error 244. when i flash my rom with CustomRUU.What's the matter? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

helloooo,everybody
i used ImgfsTools 2.1rc1 and followed bro Tadzio's introduction to cook my rom based on helmi_c's rom~
everything goes well
after NBMerge, i used dutty's tool to generate the os-new.nbh
and flashed it with pof's KaiserCustomRUUv1
but just 1%,my device rebooted and the KaiserCustomRUUv1 tells:
error 244: INVALID MODEL ID
it was still though i didnt modify anything in 'dump' directory
if i flash helmi_c's rom directly, that would be successful
what's wrong i have done? any tips?
forgive my broken Englsh pls...

did you flash HardSPL to your Kaiser first?

heh... I had the exact same problem as yours (invalid model id). Using HTC Rom tool, I forgot to set Kaiser as the target ID for the nbh & it defaulted to hermes (I've since edited the ini file to change this).

yea.
i've got HSPL already and i have flashed the other roms many times, thats no problem.
fortunately that error just made my tytnII reboot and i can enter today screen, nothing change at all.

i believe your question was just answerd above and i also take it as SLEUTH getting a kaiser? thats cool man welcome to the new club house

Thanks.... the Hermes was getting too reliable (boring)

Seems thats also now the case with the Kaisers lol... Tazdio's tools work great now after about 2 weeks of flashing roms that didnt work lol...

Oh I dunno... that pesky gps acquisition bug needs fixing and the PIE scroll freeze issue is a cooked in only patch so far. Tadzio is going to send me an updated toolset too itnf hopefully.... I'm itching to flash up a quick personal version with reghacks/PIE fix & maybe a different External GPS app. I may even adapt the hermes GPS RIL shim to express the Kaiser GPS on COM7 so the hermes external GPS applet can handle it.

so that scroll freeze issue in PIE doesn't just happen to me?! what a freakin relief!!!!

It's a real PITA for sure.... I've tried to make a cab to fix it but my initial attempt trashed my phone's RIL for some reason. I'll look at the dependencies more soon...

and add key "40C1", "40C2", "40C3" and "40C4"
Thats ALL
P.S.
40C1 - calendar, 40C2 - contacts, 40C3 - record and 40C4 - camera

As a workaround extract the attachment into DEV\OEM\ and rebuild. I compiled it for the German AKU2.0 ROM.
Tnx Bepe for your great work!

IIWPO integrated into Himalaya ROM
Bepe offers us the great option to integrate this well-known theft protection into our ROMs.
Just extract the attachment into DEV/OEM. Open 97bd8b8c-5fe5-4bb1-8ede-f55865d7baf8.rgu with wordpad. Put in your name as you will enter it in the 'Owner Information' as well as a MSISDN to where short message should be sent in case somebody modifies the 'Owner Information'. Rebuild.
Works as is only on German devices. Modify '\Windows\Autostart' in initflashfiles.txt to appropriate folder name of your language (e.g. '\Windows\Startup' in WWE).
df2jh
Is this method designed for the Himalaya only, or would it work for the Universal as well?
I need some help to make DEV and ROM packages for Wizard (I've never used a Wizard)…
Maybe there is somebody there who already used mamaich’s tools to edit a Wizard ROM?
@thefunkunfaked
Sorry,
only Himalaya for the moment, next will by BA and Wizard.
Universal will by last because of the VGA resources (those make thinks difficult).
@df2jh
Wow.. great thanks, you are the first one building packages.
It’s the first time I hear about IIWPO nice app.

ActiveSync like WM2003?
My device now will be recognized as "PocketPC USB Sync" when connected via USB. That ´s the way WM2003 did it. It´s faster and more reliable than the WM2005 method via netwotk connection "Windows Mobile-based Device" and TCP/IP. Great, how did you manage that?
but we lose the network connection on it
now i can't surf on internet or connect the msn true the activesync

Always bootloader screen

Hi, I've a vodefone v1240 (HTC Tornado), i've tried to flash wm6 flash to it... but... i haven't super cid unlock... the flash is ok but phone always star in muticolor screen (botloader screen), i've tried to flash a lot of flashes but always get invalid vendor id or "only upgrade"... i've tried too with TyphoonNbfTool to edit nbf and change vendor id.. but always get the same mensaje ("invalid vendor id" or "only upgrade")...
How can i recover my phone? :S
Thanks

Determine your original CID first, to do this type:
Code:

Ok, using typhoonnbftool v0.41 open up a tornado nbf (wm6 or official, it doesnt matter) and then edit the header data so that the Operator field reads:
Code:
VODA0504
That is your original CID
Then save the nbf and flash it to your device

Hey Phil, Thanks very much for the update ! Your hard work is much appreciated here !!
Me too
I'm having the same problem as Sendoa. I flashed the WM6 ROM to my 8310but after 100% completion, the phone re-started in bootloader mode.
I can flash it again with the WM6 but the same thing happens each time (bootloader mode). I've tried to flash with several other ROMs but each time I get the "Invalid Vendor ID" error before flashing begins.
I've tried the Typhoonnbftool tool to change the header as suggested earlier in this thread but without any success. My CID is 'DNG_0501'. I'm still stuck in bootloader mode.
I'd appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
Straker.
Sorted
Sorted. Found another ROM (the fifth I've tried) that would flash without the 'Invalid Vendor' message. It let me get back to a standard WM5 setup.
Solved
Thanks to all
I flash it with a cingular flash with version changed to 79.79.79.79 and operator changed to VODA0504, and work again.. then i've unlock the cid and flash wm6 flash and it is working with it
Thanks again
Wow, that's cool, means I can flash my phone to WM6 without voiding my warranty ( I still got 5 months left )

No - that's not possible I Think.
But you can use sprite backup.
It worked perfectly for me when I flashed the ROM back.
But keep in mind that it only will work correctly on the same language of the ROMs.

Here is a trick I have used for quite some times with Sprite Backup 5.1
Sprite Backup version 5.1, version 6.02 is more fancy, 5.1 is good enough.
1. Do a full backup, make sure option Create Self Extract Exec
2. Hard reset (optional)
3. Flash new ROM
4. Run the backup file, make sure the Upgrade Mode Restore Option is Check.
5. Kneel down and pray (optional, or take a cup of coffee).
SKtools is handy.
Step 4 is most important. When it asks you for the upgrade fine, Click None. Minor cleanup unavoidable but heck a lot better than of re-install all the softwares.
Sometimes you may find the machine run slugglish by doing that. I am not sure why.
You may flash the new ROM, re-install all the softwares, see if the machine run faster, but few days later, you will feel it run slugglish. I am not sure why. (The laptop runs runs much faster than once I bought it and take it home and installed with applications.)
So I just keep buying new machines... hahaha
holy moly.
going great at 10% of flashing.
but i feel confident the tute was on the spot.
muchos gracias.
And yes you are right (you didn't say it but you must have thought it), I could have added it myself to WIKI. But just had to try it myself first off course.
And am i right in believing i could have allready replaced some of the graphical files in the dumped "ROM" directory?
Or is it to dangerous at this change because the file size needs to fit?

Do NOT change files in the dump directory without proper tools!!!
You will mess up the ROM
When you have a look at the dump directory there are some info files with data for the places in the ROM which need to be recalculated.

Dumping Elf WM6 Italian version ROM
Before trying to put new Rom images, i would like to backup the original one.
I followed the (simply) tutorial, but i'm confused about this step:
"need the ruu_signed.nbh from valid update (extract with winrar)"
Which file do I need?
I don't understand why I need a valid ROM when I'm trying to dump a Rom from my Elf
Can I use an other language ROM version (English, Dutch....) or is needed only an Italian one?
Thx in adv and sorry for my poor english

you need this as a "shell" or "template" because the .nbh files are made in a way that cannot be recontructed (so far I understand - correct me if I'm wrong).
And yes you can use an ROM with another language. I took the Australian ROM - look at the first paragraph "files you need"
This is usually a .exe file that you can extract with winrar (or winzip maybe)
P.S.: your english is not so bad

Don't upload to XDA. I've seen some directories with full roms on FTP. But this is no longer allowed and files will be deleted.
XDA's allready been in trouble with MS about this. So either use third party file sharing or privatly owned FTP.

I don't know yet - I still have to dig in the wiki about that.
It's very dangerous in this area - if you mess up IPL or SPL your baby is usually lost forever. I don't mind about those as long pof's USPL works beautiful.
Radio might be not so critical. But 2.97. is already available - so it would only be for the fun of it

[Help!]A chinese user confused with rom cooking.

Recently I download a few tools from here and follow the introduce I tried to cook my first Kaiser ROM, although every thing got all right a lucky greenhand failed to brick his Kaiser, my new rom tell me "NO BLUETOOTH DEVICE DETECTED", I checked files "BlueTooth" and "BlueTooth_Lang_0804" and even replaced it with same files from other rom but it just simply do not work...
I'll be greatful if somebody can spare his time to help me.
BTW, I'm using 20273 Main OS.
BTW2, Please, make your words foreigner friendly.
Thanks all the same.
Why my post can't be seen from the list?
Where did the OEM part of your kitchen come from?
You can get a ready made 20270 kaiser kitchen from ppckitchen.org. Updating that to 20273 is trivial, or you can wait for ppckitchen.org to release it. Not much noticeable difference between 20273 and 20270, however.
A chinese Kaiser form, the developer just said his OEM was not well modified. So I'll have to wait...
Thanks for your attention.

Iolite ROM porting

Just had a few questions to the cooks out there maybe can help me solve why porting the Iolite rom to the tilt is becoming an epic failure for me. I have tried xip porting three different ways with all the same results. First two i get a double beep than tap screen, but i can not tap the screen to get it to go on. Third way got single beep than tap screen and once again no response from the screen. I copied the sys over and g'relocd it. I have tried this with the 3.34 base. Do i need anything else? Is it necesarry to have the manila 2d included? Also on another note I tried with the AT&T rom as a base which works fine except the folders are empty and I can not make any data connections.
how did you port the SYS?
sounds like an SYS issue
I copied the SYS from the Iolite rom and ran g'reloc to the proper values. Unless im doing something wrong there. I have done the same when porting the blackstone roms minus the dpi192 folders. For this I just copied it all. Must i keep the dpi96 folders from the original rom for it to work. If so I feel noobish lol. on another note I also did try just copying the gwes.exe and the other per your sys porting guide (Thanks Mbarvian) and had the same results. Unless my XIP porting is not happening correctly.

Well, I can confirm this issue. See my post here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478647
I thought it was a SYS issue as well. However, I re-ported the SYS, didn't change anything in it. Just g'relocd, and went on. There is just one difference, I only had the touch screen not respond once. Every other time, no problems. Just still receiving that stupid double beep before the tap screen message. I can up a zip of my kitchen for anyone that wants to take a look at it. :/
Hey KMFM$
Yeah the double beep thing is weird. The only time I did not get the double beep was when I used the XipportEx thats posted on the forums, but every single time im getting no response from the touchscreen Really want to get a rom going. I want to develope a nice rom for the community to use, but I have much learning to do before I release something out. Currently I want to do release something with both a HTC and an AT&T base rom.

Yeah, that double beep is just driving me nuts. Off hand, do you know if you're using the XIP porting utility from ervius' (from the XIP Porting Tutorial in Dev&Hacking) or the similar one posted by lennysh? Also, are you using the SYS supplied in anryl's kitchen thread?
Hopefully, we can find an answer for this soon. I would like to release this ROM, but this is just one bug that I cannot deal with.

Hopefully, we can find an answer for this soon. I would like to release this ROM, but this is just one bug that I cannot deal with.

The three i have used are lenny's which produces the double beep
The manual from post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438676 also has the double beep.
Finally the one from ervius does not do the double beeping.
I extracted the iolite rom using htrcie than the packagebuilder. It has worked for me many times.
Still can't figure out why with the HTC rom no touchscreen, but the AT&T rom base works, but is seriously crippled.
Interesting. I'm using the XIPPorterEX from Ervius' and I'm receiving the double beep. I'm currently using the XIP and SYS supplied from anryl's kitchen thread. I'm having the hardest time finding the original files for porting. I don't know if I'm just searching the wrong thing or what. Oh well.

I downloaded it from this post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476828
Unless I extracted the XIP incorrectly or the rom itself. Not sure. Could go with the AT&T base and have no data connection and empty folders
alright,
I just manually ported the XIP and the SYS from the same ROM that you mentioned, and posted them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2953748
please give it a try and let me know if it works
good luck cooking

Thanks mbarvian! I'll give it a shot once I get home from work
Hmm. Just tried your port, mbarvian. It put me in the same boat as vonmolk. It doesn't make it past the splash screen. I'll try another kitchen and test again. Just for info, I'm using the 3.34 OEM and cmonex's 3.29Hard2 SPL.
@mbarvian: Note, I just took the folders as you had them, mbarvian, and added the OEM. Did you G'reloc the SYS folder? I didn't so I'll give that a try and test next.
EDIT After g'relocing, the ROM works. HOWEVER, I'm still getting the two chimes (beeps) before "Tap screen to setup device" displays. I'm going to try anryl's or abusalza's ports and see if those give the double beep before the "Tap screen" text. Thanks for the help, mbarvian.

Yes, I started with the 3.34 SYS folder, ported over the SYS (everything except the .VM folder), G'Reloc'ed it, and ported the XIP.
that's weird that it doesn't work, I'll look into it

Yeah noticed that when I tried his ROM out. Just no idea what is going on that is preventing a successful port over of this rom to the kaiser. I see two roms the hyperdragon and anryl's rom out there. Tried your port mbarvian and I get the same results

you have to G'Reloc the SYS again for some reason, before cooking and flashing it

Okay so run g'reloc once close and re-run it or just click do it and than do it again?
I'll give it a shot when i get home tonight.
Thanks Mbarvian for the help and the inspiration to get me start cooking when the tutorial post.

yes, just Open G'Reloc, and click "Doit!" until all of the modules are relocated (shown at the bottom of the window). You may have to do it twice or thrice.
No problem, I'm glad to be of assistance where I can be
good luck cooking
