Active Sync "files" sync directory problem - General Topics

I have an 8125 with WM6 we put on it. Somehow this phone has gotten the idea the default directory for File sync is on a storage card on not the default location with the device memory. So basically when the memory card is out it will not sync and there is no way so far that we can find to change this behavior. If we go into the active sycn setting on the phone and select files then the SETTINGs button goes grey and we can not change. If we try to change from the PC side all that does is let us change the default dir on the PC NOT the phone itself.
Is their some way to get the phone to think its default is back to the "Device" My Documents dir???
Any reg setting I can change. THis is driving me nuts.
ANd yes I have deleted the partnerships and deleted the mobile device active sync settings on BOTH sides and repartnered and it still does this.

File transfer problem

I haven't tried to do this for over a year, but now find active sync will only transfer files one way - from pc to Artemis. If I copy or drag, I get a progress bar but no file at the end of it. Tried deleting the partnership and starting again, but no go. Any ideas?
are u draging to sd card or int memory, assume you have enough storage space for what you are trying to copy/move?
Have you changed ur antivirus/firewall s/w since last time?
Cheers timmy. I think one of the windows updates buggered it. I found that system restore was up the creek also. Fixed that, did a load more updates, uninstalled activesync, then reinstalled. Now works.

Captivate broken screen, need contacts/files off phone!!

I have a Samsung Captivate with a broken screen. I Do Not have auto mount installed, therefore it is impossible to mount the drive because i can not navigate. Has anyone had any luck with any programs forcing the phone to auto mount the drive; or has anyone had luck retrieving contacts/files off the phone with a broken screen? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
use adb to pull your contacts & data files... hope you had usb debugging turned on.... might work in recovery.. never tried.
next time have your contacts save and sync to google. then you can just login to gmail to see/get use your contacts.
important files should be saved to external sd card whenever possible for this reason too.

Android File Transfer not working

As stated in the heading, device not found on Mac?
you have to swipe the notification bar down and then there is at the very low end an option to switch from "just charging" to "use MTP".....you also can activate MTP in the Developer Settings, which was a regular option under KitKat und Lollipop.
The thing is, I at least have to perform this step everytime I connect the phone to my PCs, it's so annoying, I still can't believe nobody actually is upset about it, there are no threads about this issue except for the one I made.
When I connected the phone to the PC it also refuses to copy data to the phone, not all the time, but especially when there are subfolders in a folder you want to copy. Forces you to create a dummy folder, copy your stuff there and then use a file explorer on the phone to move the data to the correct location.
Also, a lot of folders on the SD card won't show, like Titanium Backup and others.
Made me roll back to Lollipop.
Awesome thanks for the help mate!
