft key mapping in order to affect them another program.
This is because the 2 softkey are beginning to break themselve and I would liek to affect the 2 other softkey to do the same (i.e. affect them "Contact" and "start")... see the picture.
I already have some registry trick:
(HKCU\Software\Microsoft
Create a key named 'Home' in here ,and then another key named 'Keys', and then ANOTHER key named '113'.
First Value: 'Default'
Value Data: The text you would like on the key ... (GPC on sample screenshot)
Second value: 'Open'
Value data = "PATH OF EXE or LNK FILE" <--- example is "\Windows\tmail.exe" (it is important to enclose them in quotes)
There is no need to restart device. Just click on the right soft key, press the Home button, and then you'll see the change!)
However i'd like to know what would be the number of the 4 softkey on my QTEK 8310. Anyone know the kay mapping of this device?
Moreover, I'd like to know how "start menu" is launched by the left softkey (what exe is this in the /windows folder?)
Thanks a lot
I uninstalled FunContacts, did multiple soft resets, cleaned with MemMaid, and my Phone Left Soft Key that says "Contacts" is still looking for FunContacts and gives me an error message that FC cannot be found. I emailed FC, however, no response. Softkeys work fine on the Today Screen. All the remapping programs out there just identify and do the Today Screen Soft Keys.
Does anyone have info on remapping the softkeys on the Phone Screen?
Thanks in advance if you do.
This worked for me, had the same problem:
Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCONTACTS
# Change "String 1" value from "\Program Files\FunContacts\Funcontacts.exe" to ":MSPOUTLOOK contacts".
Make sure that you don't add the "" on the new entry.
Still need help on Phone Screen Soft Buttons....
Thanks for the fix, however; I had already completed a hard reset.
I still want to change the "Contacts" soft button on the Phone Screen to SPB Contacts vs. the build in contacts. I have Sbp Shell and love it, however; it does not change the phone's soft key for contacts.
In the registry entry you mentioned, it is totally blank. I have tried to a string that leads to the Spb Contacts, however, the registry editor will not accept it.
If anyone knows how to change the Phone's (Not the Today Screen) soft keys, please help.
Thanks!!
Hi All,
I have been trying to get japanese input working on my Raphael, and have run into some problems. Here's what I have done:
1. Installed LesJapanNo6 - all working/tested no problems
soft reset
2. Installed IME_31J_QVGA_F file
soft reset
-> manila.exe error, device.exe error, and another exe error (can't remember now - think it was TouchFlo3d related). Hardware keys dead.
3. Made the registry edit to get hardware keys working
soft reset (note, regional settings still Japanese)
After that, every time I would try and input something, or change the input method, I get ongoing crashes in device.exe (until I closed the kayboard).
I then decided to change the regional setting back to English (UK), and then soft reset. Now it starts with no errors, but input is stuck on hiragana and the keyboard icon has disappeared so no standard romaji input.
I think I now have to install the enable_ime_2 and/or enable_ime_3 cabs, but am paranoid I have already done something wrong (crashes etc from step 2). Can anyone more experienced hint at the final steps to get this all working?
Thanks,
Raj
The steps you have above should work fine, but use the VGA version:
http://rapidshare.com/files/159514259/IME_31J_F.cab.html
You might need to go ahead and hard reset before you try again.
Just for reference, I have LetsJapanNo6 and IME_31J_F on my Raphael 1.90.405.1 WWE (UK stock ROM), with the following reg tweaks applied:
Code:
[HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload]
default = "E0010411"
[HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1]
default = "E0010411"
[HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IMEJP\3.1\MSIME]
Option3 = "D"
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010411]
Keyboard Layout = "00000409"
Word of caution: when you go to edit the reg values, highlight the text and write over it; don't use the backspace key, because for some reason it inserts a lot of garbled text. Once you've saved the reg edits and soft-reset, the backspace key functions as normal again.
Also consider using PQzII to map keycode 0xE6 to IME; this will allow you to press the SYM key on the hardware keyboard to toggle between ascii (A→a) and kana (A→あ) input.
Other known issues: JP IME breaks T9/word suggestion, some other minor oddities.
SoftBank is releasing its version of the Raphael, so be on the lookout for a native JP ROM (which will have everything set up correctly) in the future.
Working perfectly now, fantastic!!!
Thanks!!!
I tried to map the SYM button to IME. But there is no way for me to specify 0xE6 in the IME menu.
is the new Raphael PQzII different?

I typed it in.
I'm using 008e1, but the latest e2 should be fine.
I have had this working for about a month now but was wondering how to get a keyboard shortcut to switch the kana/romanji input. This works perfect.. thanks!!!
thanks!!!
just a shot question:
as I use the hw-kb of my xperia for inputting text, it would be cool to have the tegaki-kb as standard one. Whenever I set it in Windows Mobile-Settings, it gets switched back to romaji-kb on restart.
is there a reg-hack for this?
would greatly appreciate your help!!!

It might be a problem with Xperia Panels resetting it to romaji-kb (TouchFlo3D does the same thing on the Touch Pro).
If you use PQzII, you can configure it to override the default input panel. You can even specify different default panels for portrait and landscape. Just open up the setup program (PQzII_Setup) and the settings is on the first page.
nevermind, got everything working!
thanks!
If I try to use the on-screen keyboard, Full QWERTY option, I can only get the nine numeric/symbol keyboards.
There's an "ABC" button next to the spacebar, but selecting it does nothing but make it enlarge to show me that it knows I'm pressing it.
Anyone else have this problem? Or, more importantly, a fix?
I was just starting to like ol' Mr. Full Qwerty, too...
I suddenly am having the same problem...
I installed Radio Rom 1.14.25.35 and poof, the "full qwerty" keyboard was broken.
Can't seem to get it resolved :-(
Hope someone has a fix (couldn't find one in search), I'd really hate to hard-reset/install a new rom just to fix this.
I forgot to mention that it "broke" right after I did the reghack to turn on Suggested Words:
IMPORTANT: be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0.
Change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409
* Value of Ime File from \windows\xt9ime.dll to \windows\compime.dll
* Value of Layout Text from XT9 IME to COMP IME
And soft reset. To revert back, simply reverse the steps above.
Didn't work

This did not work for me. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? The compact Qwerty will not type letters either. Only numbers are typed when you push the letters.
I am having the same issue
I dont recall installing anything and it just happened. First it wouldnt answer when i would get an incoming call, I would have to call evferyone back and now my full and compact qwerty keyboard wont let me use the alphabewt just numbers... I have to use the letter recognizer now is the ONLY way I can text seeing my pullout keyboard stopped working a long time ago...wtf is going on with these TP's?
I have samsung sgh-i600 and suddenly I can type only numbers unless i use the outer keyboard keys such as W.
I have tried to press FN or CAPS or 123 keys and nothing happends...
Any ideas?
Thanks
Try change keyboard layout
Run registry editor
search HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409\
and change MappingID to 0x410(1040)
and reboot the device
well, what i found on my sgh-i600 is different registry keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKEY_CLASS_ROOT
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\preload there is a defualt value of e0010409
so where can i change th keys upper or lower text selection?
HKLM is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
so change Mapping ID in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409\
