Hi,
I see that Windows Mobile 6.1 (Smartphone) has the support for enrolling in a domain. I'm sure it will take Microsoft another year to get the Professional version running, and even longer for mobile networks to get it out to us, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any way to join a domain with a WM6 device?
I'm using an Artemis on O2.
Many Thanks
Hi Guys,
This is just a heads up. According to msmobiles, windows mobile 6.5 is out there.

World Exclusive: Windows Mobile 6.5 in pictures ...
While the arrival of Windows Mobile 6.5 for the year 2009 was announced here and there, then confirmed by Steve Balmer himself at the PDC 2008, Smartphone France is very pleased to present exclusive World 2 first screenshots of what should be Windows Mobile 6.5.
If for the moment there is no real information on the new version of Windows Mobile, what is happening is that Microsoft has finally decided to redesign the interface of the aging systems to try to catch up with his lags behind its competitors.
At visual we can see that Windows Mobile 6.5 is very close to what should be Windows Mobile 7. Does it mean that Microsoft has decided to completely revise their copy as regards WM7 and we propose intermediate version which should be initially WM7? In all what whatever happens in a case closely monitor ... although it will take many months before seeing a new version of Windows Mobile on the market.
MOD Edit: Revised thread title to avoid confusion.
Information about the OS has been released, the OS has not.
Hello to everyone,
now it's several days ago, that I have purchased my registration.
As a owner of a Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox, I was looking forward to an unofficial upgrade to wm5, because I want to run several new apps (e.g. mozilla fennec in future or now the latest opera mobile) on it, which doesn't work under wm2003SE.
Researching in the forum I found several threads, wich say, that there is no chance for an upgrade.
Now my question:
Is there somekind of an emulator or runtime, which allows me running wm5/6 apps wm2003SE?
Or would it be possible to develop something like that?
Thank you very much for your answers!
I searched on xda but didn't see if someone already posted this. If this is already old news, please delete this thread. Thanks.
Skype is no longer developed for Winmo: http://www.skype.com/mobile/
They are introducing Blackberry and Android: http://www.skype.com/mobile/reminder/
It still works on my HD2 though.

There is no mention of Windows Mobile on the homepage; however Skype did sign a contract with Verizon Wireless and that is now up on Skype's web page. I can tell you it works on my Touch Pro 2 with Wi-Fi. I hope this helps; take care!
Hey there XDA,
I'm working on an article for a website about how Windows Mobile played a part in shaping the current state of the Android community. I was curious if anyone knows (or is) a developer who went from WinMo to Android, or even better now works at HTC / Microsoft / Google and got started as a WinMo ROM chef.
Feel free to drop me a PM or reply, I'd love to get in touch with you!
