"The problem is that sometimes we are already listening to audio in the device's speakers, and then suddenly we want to switch the output to our a2dp headsets - this is sometimes problematic, as the First audio driver changes from "Audio Output" to "Bluetooth Adv. Audio Output" and the applications currently playing audio need to be restarted.
For such issues, I have provided a tool, as freeware, that will install as a today plugin and offer the user the possibility of instantly switching the audio between Device Speaker and A2DP Stereo Headset.
It is designed for WM6.0, Microsoft Bluetooth stack, please download it and let me know how it works for you. There are some more modifications that will be done, so this is only Beta-1 "

A2DPToggle RC-2
Thanks hendrixus,
I've just uploaded version 1.0.rc-1 of the A2DP plugin. It can be downloaded and used as freeware (0 cost) from http://teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware , or find it below attached to this message, including a short usage guide.
New in this release (as many users requested):
-bluetooth link signal indicator (it actually shows the signal strength of the device-headset connection)
-3 modes for headset: OK, Off, Err
-settings panel added
-Handle Bluetooth option
-Execute File after start option
-applet added in start->settings->system to start settings
-a2dp.exe included in the package, that with parameters: a2dp.exe -bluetooth: on|off -a2dp: on|off or a2dp.exe -bluetooth:1|0 -a2dp:1|0
thank you too, radhoo for keeping us updated
@ radhoo:
The play button doesn't work on my MIO A700. I have checked the "Handle Bluetooth" option and when I press the play button a message appairs and says: "First pair blabla ... "
Do you have a solution for me??
Thanks ...
Thank you for this

You first have to pair the headset before you can play anything. That's why the play button isn't working.

There was a little problem in identifying an A2DP device among other BT devices.
The previous post is updated with the new RC-2 version. Please re-download the CABs and reinstall this new version.
Those of you who had problems before will have them fixed with this release.
EDIT: it's too hard to upload new versions in each post, download the CABs from here:
http://teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware
Radhoo, thanks again for the update.
Need to start BT manually before pushing Start/Play
@radhoo,
Thanks for this tool, been using it since you released previous version here, works great and saves having to go into Bluetooth>Settings>Devices (although I use a shortcut) every time to connect A2DP properly.
v1.0 RC-2 is cool, now I don't have to start up the player after connecting my headphones but the Handle Bluetooth Automatically option doesn't appear to be working how it is mean to.
After installing RC-2 I re-paired the headphones but when BT is turned off the A2DP device shows Off. This means pushing Start/Play only turns on BT and have to push Start/Play again to connect the device. Is this how it is meant to work?
I would have thought once the device is paired and in the BT>Settings>Devices list the A2DP status would remain On.
Keep up the good work, be cool to be able to turn on BT, pair device and start palyer with one touch!
However my Artemis needs to find to it a A2DP DEVICEs can, like that it somewhat longer would be beautiful to examine either whether A2DP was successful, or however a WAIT COMMAND with x seconds to insert.
Thx
Menkul
The teksoft website appears to have been replaced (hijacked?), none of the links are working.
I'm really keen to test out this app as I've been looking everywhere for just this, is there any chance someone could post up the .cab file? The zip file posted by radhoo only include a PDF instruction file, not the actual app itself.
Much appreciated

Thanks for that but it's not really what I'm after. That product offers routing for the system audio to mono bluetooth headsets that don't support a2dp.
My phone and headset support stereo a2dp, and I've got the audio working well so I can listen to music from my bluetooth headset. All I was after was a small program (a2dp toggle) that gives me a shortcut on the today screen so i can easily switch a2dp onto wireless stereo, without going through the menu system everytime I connect.
A2DP Toggle appeared to do exactly that, but now I just can't find it anywhere as the links to teksoftco.com aren't working.

Thanks very much mate, that's fantastic, just what I was looking for.
this plugin is killing my battery. i only used it for testing when i originally installed it and i never kept the plugin on my today screen. last night i was playing with it and decide to leave the plugin on the today screen. i woke up today and 50% of my battery was drained. i simply charged it up again tested it and noticed 6% drain in 1hr. disabled the plugin and after 1 hr i was still at 100%. i did this twice with the same results. its a shame cause it works flawlessly.
I have also problems with battery drain but only about 1% per hour in suspend. What seems to help is to turn bluetooth off and on. Anyway that would kill the purpose of this great app: to simplify using bluetooth.
I'm also having a battery drain problem on my Tytn-II
I also noticed something else that is perhaps a bug. I have two bluetooth devices that support the A2DP Wireless Stereo service. When I use A2DPConnect, it does properly connect to my headphones and stream audio however on the today screen plug-in it shows that there is no signal and that the stereo headphones are off. I wonder if this is related to the fact that I have two A2DP devices paired with my Tytn-II?

Guys,
I'm sure we're all reading numerous posts by members who have managed to record two way conversations on varieties of hardware using various apps and by rubbing garlic on their dog's testicles during a full moon.
If you have successfully recorded a two way conversation (ie your voice, and the other person's voice), please indicate on the poll, or more importantly, indicate which phone you were using, with which software.
I would say that being able to record because you have a particularly loud speaker is NOT a positive result. But if you think it works very well, it would help to know what tricks you pulled to achieve this.
So having both participants on speakerphone, or just talking particularly loudly and the microphone is picking up overflow sound is NOT a positive result. But if you think it counts and is very clear, please indicate.
I hope this is for everyone's benefit :wink:
EDIT: please read this article from PocketPCMag for info on the various software available.
V
So haveing the other side over a BT handsfree (Supertooth) and thus recording both me and my partner in conversation does count
jpiek: Aaah, you got through the small print. You win the prize! Drinks on you
No: But I'd be interested to know if anyone's successfully recorded both sides on a non speakerphone headset. If you're using any bluetooth option, please specify any special stack and hardware.
V
Sorry, can't help you here...
Some brainspatters overhere:
Why is audio allways such a problem ? If an option works for the PPC part, it doesn't for the Phone and vice versa (Tomtom over BT IE)...
I'm getting the impression we really bought a Phone + PPC in one.... In One case that is, NOT in one design , let alone integrated...
Exactly. The implementation of the phone part is not particularly well integrated into the PDA OS AFAIK. But this is both a hardware and software limitation I think. But since some people seem to suggest that it certainly does work, I'd like a definitive idea of who it does work for, and if so, how... Frankly it's not something that I'm interested in, but I'd just like an answer!
V
You may also want to read http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=513&more=1 on this subject - it gives a nice overview of what you can expect from PPC PE devices and what applications there're to (even automatically) record phone calls.
THANKS FROM ACHILLE
I have to thank you all for this explanation. Very usefull. Thanx again.

Don't really know which is the problem here, at least for me. I have downloaded PMRecorder - free -, installed, recorded a conversarion and works perfectly. try:
http://1800message.com/default.aspx
Well, I'd like to add something. Maybe it works because I used speaker ON. I don't know.
I'll try again.
works for me
I have a O2 xda mini s and i am using a software called vito audio notes...it records both my voice and the other persons clearly...
PMRecorder works pretty well on a Qtek8500 (startrek).
vbi: that's interesting, I wonder if the Smartphones have a different audio path implementation. You can hear both sides clearly, not just because loudspeaker/receiver speaker can be picked up by the microphone?
V
O2 XDA smartphone (a Tornado w/o WiFi) with i-mate sp5m firmware. Conversations are perfectly recorded with PMRecorder; both my and opponent's voices are loud and clear.
I have attached a sample - russian-speaking people - me and colleague
I try PMrecorder with a Motorola Q and the program record,
I view the size of the file .rcwv but when I play the file, via PMrecorder, I ear nothing.
Some one have a solution ?
And how I can transfert the file via Activesync and change the file to .wav ?

ATTACHED CALL RECORDER
I have posted the File.
Installed on My O2 Mini S without any hassle.
But the same Problem (hardware wont support)
Records My voice but Not the voice of the Called/calling party.
In speakerphone mode though It might record But Faintly.
jeasbe: as much as I would like to be greatful for you contribution, Menneisyys, the author of the article that you liberally cut and pasted, already points to his article above (and I link to it in the first post I wrote), in a great, definitive article.
It seems that PMRecorder didn't work for you anyway. Anyone got any new, positive news on this issue?

I don't understand something. I could understand the point about the incoming sound stream not being routed through the pc part of the phone if it was only being output through the speaker or the headset.
However it's also capable of being output through a bluetooth connection. Doesn't this make it possible in some way to create software that can get hold of it (in the same way as the bluetooth software can) and stick it in a file alongside the outgoing sound stream?
Please excuse me if I'm being a simpleton.
BaldBoy: there are many threads on this issue, and this is one of the ideas that has been discussed. However, Mamaich has indicated that the audio path for the bluetooth path is again separate from the PDA path; thus it may be possible to catch the audio stream by simulating a bluetooth transmitter and receiver in the same device. However, I don't think any of us has tried it to date.

I guess it does, same connector. Give it a try.
Is working perfectly with tf3d and fm receiver
Can you use your own headphones with this?
http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=150195
if you check the description and a user comment says you can 3.5 mm
Yes you can!
Key Features
- The E100 includes 3.5mm stereo earphones or use your own!
Nice to know that this is working, can anyone post some real pics, so I can get an impression of the real size and colour!
who can i buy the RC E100 (will this be sold separately as an accessory)?!
Yes you can, check HTC homepage or use google.
Can anyone try if this works with the diamond as well? Especially the buttons on the control device.
Tested and approved.
I bought it for my Trinity and now it works perfectly for my diamond.
Works as an antenna for the FM. All controls working nativly with the new TouchFlo3D.
perfectly, thank you for your confirmation!

I read somewhere in the net, that you might have problems with some of the HTC devices. Can you please confirm, that:
a) with this remote attached, the screen turns off (save battery time)
- I read, this is not the case
b) the screen will always turn on as soon you press any key (even in you pocket)
c) works perfectly with the Diamond
Thanks in advance
RC E100 plugged without any driver or software added - screen turned off
- by pressing Play, it plays the music and the screen stays turned off
- by pressing next-previous, it changes the song and the screen stays turned off
- by controlling the volume (buttons at the bottom) it changes Volume and the screen stays turned off
the only buttons that turns on the screen are the one for phone calls.
Tested right now with my Diamond
How about the sound quality, is it better than the ones that come in the box?
I had a P1i before, and I planning to buy the RC E100 and use the intra speakers from the hpm-75:
Has anyone tried the same? Do you think I'll get the same sound quality as my SE phone, which was much better?
I plugged a basic Sony headset. I didn't try yet the one in the box.
Peio64 ? With a name like that, you are from Euskadi ?
(edited sry double post)
Haha yes, I probably have the only diamond in the region
So you use your sony headset with an adaptor, can you compare with the crappy htc one?
Other question: I found the volume really too loud, I usually listen to music at work, and even with 1 volume bar (hard to set with the finger by the way), I think it's too strong. Does the minimal volume change with other handsets?

Can you please concretize what you mean by "crappy htc"? I have a SE and the same headset as Peio64. And. I am quite happy with it. Is the htc worse?
When I say "crappy" I mean
- no bass
- bad "isolation" (everyone around can hear what you're listening)
It's about the headset that comes in the box, don't know about the RC E100, anyway I will use the RCE100 remote with the HPM-75 intras, the lenght of the wire will be perfect
Has anyone has tried the RC E100 with a hermes?
What other devices (besides the Tytyn II and Diamond) can confirm?
Does anyone know the difference between the two (RC E100 and RC W100)?
I tried the RC W100 with my hermes ( with a few different ROMs) with no luck...
Is it true you can only control audio manager and WMP?
Can anyone look over the "driver cab" to see if other players might be possible?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Guys,
Can someone, anyone, please confirm the difference between using the supplied headphones that come with the HRC diamond which are
a) bass-less (and I already know about the Audio booster bug - I mean they still dont have much bass when you have worked around that bug)
b) not isolated well (as pointed out above)
and compare with using a decent set of 3.5mm headphones that are connected with the RC E100 or with one of those USB to 3.5mm adapters that you can get from ebay.
Does better headphones = lots more bass? The supplied headphones just don't seem to push out much but I wonder how much of a role the actual diamond plays in this....
Thanks in advance to anyone who can confirm this.

GSPlayer is a well-known, excellent, free (!!!!), constantly updated audio player application I’ve very frequently elaborated on (search my blog for my related articles).
Unfortunately, it, as of version 2.29, still doesn’t support AVRCP (the remote control protocol of Bluetooth), which makes it useless for many Windows Mobile fans. No problem: XDA-Devs forum member Wolfman-XP has come up with a decent solution compatible with the Microsoft BT stack (but not with the Widcomm one - that is, HP iPAQ users are left out in the cold).
It allows for making GSPlayer controllable via your wireless Bluetooth headphones’ buttons. In addition, it has some tricks up its sleeve: it even allows for implementing extra functionality like fast forwarding / rewinding (10 secs a time) with supporting double-presses of the two directional buttons. With the play/stop button, it even allows for three button presses. In this regard, it’s way superior to the AVRCP support of most? all? current, natively AVRCP-capable Windows Mobile multimedia apps (see their list HERE; note that the since-released CorePlayer, Slide2Play - see review HERE -, and Pocket Tunes all support AVRCP; albeit the second two “only” on the MS BT stack.)
Installing, using
First, download it from the first post of the original thread. Extract AVRCP.exe and put it somewhere (if you want it to be auto-started after resets / reboots, in \Windows\Startup). Click it twice (!); you’ll see the bottom softkey bar change to “OK” and “Settings”. Press the latter. (But never press the former, OK, because it causes the program to be terminated, necessitating starting it again.)
Now, go to Settings (right softkey) / Settings and fill in the fields in the following way:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

The upper two parameters (giving the path to the GSPlayer executable to “Path to application” and “GSPlayer” in “WindowName”) will always be like so. (Except when you have another path to GSPlayer because it’s on, say, a storage card or yours is a non-English device.)
The contents of the other parameters are pretty easy to decode. For example, “40027” in “Play single click” instructs the converter to translate all single Play / Pause button presses to the play/pause even. Similarly, “40075” in the “Forward double click” tells the system to pass a Fast Forward event (“40075”) to GSPlayer whenever you quickly press the forward button twice.
The available codes are as follows:
play/pause 40027
PREV 40037
NEXT 40038
FastFF 40075
FastBack 40074
OpenFile Dialog 40018
Switch Display 100
Note that as these settings are stored in the Registry, you can easily back up / restore / migrate it to another device. To make your life easier, I’ve created a registry export and made it available HERE. If the above settings are OK with you, you can safely skip the manual set-up by just importing the file with a Registry Editor 5.00-compliant registry explorer like that of SOTI Pocket Controller any time. After the next AVRCP.exe restart, the new changes will be seen.
Note that there also exists a configuration for older, pre-1.2 versions of CorePlayer. As the 1.2+ versions already support AVRCP, you won’t need to rely on it. Finally, the developer of the hack has tried implementing support for TCPMP, which, as can clearly be seen HERE, was only AVRCP-compliant with WM2003SE + A2DP upgrade and nothing else. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a solution for TCPMP.
Note that AVRCP.exe runs in the background. Don’t be afraid of this: it only consumes 100 kbytes of RAM and 0% CPU time (my benchmarks). The latter only increases to about 0.1% when you do press a button on your stereo headphones.
I've tested it on the HTC Universal, the Dell Axim x51v (both running WM6.1) and the iPAQ 210. The first two worked flawlessly. The latter is based on the Widcomm BT stack and, therefore, is incompatible.
Finally, note that the utility can be used with any app, game or emulator utilizing WM_COMMAND commands. It’s just that you need to ask the developer to tell you what these are and/or consult the source code, if available. This way, you can even increase the number of hardware buttons on your handset.

Funny - with my 590A, it works with me... thanks for the tip, however - I change the tutorial.
If the Values are "unrealistic" (>20000) i assume default values of 500/1000.
AND:
you can even deliver a path to an app instead of an integer code. In this case the Agent starts bzw. switches to the app!

Help with Elf
Menneisyys,
Thanks for writing up the how-to. I've followed it to the letter but can't get it working on my Elf. Any idea what could be wrong? I'm using one of the UCE roms here:

Even after a hard reset with nothing else but GSPlayer and the AVRCP executable, it doesn't work with my paired bluetooth headphones.

I know its been a long time but is there anything like this for PC? It would be handy if we just could customize the AVRCP commands to any application! I know it has to do with the stack someone uses but I could not find any customization at all...
I use Blusoleil with Media Player Classic and I would prefer it if the "Previous/Next" buttons could be assigned like "Jump at -/+ 10 seconds".
I have tried all the available players like, core, pocket, kinoma, nitrogen. None of these work with AVRCP and even tried the agent, no luck. Final try is this player, let me check and rever bac.
I had no problem pairing my Jawbone Prime bluetooth headset with my old Nokia 5800. All the functions worked perfectly.
Since I moved to HTC Sensation 4G, I noticed these problems:
1. Every time I disconnect & reconnect the BT, the volume goes to minimum. It doesn't keep the previous volume setting.
2. When I play a music/video, the sound goes through phone speaker right away. I couldn't find the setting to make it goes to my BT instead.
3. The voice dial feature from BT is no longer available. Is it because now they use Google voice search? This is inconvenient because before I can activate voice dial just by holding my Jawbone's volume button. Now I have to get my phone and unlock screen, input security code, press voice search..etc.
Is anyone having similar problems or other problems?
If yes, is there a way to fix these?
Thank you,

I have a Jawbone 2 so it's not quite the same I guess but I'll try to answer some of it...
1) I don't have this problem. keeps my volume setting.
2) same issue. I also have this problem with turn by turn navigation. it goes to my speaker on the phone even though I have the bluetooth setup.
I've read other people with different headsets working fine, though in nav, it cuts off first part of the direction... so I guess it's a blessing in disguise?
anyway, I'm beginning to think it's a Jawbone issue?
3) there is a work around this...
http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/HTC-SENSATION-4G/Bluetooh-Voice-Dialing-FIX/m-p/894213#M4273
only thing is you need to find the apk for choice dialer as it's not available for our phone on the market...
kind of a pain but it works.
anyway, hope that helps you out a little.

As the issue no.1, finally I got it fixed by disconnecting the Jawbone (unpair from phone) and pair it back. Apparently that solve the volume issue.
For No.2, I called Jawbone and they don't know what to do either. I'm going to try another BT from Jabra and see if the problem persist. If not that means something is wrong with Jawbone.
Thanks for the info for issue no.3
Yes, it seems I need to find out where that apk for Choice Dialer. It's not in android market yet.

I had no problem pairing my Jawbone Prime bluetooth headset with my old Nokia 5800. All the functions worked perfectly.
2. When I play a music/video, the sound goes through phone speaker right away. I couldn't find the setting to make it goes to my BT instead.
Thank you,

I just checked the specs of the jawbone prime at jawbones website. You need to have A2DP ( Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) feature on your earpiece in order to listen to music/tv/gps navigation (anything other than phone calls), and the prime does not have that feature. If you were getting media through your nokia wiith the prime then consider yourself lucky lol, you shouldn't have been able to. Just make sure your next BT has A2DP and you're all set. They do make apps that will send media through youre BT but the sound quality is pretty poor IMO. Search Bluetooth in the market if you want to try one.

I just installed Car launcher because layout looked pretty good.
However, I ran into a issue.
I use A2DP often to listen music on my phone. So, I placed A2DP icon in home screen.
However, with car launcher, it just opens Bluetooth phone instead of A2DP. A2DP opens fine in app drawer and even shows icon with bluetooth headphone. However, when I place this icon in home screen, the icon changes to regular bluetooth icon, while the name stays A2DP.
I believe this is due to the fact A2DP and bluetooth actually is a same app with different options.
Anyone know how to get this working?

Bump.
I am also looking for a answer on how to resolve this.
Any help would be appreciated
Launcher: Google play link
Can't seem to locate the A2DP apk
Firmware: MTCD_GS_V1.93_1
I have the same issue with the launcher, I already sent an email to the developer.
[email protected] https://plus.google.com/100724277291367457813 no answer yet.
Maybe you can try to email him too.
Also have this issue. I found a work around though...
Using tasker, I made the Ad2p app launch whenever I launch the "Bluetooth" app. It works well by just opening the correct app after the bluetooth app opens.
Of course you loose access to the Bluetooth app.

I have the same issue using Car Launcher Pro. I like listening audiobooks. I do it at work, than continue in the car on the way home. All symptoms are exactly as yours. I was going to contact the author and then saw this tread.
What if each of us contacted the author and explained the issue?
Also, what if we rate the app with one star down for this issue and explain why we gave less stars publicly? I've just done it.
i think this happens with any ROM other than the default Joying ROM, like if you use Nova i think it goes away as well, at least on the Intel units

well this thread says there is a workaround:

Good news, it works,I used Smart Launcher Pro for these pics, but the same works for Nova, I tried it on both
Smart Launcher Pro is a little different, you have to "add an icon" to add an app to the homepage
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Choose shortcut
At this point it is roughly the same as picking a widget in Nova, choose Activities
Then look for Bluetooth
Then you can expand it and pick Bluetooth Music
And you can see it appears on the homepage and will open the Bluetooth Music app
Hello,
The guide does not work. The point Activities is missing.Is there another solution maybe?
Greetings Martin

1. Install Tasker and Tasker App Factory on your Android Head Unit.
https://www.xda-developers.com/tasker-v4-9-is-out-with-non-root-programmable-firewall-multi-window-automation-s-pen-recognition-and-more/
2. Open Tasker and in the "Tasks"-section open a new task by clicking the plus sign. Give it a name.
3. In the next window click on plus sign again and choose "App" as action category. Then choose "Launch App" as your action. In "App Selection" choose your A2DP app.
4. Hit the back button to get to the "Task Edit" window. Click on the square at the bottom and choose an icon. Then hit the back button again.
5. You should be back in the main window an see your task. Long press it and click on the three dots in the upper right corner. Choose "Export" and in the next dialogue "As App". Let it export and Auto-Install.
6. Now you can use your new app for A2DP in any launcher.
Optional: If you want you can uninstall Tasker again. It isn't necceserily needed anymore.
Let me know if it works for you and have a great time
