Work perfectly on mine. (re)tested this afternoon. I use the same version of TomTom as you (the one provided by HTC) and the "Western and Central Europe" card at version level 675.1409.
Since now I used a TomTom Go 910. I haven't see any differences in GPS precision between the 910 and the Polaris. The GPS into the Polaris is very fast (signal acquisition and responsiveness). Just be sure to have a power cable into the car to avoid a battery problem (GPS is very battery consuming) !

Had a similar problem with destinator. Showed that I was off the road. Uninstalled and re-installed. seems to be working fine now.

Simple GPS Software

Hi
Are there any simple offline GPS softwares? I'm looking for a software which gives me my coordinates, speed and the direction which I'm going, but doesn't need online maps. Smart2go can be used offline if you downloaded some maps, but somehow it doesn't seem that accurate.
I've been only able to find non-free aplications which are a bit outdated.
Thanks.
Can Google Map do that?
Nope. Google Maps complains about not being connected to the internet I open it.
Sorry double reply...
Why not use the TomTom GPS driver from version 3 this will do everything you ask for http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=13
Mike
Have a look at this one: http://www.u-blox.de/products/u_center/u_center_mobile_view.html

Hiya: I use Noni GPS Plot; it's still a beta application I think, but it's very useful when I'm walking. It's a bit like an old Garmin I had - you can set a waypoint, wander around (and it draws a track behind you) and set co-ordinates to head back to the car when you're done.
You can input maps but you don't have to.

Try BeeLineGPS
It's easy and powerfull
If you really need something simple but yet power, see this
http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce/
It's by the same developer of BeeLineGPS - best yet, it's free.
Terracrosser
Try Terracrosser.
It is free offline GPS navigation software, works with Google Maps and Yahoo! Maps.

3 min to get GPS signal?

Hi...
is there any solution to get it quicklier?^^
this quickgps thing isn't really the sh**... and tomtom tooks a lot of time to get a gps signal ('round 2-3min)
thankz
try using PHM RegEdit and doing the GPS tweak listed in the HTC Raphael Tweaks thread, i did that and a soft reset, after waitin 1-3 minutes before my GPS connected in about 6 seconds... Seems to work for me, i did the QuickGPS thing at the same time before soft reset but i tried that before and alone it didnt do anything so the tweak must be the answer...
Yea, another thread about GPS. YEA.

wow, i haven't heard that before
/end sarcasm
moral of the story, don't be a ****
still, letmegooglethatforyou.com is pretty cool....
My understanding is this:
2-3 minutes is a normal Warm Start delay for a TP with quickGPS ephemeris data. That being said, I've seen (far) less with mine. I'm still unsure how it can happen without AGPS active when you're outside the direct "Hot Start" window (ephemeris data received directly from satellite and its still visible).
I agree on the letmegooglethatforyou.com.....
But I also agree with KD8DNS, please, not another GPS thread...

Is there a NAV app that stores all the maps locally

I was using Google Maps in Tenn and if it didn't get a signal it didn't show the map. There should be some way to set it to cache a certain area. Perhaps a 50 mile radius of my location.
Also does anyone know of a maritime app that would have local lakes kept in memory. I tired one on the market that would have cost 10 or so bucks but it did not have Lake Norris on it.
IGO works....

Ive never had a problem out of google nav (live in knoxville)
but i too have been searching for a nav software with lake/river info on it
Easy
Get CoPilot. Has worked pretty well on the EVO. Not sure it's been updated for 2.2, it took a **** on me when I tried to load it up after a Titanium restore from 2.1. *Edit, after updating it works fine with 2.2

Brut Navigation is a good option too....really all it is is a hack for google nav where it's all the same but can save maps and a few other options and its free
my dad has copilot on his evo and it works pretty well

P6200 support glonass gps network...?

I've always been delighted about gps performance on my p6200...
Checking the satellites it's catching it looks to me it is making use of glonass satellites too...

As you can see from the screenshot above it receives informations from satellites numbered with high numbers like 77, 86, 80 and so on that are not reached (on the same position) by another android phone that supports only the gps system (nexus s)
What kind of gps chip is this tablet making use? Could it be the same broadcom that powers the galaxy note?
The GTPlus does have a stronger GPS, it pulls down 18 satellites while my Bionic only pulls down 10. It's hard to say if those extra ones are being run by the Russians though. I wouldn't put it past them being they have been sending subs to our Gulf of Mexico and Bombers over Alaska lately....

Samsung is not American company and btw I phone 4s has glonass too
Btw I'm pretty confident those additional satellites (and the very good gps performances) are due to the additional glonass network

Got it two days ago....
Installed this last night. Went for a walk in the morning, no GPS data.
Was working fine yesterday before the update.
Using gnss app, does not show any satellites.
Anyone having issues with GPS?

I have not received the latest FW in NLD for GW4 yet. Now GPS on watch is working fine, hope update won't break mine too.
I installed the GNSS (thanks for the tip) and although I reveived a remark that the app wouldn't work on the GW4, it perfectly does. I will use it to check after the FW update.
Please do report your issue to Samsung. Easy way is through the Samsung Members app.
(Support - Send Feedback - Error reports). That way Samsung is aware and they can investigate and solve when indeed a hard-/software issue of the GW4.
After a few restarts, of the watch and phone (note 20 ultra) it seems to acquire location. Need to test it with a few walks. I'll let you know how it goes
