Hi guys,
I have just upgraded from the Hermes to the Kaiser and would like to transfer my SMS/MMS inbox from the old handset to the new one.
Is it as simple as copying the Windows\Messaging folder from the old device to the new one?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Does anybody know of any way to migrate (copy) messages from WM2003(XDA2 Mini) to a WM2005 device? I tried the follwing :-
smsorganizer (can't work in WM2005)
sunnysoft backup manager (Messages are imported, but nothing is shown in the inbox)
Is there any other way of doing so? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Use jeyo mobile extender for outlook
it backs ups all your messages to outlook. You can then download them all to a new mobile. Like I did from m1500 to exec and wizard.
Yes Thanks! I did come across just after i posted and it worked perfectly!!!

Try PIM Backup. worked for going from my wizard to my fuze
Signup for an exchange account. It's the easiest way I've ever found to carry my contacts over easily between phones and post ROM flash - especially if you're contract is a flat internet rate.
I'm currently running Touch Pro, with a StrTrk as backup for when I don't want to carry the Pro out, and a Typhoon for when I'm in a candybar mood. All of them are set to sync to my exchange server, so I don't ever need to worry about one phone having someone's old number - just pop my SIM in and go out.
I've got a mail2web account - it's only Exchange 2003 but it's free and that's the bit that's important to me!
Hello.
Ive got an old 750v and now ive bought a new Pro.
Now I want to extract all my SMS from the 750 to my Pro.
I tried several tools:
ZedSoft smsOrganizer
Kai`s SMS Backup.Net
PIM Backup
Brian Hama`s Windows Mobile SMS Sync
Jeyo Mobile Extender
But no solution worked for me. It always says that there isnt any message on the phone.
I ve found out, that my messages are stored in a file called PalmMsgV001 and usually are stored in cemail.vol. Is this the problem why all these tools couldnt find any message on my old Treo? Have these two files the same encryption, so that I can copy it to the other device? In that case, how can I overwrite a protected file? Or is there another tool out that will do it for me?
Can anyone help please?
thx Peter
Hey! So I want to migrate my contacts from my Treo 700wx running Windows Mobile 5 to my new myTouch 3G. One problem: I can't find my Treo's data transfer cable. Is there any other way I can sync my contacts to Outlook?
If you know other methods in doing this, please share.
Thanks!
use Sprite Migrate http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/migrate/how-does-it-work-
You can also try using a CSV file, upload to google/Gmail and then on your new phone, good luck...
