Hi, I have a HTC P3600 WM6Pro with bepe rom. In the comm manager I can disconnect from a data connection but can't enable one with out opening another program first ie Opera or Slingbox.
Is there a cab to enable this in the comm manager settings or using the data icon on the top of the screen, which i'm sure i was able to do on a previous PPC.
Thanks in advance,
Andy.
Don't know The exact answer to your question but I am using PhoneAlarm and the skin that I am using as the Today Screen Plug-In has a very convenient icon to swItch On and Off the data connection.
Though I have not used the other one myself but I hear that SPB GPRS Monitor also provides a similar Today Screening Plug-In

Hi all,
upgraded to WM 5.0 few days ago and everything works great.
I have one small issue, though: I cannot see my Default GPRS connection in the connection bubble; every time I want to connect I need to go to start->settings->connections->connections then tap'hold on my connection and (finally !) select connect.
Annoying.
With 2003/SE I had my connection directly in the "connection" bubble on the today screen, two taps and it was done :?
Am I missing some settings or is this a known issue ? Maybe somebody can suggest some registry hack to do that ?
Thanks
Probably you aren't missing anything. This is a shortcoming in WM5. I have the JJ and even in this unit when you tap the bubble it does not show the default gprs connection link. It only shows Settings.
You are right it calls for unnecessary navigation. I hope they fix it in some future version upgrade
In continuation to my above post there is tip. If you have spb gprs monitor installed it provides as a today plug-in an icon which directly connects to the default data connection (gprs or csd whatever is in default)

Thanks for the tip, I'll check that.
Apologies if this is in the wrong area. I have spent alot of time researching this issue and im yet to find a resolution. I am working in area with a strict SOE on the dekstop PC. I have an O2 XDA Atom. with activesync 4.5 I am using GPRS to connect to the internet on my o2 this is working fine. however the problem occurs when i dock the O2 into its cradle. the GPRS connection will cut and i wont be able to reconnect it. I have changed the properties of activesync and my O2 between 'my work' and 'the internet' to no joy. I realise i can do this by turning off accept usb connections in activesync but then i cannot control my O2 with the software installed on my machine..
what i want to be able to do is run MSN on my O2 continually all day and be able to view the screen from my desktop along with it syncing my calendar etc. if there is any articles which can help me that would be good ive been trying to resolve this for some time now to no avail.
Thankyou in advance
in connections in settings you change which connection programs use
I am looking for GPRS or 3G Connection ON/OFF application, if it exist for WM 6.1 or does it exist already in my X7510?
I know I can disconnect by tapping on the "E" icon, and I can automatically connect if I open an application needing 3G, but having an actual toggle option would be nice.
Any suggestions please....???
Try Modaco NoData or a program called Bandswitch.
Hope the title says everything about my problem.
HTC P3452 (ELFIN) using a custom 6.1 ROM(with the default MS BT stack)
Windows XP Professional SP3 using Widcomm BT stack
UTSTARCOM router to connect to the internet.
My problem:
I want to use bluetooth as the primary medium of connection between PC and PPC .
By 'connection'; I only mean efficient file sharing and internet connection sharing (only from PC to PPC; not the other way round; 'cause I don't have a GPRS/EDGE data plan on my PPC)
MS Activesync does both of these (but not very efficiently) , and there are a lot tutorials on how to connect PC and PPC using Bluetooth and then sync them using Activesync. But as everyone knows, being the crappiest software ever Activesync often auto-disconnects, even if the PC and PPC are still connected by bluetooth .
Using the ready-made solutions provided by the Widcomm Software, it's very easy to share files, as the MS stack supports FTP.
The Widcomm software also offers a service named "My network access" and creates a Bluetooth LAN connection on PC; and those were supposed to be able to establish a LAN connection between PC and PPC over Bluetooth, but it doesn't .
(The MS BT stack of Windows Mobile doesn't enable PAN by default. I used a hack by some user of this forum (wm6btpan) . But that doesn't seem to solve the problem either, although it enables me to use my PPC as a remote control.. )
So at this point, I need your help in establishing the connection between the PC and PPC so that the PPC can use PC's internet connection. For the last 1.5 days I have searched nearly hundreds of resources but nowhere found a complete solution working for a HTC Touch. If , with your help ,I can get my setup going, then I promise to put up a full fledged tutorial on how to do this...
Hoping early response..

read this?
as I ve already written , I 've already gone through hundreds of threads in different forums, and it was definitely one of them.. the last few instructions
are..
# Tap the Bluetooth icon and tap the link saying Bluetooth Manager.
# Tap the starred Bluetooth icon.
# Tap the Join a personal network.
# Select Join a personal network option and tap Next.
# After your Connection Wizard sees your computer, select it and select Finish so that your HTC Creates a shortcut for this connection named Network with '?InsertYourComputersNameHere'. Please note that there is no need for a secure/encrypted connection.
# Double tap or hold and select Connect to the Network with '?InsertYourComputersNameHere' to make a connection with your access point.
# At this point or later, your HTC will ask you if this connection is a Work or Internet connection. I have chosen this as my Work connection.
But in HTC TOUCH there is no "bluetooth manager" or "join a personal network option" (probably they were in WM5). So this wiki doesn't help much..
anyway thanks for your response.
no one else interested ?
hey.. forum veterans.. please respond...
still no one ?
forum mod, can u please move it to the elfin forum ?
Hi!
What is the best application for monitoring usage of all the different connections in the winmo device (I have a Diamond2 btw)?
I have tried SPB Wireless monitor, but didn't like it for some reasons. The main thing I'm after is the ability to separate the usage on all the different connection type
ActiveSync
Wifi
GPRS/EDGE/3G
MMS data
To me it doesn't look like SPB Wireless can do this separation.
Any other recommendations?
Regards,
PK
SPB does it for me, monitors all connections individually. That said the only one i use is GPRS/3G which it quite correctly aggregates into one connection.
Hi!
I have tried SPB wireless monitor and it works good with the cell based connections (GPRS/EDG/3G), what I miss is the Wifi and ActiveSync part.
Regards,
PK
Mine does USB and wifi as well, they need to be enabled on the Today settings bit though. I'm running version 3.0.1.
Hi!
OK, I see! I run TouchFlo 3D on my device so I haven't tried the today plugin part of the application, just the "standalone" mode.
Regards,
PK
