Hi,
Can anyone tell me which is the best ROM to flash the vox with..
I would like a stripped down ROM which hopefully speeds up the device
Most people seem to be happy with the ARA Rom which has english, french and arabic languages. It has latest versions of the radio and os, isn't branded, is apparently faster and has utils like windows live messenger already included. It's on the XDA ftp site, do a search and u find it.

Hi all,
I just followed instructions and created a rom of my unbranded Kaiser with a Dutch windows mobile on it.
I'm hoping somebody is willing to load this on his/her device to see if it's working.
Reason I ask is that I would really like to start experimenting with this cooking stuff, but if I need to return in for warranty, I need to return it with a Dutch windows mobile on it, looking really standard like I bought it. And looking at the instructions on how to do that, I'll end up with a base English HTC Shipped rom. That's not an option I guess so I dumped my own one and created a new rom.
You can find it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/74100485/RUU_signed.nbh.html
some details:
ROM version: 1.56.404.6
Radio version: 1.27.12.11
Protocol : 22.45.88.07H
Any feedback is welcome! Specially want to know if the rom like I made it will have all the default programs like the htc taskmanager and audio manager etc...
Dice
just flashed it.
everything seems to work good so yet , it is also as it should be , DUTCH
DicEvsTytnII,
If you or anyone else found any bugs on your dumped rom, pls keep us updated. Im trying it too now

Original HTC Rom is Flashing
Hello guys, and merry christmas ;-)
I was just wondering, i got a TyTN II (Kaiser) recently, but it was bought in france, so im kinda stuck with french language.
I want to update the phone, to english or norwegian language. I know the warranty will be lost, but the phone is useless for me now anyway. I have been searching alot on the forum, but i cant seem to find an english rom i could use.
Do i use the Hard SPL to unlock the CID, and then flash the phone with a WM6 english rom?
All i want, is to get english language on the phone. Could i install Duttys rom? (Dutty's DualTouch Dial OEM Package)
Thanks for a great forum and work guys!
i have the same question ...
is it possible to install MUI packages onto the device?
something which is similiar to MUI for winxp or vista?
thanks.

I agree with the #1 post. It is always better just flash it with the whatever language ROM that you want instead of monkey around the files of an existing ROM. If it is just a matter of modifying a few files, the following scenario will not happen.
There is no (HTC) official Chinese phone sold in US, in fact it is damn difficult to find any HTC phone in U.S. phone stores. There is no official Simplified Chinese HTC Kaiser ever made. HTC is a Taiwanese company and they make Traditional Chinese HTC Kaiser plus other European languages Kaiser. Check their web site, there is no U.S. sales/service offices.
I normally get a phone in Hong Kong and flash it with English ROM and install a Chinese system which can read both type of Chinese characters.
So replace the ROM is the best way to go. This forum have enough info for how to do it. (Of course, you have to unlock your phone first).
i totally agrees and i am using the same method at the moment. using a cooked english rom and add in applications and fonts to support read/write chinese.
but when i was using asus p525 & p535, i understand from the cookers that they extract mui files from simplified chinese wm6 image and port it into the english rom. so i believe there might be a way to do a cab installation files with the require languages files and it can be installed onto the device. taken into consideration that our kaiser has abundent rom storage space, installing this mui package shouldnt be much of a problem.
anyway, this is just my thoughts, i am no cooker nor expert, hehe. so it will still takes a real expert to work out this mui installation cab.

I have come to the conclusion why Arabizer is not working on many of the newly updated ROMS. It has to do with the Arabic Language not being installed in the roms.
ATT Rom does not have it, HTC newest ROM either. I have looked everywhere for the language packs including google. I gave up so what I am asking is..
does anyone have the language files. I know L2 must be using them in his ROMs as Arabizer is working
The only programs I found costs money.... so if anyone has the latest Arabic Language ROM or the files needed they would be highly appreciated for my next build
i don't know anything about this, but you could try here. i found some threads about ppc there, so...
i am looking into the arabizer cabs, however im short on time. If anyone finds a good solution or has an OEM package that we can cook in, i would be more than willing to incorporate this into my roms!
Basically, there are three Arabizer programs.
1. IMAGiNet.
2. MOBiDiv (latest version of IMAGiNet and usually don't work with the v6.1 ROMs).
3. InforMobility (mostly works, but in my opinion it is not as good as IMAGiNet).
All the above 3 programs are paid software. They do have 30 days trial. If one owns iMate devices than I believe IMAGiNet comes free with hardware. And, if one owns the O2 devices than I believe that InforMobility come free with the device. This is basically included in the AR ROMs.
The PROBLEM with v6.1 ROMs:
Most of the time with all the latest cooked ROMs by almost all the chefs, the software keyboard doesn't work. One cannot select the Arabic or any other keyboards. So the Arabizer might work but the keyboard does't. This includes many keyboards, including Rosco, TouchPal and so forth.
See here!
In conclusion, I can upload the IMAGiNet Arabizer for testing purposes, which has the 30 days trial.
KOR!
Problem is that I can too download the Arabizer but it won't install on any WM6.1 device.... It needs the Arabic language files in the ROM in order to work properly.
hi there, attached below is the cab file i found in the dump rom of my kaiser.
hope this help.
look for file called FJE.V6 it should work
Hi,
I am NOT endorsing to use pirated software in anyway, but to say that all 3 software are paid software is a bit overstated.
I have researched this Arabizer problem thouroughly and posted a summary on a different forum (in Arabic). What King of Rapture has mentioned is correct bu needs some clarification.
1) Official Arabizer that came with the device is from Informobility called Fe Jebi Ein and the most recent version is 6.1. So far, this version works fine on most (if not ALL) ROMs based on WM 6.1 (I am running it now on HyperDragon).
2) During the i-mate era (when HTC devices were sold under the i-mate brand), Arabizer was provided by a company called ImagiNet. They have so many versions such as 339, and 342 to name a few. Up to Windows 6.0, these versions have been working fine.
3) ImagiNet was then bought by Mobidiv which released new versions such as 407 and 411. ROMs from Dutty and Leo support 407 (411 installs the Arabic interface by default and therefore it is not recommended to test with it initially) on WM 6.1 although the compatibility was not full. Problems have more surfaced with WM 6.1 ROMs ported from Diamond. Contacts do not show anymore and clicking on the Multilangual Support icon does nothing.
HTC has been using different Arabizers from different companies. For example, the Arabizer on the Kaiser was JFE 6.1 but on the Cruise was from Mobidiv. People have been able to port the Arabizer from the Cruise and install it on the Kaiser because they like it more.
I am willing to answer any question regarding the Arabizer. Please let me know exactly what you are looking for.

Version 6.1 is much better because it supports the external Keyboard on the Kaiser.
BTW, forgot to mention that the latest official Middle East ROM from HTC does NOT have the Arabizer. Looks like HTC does not care much anymore about releasing an Arabized ROM and leaves it up to the user to install his/her preferred Arabizer.
@ryncppr, check your PM please.

Are you sure? I have been using ROMs from HTC Australia and Dopod in Asia and was able to install Informobility FJE 6.1 on them.

Thanks eltabry. This is Build 407 from Mobidiv which is supposed to work on all HTC devices.
So lets start with this question first of all...
In everyones experiences, what works or what step do you do to install arabic on a WWE (world wide english) WM6.1 rom?

OK mate; from experience, here are the rules of thumb:
1) Better install the Arabizer immediately after a Hard reset. If you try to install one and it fails, it is better to HR again and try another one.
2) The one posted earlier will NOT work on your ROM; you can verify that; this is in fact what we are trying to solve.
3) The other Arabizer FJE 6.1 will install on your ROM.
Steps to get FJE 6.1:
1)) Goto samery.4shared.com
2) password is "ce4arab" without quotes
3) In the left pane, goto to Kaiser > Arabizer
4) In the right pane, download March_11_fje_1_of_2_arabic.zip
That's all what you need for the Arabizer; file 2 of 2 is just additional applications.
All credit goes to the Genius people at ce4arab.
Edit: I am leaving work now and will be offline for few hours; will touch base with you later; you can experiment with both Arabizers.
I found an interesting offer on ebay for an HTC Touch Cruise, but the Windows Mobile installed on it is in German. Would it be possible to remove the German version and install a French or English version instead ?
Yes you can. Flash a ROM with your language of choice. You might also have to HardSPL first. Search the forums.
Thank you very much. So i will try to buy it and change the ROM.
You're welcome. I am assuming that the phone you found was an unbranded one since you said HTC Touch Cruise. In that case you can always pick up the official HTC WWE ROM (English) for the device. For non-HTC specific ROMS you will need to HardSPL.

For the how to guide for HardSPL:

can i just install a generic pack? i am retiring my iPaq hw6965 to my brother who wants to read chinese websites. i don't want to flash the rom as i am not that fluent in reading chinese but would like to add a pack so when he surfs on opera or pie, chinese characters comes up.
any support for this? found a site but the download packs are not available.
Can someone tell me if it's easy to translate a WWE rom to NL? I have never cooked or something. The only thing i have ever translated myself was the actionscreen. So i have'nt any experience.
I wonder why there are that phew NL roms.

I don't know how to translate a ROM, but you should try a WWE ROM. You get used to it in days and solves many problems when installing software. A lot of software is made for WWE will sometimes not work in other languages. You have to change the MUI for that specific program. Manila2D is a good example.
Yup,
I really like to see an Hyperdragon rom or -G- rom in dutch.
And manila2d is also in Dutch. I've found (somewhere from here) dutch files for Manila2d. Just replace them and Voila.
Hey bijdehandje,
have you checked out this thread by merten.
Its unprotected and free to use .
Mayby you could use his kitchenfiles for kaiser and go from there.
This would eliminate the need for translation.
I know I, for one, would really welcome it if someone could pick this thread up where merten left it.
To Wizzard200x: Sounds good. In the meantime somebody on this forum offerd his help to build one. Maybe we can use the kitchen files of Metten.
Hopefully we can build a cool rom for the Dutch people over here who rahter use a dutch rom then a WWE. Would be great.
