Do you flash the one i send you, or the one you made?
Anyway, put the Kaiser in bootloader mode (you have HardSPL ), and flash WWE ROM you can find in Austinsync sticky thread.
Cheers.

I flash WWE Cooked ROM and it work fine. I hope Tadzio figure out a way to make CHT ROM work.
Do you think is there something wrong with ROM re-construction the procedure?

Glad to hear you are on the road again
I'll take down the link to CHT reconstructed ROM for now.
I don't beleave related with the procedure, cause i used to reconstruct the spanish Kaiser ROM, and someone in the thread post about other successfully reconstructed ROM, so perhaps is related to part02.raw itself, but don't know. I sent a message to Tadzio, waiting the answer.
Cheers.

Yes, i view this in the dump folder.
Strange, seems Dopod ROM don't use the same method for the keybd.
Anyway, i attach the CAB to see if works for kfluk in the WWE ROM.
Good luck, i hope.

Hello jcespi2005,
Before and after install, it seems the same. (I am now use Helmi_Kaiser_1.57.00.03_AKU.0.7.0.Cooked_clean+bigstorage.exe"
no luck until now. Chinese Keyboard has a button call "switch input". This button now mapped to "Tab".
For other button has the following error. (all button said press Fn)
A = _ (original is Tab)
S = " (original is _)
Switch Input = Tab
All other button is ok.
Will switch to other ROM. WWE ROM seems not fit my hardware. Feeling is strange.
** Update: The Switch Input button may be no problem in mapping. I found this button work in word prediction. Just different function in WWE and CHT ROM.

hello kfluk and all guys in this thread!
glad to see someone studying the Chinese ROM
coz i had tried to cook the ROM with English UI that supports chs/cht,but failed.the result was the same as kfluk's.just froze at the smart mobility screen.
i guess ive taken the wrong way to modify the .hv file.
but my kaiser with hspl wasnt bricked and came back to life.
try this method to flash your device again:
1,connect your device with computer using usb cable
2,boot your device, give it some seconds when you see the smart mobility screen and some red words at the right bottom
3.run the KaiserCustomRUUv1.exe(of cause there would be one .nbh os file near it in order to flash into your kaiser),click all "NEXT" you can until it says "verifying the information on your ...."
4.camera+power+reset hold
in this way i flash my rom as normal, hope that could help you.
about the CHT keyboard mapping problem
just need to modify some key in registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
change"CurLang" to 404 (Hex)
if you see a dword named "CWSLayout",del it or change it to"0"
then soft-reset
i make a cab to you,too transfer to your device and run it->soft-reset
after that i think the letters are now assigned to the right key buttons

Brick was solved. I just don't know how to enter boot loader mode before.
Thanks for keyboard registry, I will apply it to test.
btw, I found if modify registry key HKLM\MUI change SysLang from 404 to 409 and HKLM\nls change SystemLCID from 404 to 409.
Result will make WM6 can display Chinese and use default English font.
Since apply Chinese font and input to WWE kaiser will cause it use ugly font display english. Furthermore, it cause some menu not display properly too.
the above registry fix it. I found and apply yesterday night and result is good. No side effect until now.

For CAB manage, you can use WinCE CAB Manger from http://www.ocpsoftware.com/ and for modify the ROM packages, every package ussually have a .RGU text file with the registry entrys, so you can edit with notepad.
To create packages in this thread you have a little guide...

I found voice recognizer in CHT ROM is much better than WWE. Since it does not require training and able to use immediately.

Let us know if it works, would be a handy little fix for some ROMs me thinks and we could stick it in the Registry Tweaks section.
it has 2 work, but remember, if its in ROM set to unhide u will have to do after each hardrst
Doesn't work because registry has no such keys...only TRUEFFS_DOC1 and TRUEFFS_DOC2...
2durius, send me your hklm regexport. [email protected]
1st Unlock, than Unhide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300022
But before you unlock/unhide, backup the orginal Registry (before unlock/unhide), so to hide/lock, just copy back the registry.

Hide/unhide the extened rom
In my HTC apache wm5 aku3.5:
A:
to unhide the extended rom, do the following:
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1
Change the DWORD Value of "MountHidden" to 0 to unhide the extended rom.
B:
To hide:
Change to 1.
The softwares in the extended rom still work. But you can't see the files in the extended rom after you hide the rom.
I have tried all of them and nothing has happened.
Also I'm doing a soft reset everytime....

Hi,
I have been on this site for about a week now. I was drawn here by the desire to take my Imate JamIn up to WM6.
So I pulled from the web the file:
RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID_QTEK and hurled it onto my PDA
It went from Imate to QTEK but still worked pretty well. So I then went and loaded Upgrade Happy from a site in Roumania.
This loaded but was distinctly unimpressive and unstable so I managed to downgrade to the WM5 file above again.
Then I tried Smart1's v2 WM6 file and this went on OK. However, I have experienced a few issues with the battery and other things like Timewizard, etc.
So I have gone back to the NVID_QTEK WM5 file again.
BUT I would really like to put back on my Imate ROM which I have stored away. Sadly, whenever I try and load the ROM it states that the version is lower and I can only do an UPGRADE ( I get a 286 error).
I have searched here and Google and think that I can Un CID my phone (not actually sure what this does mind). I have read posts suggesting that once done I can load any version of any Prophet ROM on my PDA.
I went off and ended up on PDAMobiz and pulled down a file called:
PDAMobiz.com_ProphetAKU2_unlockCID.rar
But this site is incredibly slow and the file is corrupt when I finally get it down.
Can anyone explain to me whether it is possible to get to reload my earlier ROM version Imate ROM? If it is can anyone explain what I need to do and perhaps put up a link to an area where I can pull the tools down.
This website has a great reputation for helping each other out and I am sure that my ignorance will be forgiven,
Kind Regards,
Sam.
Hi
This is because you have upgraded your ipl/spl and these can't be downloaded.
But don't worry it's not a problem
if you have the original rom you should have a .nbf file?
You can use typho5.exe -x xxx.nbf (whatever it is called) this will extract the individual elements (ipl/spl/os/extrom/radio/splash screens) as .nb files.
Then use nb2nbf to build a new nbf file without spl/ipl parts. copy this file back to your backup folder (rename the original one first) and install again
Good Luck
Thanks - I have just a couple more dumb questions...
FlykThewiz,
Many thanks for your help.
I have the file:JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_shi.exe
Do you know how I get the .NBF out of it?
Also,
You couldn't point me to the tools you mention could you?
If I do what you said then do I get back my own Imate Splash screen too?
Do you know if I will suffer any problems with things being different versions?
Once again many thanks I will let you know how I get on.
Kind Regards,
Sam.
You can use winrar (free download - search google if you don't have it) to extract the files in your exe.
One of the file will be the nbf.
I will sort out the instructions for you but I have to go out for a couple of hours at the moment.

flykthewiz,
You are simply The MAN
Many, Many thanks,
Sam.
I don't know about being the man - i had the same problem myself.
Attached is a zip file with the two tools you need.
I suggest you create a folder called c:\rom and copy the contents of your exe file and these to programs into it.
goto a dos cmd window and cd \rom
type "typho5 -x nk.nbf" (no quotes)
you will then have a number of *.nb files in c:\rom
rename nk.nbf to nk.org
send me the list of nb files you have.
ZIPPED with winzip 12

thanks
Splash Screens
There are two splash screens - the one you mention is the first (often blank)
The second is 9d000000-xxx.nb this is the one that is displayed most of the time when the phone is booting. To enter this in nb2nbf you need to manually enter "HTC Logo" as the image name.

Thanks,

Ok
fill in nb2nbf like the image in the attached zip file.
Important notes:
1. use the ... browse buttons to select your files and the length field will be filled in for you (the image shows mostly zeros)
2. the image name for the extended rom is Extension Rom (not Extended) and you have to type it manually - its not in the drop dow list.
3. the start address for OS.nb is 80040000 (not 82040000 which the program defaults to)
4. you need to manually type HTC Logo in image type - its not in the list.
Do not add the ipl and spl files! (these are the ones that are causing your problems)
When its all filled in click on Translate and when that is finished exit the program.
If you have copied all of the contents of your extracted exe to c:\ROM you should have a program called ROMUpdateUtility.
Connect your pda to usb and run this program and follow the instructions (you've done this before )
After its finished your phone will hard reset and you should have your original ROM.
It doesnt matter that ipl and spl are different versions
Good Luck

Nearly there
FlykTheWiz,
Many thanks for the instructions. I have done what you suggested with NB2NKF
However, When I try to run my RUU utility I get error code 238 Cannot Read the file.
I extracted all files into a single directory and replaced the default .NBF with my new one. Then ran the RUU tool.
Am I being a numpty?
Many thanks,
Sam.
hmmm
Try the appropriate RUU from the attached
If your ipl ends in .000 use G3 version
if ends in .0001 use G4 version

I would just like to thank you for your kindness and patience. I have now got the HTC device reblown to the original condition that I started from (with the exception of the IPL/SPL).
Using the G4 utility worked for me.
On the way I have learned a great deal and appreciate your assistance.
Thank you very much,

Flykthewiz... Many thanks for your input to this thread... your tutorial has helped me (and many of us) more than almost ANY other on this site!!! You are obviously very knowledgeable in this "art"!!!!
Since we have not seen much input from Jesterz or Smart1 lately (I can understand that it is time-consuming...!) , can I suggest that maybe you could take up the reigns and offer to this community your first Prophet ROM build??? (Any +AKU base will be a help??)
Please do consider doing this - I *know* you can do this and although I appreciate it can take a lot of your personal time and effort to achieve.. I am sure that your contribution will be appreciated and valued by us all, if u were to attempt such a project!!?
If not, we do understand... but please stay around here and continue to help us all with your flykth-wiz-dom!!!

I only started looking at modifying ROM's 2 days ago and it is a minefield. I have absolutely every respect for Jesterz, Smart1, Nghianha, and all of the guys over at PDAMobiz. I think it will be a long while before I am anything like of their calibre!

Thanks for your vote of confidence, but I have to say - you must be joking
I only started looking at modifying ROM's 2 days ago and it is a minefield. I have absolutely every respect for Jesterz, Smart1, Nghianha, and all of the guys over at PDAMobiz. I think it will be a long while before I am anything like of their calibre!

well i had read the forum instructions and for change boot and welcom screen.
but something is wrong with the typho5. its suppose to extract nb 9200000 files but the application starts without extracting nobthing.
i would like to change the welcome screen from the PDAMobiz to some thing personal. i follow instruction but they dont fit the results i get.
any idea?
thanks to all
specially to the guys in PDAMobiz, who made the best of the best Rom
I want too to make a personal bootscreen...if someone can help us with a little tutorial, we are waiting..thx
Try this
The pdf manual in this thread has a section on updating boot screen and all the tools required to do it are included too.
I do not suggest everybody trys to get into the ROM cooking that is also described, but the splash screen section is fairly straitforward
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297027
first, with this tool you can create your own ROM (customized)...and also splash screens...see the manual pdf

well to make it easy to understand where we stand this is the only file we must change. but there is a problem. the original file is read only and can not be replaced nor rename or moved. not with total comander , not even unlock extended rom. after a small research i found that the file is integrated with in the original ROM not the extended.
so i am looking for a tool to delete/install files into the ROM when present on the device.
it sims that that cannot be done. we must dump the present rom, sort of cook it on our PC than re- install it with changes done.
at the same time since most of us are very happy with the ROM as is , but want to personal it littel bit, its worth a dedicated tool.
i will look into it. if i find a way i will post it here.
thanks for the great job of the PDAMobize last version .
good tool and very stable
You do not need to look into it!!!!
Read the previous two posts and look at the pdf manual in the download - it describes the tools you need to change you images (without cooking a complete rom)
And it doesnt need a hard reset either!

Worked for me
You do need to use a prophet nvid ruu program though

If you have created your nk.nbf file, you can replace the one in this file (rename it to zip)
rename it back to exe and execute, it worked on my prophetG4 with WM6 on it
Hi all,
I need some advice on doing something that was fairly easy to do in WM6.0 ROMs, which is changing the default keyboard skin by replacing the msim.96.dll.0409.mui file.
I've tried a number of WM6.1 ROMs and this does not work. The only way I have been able to get the .mui file working was to re-cook the ROM and using an OEM package. Even after I re-cook with a new keyboard skin and try to replace the .mui file it does not work. Very strange.
Any of the cooks out there have any ideas why this is? I did a reg. dump of a ROM with and without the keyboard OEM package but did not find anything specific that would show why this does not work.
Appreciate any feedback. I know this works without any issues in WM6.0 ROMs.
Thank you.
Don't know what your doing wrong buddy but most of the time you need to cook the new .mui file in like I always do and i have no issue with the WM6.1 roms ever using the grey keyboard that I always use in my roms. To get this straight your dumping the rom and then copying the new .mui file right over the old file if there is one at all then rebuilding the rom? that is the only way it will work you can't copy over it once you have rebuilt the rom it needs to be cooked in.
austinsnyc,
Thanks for the response.
If I cook the .mui file in a ROM it works fine. The problem is not being able to replace the file (even though the file is overwritten). I was able to do this in WM6.0 ROMs but it doesn't seem this is possible in WM6.1 ROMs and I just wanted to confirm it.
So if I dump, change file, re-cook, works fine. I guess I'll have to do that with any of the new WM6.1 ROMs I end up running.
Thanks again.

Actually you can change it easily via cab install but you need to sign it first. You can try the attached cab, and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1610615&postcount=3 for other skin.
Try this. First import the attached Keyboard Cert registry file (use dotfred's task manager which does registry editing, or resco registry editor). Once you do that, you should be able to use the various keyboard cabs. I've attached one that has like 20 keyboard styles you can choose from (uses mortscript to do this). Choose the one you want, soft reset, and presto...

Hello guys,
Now i´ve got my brand new Touch2 and have a problem with the nwe GUI...
I don´t like the new start menu, i want the old one back.
Is there a way to get back to the old one?
Or is WinMob 6.5 just an optical package, so that there is no chance to use the old startmenu again?
Thanks 4 help
PS.: I know, my english is bad, Sorry :-(
start >> settings >> today >> [tab items] and uncheck TouchFlo , check windows-standard
Thanks for your Answer, but it´s not what I mean.
I mean the classic old startmenu, like you know it from Windows 5.0 - The classic DropDown-list which is only usable with the stylus...
I don´t like the "Finger" menu with the big symbols in...
Sorry, I don´t know to explain an other way in english :-(
