Hi...
is there any solution to get it quicklier?^^
this quickgps thing isn't really the sh**... and tomtom tooks a lot of time to get a gps signal ('round 2-3min)
thankz
try using PHM RegEdit and doing the GPS tweak listed in the HTC Raphael Tweaks thread, i did that and a soft reset, after waitin 1-3 minutes before my GPS connected in about 6 seconds... Seems to work for me, i did the QuickGPS thing at the same time before soft reset but i tried that before and alone it didnt do anything so the tweak must be the answer...
Yea, another thread about GPS. YEA.

wow, i haven't heard that before
/end sarcasm
moral of the story, don't be a ****
still, letmegooglethatforyou.com is pretty cool....
My understanding is this:
2-3 minutes is a normal Warm Start delay for a TP with quickGPS ephemeris data. That being said, I've seen (far) less with mine. I'm still unsure how it can happen without AGPS active when you're outside the direct "Hot Start" window (ephemeris data received directly from satellite and its still visible).
I agree on the letmegooglethatforyou.com.....
But I also agree with KD8DNS, please, not another GPS thread...

Work perfectly on mine. (re)tested this afternoon. I use the same version of TomTom as you (the one provided by HTC) and the "Western and Central Europe" card at version level 675.1409.
Since now I used a TomTom Go 910. I haven't see any differences in GPS precision between the 910 and the Polaris. The GPS into the Polaris is very fast (signal acquisition and responsiveness). Just be sure to have a power cable into the car to avoid a battery problem (GPS is very battery consuming) !
Had a similar problem with destinator. Showed that I was off the road. Uninstalled and re-installed. seems to be working fine now.
Hi All,
A friend of mine got himself a iPhone.
Without customs builds, SDKs, etc... I still think the home
cooked builds for WM are much better.
One thing I envy is that apparently his WiFi is alway on.
Having that on it connects to all the networks it can
saving/speeding lots of data for professional use of
a mobile device (I use it as my mobile office).
What is most desirable is that his battery doesnt
seem to run out any more faster.
I tried to use once with my WM and my device asked for
more juice in 3 hours.
Is there a driver / app that can use the wifi hardware as iPhone does ??
some kind of passive WiFi mode ???
Cheers,
Smartin

I also have a friend with an iPhone right here with me and his does not stay connetcted when the phone is put to sleep mode, well it will stay connected for 30 seconds and then shut down. I verified this by pinging his phone from my PC, after 30 seconds of sleep - no answer and my router lost it from its lists of clients. BUT it was wery quick to aquire the signal after waking up. I then set the IP lease to 3 minutes and put the iPhone to sleep for 5 minutes just to be sure and then it took the usual 5-7 seconds to aquire IP again so it seems to me its using som kind of quick connect settings as long as the lease doesn´t expire.

The last version was for use on WM6.1, but i found that it doesn´t work well on the last 6.5 version. It´s a wonderful app, it cut´s all data connection at a given time, 1 min, 5 min etc... When you aren´t using data connection the app simply turn´s it of. Really good to save the baterry and you gprs data plan.
Does anyone use this app on the HD2? Is there any other like it?
Can anyone update it?
The software devolper said to me that he only works on iphone know. It´s a bummer because for me this is a must have on any windows mobile phone.
Any help? Please.
Thanks in advance.

Very nice, I didn´t knew that app, it´s very nice! Only prob, lots of translations and none in PTG, I´m sticking to the ENG one.
Many thanks. Very usefull.
Going to try how it works.

But I can never get a lock past 800 meter accuracy at my house. Not that I would need it but it makes me wonder. Even if I go in my backyard, nothing.
If you go to settings > location & security, is Use Wireless Networks enabled? If not then enable it.

Yes i know, but I'm just basing this off of the GPS. I get locks if I use my wifi. But my gps is really shotty and I'm not sure how if 5 sattelites are visible why I'm getting 800m accuracy. Im wondering if somethings wrong cause i get bad gps in general.

Hi,
I experiencing problems with my gps, as it seems to not be working. Don't think it has ever actually has been working, that all my positions where retrieved trough network.
Tried the following:
- upgraded to latest OS(4.4.3),
- updated all my apps
- tested in safe mode
- reset to factory defaults.
And it still doesn't retrieve any position, which makes me concerned it is hardware related. Attached a screenshot from my gps app and version of my nexus 5 Location is set to: High Acuracy
Anyone have any tips??

I had a similar issue with my Nexus 5. No amount of rebooting/reinstalling was helping, until I realised one corner of my phone was pried open, probably when I dropped it the day before. I pushed it back in, and all of a sugged GPS is back to normal.
So I'm afraid your problem sounds like a hardware issue. Did you drop it recently?
