Screen not responding

Hey all, been having my touch pro for about a year and a half and it has been great so far. Up till today, when I was at work, i noticed this little blue dot on my screen, thought it was nothing and ignored it. The phone was working fine till about few minutes later, when I checked on it the screen just wouldn't respond. Note that everything else works, the buttons and keyboard work, the home clock keeps ticking, but yet the screen just would not do anything. However when the backlight dims (due to inactivity) and when i touch the screen, it goes back to full brightness (the usual) which means that it is still working. So what's going on and how would I go about fixing this?
It's possible something is pressing down on the screen continuously, do you have any snap on cases? Also, this blue dot, how big is it, and what is its shape? Is it a dead pixle? Perhaps the point of impact something hit the screen at to disable it's functionality. Have you tried a hard reset?
So an update to my situation. Can confirm that this is 100% not a software problem, but a hardware one. No cases on the phone, just a screen protector. The blue dot, more like blue patch has now become bigger. :S
When the screen is turned off, it looks like a patch of blue underneath the screen, and on a white background that patch is very white and bright.
I then removed my screen protector to see if it's just some ink stuck in there as I was getting quite desperate. The blue patch was still there, and is underneath the screen. I grabbed the screen protector and decided to use the sticky side of it to sort of remove the adhesive glue that was on the screen and voila, the blue patch dissapeared. And the screen was again useable.. But when I however press on the affected area, it will filled with the blue patch once again. I can redo this process a million time, but afterall, the phone is still not useable as a slight touch on the area and the screen will no be useable.
Any thoughts?
Sounds like the top layer of your screen is just worn out. The best fix is to replace it most likely. You could try using another screen protector or two to stiffen the top layer and see if that fixes it, but you'd probably lose sensitivity. That spot is caused because the film of oil between the top and bottom layer is non existant at that point, and both the top and bottom layers are literally stuck together. I believe the oil is suppose to prevent this.

[Q] Broken LCD and screen [GT-i9020T]

Hi,
I've broken my Nexus S. The screen is shattered and both the LCD and touch screen don't work. When I turn the phone on the bottom hardware buttons light up, there is the normal small vibration, however there is no display at all on the screen. The phone does seem to boot though.
Basically, I wanted to know whether buying and fitting a replacement screen, LCD and digitizer will fix the problem?
I have a friend who has replaced iPhone screen before and he seems to think that maybe it won't due to the screen not lighting up at all. Obviously I don't want to waste my money and buy a replacement screen for it not to actually work.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 from black to white screen replacement problem??

So I have a black Galaxy S2 Epic Touch. I Decided I thought it would be cool to change it from black and make it the white one, I have a white GS2 screen with the back housing as well. I got the parts from a broken one my friend had, but the screen is def. good as I have seen it work before. For some reason when i take my black screen off and put the motherboard on the White screen and turn it on, it goes kinda bonkers!
The bottom touch buttons dont work? It simply makes its own random selections on the screen and kinda acts like a completely bad screen. But I have SEEN the screen work perfectly fine before this? When I put the mobo back in my black screen, it works perfectly fine again. Maybe its a sign to keep it black lol but my question IS...
Is there some sort of slightly different hardware in a white screen that identifies that I have a "Black motherboard" installed on it, so it just doesnt work right? Or SOMETHING to that extent? I was excited to switch them but hell...maybe the screen went bad somewhere down the line? Let me know what yall think, thanks guys!

Grey point on screen

I have a strange problem. About week ago i bought my xperia M2, then i albo bought screen foil protector. Yesterday i saw that on my screen is small sami transparent grey point. I can see it only when i watch screen form About 30 cm, when i turn phone a little - about 10 degree i can't see it. Generally it is very hard to see it. Is it cause by screen protector, or it's a hardware problem?
PS. I can't take a picture of this, on picture it is invisible.
I have a similar problem, I think. I don't have any screen protector but recently I noticed something similiar close to the upper right edge of the screen. It's particularly visible when the white or orange themes are set.

[Q] color issues after screen replacement

I replaced my nexus 5 screen after cracking it with a new lcd, digitizer, and the frame from amazon. tested the screen before re assembling the whole unit and all looked great. after getting it all buttoned up i found that after the screen sleeps and comes back on the colors are very distorted. Rebooted the phone and the color is accurate again, but again after the screen sleeps and comes back on the colors are distorted. I then tore it back apart installed my old crack screen and all is fine again. I am looking to see if anyone has come across this. I am assuming it is a bad display, but would like to see if anyone has any other suggestion on a possible problem before i return the display.
Bump: just because i'm returning the replacement screen tomorrow and ordering another if no input.
