i can connect my laptop on my AP,
solution is maybe in aplicatio "Tornado Wi-Fi Settings "

siouxNS,
I had similar problem on XDA IQ. WIFI was connected to the AP, but IE was stuck in 'locating', and after some time (about 1 minute) error message appeared. I noticed, that when pinging my phone IP from laptop (also in my home network) few pings were ok (just after wifi connected to the AP), and rest of them timeouted. Sometimes, but very rarely, all ping responses were ok (I used ping -t on windows).
So, what I did to get wifi connection working:
1. started IE, when wifi is off
2. started wifi
3. shortly after wifi connected to my AP, I opened some internet page in IE (try to use one, that is not cached) - and it worked
And this works for me every time now.
Few more things:
- check that IE uses the same connection, to which wifi is assigned.
- you can use WLAN IP manager to manually set your IP, gateway and DNS servers
- my system is: windows mobile 6, OS 5.2.318, build 15341.0.0.1

hey guys,
I have the same problem. just flashed the new v3.6, can connect to the router, can even ping the mobile from my laptop via wlan, but still get the no connection error - from IE and opera.
what can I do?
EDIT:
finally got it. just had to change the type of internet from 'private/work' to 'internet'. thats it. stupid comment about vpn under it confused me...

Wifi before gprs for email +web

Hi all - i have my xda mini s setup to connect to the internet and collect my exchange emails all works fine.
i use it at work + at home a lot and both locations have a wifi broadband network.
i would like my xda mini s to only connect to GPRS for web browsing and emails when a stored wifi network is not in range (eg when im on the road)
Is it possible to enter in this preference anywhere? thanks in advance for any help
Actually, as far as PIE or any program that connects to the internet is concerned WiFi takes precedence over GPRS by default.
The problem is MS push mail. It forces GPRS even if WiFi is connected. If you try to serf to a graphics heavy site wile connected to both GPRS and WiFi you will see the speed difference.
I am not sure what the logic behind this MS stupidity is, and unfortunately I don't know of any cure except deleting the GPRS settings.
hi - and thanks.
damn.
well i did have a qucik test i went on the web and it seemed to be connecting to gprs (while i was already connected to a wifi network)
i will have a play.
There's one other thing I forgo to mention:
When connection to WiFi make sure you select the correct value under "This network connects to".
I assume your GPRS settings are under My ISP and that is what's selected in Settings->Connections->Connections->Advanced->Network selection.
You should then select "The internet" for the WiFi network.

Crash on connecting to ad-hoc network

Hey I have a strange problem: I have created a little script that turns on an adhoc network on my Linux notebook, this way I can share my wired internet with my phone.
Only problem: if I connect to the newly created network, it gets a 169. IP, then it looses it's connection and then it crashes.
IF it works (which is very rare, but sometimes it does) it works perfectly (then I first get a 169. ip, then loose connection and then I get a good IP from my DHCP server) DNS and everything works like a charm.
So my question is: why does it crash and what can I do about it?
If I connect to the same network with a Touch Dual I have no problems at all
If you need more info, please ask!

Need help, PIE or Opera will not load with Wifi

Okay for some weird reason, I have trouble opening PIE, and Opera. Iam able to connect to my router, and it does show the connected wifi icon on top.
-I have indeed disabled proxy.
-I have made Wifi slider to high performance.
-My router is set to b/g not n, and is set to Auto(WPA or WPA2), TKIP andAES.
-I also made my htc networkcard connect to internet, and set all adaptors to
server assigned.
-Oh yeah I also have disabled the router network passkey, but still could
get the same PIE error.
I spent alot of time trying to find the answer for this but nothing seems to work. If anyone has a remedy, or any suggestions please post..
settings->connections->connections->advanced->select network
is it set to my home network or whatever wifi connection and not isp connection
is called on your device?
What do u mean by home network or wifi network? The only options are medianet, at&t isp, my isp, and my work network.
If you mean my work network, I had it on the bottom selection where it says automatically connects to private network. The one on top says automatically connects to the Internet.

Can't connect to wifi network (WPA PSK)

So, after browsing a bit about this I'm still unable to connect to my work wifi network. Every other network I'm able to connect just fine.
I put the wifi password, authenticates, goes to "obtaining ip address", goes back to authenticate.. and doesn't connect.
Forcing (using manual IP configuration) connects but doesn't open websites, even tho I'm using the connect gateway / dns servers. (even used 1st dns same as gateway).
Got a LG 4x next to me connecting just fine, problem is only on my nexus 5.
So far happens on 4.4.2 and 4.4.3.
Tried some tips that I saw around the web like disabing nfc or turning on and off airplane mode (although there isn't much logic in these), but still nothing.
Wifi password is correct.
Problem it seems is somewhere obtaining the ip from the router or something, as it goes back when it reaches this point, but then again forcing it allows me to connect but doesn't open websites.
Any tips? I'm suing WPA2 PSK at home and it's fine.
The network is in a 2ghz range channel 10.
Any help is appreciated.
PS - Router is a linksys WAP54G.
Thanks a lot!

Bluetooth tethering to other android phone - no internet

Hi guys!
I have an issue with bluetooth tethering between two android phones:
A-Oneplus One cm12.1 latest nightly
B-Xperia SP cm11 latest stable release
Bluetooth tethering is activated on A, and paired up with B. Then I activate the "use internet access" option on the bluetooth pairing settings. Then when I try to access the internet on B, I get a "could not find server" error. It is not a dns issue as the problem is the same when using ip addresses.
I tried to isolate the faulty phone with two scenarios:
I connected a friend's phone running kitkat to A: internet worked fine, which led me thinking that A was sharing its connection correctly and thus B was at fault. But then I connected B to my friend's phone in bluetooth tethering mode: internet worked fine, so B can receive bluetooth tethering internet correctly...
Could it be that lollipop phones have trouble sharing bluetooth internet to kitkat phones? Seems a bit fishy to me...
Is there a command line tool (like pand on old cyanogen phones) to manually configure A or B?
Any ideas? Thank you!
Update:
I ran a netfcg on B: it showed that bt-pan didnt have any Ip address assigned.
So i did
netcfg bt-pan dhcp
ip route add default via 192.168.44.1 (A's ip address).
Now i can ping any internet IP, but I cannot ping web addresses. How do I set the correct dns in this case?
Thanks!
This post solved my problem.
