Question to Quentin - Q Mobile 1.2 - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I read the Wiki page for Q Mobile 1.2. I never flashed any ROM in my Tilt yet. I removed all the AT&T specific boltwares (Hard reset and after WM6 install, soft reset before AT&T Cingular boltware are starting to install). This gives me around 110MB free space.
I use Kaiser Tweak to stop the scroll sound and increase the touchflo sensitivity and other features. The usability is good and fast enough until i install anything on it.
I have a basic question. I see different versions of ROM, Radios floating around. I am guessing all the ROM's are the same windows mobile 6 with certain features removed / added. I assume every ROM maker aims for more free space and Ofcource some windows tweaks (compramise the feature - some people think certain features are crap).
Right now i have 110 MB free space in my Tilt. (Nothing loaded except WM6). Your ROM has 145MB free space. If I install your ROM and install 35MB of applications (say 15 applications) can i assume that the device will perform with the same speed like my current Tilt with 110 MB free space?
I am just trying to understand. Also, are you rewritting and compling certain codes of WM6 itself for performace. I am not even sure if SDK is available for WM6.
Thanks.

In no way will it perform the same as your Tilt currently does--it should be far better. The reasons for this are many--beginning with the fact that it has a much newer operating system core. Then there are MANY cache, registry, file, etc tweaks that go into my ROM.
In any case, there are clear instructions for going back to your ROM so what you should probably do is install HardSPL and try some custom ROMs and see what a difference there actually is. Cheers,

Thank you very much for your instance response. It gives more confidence. My first ROM flashing start with your Q-Mobile 1.2 ROM. I will read Wiki page for other instructions. couple more yes/no questions.
1) I see clear storage CAB in your WIki page. That will do the same job like it does in current tilt - reverting back to your factory setting?
2) The newer Radio is something released by AT&T itself for public?
3) "Compatible with 1.27.14.x Radios and includes the 1.27.14.09 radio". I assume this ROM comes with a reliable Radio.
4) Can i install any WM6 applications or are there any issues reported on any applications. (I saw the newer camera version has issues)
Thanks.

Yeah its the same as pressing the two soft keys and resetting the device...I don't include it by default because its redundant for that very reason. But people have requested it so I provide it as a CAB you can install.

Yeah, it comes with the 1.60 and 1.61 ROMs from AT&T.

Right, just remember that if you go to a non-Tilt rom someday to download one of the 1.27.12.x radios from the link in the Wiki. It is common for "Tilt" branded ROMs to include the 1.27.14.09 radio because currently its the only one in its class. But there are MANY versions of the 1.27.12.x series radios so ROMs compatible with those traditionally don't include a radio--you can use whichever suits you.

You can install pretty much anything you want. It is encouraged. You may find things that don't quite work, but thats why this forum isn't called "Kaiser Everything Works Upgrade At Will" Most apps do though.

Thank You So Much. You Are So Kind And Great!!

Which flavour would you prefer?

Hi all,
Yet another Poll,
Please vote in order to help us set some priorities and focus on the next Roms.
Vanilla : -- Speaks for itself -- Basic OS
Business : -- Vanilla with Productivity Tools/Apps/Utils (M$Voice Command, Pim Backup, Full Office, Cambirdge BT Stack,Tray Launch to mention a few)
Full Flavour : -- Whatever we can cram into the Rom that benefits your average user.
Vanilla With Cabs : -- Cab files on extended Rom to install Apps at will.
Please feel to post any apps utils (Freeware/ShareWare only) that you would like included or feel would be useful to the rest of the community.
Cheers,
Regards,
Beast
+1 for Vanilla & Cabs - Since thats what the Extended ROM is for anyway...
Also, this allows you to easily customise\uninstall what you don't need
I vote either for vanilla. having the extended rom free for the most important document has become important for me.. business may be interesting too if not too much filled up

I couldn't agree more!
An extended ROM with all the cabs present in the business version (including VC final version ) would allow any newbie to customize is won ROM.
Just open the extended ROM and select the wanted cabs.
If you provide the cabs and an extended ROM it would be even better!!
+1 For Full Flavour
The more space you can use on the ROM the better. Vanillas just waste ROM space since the only way you can put anything on the ROM is by flashing. I'll just take out anything on startup that I don't need.
best option for every one: Vanilla + CABs.
i, for example, cannot stand having voice command installed.
other ppl wouldn't like msn live installed. etc etc...
the debate is endless - everyone likes something else to be installed or uninstalled.
this is why vanilla + cabs would do the best job satisfying everyone.
storage space would be compermised though. but thats the sacrifice we have to make.
More storage more storage
OK,
So far the majority seem to prefer Vanilla and cab version, yet we also want to keep extended rom.
What if we go for exteneded Rom, unhidden, writeable and renamed to storage, then you can install any apps in there you wish.
We could make the cabs available (with an auto-install option too if you wish) and they install from your SD Cards.
This way it may keep the majority happy you get an extra 10mb storage to play with (rather than having the cabs in it) and anything you want auto-installed after 1st boot you simply copy to say "Install" Dir on your SD Cards.
There's another option to mull over guys!

Is getting hard to wait for such a wonderful ROM!!!
Vanilla + cabs. But when I say Vanilla, I don't mean removing things such as Windows Live - which is part of WM6!
possibly use the method i pioneered? you cook in as many programs as you can (full flavour) BUT you leave out the registry and shortcuts for them, and stick those in cabs. the result is a vannilla + cabs rom that has much more free storage. also (you probably know this) try to use initflashfiles as little as possible as it copies them from rom to storage memory, where ever possible (almost always) leave things in the windows dir and change the shortcuts + reg to match that.

I agree, all the apps that normally come with WM6 (namely Windows Live & MS Office) should definitely be included in ROM 100% - then we can call that "vanilla" (anything else would just not be "WM6"). And possibly a better Bluetooth stack, as technically that would just be a "bugfix".

Hi,
So it looks like, some people want Vanilla and some want Vanilla without the "essence" LoL.........
We'll see what we can do.
Almost there with VC so Roms shouldn't be too far off now.
Keep y'all posted.
Maybe we'll just release another kitchen update more automated than the last ones, I'm toying with an "AutoBuild" option on the kitchen to throw out pre-configured Roms based on a tick box GUI. Basically fire up the kitchen make your selection, click go, have a coffee, Rom built and flashed.

Hi all,
Leo and I are going to re-design the kitchen (rather than cooking a load of Roms)
I'll update the Kitchen (with bug fixes included) and add a front end that will allow you all to choose what flavour you want and have a one click build and flash process. Toying with the idea of also having a custom build that allows you to choose which oems to install as well as adding oems for commonly used apps such as SPB Phone, SPB Today, CorePlayer etc with the option to enter your serial numbers before cooking or build with demo version installed (but this requires a lot more work to incorporate so we'll see how it goes)
Items fixed so far wifi wpa
fully-functional phone (quick responding keys) The response was slow and Talk button doesn't always work.
Ringtones on SD Card.
New Email account creation
Thanks again to Leo for his help with all of this.
Cheers,
Beast
hi, just to let you know i will be back, thanks to pug i've brought the its i needed to fix my Universal, however i also have my new athena so i wont have enough time to maintain a whole rom release but, if you guys doing the kitchen have anything you want doing i could help with that

Almost all the latest version wm6 custom builds have a separate "Vanilla Rom" for kitchens and cooking. It's not possible to have original official Microsoft Wm6 Base Rom for download. The Base Roms available are all ported from official Roms of carrier's and vendors.
Besides, either install WinXP or partition and 'Dual Boot' WinXP on the same PC and HD.
how can i get these roms?
how can i get these roms i mean to fit into the wizard help me make one plz
See my signature.
I'm running it on T-Mobile, but its generic - not built specifically for that carrier, and should work on any CID-unlocked Wizard.
Its fast, stable, and works.
Would you be willing to give a few details?
This sounds interesting. Would you be willing to give a few essential details: what app's are built-in, the amount of memory left, OS version?...
Thanks, man.

Sure... base is 5.2.1933; I'm running Radio 2.25.11, but that is NOT in the ROM.
Builtin:
Standard games
Esmertec Java
Adobe Reader
Camera
Comm Manager (10 button)
Internet Sharing AND DUN
Standard WM6 VOIP
SmartSkey
Other standard utilities (e.g. Windows Media, etc)
Advanced Config 1.0 (0.9 blows up with enhanced comm managers)
Windows CE Update (never seen anything yet, but the tool is there)
Enhanced WM6 Task Manager
Total Commander
OXios CloseApps/Hibernate
ClearTemp
Enhanced Contact Manager
MMS
Its a fairly vanilla ROM.
I have a lot of stuff I load from CABs as well, including HTC Home, BatteryTool, VoiceCommand, TomTom6, etc.
There's almost no storage memory used in the base load; I've got some stuff in use now as I have a bunch of CAB-loaded (and PC-loaded) stuff.
The only "bugs" I am aware of is that I've got issues with the MMS tool (configuring it - if I load the T-Mo CAB for MMS it works but that screws up connections when on sync) and during a call "directory info" isn't on the call status screen. The latter I'm not certain of the cause of, but I'm looking for a fix for that.
The really cool change I've noted is that it is 100% reliable at "ringing through" calls while data is being run. Not just with GPRS up, but with actual data transfers underway. I can be watching ORB'd TV and if someone calls the phone rings - every time. This has never, never worked before on any of the other ROMs I've used.
In addition the battery life is amazing. I've never left the phone with WiFi enabled unless in active use because it used to EAT battery power. With this ROM consumption is easily 30% better than with the others I've run. Not sure why the huge difference, but it is major - I used to run the battery basically flat in an hour watching ORB over EDGE, now I get nearly double that without a sweat. Its a BIG difference.
I'm on T-Mobile; YMMV.
I've played with a LOT of the different builds on here and all have been incredibly frustrating to one degree or another. This is the first WM6 load I've had on my Wizard that I actually LIKE.
I can build with other apps "builtin" but in general there's not THAT much that I want that's not in there or that I don't have as a CAB on my storage card, so loading from a CAB is pretty quick and painless anyway, since its only done once.
its a munn tho i dont want pplz looking at the app data saying mun
Thank you
Thank you. This sounds great - I'm going to try it. Have been running an NTS ROM for a long time now (similar idea), perhaps it's time to try a new one...

Cool, i like your description for this ROM, i JUST flashed my first wizard for the first time up to the recommended T-mobile 2.26 and was looking for something to replace it, wm6 preferred, but stable, fast, and not bloated. I will be trying this out, for wizard G3's right?
got it running, runs pretty good. two problems:
Pocket office is broken.
I can't get the task thing where I supposedly hold down the X to exit a program completely to work, what gives?
I'll look at office.... I have a second copy of that package - let me see what's up with that.
The "Hold X" thing is BS. Smarskey is in this load; hold the right soft key ("Contacts" at the top screen, but anywhere) to close a program instead of minimizing it. That's what I've used since WM5 and I VASTLY prefer it to the other hacks.
Let me play with this some and I'll post something here.
I have the Office problem and the "no call detail during a call" problems resolved; working to verify that all the other packages don't interact badly with the fixes and then will post here with a new load.
It may take me a day or two to go through all my regression testing.
OK, it appears to be fixed up. New load available on my Signature and I've started a thread for it.
There are a few more tools in this one.
I just want to note that I ended up having to flash to TNT 1933 during thanksgiving week (was in D.C. as well on vaca) because i found the ROM to be really unstable. Had to do a lot of soft resets, hard reset once, nowhere near as much as this TNT rom, but the TNT isn't perfect either.
I did like the ROM, but the stability wasn't there for me for somereason. Right now i'm having an issue with not getting voicemail notifications :/
I used Genesis3's baserom and made it my own with the proper props to him in my thread. he fixed the 1933 build and i just added ****

Balderdash! See here for the MS base ROM for the Wizard. This was apparently a late development ROM used on the Wizard for development purposes (internally called "Dogfood"). You'll have to extract it in HyperCore Kitchen. It's definitely the only MS base ROM ever made for the Wizard. I've made some minor changes to make it a bit more usable in base form, but everything else is the same.

Fastest Kaiser Cooked ROM in the world?!

Hi everyone,
Done a search that yielded inconclusive results. My question is:
What is the fastest kaiser cooked rom made so far, based on user comparisons and most importantly benchmarking?
Please state it as clearly as possible e.g.
1. ROM1
Benchmark results xxx.xxx
I feel that... comments...
2. ROM2
Benchmark results xxx.xxx
I feel that... not as fast as ROM1 because... comments...
Thank you very much for the input, I hope this will be very informative for kaiser owners who are thinking of flashing a rom but don't know which one to choose since there are so many!
I am actually running Dutty's v1.1 dualtouch rom, the latest one, and still experienced the occasional 30 second freeze which was frustrating.
Gerald
Dutty's SupaLite Rom at http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/index.php?path=Lite+Roms/
Sorry no benchmaks... not yet anyway.
Its Custel 2.1
Its custel 2.1 non touch version.
Dutty Dual Touch 1.1
pagepool change to 24mb.
no benchmark.
speed is acceptable, as compare with most of the cooked rom
but definitely much much slower than my artemis

Sorry for the thread-jack but it does pertain to performance.
If I do the following:
1.) Make a backup using sprite backup (Dutty's 7b for example)
2.) Flash the same rom with a changed page pool (again, Dutty's 7b)
3.) Restore my backup
Does that in effect nullify the changed page pool? Or is the page pool buried deep enough that restoring from a sprite backup will not change it?
Thanks
-Brett.
We all in search of a fastest and max. features and most stable ROM.
I have chasing these ROMs myself for last few months.
Something I experienced quite surprised me and I would rather have people starting thinking of discuss their experience about it.
I have an old AdamExec which I didn't think was that fast so I bought a Touch. Touch felt a little faster but as soon as I load it with applications found out it has very little storage memory. Flash with a custom BigStorage ROM, speed never be the same ... not there.
Then saw a Sprint Phone which was quite fast, so as soon as AT&T got its Tilt, I bought that too. I flash the Tilt continuously for past two months. I didn't find the speed was that fantastic, it is acceptable, but not quite what I want.
Going back to AtomExec, it was on WM5, slow, flashed with a WM6 ROM cooked by Chartreux. Wow, it was suddenly came alive, faster than my Tilt. No waiting of half to 2 secs or 3 secs for every screen. It is always like instantaneous to half second. You can alway try Start -> Setting -> System right after the machine reboot you can sense the speed. Open up Windows directory is another good test. I don't care about bench numbers. I really had no complain on the speed of the AtomExec then but the machine freezes more than I expected with that ROM, besides the Bluetooth and Camera still had some problems. Also as soon as I installed more softwares, it starts to slow down.
Avoiding some applications probably will help lot more than keep searching for faster ROM. I believe getting a clean ROM first, install all the applications under its Program Files directory instead of Windows directory. There are almost 3,000 files, big and small in Windows directory, way more than that of Windows XP system. The HTC home itself contribute to tons of little files no wonder people said it was one of the apps that makes the machine slow. The EndKey also produces a tones of small files. I also suspect the Battery Status also has some effect on the performance.
My point is some applications may take a lot of resource and/or continuously running in the background and eating up the performance of the machine. Avoiding resource hogging semi-useful applications maybe a better move that trying to splitting hair with each good customer ROMs.
Okay I get it. Thanks for the information jychan28!
so basically lite roms + lesser programs = best performance.

This would not affect page pool...things you can restore from a backup never touch ROM files/settings.
Insane benchmarks!!! Someone else please test?
I was amazed when I saw jpope's benchmark posted in my ROM thread. Compare it against cashn's thread with his benchmark results and you'll be amazed as I was.
I'd perform the tests myself, but I've noticed that people tend to place less credibilty when the ROM chef publishes them.
So is anyone else willing to test & publish the results on my ROM to confirm these insane benchmarks???
Thanks in advance
it looks like the difference came from the file index.
maybe the storage card was different?
cpu and graphic indexes are very similar to other benchmarks

[PreRelease BigStorage] Just2Clean and Two New Kitchen [Updated:04.22.08]

Update: 04/22/08
This is a release for the ROM and the porting kitchen. It does not port XIP's, yet, just SYS folders, but it does what it needs to do. I haven't tested it in more than just one port, though. The one I did test came out perfect, though.
The ROM has 63.XXmb FREE storage and 31.XXmb free with SD RAM.
To flash it you MUST have a HardSPL'ed Herald or Wing and a microSD card. Just place the HERAIMG.nbh into the SD card's root directory. Do NOT rename it to anything else. Then hold the camera button down while you turn on the device and then press the volume down slider when it asks you to. Wait until it says it's done. I haven't tried to run any activesync other than to an exchange server so tell me if that isn't working.
I'll be done with finals this week and then I can finally work on the other kitchen.
I'll upload it when I come back from school.
Update #2: 04/14/08
Just added a screenshot. Mind you, this is WITH SD card AND after I installed my "troubleshooting" tools.
Update: 04/14/08
60mb of FREE storage space.
32mb RAM with no SD
30MB RAM with SD
No compression (I'll probably released a UPX'd version, as well...)
Fixed all bugs found so far except for two. Maybe you guys can help me figure them out... the sad part, I've fixed these same two bugs countless times in my other ROMs, but I just can't remember how I did it. lol
1. Comm Manager: It doesn't matter what comm manager I place in there, it still boots up the built in comm manager. (The one that Tmobile has anyways.)
2. The Vibrate button. I have all the files and I have it setup so that it vibrates when you hold down the comm button, BUT it keeps trying to open VoiceCMD even though I deleted all visible entries for it...
Update: 04/03/08
Ok guys. Here's some info on my current projects.
1. Just2Clean is almost done. I just have to fix some bugs. The OEM is from an unreleased Wing ROM, the SYS I ported over using... well keep reading.
2. My phone currently is running currently has 62.38mb total of storage... and I was able to shrink the extrom and use that ROM space for storage. Granted, you need to have HardSPL and a memory card for this to work, but it's awesome. This ROM is also so small and stripped that it's the fastest ROM I've ever used and I don't even have any tweaks on it, yet.
3. Kitchen 1: PPCBuildOS: Unfortunately, I haven't had time to work on porting it, but after I get Just2Clean fixed, I'll be working on it. AWESOME kitchen. The creator is so willing to help, too. Made me a developer of the Atlas section (Herald compatible so no worries for those Herald users.)
4. EasyPortKitchen. So far, I've got it porting SYS folders just fine. I haven't been able to setup XIP porting, but that's because I still don't understand the process behind it. If someone wants to explain it to me, I'll be able to finish this kitchen. So far, Just2Clean had its SYS folder ported in this way.
EDIT: 5: I plan to release the ROM with language packs for the kitchen. Then you can just check on the language you want the ROM to be in while building the ROM.
New Post
Ok, change of plans.... I'm currently working with the makers of PPCBuildOS to make an Atlas/Herald version of their kitchen. It's currently being developed with JustClean, but it will eventually be released with my Just2Clean. (That'll be the new name.) That kitchen is AWESOME, btw. ^_^ Makes my kitchen look like a pitiful script kiddy toy.
Just2Clean will be a WM6.1 stripped down better than JustClean was, more modulized and with its OEM based on an unreleased ROM.
I'll keep you guys posted but I'm not sure of how much I can talk about now that I'm helping develop the Atlas/Herald side of it...
Old Post
A few things that I've been thinking about on my "off" time... basically, the time that I'm just unbusy enough to have my own personal thoughts outside of work or school related ones. lol
All these ROMs would be compatible with my kitchen.
1. SuperClean - A ROM built with lots of compression and minimal programs. The point of this is to be the "bigstorage rom" where you can't even flash it normally because it doesn't meet the size requirements of the RUU/SPL.
2. JustClean2 - Based on an unreleased OEM from an unreleased ROM that I made before I switched to WM6.1. It's based on a Wing ROM... but it has potentials. It just feels faster and it seems to take less space than the current Herald base I'm using. Not to mention that some people are having issues with Herald based ROMs and some bluetooth enabled items.
3. OldClean/NewClean - SuperClean and JustClean2 may have both WM6.0 and WM6.1 versions... I find that, although WM6.0 is slower, it also takes up less space (and therefore can net more storage space) and some people don't seem to like a lot of the WM6.1 features.
What do you guys think? Which would you like to see first? If any? Any better ideas? (And no, no ideas about which programs should be in it, you already have my kitchen for that.) Oh, and the kitchen would become modular, the JustClean1 ROM would be released seperate from the Kitchen.
I'm itching for a ROM as quick as my old WM6.0 ROM, but I haven't had as much luck getting the Herald ROM to run as quickly.
BTW, has anyone ever used my old CleanROM with the Herald keyboard driver? Did you ever have any issues with it?
I vote for a newer WM6.1 built than the "old" 19xxx - there were newer ones outside before bepes kitchen ROM but thy had ActiveSync problems...
Maybe now there are new builts.
OR if not i vote for WM7...hahaha
ALLL the "clean" crap doesn´t make sence to me... why to have a clean rom and then install all by cab.
I ONLY cooked a rom because i was sick of installing all cabs
lol
Good to see ur back to cooking roms
Well i Love the functions of WM6.1 so just about and clean 6.1 rom you cook will be great
so i'd guess from ur descriptions that'd be SuperClean...
Edit: I also use the Office suit a lot but i can add that by a cab, since i know most clean roms dont have it since it takes quite a bit of space

These ROMs are meant to be used with my kitchen. That way they can add what they want and what they want only. Some people just don't use any programs and want the available storage space for other reasons. (Like photos.)
The SuperClean would attempt to create a lot more free space in the ROM. (For example, I have 54.93mb total (I've got a few files saved so I'm not sure how much I had free at first) currently in the ROM I'm currently using and it's no where near optimized and it's one of my fattest unreleased "SuperClean" ROM's that I have ever made.
Imagine being able to get 60mb free WITH all the apps that you use. It would be awesome.
Well at the moment i have a 4GB Memory Card, but reguardless i preffer to use cean roms as they tend to be faster and have more program memory available.
Especially since i use Point UI and dont rly care about today plugins
I vote for just a 6.1 Rom w/ good tweaks (and ready to go for tmo usa) and no extra programs.

I did, but there were some serious issues (I can't remember which though). I had reporeted them in CleanROM thread for sure.
BTW, when are you going release final of your oven? I need to fix several small issues in my custom ROM, but I'm too lazy to do so with current version

And THAT is the problem ... even with 63MB program storage... we will NEVER get more than 32MB free RAM (memory)
to get more storage for apps or even cach is not the problem. BUT getting more RAM is not possible.
But as a clean rom for cooking - OK
but then:
- no skinning
- default looking
- only left what is needed for running system (phone, base apps)
and than we can cook....
thx
AND why don´t we have this OS "System 5.2.19202 (build 19202.1.0.0)"????
the kaiser people have it..

I'm currently learning how to port properly for that specific reason. 19202.1.0.0.
As far as the skinning goes, the final should have the option to have no skin. I'll work on that. The base should have a few things disabled. I'm also working on that. As far as RAM goes, I've gotten up to 38mb free before, but it was missing a lot of items... I could always just modulize the whole ROM and let people choose EVERYTHING down to if they want bluetooth support or not. This can net some pretty nice amounts of free memory. It's just more work for me.
I am also thinking of modulizing the MUI's in the ROM, effectively allowing people to just download language packs. Doubleclick on the file, wait until it does its thing and then you have a French ROM, or a German ROM, or whatever...
It's not that I can't do it, it's that it takes time.... time I don't have.

It seems to me that the 6.1 ROM is a bit faster when doing some things (like opening the windows folder using total commander) is involved - but I think the 6.0 can be tweaked to be just as fast? I would be very excited to try either your SuperClean or JustClean2 as long as the ROM is based on Wing.
I used your CleanROM for quite a while with NO problems but on a Wing.
Update on the first post.

^_^ Makes my kitchen look like a pitiful script kiddy toy.

yay new kitchen!
wow, can't wait to try the superclean (superfast???) rom
Let us script kiddies get our toys!
Updates on the first page!
So it will come with the same kitchen like JustClean?
62 megs...sounds cool. I hope it will be possible to stuff the rom with office etc. and flash it as usual.
Not with the same kitchen. With a new GUI kitchen that the guys at PPCkitchen.org have made for other phones. I'm just helping them port it to the Herald/Atlas.
The EasyPortKitchen is something you would use to port a ROM.
You can install anything you want on it. All my ROMs are always minimal and allow you to install whatever you want on them.

That's the best of your releases. Just a clean package so everyone can add what he needs, noone has to have stuff on their phone that they don't like. It's simply a Good Thing (tm).

3.53.DK.02, UC 2.0 Compliant, Supa-Clean [5/23/2008]

Hello XDA! Let's start off with a few thanks. Pof, Jscepi, Kyphur, Bepe, XDA for all the tools and knowledge. Cuboosh, Sirooga, Packetmangler, Tdusen, Drbowden, IDJ and everyone from my 3.02 thread for helping me work out the bugs. Without further ado:
3.53.DK.02 Based on CE OS 5.2.19213 (provided by incognitho)
Storage: 164.66MB Total, about 3MB In Use, about 162MB Free
Program: 85.32MB Total, about 31MB In Use (after soft reset), about 54MB Free
3.53.DK.01 Based on CE OS 5.2.19213 (provided by incognitho)
Storage: 165.79MB Total, about 3MB In Use, about 162MB Free
Program: 85.32MB Total, about 31MB In Use (after soft reset), about 54MB Free
3.51.DK.01 Based on CE OS 5.2.19209 (provided by incognitho)
Storage: 165.29MB Total, about 3MB In Use, about 162MB Free
Program: 85.32MB Total, about 31MB In Use (after soft reset), about 54MB Free
This rom starts where my older roms left off as far as "stripped down-ness" . My roms have AT&T connnection settings by default so no need to install and run HTC Connection Setup if you are an AT&T customer. Keyboard is Tilt layout so install KaiserKeyboard.cab attached below to change to Kaiser layout. Now onto the deets:
3.53.DK.02
- All Tweaks removed (cab included in rar)
- Removed Comm Manager (cab included in rar)
- Put back SIM Manager
- Clear Storage runs after flashing (no need to hard reset, but I still recommend you do)
- Overall more refined (I started from scratch on this one to work out some bugs)
3.53.DK.01
- starts where 3.51.DK.01 left off, nearly identical
- custsat.dll replace with no2chem's dummy file
- AUTD in CommManager replaced with 3G Toggle, cab also available below
3.51.DK.01 (4/24, radio not included)
- starts where 3.02.DK.05 left off
- removed help files from OEM_Lang_0409
- removed bmp's associated with help files
- removed DRM from OEM_Lang_0409 and SYS
- removed several dll's that are a part of Audio Manager and Streaming Player
- replaced NetCF 3.5 and SqlCe 3.5 with NetCF 2.0 and SqlCe 3.0 (for compatibility)
Stuff I noticed in 3.51:
- Addition of disptools.dll in OEMDrivers with new registry settings to go with it! I have no idea what this does and I'd love it if someone could enlighten me.
- AutoShortcut.exe and a shortcut to it that gets place in StartUp. Don't know what this does either.
- HTCCpl.cpl changed to MyCpl.cpl and mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml reflects those changes. These cpl's control some items under "Settings".
- New bluetooth registry settings! not sure if this is related, but the blue light no longer turns on when you reset.
- What happened to the Program memory? 85.32 down from the usual 101.32.
Issues:
- Microsoft Voice Command versions older than 1.6.19209 will cause lockups.
- Typing area does not show with IM+.
- No video when using CorePlayer in QTv mode.
- I don't use TCPMP, but I'm guessing this still does not work either.
- Using cleartype in landscape mode causes text to disappear.

I've started to mod my cabs to install to their own folders under \Program Files instead of \Windows whenever possible to keep the directory as clean as possible. 3.51 has 814 objects in \Windows after flash and opens wicked fast through File Explorer. Voice Command still seems to be in the grey area for posting so PM me for the my new 19209 version that installs to \Program Files\Voice Command. Help files are removed from my new cabs. Cabs attached below with more to come.
Update: There were some issues with 3 of my cabs and I just removed them from my first post. I will re-up them to my second post once I fix. I need to apologize to the 23 members that downloaded HTCQuickGPS 1_00_220821_00, the 17 members that downloaded MSInternetSharing 6.0 and the 15 members that downloaded MSRemoteDesktopMobile 6.1.

4/24 - Fixed QuickGPS and InternetSharing cabs attached.
5/13 - Added ArcsoftMMSComposer 5_0_31_19.cab
Great, time to flash again...
Hung on the Windows Mobile 6.1 screen right after the flash. Had to hard reset to get past that point.
Loading up my apps now to see how it works.

No. Didn't have any requests for this so never thought to include it. Give me a few minutes and I'll make one for ya.
Edit: I just took a look at your instructions for "Multiple Data Sessions". Was about to make a new rom when I checked my registry. If the only change that needs to be made is:
<parm name="AGPSNVSetting" datatype="integer" value="5" />
then my rom is good to go for BBC. Happy flashing!
I just reflashed to the 3.02 because this one kept locking up on me. I don't me SOD either, I mean total lockup with the backlight on full brightness for 5-6 minutes...
I might try the multi connection ROM shortly.

Did you install Voice Command? Using any version other than 1.6.19209 will cause your phone to lockup. Took me a while to figure this out, but found it installing 1 proggy at a time. Also, radio 1.65.14.06 is required.

I didn't know the order of flashing mattered? I flash my phone so much while testing my rom before release that I lose track of these things. I do however always do a master reset after each flash.
Anyways, let me know how it goes. I've been using this rom since yesterday without any issues.

i think it might since it hung during startup before i put the radio on.
reflashed the radio & then the rom a little while ago. loading up my apps to see if i get locks again
Right, well I found out what's killing it.
BB Connect seems to be making it die, which makes me wonder if it's the data connection or BB Connect...
EDIT: Loaded Alex's "clean" ROM & it doesn't seem to have the same issue.
EDIT2: Can't get BBC to connect on Alex's ROM, so 3.02 it is for a while longer...
landscape mode - issue with text
akadonny,
Loaded this new ROM on my AT&T Tilt and notice a weird issue (didn't have this with the previous version). In regular mode typing text via the onscreen keyboard is visible. When I switch to landscape mode all text that can be typed disappear or it doesn't appear until you go to a new line. I noticed this when I went to enter my Personal Information.
Otherwise it's working fine for what I use on the device so far.

I didn't understand you at first, but I think this may be by design. Just to be clear you are saying that you type using the on screen keyboard entering your Owner Information and when you switch to landscape the on screen keyboard closes until you tap the screen again. Is this right? I tested this and the on screen keyoard seems close under any app where you can type when you switch to landscape. I think I do remember the on screen keyboard staying open in landscape before.

Ok. So I loaded up the straight bloatware ROM & don't have any of the issues with an immediate lockup when BBC is installed.
Maybe when something was taken out it broke something else in another way that wasn't visible?
At least the ROM is decently speedy for a full on vendor one.
thanks for another release akadonny!
Seems to be running well. Does this have a differently sized pagefile?
Thanks,

At what point does it lock up? Installed the software to my Tilt, ran through the initial setup, soft reset when it told me to and now I have a blackberry tray icon. I click on the tray icon and I have several tabs. I've attached a few screenshots. The cab I used to install it is to big to attach, but I downloaded it from here.
