Yippeee!!
I just found out how to get around the problem where the "Start" button gets disabled and soft-reset was the only way to re-enable it! A little more info on the problem -
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
- The last application that ran would appear instead of "Start" even after you close/minimize the application.
- Clicking on the button, would do nothing...the button goes dead.
- Clicking on the signal strength icon is dead, clicking on any notifications does nothing, you cant alternate click the clock! Only thing clickable is the "Close" button and the speaker button (only when in a call)
HERE's HOW TO GET YOUR DEVICE OUT OF THIS STATE!
Simple! Just press the POWER button of your device to turn it off, and simply press it again to turn it back on to get all the buttons on the top bar functional again!! Haha!!
I used to soft reset all the time for this, now this is an easy fix ;o)) Just thought i'd share it if others have this same problem on their devices!
Cheers!

Hi all
I've had my Omnia for a few weeks now and love just about everything about it now that I've tweaked it to suit me. I've set up the M2D system and think it handles great.
There's just one thing that I'd like to change and I wondered if anyone may have found a solution for me. When you lock the keys/screen by pressing and holding the 'end' button, the volume buttons can still be used - I thought I'd switched my phone to vibrate mode and gone into a meeting but must have caught the volume button a few times because halfway through the meeting my phone started screaming out Paradise City by Guns N Roses at almost full volume when a call came in, which was very embarrasing!
Anyhow - if anyone knows of a way to also lock the volume buttons along with the rest of the hardware buttons and the screen upon pressing and holding the 'end' button, I'd really appreciate the details.
Thanks in advance.
just hold the NO button to lock all the buttons instead of using power button to lock the phone.
i found the way to stop that i had the same problem and all you need to do is go to "settings" then "buttons" then scroll right until you see "wake up" then check the last box!!!!!!
1. Pressing the Volume Up/Down button once will have the Volume Slider appear. Pressing it twice will have it appear, but muted. Is this built-in?
2. Sometimes when I soft key something, especially in messages, the resulting menu will auto-scroll down to the bottom. Why?
Ad.1 In my Vario it changes gradually, even if I press very quickly two times down it just moves 2 times down on a scale.
Ad.2 I've noticed that it happens when I press the soft-key quite long, probably the device already swiches to next menu and then 'thinks' it's a second press - because on the 2nd menu usually in the same place is an arrow that allows you to scroll down.
My question is - in portrait mode i have problems pressing left/right on the phone, the same in landscape mode - up/down. rotating the touchpad works great and moving up/down in portrait / left/right in landscape.
Is this a common problem? Or maybe it's not possible at all?
Normally I use the keyboard's left and right, but if I use the pad's it works fine as well... what exactly is the issue?

I can see something similar:
pressing the Volume Up/Down brings up the volume screen (system/ring in normal mode or the in-call one during calls), and a second press hides it!
No chance to change the volume without touching the screen
seems to be fixes with S2U2 1.36 and these settings
Looking in the instruction guide it shows a picture of the buttons at the top of the notification bar and says that the far right button with the up and down arrow on is for 3g.
But on turning this button off the phone still connected to the 3g network which the button is suppose to stop. Further investigation has revealed that this button only turns off mobile data and not 3g so becareful if you have been using this button to turn off 3g on the phone to save battery power.
Hello,
My problem with the back button is
I'm browsing through a page (I believe 99% of apps do this) I click on a link and just view it for a while. I press the back button (Happens on the built and in-app buttons) and it goes all the way back to the top. Is this something with my settings?
Thanks
I updated to the latest software version yesterday and since then when the screen is off and I long press the home button to turn it on it redirects me to the pattern unlock instead of showing me the lock screen with the time and notifications. Is a bit annoying as I pressed the home button before just to see the time or if I had new notifications and now I can't.
I have searched through the options but haven't seen anything.
Is there anyway to make it turn the screen on to the lock screen instead of the pattern input?
Turn off long press home button to unlock.

That was it! I saw the option but I thought I had to let it be turned on so long pressing the home button actually worked.
Thanks!
