Do you guys know any good theme generator that works well with landscape modes?
I used to use Ms theme generator but I believe its no longer compatible with Win Mobile 2003.
any suggestions?
Try the Thememaker Pro Plus SE by Kamware. Very good and easy to use. However not free
wat about a theme viewer?
i tried mtux themex but i dint like it. theme previews too small, and i believe its a little unstable
BVRP's Pocket Theme Manager 2
http://www.bvrp.com/ENG/products/pocketThemeManager/default.asp is quite good for creating themes &
gives a preview of how they look too but doesn't show landscape.
Also, the McDeb version of the Kamware software is easy to use although I haven't tried the latest version thoroughly yet.http://www.mcdeb.com/tmmcdeb/
I created the ones here http://www.irblinx.net/wmthemes.htm with Pocket Theme Manager 2
thanks irblinx! il try ur suggestions
i second that 8)
I've started using v4 of McDeb now, it seems pretty good but I'm struggling a bit with picking up the main image for portrait and landscape. It also seems to struggle with importing existing themes, the main image looks like it loses half of itself.
What about a thememaker for WM5.0? Do they exist yet?

yes...2k3se thememaker can be use to wm5...but some color is not accurate...
Both the ones I posted will work with WM5 but as xda2jojo points out, they haven't been optimised for use with WM5 so the colours aren't all mapped properly.
McDeb is supports VGA devices but I haven't got one so I' haven't tried it yet!
further testing with one tsk files...

the tsk file...
I thought I was going mad the first time it happened as some colours worked! Do you think this is due to the Xda II not really being a WM5 device? Has anyone tested a WM2003 theme on a real WM5 device?
McDeb apparently lets you change the colour of the highlight circle (i.e. tap and hold), which is nice.
Also I had some hit and miss results following the instruction on buzzdev for changing the dial pad, it doesn't seem to survive a soft reset.
I use Bong's dialpad maker on 2003se, maybe he could be persauded to add support for the extra parts added in WM5.

Maybe...
I'll give the hardcoded bit a try
I've had a good play with McDeb Thememaker 4now and it's pretty good for WM2003se themes, it handles landscape pretty well (although the preview has only ever worked once for me). At $18 it's a steal
Bizzarely, the landscape preview has now started working all the time! so hoorah, the "women" page on my themes site now includes landscape friendly themes!
Hi Folks,
would someone be so kind as to upload the Microsoft theme generator. when i download and install the file from MS it doesnt work properly, doesn't have options to move on from the first page( next or back which should be in the bottom left hand corner). I know there is other theme generators around but i havent seen one that works for SPB Pocket Plus extended theme generator, which is an add on for the MS theme generator.
Cheers

After playing around with my HTC Touch Pro for 3 weeks I am not quite sure I like that TouchFLO 3D. Besides that it is graphically beautifully designed, it lacks real world functionality. Such functionality for example that the iphone has.
Tabs order cannot be changed.
Tabs which I don't need cannot be removed.
The Music tab isn't intuitive and useful
The Album isn't that useful, just better to open the Album app itself
Default pro for Calender/Contacts are akward to change with 3rd prg tweaks
The People (Contacts) flipping around favorite contacts isn't usefull besides being visually appealing. Displaying small thumbnails of multiple contacts is more effective.
The Today screen not very useful.
It's not that it's all bad, it's just that I am thinking if there may be something better than that?

I don't know where you have been looking?
TouchPro is almost the same as the Diamond,
and over at the Diamond forum we are changing tabs, removing tabs, some people are developing new tabs...
Changing grafix, colour, fonts ...
I know there are some downsides with TF3D
like the calendar sucks, the Contacts is almost only for show...
In the beginning I didn't like the Music player... but now I use it anyway... It does pretty much what I need..
what does the IP(****)hone do/have that the Diamond/TouchPro doesn't do/have??
I'm not saying that you must have TF3D if u have a Diamond/TouchPro... not at all...
All people are different and have different taste or use the phone different...
Take a look in the Development and Hacking section... or anywhere else in this forum and u will see that there are allot of alternatives..
sorry if I just babbled on here... but If u think u can't modify/customize your TouchPro... you're wrong!
Check out the Diamond Forum

Come on, chief. a "smart" phone that doesn't have the most basic copy-paste feature shouldn't be trusted.
It's like eating in a restaurant where the chef cannot even make boiled eggs.
I've been using TF3d for a while now and I think it's great! much better than the iPhone interface which you can try out with iFonz.
TF3D rulez.
I worry that if I don't use the ICI, the lack of buttons will become more evident.
So what you're saying is that Touchflo 3D is just for show, but the iPhone's interface is not? I recommend you look around in the Diamond forums for some hacks, tweaks, etc. to make Touchflo 3D more useful to you (removing, reordering tabs) and if that doesn't do it, there are tons of other apps out there that will do what you want. You just have to look for them.

I've never messed around with an iPhone, though a lot of friends have them. I'm not interested in a smartphone, I need copy/paste, edit Word/Excel docs, etc. As someone who's had computers since 1982, I've seen that GUI's and ICI's slow down existing hardware, and it's then some time before the hardware catches up. Early Windows almost swamped an otherwise fast DOS computer, for instance. Even though this CPU is faster than the Mogul, it's no faster than the old Samsung i730, which I also had.
The TF3D is nice but certainly lacks functionality...I use SBP plus and mobile shell on my TP and it´s great...howver I miss the weather tab of the TF3D with its raindrops......

+1. TF3D got me really excited about Xperia for couple of days. But later I had to go back to SE panel which is very similar to Today screen with weather, calendar, RSS, etc as it's more functional for my needs. spbPanel Mobile shell is much more functional than TF3D.
The best combination I have found is using SPB Pocket Plus and SPB Mobile Shell. Together they make a very powerful (if not beautiful) interface. I can access everything within two screen taps. When I say everything I mean, weather, ALL my programmes, diary, contacts, settings, phone book and so on. It is so much quicker to get to things than anything else I have used.
These two programmes are very easy to customise and so for me TF3D is in the bin. That's just me though.
Titanium today is very cool, but is there another transparent today screen for wm6.5 apart from Manila 2d?
Thanks
Dunno what else you could mean by transparent but there is also Pointui spb mobile and wisbar. They are not so easy to work with. Spb mobile I think, is the easiest and Pointui can be very attractive.

A 1 + for pointui
Throttlelauncher is a good option, you can configure it at your own taste using themes (even Iphone, Android, TF3D, BB, GSmart imitations or some themes specially made by a person or for a person with some useful and nice aspects) or taking some of the themes and making your own one. You can add widgets, flash, and WM-Today plugins into the panels of ThrottleLauncher.
You can do a search here in xda-dev's or go to www.throttlelauncher.com
* NOTE * I experienced some problems running TL if my device is low of memory *BUT* I continue using and recommending it (and trying to put it into my cooked ROMs) - I run it with Kaiser and with Herald both WM6.5.1 now.

Yes, some of the TL themes do have transparent toolbars depending of the PNG's that the theme uses. As they are capable to disable the toolbars of WM you can use full screen themes with their own (or without any) toolbars - where they can be configured as the theme developer, or the user, like to.
Moved this thread outside of Dev and Hacking where it did not belong.
transparancy is possible in wm6.5, means what you want is practically can be done.
Thnx a lot for your replies friends.
In fact i was looking for new today screen with transparent taskbar.
Throttlelauncher can be very good. Will give this a try.
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a tool for my Blackstone device which offers the ability of changing several theme related things. Like the color of a highlighted menu item and such. I've been searching the forum and even tormenting google half the day but can't seem to find anything that comes even close. -.- Does anybody know of such a tool?
What WM version (6, 6.5 etc.)? Do you have all those HTC customizations (menu enhancement)?

I use april 8th EnergyROM build 23554 with GTX themed cookiemonster's home tab.
Moved as not software release.
Well, there are mainly two different components which can be skinned, one is Manila and everything else from HTC, the other is WM 6.5 itself, which can be controlled by a compatible theme like mine.

This is exactly right. To change the colours in Manila, you can use Mode9 editor or manila editor. To change the colours of WM, you can use UI Tweaker or Pocket Theme Editor.
Thank you guys. It's mainly the system menus I want to modify, so I'll give Pocket Theme Editor a shot.
does anyone know of any decent Calculator for the Evo, the stock one from HTC just sucks, it doesn't have a percentage etc
thanx in advance
If you are looking f for an advanced calculator rpn calculator is awesome. The finance one is exactly like the 12c.
I loveeeee Retro calculator in the market.
Droid48 works well for me. If you're going to have a calculator, why not add some real functionality? RPN Calculator is another decent choice.
Does RPN do graphing? I went with Arity since it can do 2D and 3D graphing.

It could but reverse polish notation just makes you talk German, mathematically. It for a lot of people, works.
Try a simulator calculator. Programmable and graphing
