Apologies if this has been discussed. I did a search and nothing came up. I know Microsoft released an update for Office Mobile V.6.1. I looked at the version installed on the Kaiser and it was 6.1. Is this version on Kaiser different than the update just released by Microsoft? Do I need to update it with the new update?

I think it's the same. Dutty Throy alluded to this in an earlier post in this thread. But I may be wrong as I haven't seen the Microsoft update.

even i have this question after taking a look at the video.. wm6.1 today looks and feels completely different than what we have been cooking around here and the official is much much much better

I hope so!, I see the standard version of WM6.1 for Smartphone and the interface improvements are amazing! in other hand the profesional version we had seen until now has only cosmetic improvements in its interface.

I sent HTC an e-mail inquiring about the ROM release of Windows Mobile 6.1 for the AT&T Tilt and this was there response.

Also the e-mail I sent to AT&T asking the same question, was told that the manufacturer (HTC) would be providing a ROM update if there was one... So apparently it's still a mystery!

Are there any ROMs here containing the official WM 6.1? Everything I see is either based on the leaked betas, or they don't state it (at least to clear enough for me).

The answer is no. Although Microsoft has officially released 6.1 and announced certain devices that will eventually get the upgrade, the manufacturers have not released the upgrades yet.

MS presented on WMC 2009, that in 2nd half of 2009 it will be distributed among manufacturers. First WM 6.5 should be on market in beginning of Q4 (october). But, it might be delayed.
we have 6.5 ROMS for other phones (Pocket PCs).. when will smartphones get it?
Once the standard version leaks somewhere! If you find it somewhere, just post it, I'll try to port it!
BTW: I'll upload a multi-language 6.1 Neo ROM soon!
Hey, just one thing I'm a bit confused about.
I remember reading on the WM twitter page in May that WM6.5 had RTM'd. So how are we still getting new builds then?
Or am I mistaken in thinking in terms of desktop OS's, and perhaps MS just constantly work on builds of WM??

Just read @ the Inq that they'll have a "Windows Phone" preview posted tomorrow, so I'm guessing a general release will happen next week.
Hmmmm..... my acer m900 is supposed to be WM6.5 upgradeable and whislt there is a cooked rom for it, I wonder if this is why they haven't released a new firmware for it yet......

Isn't it next month sometime? Although I must admit I'm not too excited about the prospect - 6.1 does a great job for me and I haven't read anything to sell 6.5 ... open to offers on that one tho

if im not mistaken, it was said that they would ship out mobilephones with 6.5 in time for christmas, so maybe a little sooner ( a month or maybe more) for a plain upgradre/update?
Does anyone know whether I will have to reinstall all my software when I upgrade to WM 6.5 or would I be able to keep everything intact and just upgrade the OS?

Upgrade to 6.5 will be same as flashing a new ROM.
All gone, your device is again like a virgin, just as it was when you bought it.
I heard should be in Dec 2009, maybe early Dec.

Yes. At least for the unbranded HTC version.
