When is 6.5 getting released? Did Microsoft announce any deadline? Heard it is gonna have Zune software packaged with it; true?

MS presented on WMC 2009, that in 2nd half of 2009 it will be distributed among manufacturers. First WM 6.5 should be on market in beginning of Q4 (october). But, it might be delayed.
we have 6.5 ROMS for other phones (Pocket PCs).. when will smartphones get it?
Once the standard version leaks somewhere! If you find it somewhere, just post it, I'll try to port it!
BTW: I'll upload a multi-language 6.1 Neo ROM soon!

Microsoft's Windows Mobile website (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/6/default.mspx) is still harking on about WM6 - so its not likely to be coming any time soon as a Professional (ie PDA) version (if it is coming at all - http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/...-version-of-windows-mobile-behind-closed-doo/)
We'll all just have to wait for a release from Redmond
Googled it up, references say Microsoft plans on shipping 6.1 in february 2008 and all devices coming after march 2008 will be shipped with 6.1! Had a look at the UI thumbnails, not OUTRAGEOUSLY impressed!!

i did an article over this a little while back, windows mobile 6.5 is due out in a little while, but wm7 is a long way off
well I all I know is that all WM Phone that has been made in the past 6 months should get a FREE upgrade to WM7. I say this because WM7 Should have came out by now but like always MS likes to push dates back and the phones was made for WM7.
and if we dont then I'm saying BYE to WM and HI to iPhone.

Well hey -- it looks like Windows Mobile 6.5 will arrive a little earlier than expected. A post on the WinMo team blog says that the update to Redmond's smartphone platform will officially launch on May 11, the first day of the Tech Ed conference. We're figuring that could mean we'll see the gold build demoed for the very first time, seeing how the version showed off at the glamorous MWC launch was described as an "alpha" cut. Of course, after that it's all up to the carriers and handset manufacturers as to when we'll actually see the OS loaded onto devices, but we're sure the hacking community will find a way to satiate the impatient until then -- or until Windows Mobile 7 comes out.

Hey, just one thing I'm a bit confused about.
I remember reading on the WM twitter page in May that WM6.5 had RTM'd. So how are we still getting new builds then?
Or am I mistaken in thinking in terms of desktop OS's, and perhaps MS just constantly work on builds of WM??

Just read @ the Inq that they'll have a "Windows Phone" preview posted tomorrow, so I'm guessing a general release will happen next week.
Hmmmm..... my acer m900 is supposed to be WM6.5 upgradeable and whislt there is a cooked rom for it, I wonder if this is why they haven't released a new firmware for it yet......

Isn't it next month sometime? Although I must admit I'm not too excited about the prospect - 6.1 does a great job for me and I haven't read anything to sell 6.5 ... open to offers on that one tho

Upgrade to 6.5 will be same as flashing a new ROM.
All gone, your device is again like a virgin, just as it was when you bought it.
I heard should be in Dec 2009, maybe early Dec.

In regards with Windows Mobile 6.5 it will only be avaliable in October World Wide . Is not advisable to download the XDA Rom because you will lose the warranty of the device .

Yes. At least for the unbranded HTC version.
