I have set up a push mail account with a hosted exchange server and this works brilliantly but I want to sync with outlook on another computer as well.
Before I started with the exchange setup I could sync with two devices and I used xtndconnect to filter the items that I wanted to sync on each.
Now when I try and sync with the second pc it connects, but as soon as the sync starts it disconnects Async (no errors)
Is there any way I can sync with the second pc - In reality I only want to sync calendar entries with a particular category.

Hi all,
I have an XDA IQ (HTC Tornado) device that on the whole I'm very happy with but it keeps throwing an annoying error message at me, every time I try to sync with my desktop PC.
Activesync is set up to synchronise with our corporate Exchange server, which we connect to via a private GPRS APN, which has no Internet connectivity. For my private POP3 email, I use O2's Mobile Web GPRS APN, which resolves to Internet. I've created a domain exception to ensure that whilst mobile, the correct connection is established, depending on whether I'm synchronising my private or corporate e-mail.
All is well here but when I connect to my windows PC to synchronise my other PIM data (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks & Favourites), my phone throws an error message at me, because I guess it's trying to sync to the Exchange server via my desktop PC and there is no connectivity.
The error reads: "Your Internet connection is not configured properly. Please verify your settings in Data Connections".
It makes no difference if I change my ActiveSync connection settings so that "This computer is connected to:" "Internet", "Work" or "Automatic" the error message always appears on my handset when I sync with my PC.
Can any of you think of any way around this please?
Is there any way of persuading ActiveSync not to sync with Exchange whilst connected to my PC or better still, to exclusively associate the Exchange sync with the private GPRS APN connection?
My guess is that anyone setting their device up to sync with Exchange via an internal WiFi network might be facing the same issue..
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
I've had issues like this before but usually a reboot of the computer and phone get it working again. Make sure you've installed the certificate for your webmail (if one is required) and that you can connect to the exchange server when you're not connected to the computer. You may also be having a problem on your internal network, try connecting to webmail from your desktop as well.
I have upgraded to 3.8 activesync and I cant choose partnership I am only a guest with no sync to my calendar etc.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
Elaine
Does anyone know how to get this working?
I have paired both the phone and the PC and ticked the bluetooth option on the sync software. I forget what is called, as its not activesync with vista.
Also does anyone know why outlook does not want to talk to my Orbit. It syncs the contacts, but not the calander?
Cheers
I use a USB connection which is much quicker. I had no problem syncing the calender, I just open WMDC, selected 'Mobile Device Settings' and then selected 'change content sync settings'. From there I checked which items I wanted to sync.
All depends on which bluetooth drivers you are using....
As far as I know...Toshiba and Microsoft stack are crap
Use widcomm drivers.... you can literally setup any bluetooth device.
Hello,
I have a PC at home, a PC at work and a laptop. I also have an exchange server connection to my Mail2web account.
How do I get around the 2 computer limit in active sync on my device, so that I can sync data between everything?
Thansk
Paul
I have the same problem. I have my home, laptop and car. I google searched here and the internet and have found very little. The only thing I have found was sync manager but I didn't wanna pay for something that old. It seems silly to have a limit of 2 these days.
it's seems that i can't find the right settings. I sync to an exchange server 2007 from my company. My configurations are already set up and works fine with a minor issue that i wish to solve.
- When i am over wifi or EDGE my phone just sync perfectly. I have a VPN connection, and activesync has the internal IP of the Exchange server. So i had set up an exception on settings-connections-connections-advanced-exceptions with the IP of the internal server. That forces the device to login to the VPN when i manually start a sync from the device.
- When i am over the PC (USB), on my LAN, and Activesync form the PC has the "This computer is connected to:" "Automatic" or "The Internet", it doesn't sync because the device tries to login to the VPN, which is not possible from inside the LAN. I had to change the PC ActiveSync option to "Work Network" as you can see on the attach picture in order to let the device sync on both scenarios (USB and Wifi/Edge) which works perfect. So, what's the problem? That when i use "Work Network" while connected through USB, the device can sync to local exchange, but can't connect to the internet (for example to browse a page). So i have to change that PC Activesync option every time i want to sync or browse the web.
Can anyone suggest me any configuration that let me do all the things (sync through the VPN when i'm on Wifi/EDGE, sync from PC when i am on USB on the LAN, and browse the web when i am also on USB without having to manually change Activesyn PC Settings?
Thanks!!!
