Sorry for my english, i'm french...
It is possible use hardspl with vista ?
And save my actualy ROM (SFR: vodafone) before flash ?
My phone is a HTC V1615 (P4550)
Thanks
yes you can use HardSPL with Vista. During the process, the instructions say to unplug and then reconnect the USB. When you do this, just make sure the drivers are fully installed after you reconnect, before you continue forward.
As far as saving your ROM, you may have to go to your carrier's webiste, and download a copy of the original ROM for a backup. It might be somewhere in this forum, as well, but you would have to search for it.
Hope that helps....
Thanks for your explications
For the original ROM i search it...but without result.
Thanks again

I'm not having a WSOD, but at this point, at least that would be something happening. I've gone through the Vista-to-XP driver switch and everything else I can get my hands on, but can't get anything to happen after I unplug the USB cable and plug it back in. I've restarted Vista several times, tried a few different versions of the ActiveSync drivers, but I can't get passed the tri-color/USB screen. If I had another box to use I would install XP, but I don't at the moment. Any of you Vista Ultimate guys that have pulled this off, what did you do?!?
I've flashed on Vista. You have to be aware of a few things:
a) When the Flash process starts, the Rom Updater does not recognize the phone as a Kaiser, but is talking to the unit as a piece of hardware using the USB interface. Therefore, the mrvanx procedure must be followed strictly, since these are the drivers that will be invoked during the initial phase.
Before you plug and unplug, check Device Manager->Mobile Device to see that the driver "Microsoft USB Interface" has loaded properly. (It may be called "HTC USB Interface" too).
b) If you are running Vista 64 bit, the drivers must be signed, as mentioned in the mrvanx tutorial. Alternatively, you can restart Vista without driver signature enforcement (F8 while booting up, select this option) before flashing.

Ok here's the story,
I had an older version of windows mobile, really buggy and kept freezing all the time. So I Figured let's upgrade to a newer version! YAY.... But that kinda failed miserably, and now my phone is stuck in bootloader.
I Tried the MTTY Stuff but that won't give an USB Port under ports.
I Tried flashing in bootloader mode but I kep getting Error 101 and 150, meaning wether it can't find the phone and if it can find it it tells me the rom version isn't right for me.
I'm really sure the rom version is right for me, and my windows Vista starts installing Mobile Device drivers as soon as I plug the phone in so that's connected and all.
Only it won't update. Took everything out too, no SD No sim .. nothing.
Anyone, please reanimate my phone

"Windows Vista"..... uh huh
So it has been fixed, and yes I used windows Vista to do it... In your face vista uhuh guy!!!
I took the old windows XP drivers, deleted the vista one, installed the XP one, closed to device center, put it back on into boot mode.
Serial appeared, plugged in the USB and ran MTTY or something software. Selected USB that worked fine now
Typed the set 14 0 stuff pushed enter. shut down the program. and used the bootloader to install the latest and greatest Windows Mobile 6. All worked perfectly!!!!
So for the people with windows vista, just install the old windows XP drivers and you're ready to go, with out the loss of the latest technology
XP in Vista??
So, can you explain exactly how you installed the XP drivers into Vista... My Uni is pretty much the only reason I'm running a multi-boot system anymore!!
Any problems caused??
I tried to fight the Vista urge, but after having Ultimate installed on all the systems at work, I could fight no longer!!

Karhoe,
Let me congratulate you on this fine guide. However, you might want to put in some edits (since this guide is focussed more towards noobs):
The process is entirely possible in Windows Vista as well. I upgraded my phone multiple times to different builds on a Vista system without any problems. You need to follow this guide
Step 1) Please add QTEK 8300 and Imate SP5m to the list of Torando devices.
Step 2) Please add WMDC for Windows Vista users so that some noob user doesnt try to install AS 4.5 on Windows Vista.
I agree though that SPV-services wont run on Windows Vista. Overall, a fantastic guide ! Great job !

Hello
Great Guide, I am a newbie i have just been given 3 of these phones 2 o2 xda iq's and a vodafone v1240, I am having problems i have downloaded the teratermpro got the o2 xda iq in bootload mode and run the program and select usb and then i comes up can't open?? any ideas. I am running vista not xp if that helps.
Cheers
Brogusblue
It runs perfectly on XP, you will have difficulty using Vista, first of all, Super CID can only be performed on an XP system
Seems I have problems on step 9. I see bootloader skin and activate usb connection but it doesn't sync! the phone is not visible. help
no problem. i turned the phone off and turn it onholding the camera button. now the process in step 10 starts!
Hi,
I get that Tera Term error msg as well. "Cannot open @£$€" (USB). Running Vista. My phone is already SuperCID.
When connecting the USB (and entering bootloader-mode), Vista tries to install drivers for the device but cannot find them, maybe that's the problem?
Any clues?
/E
Maybe it doesn't work that well in Vista as I have said.
Try to do it on an XP system
I've passed 8 steps without a single error, enabled ActiveSync USB connection, but ActiveSync doesn't recognize my device whatever I do, unlike Katik wrote 2 posts above!!!
Now I just see the boot screen, with "USB" letters on the bottom if I plug in the USB cable.
Several times I tried to disable ActiveSync USB and run ttermpro.exe -- "info 2" works OK, but no luck after I enable it again.
Please tell me how can I establish ActiveSync connection??
The reverse process of disabling the USB connection
What process? I just check/uncheck "allow USB connection" in ActiveSync, do I have to do something else after I made "format BINFS", typed "ResetDevice" and enabled USB in ActiveSync??
I tried to connect/disconnect the cable, turn the defice on/off (pressing the Camera key or not), nothing helps so far...
Had no luck under XP after some tussle and reinstallation of ActiveSync, but finally succeeded under Vista...
Kinda exciting experience I must say.
The ROM is cool!
Congratz, welcome to the club
I can not for the life of me get this working!
Tried unlocking the C600 I bought off eBay both via the official Orange Developers thing (My IMEI is not recognised) and using the SDA Unlocker tool.
This says that my phone is not unlockable.
Anyone got any ideas?
Help! Please?!
Thanks for the Guide
While not a computer noob, I am hardly an expert with the ins and outs of my SDA.
Your guide was exactly what was needed to make the move to WM6. I ran into the same problems listed here - stuck in bootloader after the ResetDevice, but managed to get past it.
Thanks for taking the time.
I wanted to thank you for the guide. I've been waiting for a WM6 update since it was announced. I finally did it yesterday, and got it running on my SDA.
Step 13 - If you are using Dopod 577w, Qtek 8310, Orange SPV C600, I-mate SP5, you need to install this file to enable Contacts and Messaging button. If you are using Dopod 586w or Imate SP5M, you need to install this file
i want to download for i mate sp5m but i will not download can anyone is help me?
I think I know why, try this, right click and save target as, instead of clicking on it

Hi,
The answers you seek are in the WIKI.
Hold the backlight + power button whilst resetting the device. This will put you back into bootloader mode, you can then reflash the Rom.
I would also advise that you SuperCid your device before flashing any Roms, if you haven't done so already.
Again this is documented in the Wiki.

The problem is Vista!
Search the forum and you will find a post with a fix (old drivers) for Vista, or just use a Windows XP or previoous MS OS to flash your device.
I would suggest XP if you plan to keep flashing in the near future
do i need to super cid my htc universal in order to upgrade to ranju v77. my universal is branded dopod 900 and can use with any simcard. thanks
lucky for me, i also got a pc with xp sp2 but my pda works with ranju v77 thnx man.
only from nokia phones i can't send file with bluetooth, phones like samsung works fine
I'm normally good with stuff like this ^_^
Not today though
I promise, I followed the instructions to the letter, trying to install WM 6.5 on my phone (S710). I did the USPL thing first, then basically did the exact same thing with the files I got from the WM6.5 "Official v1.0" thread. Is that the right version of WM 6.5?? I'm a bit lost. So I feel like I did the USPL stage twice.
Now here's where things get weird.
When I get to the RUU stage, ready to install - activesync stops recognizing the phone. Says it's not connected. The RUU however sees the phone, but shows blank for the current installation. I press 'update' and both the phone and the RUU go to 100% in about 2 seconds (so obviously it's not doing much).
I reboot the phone and it's like nothing ever happened. Back to my crappy version of windows (infested with my stinky network's own software).
Have I given enough info? What am I doing wrong? Should I start again from the beginning? If so which files should I have and like I said :'( what am I doing wrong?
Epic love and hugs to anybody that can help
x
i've had a problem similar with this. make sure the uspl is done properly. and you must run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe first. then uspl: uspl_116_jockyw.bat, after all done, phone will have black screen, run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from uspl folder. (the tutorial is in the archive of uspl). aftel all that install new rom. i have wm6.5 official v1.0 too, work fine.
oh, you may try to start flashing from bootloader(turn off phone, keep the camera button pushed, and insert usb cable)

MS has added "exchanced ...." checkbox in USB to PC connection - just disable it (uncheck).
when checked - works only with synce on linux but not with activesync on XP

Hi. I was wondering, is there any way I could get custom accent colors for tiles on my HTC 1st. generation device? It is interop unlocked, couldn't get it fully unlocked :/ I tried deploying some .xap files like WP7 Root tools and Advanced config, but I get this error when deploying a .xap, Error - 0x81030120. Current accent colors are a little bit boring, so... I am new when it comes to this :/ Thanks.

I do want, but whenever I try to, I get to some step and it says that my phone isn't connected to computer when it clearly is. Can you give me a link to mango ROM's [fully unlocked, right?] for HTC 7 Trophy? I can't do HSPL/RSPL for the reason mentioned above.
You should be able to flash HSPL and then custom rom to your 1st gen HTC device. If you follow all steps correctly it should not be a problem. You entered manually to bootloader and you have installed WMDC to your PC (Windows Mobile Device Center)?
I suggest you go back to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=812 the Trophy section, find out where you made a mistake and try to get HSPL installed. When that is done you can flash fully unlocked custom rom.

for some reason, it's not working, I follow all these steps and I get an error when i try to HSPL in bootloader, but I get no "USB" word at the white area below on screen :/ And, I get this message in HSPL tool: I tried to reboot it, and yes, I have WMDC installed. But even on WMDC it states that my phone is not connected I can easily connect my phone to computer, but only when it's not in bootloader, and everything works, zune, app deployment..
[Error Description]:
Please make sure that your device connected to computer.
also make sure that right drivers are installed (they comes with WMDC / AS usually)
Try to connect device to different USB port and also you can try to reboot PC.
[Info]: USBWorkRSPL.cpp (184)
I even tried RSPL, but no results that device is connected to computer
For me this seems like a problem on your PC side. Im not a guru or anything, but what I would try to do is:
1. Uninstall WMDC and Zune
2. Run CCleaner or similar cleanup utility to remove crap thats left behind.
3. Download new packages to re-install WMDC and Zune.
4. Use another USB port and remove all other USB devices (I remember sometimes even usb mouse on a laptop has caused irratic behaviour)
5. Use different USB-cable
6. If you have messed around with your USB-port settings at somepoint (maybe when doing something else) these would need to be restored to default.
7. Try to get connection again.
If these steps would not work, I would try to flash using another computer, friends, mothers, etc... I would questimate that the problem has to be on your PC side as you cant establish connection. This would be naturally confirmed by testing to flash on other system.
Edit: Also, could your firewall be blocking the connection?
