Does anyone know how to get this working?
I have paired both the phone and the PC and ticked the bluetooth option on the sync software. I forget what is called, as its not activesync with vista.
Also does anyone know why outlook does not want to talk to my Orbit. It syncs the contacts, but not the calander?
Cheers
I use a USB connection which is much quicker. I had no problem syncing the calender, I just open WMDC, selected 'Mobile Device Settings' and then selected 'change content sync settings'. From there I checked which items I wanted to sync.
All depends on which bluetooth drivers you are using....
As far as I know...Toshiba and Microsoft stack are crap
Use widcomm drivers.... you can literally setup any bluetooth device.

it's seems that i can't find the right settings. I sync to an exchange server 2007 from my company. My configurations are already set up and works fine with a minor issue that i wish to solve.
- When i am over wifi or EDGE my phone just sync perfectly. I have a VPN connection, and activesync has the internal IP of the Exchange server. So i had set up an exception on settings-connections-connections-advanced-exceptions with the IP of the internal server. That forces the device to login to the VPN when i manually start a sync from the device.
- When i am over the PC (USB), on my LAN, and Activesync form the PC has the "This computer is connected to:" "Automatic" or "The Internet", it doesn't sync because the device tries to login to the VPN, which is not possible from inside the LAN. I had to change the PC ActiveSync option to "Work Network" as you can see on the attach picture in order to let the device sync on both scenarios (USB and Wifi/Edge) which works perfect. So, what's the problem? That when i use "Work Network" while connected through USB, the device can sync to local exchange, but can't connect to the internet (for example to browse a page). So i have to change that PC Activesync option every time i want to sync or browse the web.
Can anyone suggest me any configuration that let me do all the things (sync through the VPN when i'm on Wifi/EDGE, sync from PC when i am on USB on the LAN, and browse the web when i am also on USB without having to manually change Activesyn PC Settings?
Thanks!!!
I manage to get IP to IP connections with my laptop over Wifi and over USB activesync. But not when activesync is connected via bluetooth. Now why is that? For example the proggie called mobile panel (which is a promotional app for sms control center) doesn't work because of that. Neither does ftp server (PPC side) based file sync. And of course outlook sync runs perfect in those conditions. Any suggestions?
Solved, a bit: this is the "Enable Advanced Networking" found in USB activesync mode... but it is buggy anyway for most of the users
My phone is an Xperia X1 and I have Exchange ActiveSync setup. I can get the syncronization over wlan both in my office and over other wlans. I would like to know if there's any way to "force" the ActiveSync to happen over wlan before trying the data connection. This way when I'm covered by a wlan that I'm connected to, the sync would be cheaper
Basicly I'm after some process that when i want to synchronize it checks the wlan first and only then connects to the celular porovider. Does it make any sense? All this because I miss the autosync that my old Nokia made everytime it was in reach with my PC. What I'm trying to achive is the best workaround for this missing feature in Windows Mobile. Or is there a new option that I don't know ?
Thanks for any support

Hi there,
If your data is not connected, it will obviosuly try to sync via wifi first right? In theroy if both are connected wifi should be prefered afaik.
There is a good guide for getting ur device to auto connect to ur PC via bluetooth to auto sync via active sync, (see the guides section in my sig below, guide by my good friend Nir36)
Cheers.
Computer OS: XP SP3
Device: HTC TP2
Device OS: WM 6.1
Activesync: 4.5
I have my device connecting and syncing fine to ActiveSync on the computer via Bluetooth, but I would like a quicker way to establish connection. When I get out of Bluetooth range and then re-enter there is no auto-reconnect, so I must go to Settings > Communications > Bluetooth, then under the computer's name click on ActiveSync every time. This gets the job done, but it's too much rigmarole every time I want to establish a connection and synchronization.
If I go to the computer and go into ActiveSync and try to connect under Connection Settings it doesn't see the device. Is there a quick, easy way to connect by creating a shortcut or otherwise not requiring so much interaction to get connected and synchronized? When I set-up ActiveSync through Bluetooth I rather expected it to connect and sync automatically when it got in range, but that would've been to easy I suppose.
Yes i'm wondering the same thing. Is there a reg key for editing this? I normally leave Bluetooth on and would like it to auto connect. My old K800 could do it so i don't see why WM6.5.3 can't.
Is this what you are after? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530327
Yes thanks, that's all i'm after. I was having troubling searching for it.
