Hello,
From some of my latest update of the firmware, I noticed that I had on the screen all along the left side a white raw that seems to be 2 pixels wide.
I have this from the wery first image that is displayed during the boot.
So it is not an OS issue but somethink more related to the hardware.
I tried to come mack to WM5, back to WM6, I also tried to reload the IPL
but nothing worked.
It looks like if the whole display have been moved to the right letting these white rows on the left.
Does have any guru an idea?
(Is there some tool for WM that can move the display same way it exist on windows for some videocards ?)
Sounds like a harware issue to me... Try a hard reset, and maybe flash a different ROM.
As I said I tried different firmares WM5, WM6 and reloaded the IPL (and any time hard reset was used).

Hi there, I have a random problem, that I have had on the 1.5 ROM, the beta ROM, and now the new ROM.
Occasionally, the screen goes completely white. It seems to be working, but the screen is not. This is not to do with an applications that are installed, as this happens even with a factory reset unit.
I can't figure out what causes it. Has anyone else seen this? Any comments?
have you find a solution
I know this post is quite old, but I can't find a clear answer about this problem...
My Atom stop with a white screen (colored, thin lines appear on the screen. Then the screen slowly turns to white)...
I must remove the battery and reset it to launch it again
I tryed everxthing... ROm update from the original firmware, PDAVIET (3 version on WM5 an WM6)
lot of resets, hard and soft...
This problem appers all the time... but randomly... 1 hours, 5 hours or 2 days after a reset....
Can you help me...

May be a hardware problem. To me it looks like a loose connection inside to the screen.
Do a search in the forum for "White Screen of Death" and you'll find lots on info regarding that problem. I don't think this was a problem with Tornados. I've read about this problem, mainly on HTC Dash. Good Luck.
i had similar problem with my E200 afer fall from 1 meter. I think its hardware problem. Dont know how to fix it
with mine tornado, it was a connector that wasn't attached anymore from the screen to the board..
you can always give it a try to look inside
Hi, I am facing all this troubles with my Prophet G3, I load different images, but it's always the same, the only thinks that I can't change is the IPL, it always stays at 2.09, how can I upgrade it? The fact that vibrator doesn't work can be due to this lower version of IPL? the Speaker problem is due to the hardware I suppose, but what about the screen, sometimes is takes 3 minutes before responding... And sometimes I need to remove the battery to make it works again. The last think I want to try before returining the device to factory is to upgrade the IPL, does anyone can help me? I have flash WM6, AKU 3.3....but is never upgrade my IPL. Cheers
So after updating to a couple WM6 ROMS and being happy, my phone starts to act weird, my screen starts to turn white at random times and i have to keep the keyboard slid out slightly to keep the screen from going white. Then after a while it changes again, and now my screen always goes white until i slide the keyboard in and out a couple of times and then slide it back in, but it will only stay normal for a little and my screen will go white again. In hopes to fix this i switched back to my official T-Mobile 2.26 ROM but i am still having the same problem. Can someone please help me fix this, my phone is almost at the brink of not working and i would have to wait about half a year before i can get a new one. Any help will be appreciated.
are you overclocking at all when you are experiencing the problem???
I have heard that overclocking to too high of a speed will cause the phone to go to a white screen..
just a thought
also, if you could, please list all third party apps and the current ROM you are running
.:Nstefanelli:.
Well i was overclocking to 260 using battery status, but i dont do that anymore,i am currently running the T-Mobile 2.26 official ROM, and i have these programs installed:
Wm5torage
Fizz Weather 2
TCPMP 0.81
Pocketdict

how do u do that ?
killerkhatiby009, you can check if it is a hardware problem by performing a remote control (PC controlling PPC, google for it) and start messing with your phone, see if the PC gives you the same problem.
IF the PC gives a good reading (e.g. no white screen) while the PPC gives you a white face, then it is probably the screen problem (not sure what).
IF both the PC and PPC gives you the white face, it is then either software error (hopefully so), OR internal harware error (e.g you've burned your microprocessor?).
Ok thanks for the help, ill go and try that ppc remote controll thing and report back.
Ok after testing it the PC comes up fine while the Pocket PC comes up white.

Sounds like a hardware problem to me, which may be a result of your constant overclocking. It may also be due to a bad switch in the keyboard slider.
You might want to contact your provider and see if the phone is still under warranty and/or if you can get a replacement.
Well my phone is no longer under warrenty, does anyone know of a way to fix my phone or get a replacement?
Hi,
Can someone tell me how to upgrade my IPL please ?
found my answer. Thanks anyway
I have the EXACT same problem
Ignore my signature - I downgraded back to the latest stock T-Mobile ROM. I see the same problem no matter what ROM I am running.
It is EXACTLY the same as you describe here. I can usually make it stop by pressing the sides together (holding the screen and keyboard slider tighly closed). Once it stops if I set it down and don't touch it it will work fine.
Also when I reboot the splash screen never has the problem - the problem starts as soon as WM boots.
So what did you have to do? Buy a new one? Or were you able to get service or an exchange?
It seems to be the mechanics of the display connector that are causing this. I looked in the service manual and it shows a stiff flat flex-cable connecting the keyboard to the screen, and it seems to me that this cable is the problem - either it is damaged or it is not fully seated on one end or the other.
I considered trying to dissassemble it and clean/reset connecters - for about a nanosecond. But it looks way too fragile and full of hidden little plastic hooks that will break off if you don't release each one in exactly the right way and then it will never go back together again.
Hi,
I have a very strange problem... I have a german MDA Vario IV (Raphael) and I recently flashed ROMEOS 1.12, then HTC StockROM and after a couple of days it first happened, that my camera viewfinder is completely black. The camera, however, works, i.e. it takes pictures which I can view in the album.
When I tap the screen in camera mode, I see the 3 symbols, but when I tap the preferences-wheel, nothing happens.
When Romeos 1.40 (German) came out, I flashed it - and I still have the problem. I don't quite understand it, as it worked first with the HTC Rom and after about 14days it stopped working.
Do you have any help?
I just had the same problem. Fixed by doing a hard reset...
did you flash a new radio?
I just registered to report this same issue.
I just picked up my fuze today, and was going through the steps in the noob guide before I decided to stop and just let the phone install the regular software so I could at least activate it before a new bill kicked in before the account got cancelled.
Right before I stopped going through the noob guide, I got as far as doing a soft reset right before the installing ATT bloatware and was removing some options in the guide and restarting. Then, since I just wanted to activate the phone (I had no SD card to safely try out all the steps in the noob guide, and wanted to wait for it), I did a hard reset.
After I activated my phone, I've been trying out my camera and it just shows a black screen. If I touch the screen the three buttons show up and clicking on the buttons don't do anything. Though, if I hold the enter key it clicks and takes a picture which shows up in my album.
I'm going to wait till my SD card comes in before I do another hard reset to do the install again. Hopefully the hard reset fixes the issue.
Still no one else with this issue? I have flashed NATF 4.5 as well as energy 2.0 . I have changed to two different radios and this problem has persisted. Everything works fine at first, but then within a couple of days it goes black. Everything is exactly as others have reported. Pictures take, the touch screen menus work ( selecting any setting ).... its just the viewfinder that is acting goofy. Soft resetting it will occasionally make it work again. It makes me feel as though some of us have some software somewhere that isnt acting as it should. I googled the issue to no avail.
Any gurus able to shed some light on this matter?
Currently running:
HardSpl 1.9
EnergyRom 2.0
Radio 1.02.25.32
I am running Shep's 3.0 rom with the new 1.12.25.19 radio and I have just recently had this viewfinder problem arise as well. I am about to flash Shep's new 3F and will check the camera after hard reset.
Is anyone running additional programs when this arises? I had thought there was a conflict with freecaddie as I was on the golf course when I noticed the problem but maybe this is more widespread?

Of the programs you listed, Skyfire is the only one I am also running. I just completed my flash and turned the camera on prior to installing any apps, cabs, etc... and the viewfinder worked fine.
I am in the process of adding my customizations back on, doing a PIM restore, and installing cabs and will edit my post later to report whether it continues to function correctly.
After setting things up the way I like them and a full day of use, the viewfinder still works fine. I am baffled as to the cause but as long as its works I won't complain.
To those still having the problem, I would recommend a hard reset at a minimum or perhaps try a new rom.

This was an issue with RRE's roms a while back. Not sure what he did to fix it but I know he tweaked a flashed new versions about 100 times in one day! I would post the question in your respective rom's threads and see if the cooks have a better idea. I would bet that there is a file or setting common to all of the roms listed here that is causing the problem.
Im running the stock rom in a 1 1/2 month old Fuze
The Black screen happens to me, if too much sunlight gets thru on superfine settings. (i hold it facing directly into the sun) It seems to blow out the picture (goes all white) -then theres no display at all (black) unless i exit camera and restart.
Camera viewfinder is black
Hi,
there is a fix for this on the htc asia site, if you go to the support tab and look at the downloads for touchpro, I am not sure its for all phone as it asked for my serial number and told me it was not for my phone, on this site at least it seemed to be for hong kong, singapore & china, Perhaps check the htc site for your location.
Good Luck

First, I want to thank everyone on this forum for being so active and dedicated! I can say without doubt that you guys are the main reason I chose the Fuze as my new smartphone.
I just got my Fuze yesterday, and it was working great (if a bit laggy) on the stock rom. I then installed hardSPL and ' ROMeOS conFUZEd AT&T edition' without any problems. But shortly after that, I noticed that the colors started acting strangely. It almost looks like when you're running windows in 256 bit color mode. There are no smooth gradients. But even more strangely, these color 'bands' rapidly shift around, making most of my screen appear as though it's flickering.
I tried Da_G's latest rom, then went back to the stock rom and stock SPL. But this didn't fix it. I tried taking a screenshot of it with CapScrUtil, but when I view the images on my computer they look fine.
This all leads me to believe it's a hardware problem and I should take it back, but it is kind of suspicious that it started after flashing the rom. Just checking if you guys have any suggestions.
Thanks!
