I have a SPV E650 Orange phone which is unlocked and I have a Vodaphone SIM card in it.
I have a number of very annoying problems with it, I am wondering if it is Orange's fault or just that the HTC S710 has lots of bugs in general.
1. When I attempt to send an sms a lot of the time pressing the button currently assigned to 'send' does nothing at all so I cannot send the message.
2. Frequently when I slide out the keyboard I am unable to use the shift/capslock or function keys. Pressing them does nothing.
3. The phone no longer allows me to go into the section of settings called 'sounds' at all. This means I am unable to change my ringtone, sms tone etc.
4. My phone will no longer sync with ActiveSync. When I try it says it cannot complete the action. Initially I had no problems at all using ActiveSync and I have made no changes.
5. Bluetooth connectivity doesn't seem to work properly. Whenever I want to use my bluetooth headphones I have to delete them off my bluetooth partner list and re-establish a connection rather than just quickly selecting them from the list.
There are many other smaller issues that I can't quite remember right now. What should I do? Should I wipe the whole ROM and install another more stable ROM from this site? Its really annoying me at the moment and I'm considering selling it and getting a Touch or iPhone instead. Please help.

This will fix the tiny issue when receiving SMS while the Device is in the suspends or off MODE.
Problem occurs when the device is turned off and a sms arrives.
Following are the two cases than can occur when the Device is in the suspends MODE when the TEXT Message had arrive.
On most occasion, the device will vibrate but it will not turn the device on and it leaves them unaware of the new SMS especially for other who disable the vibrate for New Text Notification.
On worst cases, the SMS is not receive until the device is turned on.
This little program attempts to fix this two possible issue by turning the DEVICE ON when it receives a SMS.
And for the Second case, it happened when the tmail.exe(Inbox/Messaging) is close by other program that closes an Application when the "x" or "ok" button is tapped like SPB Pocket Plus, Magic Button, Vbar, Wisbar etc..
If you are using SPB Pocket Plus or Wisbar it is always recommended to include \Windows\tmail.exe in your Close Exception.
PS.. This is just an attempt and probably not the best solution. Use this tool on your own risk.

I've successfully installed it, but the problem continues.
Same here..installed the cab...problem still there
I have been having problems with my XDA II for some time, although it used to be relatively trouble-free and give or take a few idiosynchracies has worked properly since unlocking. I don't know if these problems are related or not so I will put them all in one message:
These are the problems:
1) Putting my Spanish SIM card in activates a hard reset 9 times out of 10 (it was fine putting the same card into my son's XDA). Once it did it putting my English SIM back in, but this is usually Ok.
2) Inbox stopped opening -when I click on 'unread messages' it just flickers. It won't open from 'Programs' or from 'New Message' either, nor by opting to send a message from a particular contact.
3) After a hard reset (involuntary) Inbox would open again until I restored my settings, whereupon it wouldn't, so it looks as though it is a dodgy setting.
4) After restoring contacts & appointments only (not settings) Inbox will open but it won't send texts. It sends the text to an ActiveSync folder instead (can't remember which one).
5) Since the above, there is now a new Folder appeared in SMS, entitled 'IPM.Root'. Weird.
6) Whenever I do a soft reset the volume box comes up and it makes a wild beep! beep! beep! beep! beep! beep! until I turn it off and on again.
7) The volume goes off by itself without me touching it: I virtually never hear my phone as volume has gone off again
8)Then there are the synchronisation problems. It often tells me it doesn't recognise my device and I have to set up a new partnership. This is laborious as I have two computers and then have to do it on the other as well...
Somehow I feel that I need a reset that's harder than hard - or do I need a new device?
Will someone help and advise me please!
Hi to everyone,
probably this has already been investigated and/or solved (or not), I don't know, but I was not able to find anything related and I believe it is quite strange...
I was used (using WM6.0) to search contacts using keywords being present in the record in the following way:
- Open contact application (the application opens with the first line ready for input);
- place some text in the first line, such as "Richard"
- being presented from the application a list with ONLY contacts containing the word "Richard", either in the name, company name, address, notes, etc.
Well, I find this being impossible with my brand new VODAFONE TOUCH PRO (Raphael) I recently got:
- I open contact application (nothing strange till here...)
- I type just one letter (i.e. "R")
- the PDA immediately switches to PHONE MODE, placing a call to my first contact (I think so, havent been able to double check yet) whose name starts with "R" letter...
- I obviously have to immediately abort as I don't want to place an unwanted call...
This way the only chance I have to search my contacts is to PARSE them by hand, but having more than 2000 it's a really waste of time, beside the fact I can select the first letter the name starts with (and so no chances to find the keyword appearing in other fields...).
Is anyone else reporting the same problems ???
Is there some kind of setup setting I'm forgetting of ???
Really considering not to trash my BB...
Ciao
I wonder myself being the only one reporting such a problem and/or not being receiving any answer...
So I try raising my message up to your attention...
I've got the same problem. Its actually a little weirder than you wrote. Most letters work fine.
Pressing 'r', however, automatically dials whatever name you are on. Pressing 'w' inserts 'w*', which breaks the search (you can delete the * and then continue).
There may be other letter problems too. This is on a Sprint Touch Pro.
Anyone else?
BTW, the hard keyboard works fine.
I wonder if this problem exists also in other applications such as SMS??
i sometimes face a problem while writting an SMS, i press a character but suddenly i find the dialer activated...!!!
does this has anything to do with special characters?
"R" and "W*" on Sprint Touch Pro Contacts Search
I wish I had a solution, but can only chime in that I have had two Sprint Touch pro's and both have the same problem. If you call sprint, they haven't heard anything about it (supposedly) but it seems to be a problem with all sprint touch pros.
I have the same problem with my Sprint HTC Touch Pro. Don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help?
I know this is very long to read but it's a very frustrating problem, hoping someone out there would be willing to help. I've searched a lot on it and haven't been able to find anything similar.
This is my original thread that's since been archived: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1043323.html
I am using a Samsung Focus on AT&T, with the latest NoDo build (7390). The update went fine with no problems but the keyboard is slow to respond now. It seems like if I'm typing faster than a certain speed, it can't keep up and the buttons don't flash and make the click sound with every press, like I've reached some kind of threshold. I've tried turning off/on all the settings for sound on press, auto-correct, etc., and none of it has worked. This includes applying "reset text suggestions" in the keyboard settings menu.
I tried to reset the phone completely via the About > Reset Phone option, but that didn't help. I've also tried to reformat with the Power+Vol Down+Camera button combo but that didn't fix it either. It's happened with and without a memory card in the phone. The phone has plenty of storage space available...more than 50%.
This happens in the Messaging application, any email account, marketplace search, Bing search, etc. Every place I can type, the problem occurs. I downloaded the Text Text Revolution game to test that and it does NOT have the problem. This is an increasingly frustrating problem to deal with. It makes me think I've made mistakes when I really haven't and is very distracting. It's obvious the phone isn't broken or anything since the keyboard does JUST FINE in Text Text Revolution.
I've managed to revert my phone back to 7004 and 7008, using the stock AT&T Focus ROMs available over in the Samsung threads here. Those builds DO NOT have the problem and the keyboard works great. It works fine whether the phone is locked (stock) or dev unlocked (ChevronWP7). The problem only occurs after I upgrade to NoDo. Has anyone else noticed this problem when moving to 7390, AT&T or any other carrier? From all the work I've done it seems to be directly related to AT&T's NoDo update but I haven't been able to confirm this with anyone else yet. It can't be a problem with the phone since it works fine on pre-NoDo. Anyone willing to try and help me out?
Hi,
I'm just wondering where I can change my Provider Settings for the SMS-Service in Cyanogen-Mod.
Thx
Jubei
What exactly do you mean by "provider settings"? If you're reffering to the SMS center number of your operator, that can be changed by the hidden menu in the phone:
1. Open PHONE dialer (not working with some alternative dialers so that's why I've said to use the original Android dialer)
2. Dial (as a number): *#*#4636#*#*
3. Wait a sec till you got the hidden menu
4. Choose Phone Information
5. Scroll down to SMSC (SMS Center)
6. Either press Refresh or type in the SMS Center number from your operator, then press Update
7. Press "back" buton on your phone till you reach homescreen again
Note: Pressing Update without having something in that field, will efectively erase the actual stored number (if any). No SMS will be send in that case
Thank you so very much you just helped me big time.
It is not working at all with me
Dear All,
I have just tried all those steps
when I write the smsc in the testing application and click update it is stored in a strange format like this Number,129 ... what ever i entered it in the pdu format or the 12 number format it is not working
I have tried to put my sim card in a simple nokia phone and it is working there but not on my galaxy tab
Please help
I was using my SGS (i9000 galaxymtd) just for media, internet, game etc purposes, in other words, not as a phone as i own a HOX, however, since i have dropped my HOX a couple of days ago and got a broken display, had to leave it for repair and came back to my SGS. Apart from the spontaneous reboot -on its own- issues which could be endured for a short period of time, but sms (?). I am trying to keep my SGS alive thanks to CM, and now i am really surprised (badly of course) how such an important, even one of the main parts of a mobilephone usage could be disregarded by CM. I have tried the solution adviced above, with no success; tapping on "update" button after entering smsc number turns "error", refresh button puts "00" (doubled zero) into that field, nothing else happens. Surprisingly i can receive sms, but sending is not possible. "Sms service center" should be somewhere in settings in sms application, or somewhere under network settings in general, but no, nowhere. Really annoying. Since i will not use CM as my daily driver, i do not really care actually, but just wondering; 1) is it only me who simply cannot find it, 2) how to fix it?

I have a OnePlus One A0001 CyanogenMod version 11.0-XNPH44S Android version 4.4.4, and have that exact same problem. I've tried with 4 different text-messaging apps, did the Testing hidden menu thing (no error after doing Update, it just did nothing), and still if my phone is not online (either wifi or data), it will not send (or receive for me) any SMS.
