Mobitv shutting down howard forums is xda next

Did you see whats happening on Howard Forums. Apparently this could happen here.
Basically this is what happening. It turns out Mobitv stores links to their feeds in a plain text file that anyone with internet access can view. Apparently viewing this text file is considered 'hacking'. These feeds do not appear to be protected in an anyway and it appears anyone with a compatible phone can view them.

mobitv is trying to shut down howard forums for someone posting a glitch in mobitv's security and somehow thats ho-fo's fault

First of all, I don't know how this is related to Kaiser upgrade, but, anyway, after reading through their conversation, it is clear that MobiTV asked Howard to remove the links just like how Microsoft asked to remove ROMs from this website long time ago. I understand how one could think that those links are not violating anything but if the company already said so and is just asking to remove the links, then why not? Why escalate it?

Howard, great catching up today. Again, we're big fans of the sight and our intention was never to bring your entire sight down or to "censor the Internet" like we're being accused. The irony is that is quite the opposite type of company we are and as one of the leaders in new media, we couldn't be more supportive of the rights of sights like yours. This glitch is the reason we dont have Sprint TV on our Moguls FYI.

Anyone able to flash a working US/ATT 3G rom

Has anyone been succesfuly at flashing a working US/ATT 3G rom on these released Euro HTC Touch Pro's coming out this week? or do we know if that is not possible because of the hardware? Thanks for helping out a newbie that's anxious to lose a Moto Q9h and pickup an ATT 3G compatible Touch Pro (not willing to buy the crippled ATT Fuze).

Please stop yelling at everyone for not searching. It is far more useful to simply point out that the question has been asked and answered elsewhere, and remind the users of forum policies. I only caution you because if you don't settle down you're gonna end up earning yourself a trip to bannville (note, just word of caution not an official warning as i am nobody of significance here), and you don't want to cut off your best source of information for your device

First of all, that's not even English you just spoke. Second, it's not my arrogance but my pure frustration, I can promise you I never double posted like that when I first came here (not too long ago). Having 10 threads like that floating around is going to be the end of us, as it will someday be impossible to find any useful information in the plethora of repetitiveness. I surely couldn't be a mod, deleting 10 posts just like that every day... Why do we have this google search function and stickies in every forum saying to use it, when nobody does? What a waste.

Please read the post directly above you. Two wrongs don't make a right. You can't be offensive just because you were offended by someone else. If you believe the post needs to be reported, then report it, and if you can speak respectfully then reply. If you can't be respectful then you probably should just skip over the reply, or quote buttons.

Black, Everyone is VERY excited about this device and the posibility of it being flashed with the at&t rom so the US gents can get the 3g also. We all want touch pro's with 3g in the states like you so we can all live in harmony!
Hey, did yours come with a case? Wondering what the US version will come with. I bet it will be like the at&t version of the tilt and NOT include a case. Has anyone seen the case the HTC provides? I looks like garbage! I can't even beleive that HTC would release such a great device with such a poor case.

LOL, I did have an order on the touch pro but cancelled it. Now that all the reviews are coming in and the youtube's, my fingers are iching to hit the purchase key again! I have a good feeling about the hard spl and the at&t rom flashing. I hope it does work to enable 3g for all our sakes!

I have to agree. Although i also agree with Black. I'm actually one of those waiting for this hardspl release and a confirmation of 3g in the US and see 10 posts a day. I don't get that excited about it though :-D I just love to see so much excitement for this phone.

No, and there will not be one.. This forum does not solicit warez.. On another note- it will never be in a cab anyways, too complex to make it all in a cab. If you are really into iGO, please buy one. It works great with HD2 (with the exception of TTS and TMC)

@OP - If you're going to purchase an iGO product, you may want to hold out for an official release of iGO Primo. Once iGO Primo is officially released, it will support TTS and it will also be available in the USA whereas you cannot download USA maps for iGO8 from their website. I don't know what the price of the program and or maps will be but it's shaping up to be the best navigation software available.

Yeah, right. I just spent quite a bit of time trying to find a place that is actually selling the iGO8 app. I could not even find it on the official website for the app. I even Googled it! Google couldn't even come up with a seller site. All I could see was torrent after torrent.
This is a joke. For a company wanting to sell something and then make it so difficult to actually acquire is ridiculous.

Nah...I don't believe they want to sell it bad enough. They don't need my money.
Apparently jumping to conclusions is the thing here. The poster I responded to jumped to a conclusion about the one asking for a download link. You are jumping to the conclusion I am aggravated with this site for not having a link to the app. None of these conclusions are true. I merely made an emphatic post about how hard it is to find a link to a product that is suppose to be sold.

its out there just gotta look harder I just installed it on my HD2 today with the usa and canada maps and its nice. really nice. I had a tomtom and the grapgics on the igo8 are better then the tomtom and the garminxt, I still have the garminxt just in case. but it looks like the igo8 takes the cake. Im gonna install it on my wifes HD2 also. She even likes it and its hard to impress her. She likes the tomtom. until now. lol

I dont think i can upload Warez here so try google with this in search field: "Primo Software without Content and *.cab" and you will get it.

So anything you rip off another phone is illegal, how come we do it with alot of stuff on here... then again what do i care /ripriprip

The problem with this is that it's the map data mostly. When I was on Windows Mobile, we had the same problem with Microsoft Voice Command. Even though it came with most WM phones, you weren't aloud to share the .cab (equivalent to .apk) file for it. In fact, cooking roms with it was kinda frowned upon. The problem was the licensing, because Microsoft actually charged for the app, for the few phones that came without it (the manufacturer had the option to use it, I'm guessing they decided to just pay for it to have it come loaded). Even when TomTom came out with a "trial" for one specific WM phone, the cracked program wasn't allowed on XDA, even though cracking it just made it possible to use it on other phones...... You still had to buy the maps from TomTom for the phone..... It's all just a CYOA policy, and it's what makes sure XDA won't be shut down!

So I guess the question is: if I am able to find the.apk, would it work on my inc. Has there been any success stories?

It would certainly be interesting to find out. I remember someone in the past had made a GPS Phone based off Windows Mobile. I can't remember who offhand, but I'd think it would be more profitable for them to release the software for a reasonable price than to offer it only on their phone, which who knows how much they're really making off it. I mean it comes down to profit, but I'd think that considering my DInc came with built in Nav for free, and is a much better phone, why pay a premium for a phone with GPS, when you can get a better *phone* and add GPS software for a minimal cost (or use the FREE one included!). Just my thoughts though.....

So here goes. I want to down load a hack for madden 25. I found one by Gamehacks mmosubscriptions. That's the name on the site.

Are you talking about a game for a phone or for a gaming console? Either way, the first thing you should always keep in mind when on the internet is that you're never completely safe. There are always people or companies trying to game you. I'd be careful submitting any personal information on that site, but there is a very low risk that there are any Android-specific malwares that you could get just by visiting the website. Just be an avid internet user and don't be stupid, and that should get you through most things. Treat the internet like everyone's trying to get you.

It's for my phone, and the hack has a download button for me to click on. You click on the download button for the hack.

That website looks really sketchy. I wouldn't trust it at all. Web of Trust gives it a very poor rating for trustworthiness. Little to no information is given about the hacks, and the hack page for every game looks nearly identical. The program also looks identical. Looks like a virus to me. I wouldn't download it or run it if I were you.
edit: Additionally, an anti-spam website blacklisted that hack site for the reason "Fake Content."

I come here every time I need help you guys are the freakin best. So good in fact I've never even had to sign up. I've been able to search threads and the answer already existed. This time I couldn't but still got fast and furious answers from an awesome person.
