Hi! I used to read a channel called ARUP Consult from Avantgo without any problem without going into Avantgo and clicking on Arup, I mean, it had its own icon in Programs root. As soon as I installed the latest rom on my treo 750, now it says 2 different messages:
1.- The file "Avantgo" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
2.- ARUP Consult requires M-Businnes CLient to be installed. Please install M-Bussiness Client.
I have reinstalled Avantgo without any improvement, any hel would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Since upgrading to AS 4.5, I can no longer install applications on my htc Touch.
The error message reads:
"Application Manager cannot intall this application on your mobile device due to an error in the setup file. Reinstall and try again"
Happens with all .exe files and I have re-installed AS4.5 several times and tried "Repair".
Don't think it's an issue with programs that weren't designed for WM6 because I can't install the Sprite and spbGPRS programs from the htcTouch CD
I'm running XP Home SP2 and log on with Administrator privilages
The files install OK on my work PC which runs XP2 Prof SP2 with no Administrator privilages.
Any ideas anybody?

Been there, done that
no answers anywhere I can see.
The Microsoft site only applies to specific programs, like the Media Player one you pointed to or Powerpoint.
Only thing I can find is possibly the .ini file doesn't have the correct version notation for instance it states version 1 instead of version 1.0
That still doesn't explain why they all install on the PC at work though.
Both PCs running AS4.5, both running Windows XP
i dont really thing activesycn is good at cleaning up after itself when reinstalled and or uninstalled
i've seen lots of files in it's dir
and lots of registrys it leave behind
a good cause would go and hunt them down and make sure
that a reinstall is really a reinstall
I've got a Vogue with Sprint running the official 6.1 OS.
Lately I've been having issues running certain apps. The new Facebook app and ComicReader 1.5.2 are the latest examples. Launching the application gets me this error message:
The application failed to load required components. If the .NET Compact Framework is installed on a storage card, please ensure that this card is in place and launch the application again. If this fails, a re-installation of the .NET Compact Framework is recommended. Support info: -2147479552 (80001000).
I have uninstalled .NET CF 3.5 through Remove Programs, but when I try to re-install, the device gives me the message:
The .NET Compact Framework version you are attempting to install already exists in ROM.
Then the installer exits.
Any thoughts on how I can get this fixed?
When you install the .net compact framework it sets a registry setting saying it is enabled and i think this is that it looks for when trying to install.
Try deleting this from the registry:
"\local machine\software\microsoft\netcompactframework"
after deleting, reinstall

Well, it sort of did the trick. It worked for the two apps mentioned (facebook and comicreader) but now fails with the same error message when I try to launch FSD dialer which I just downloaded and re-installed.
sigh
~~Update: I've also discovered that I get 4 of these errors pop up on a soft reset now. I have no idea what's throwing them because so far I haven't noticed any startup items that do not work. It could be a latency issue I suppose, but I did install .NET on the device, not a storage card.
Well this is getting serious. I've uninstalled and reinstalled .NET but it's not helping. Although some programs that didn't work now do, several others like GWatch, GAlarm, DiamondTV, PianoNM, and a notepad application now do not work, and I get the same error. I find two of these missing component errors on the phone every morning, and four of them on every soft reset.
Please someone tell me I'm not looking at a hard reset...

Try this:
There is a Compact Framework 3.5 powertoy named '.Net Configuration' (see cab below). The application provides control over the .net CF on your device. Here's what you do:
- Install the CAB below (to internal memory!)
- Run '.Net Configuration' from your Start Menu
- Navigate to the 'Device Policy' tab and select version 3.5
- Select 'Apply' then 'OK'
This has worked for other issues like yours.
Yay! All better now. Thanks!
If you have problems after that config it may be your rom. Some roms have registry settings built into them and restorethem on a softreset.... just a heads up
i was having the same problem with proven 1.12 rom for touch pro and following your above advised solved the problem.
Thanks Joel once again.
Run \Windows\cgacutil.exe on your device and it will pop up a window that lists the version(s) of the .NET CF installed on your device. I assume it stands for CompactGlobalAssemblyCacheUtility, and probably reads the stuff straight out of the registry. Easier than hacking about in the there anyway.
cannot install .netconfig

dear forum - any ideas? - need help, urgent, please
I did a lot of customization to my phone, so I can't possibly list all the programs I have. Last thing I remember doing was installing Opera Mini with a JAVA client (I think JBed). It kept crashing, so I uninstalled it.
Now whenever I go to run IE, I get this error message:
The file 'MortScript' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

I've never explicitly installed MortScript before that message. I have since downloaded and installed MortScript from http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=list&category=18 but it didn't solve the problem.
halp plz!

Hi all,
I tried almost everything but I cannot connect to my exchange account. With our IT we enabled OMA, OWA also, I installed the self-signed certificate on my Touch Pro, tried with and without SSL, erased the account on the device to create it from scratch, read all the posts, googled and tried what suggested but still get connecting for a while and then Error Synchronizing (built-in e-mail client), when I switch to active sync and view status I get "Synchronization couldn't be completed. Try again later" and Support code says 0x80072F17 (certificate related). WHen I set up my iPhone with the account details I sync without problem all the mails with subfolders...Any help?

Make sure you have the correct root certificate as well. Im using a free ssl cert from Startcom and I have to have both the Intermediate and Root certs installed for it to work because by default the root cert isnt there. You can check this out by Start > Settings > Certificates.
Ren13B I have just intermediate cert installed, the one that OWA is using, self-signed. Can you tell me more about how to make it appear in ROOT tab?

The fastest way I've seen to do this is search for a Microsoft tool called "SSLChainSaver". There are instructions on the site for using it, but the short form is:
Code:
sslchainsaver.exe [I]<exchange hostname>[/I]
This creates a directory with the certificates, and also creates two XML files containing the full certificate chain, one for Windows Mobile 5, and one for WinMo 6.
Find the XML file you want (<exch. server>.wm6.xml, probably), copy to _setup.xml, and make it a .CAB file:
Code:
copy exchserver.wm6.xml _setup.xml
makecab certs.cab _setup.xml
This creates a .CAB file you can download directly to your phone containing all the necessary SSL certificates for your server.
Hope that helps...
It seems there is something wrong with our OWA certificate, I found out that issuer has to be same as subject which is not, so even the tool work smoothly it could not get the root cert...Strange that iPhone has no problem with that but WM6 does:-(
can anybody help me how to install some certificates? I need one to connect to the wifi in my school.. I tried make a cab but it do not works..
Copy the certificate file to your device, open file explorer and click the file You should see message "Certificates were installed"... I think that's all, at least that's how it worked for me
It does not work for me .. I have tried it.. It says it can not open such file
Try using .cer files. If your school doesn't have those, try googling some converter from other formats to .cer
thank you a lot..it worked...don´t you know how should I use this certificate when I´am logging in to the wifi in school?
just turn on Wi-Fi and follow the instructions on screen. You will just have to choose correct encryption type, input username and password and then it will automatically use installed certificate to ensure that the connection is secure.
certificates - how to make your own?

Hi, why do you think your own certificate will help?
GNAngent.exe is part of Google Navigator, maybe uninstalling (or reinstalling) it will solve your problems as well.
Anyway, here is a mention how to install self-signed cert: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281723
You can also try DisableCertChk utility.
