is there a stable wm6 rom??? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

is there a stable wm6 rom that features wifi and bluetooth support???
because all the roms iv'e tried recently lacked the support of either bluetooth or wifi or both...
the only stable rom i tried was the crossbow one but that did not offer the toutch apps or anything..and became highly unstable after installing all the cabs i needed like the home plug and touch flow cube
so is there any rom or kitchen out there that does support these features???
my wizard is a g3
and is unlocked

curious...which ROMs have you tried recently that lacked support for bluetooth or wifi.....i thought that was pretty standard in every ROM....

ive tried nbd 8.1,8.2,8.3,9.0,9.1 the 8 series were better than the 9 series because the 8 series sometimes worked fine
tried wizard retouched rom no bt giving the error after searching for devices
tried blackdiamond 2.0 no wifi and sometimes bt but most times errrors
just flashed to xda wm6 v3 so im trying this one out for a few days...

mfrazz's ROM's have always been incredibly stable for me. I've tried numerous others, such as NBD 8.3, 9.0, BlackDiamond 2.0, and have had issues with all of those. XM6 on the other hand has been nothing but stable or me.

hmmm...you should probably try whiterats or theloon custom roms or build your own with one of the many kitchens out there. i have been between the two on my wizards for awhile now and i have yet to experience issues with BT or WiFi

I can look at releasing the OEM / SYS / ROM folders for XM6r3 if people want that. As for the kitchen itself (the tools) I use HyperCore (so you just put the OEM / SYS / ROM folders in the Build area). You should be able to drop these folders into any Kitchen (with slight modifications, like the name of the .nb file in the ROM folder as various kitchens want it named various ways, but you just rename it).
You can do similar by just using HyperCore to dump the nk.nbf and then packagetool it. I just tried that myself on the XM6r3 full and it appears to ahve pulled apart. Only thing is that most of my OEM entries are in the SYS folder for some reason after it finished.

stable rom
i´m testing octaivoi 4.5 and dont fail, this looks so stable works bt, wifi, cam, dont freeze and works with 3th part apps

i have flashed bd 3.0 and it works great wir bluetoothwacht and its a great rom too

The best rom without doubt I have tried TNT 5 HTC PROFESSIONAL http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328917

i think u should try several roms to figure out which one is best suitable for ur equiment

the easiest kitchen in my opinion is farias the rom is also very stable

stable rom

is it really worth it?

Hi all,
Ive just got myself a tmobile wizard. ive been looking all through the wm6 pages and was just wondering is it worth me updating my wm5 to wm6. im sure all the new users would like to know this (is there speed improvements etc) and is there a rom that is stable and 99% working? as ive had alot of problems in the past when updating my blueangel to wm5
apologies if these are stupid questions
IMO, there's not enough extra in WM6 to justify the little problems it has. I'd suggest a stable WM5 like Farias 3.3
farias 3.3 is awsome , all of the wm6 roms have issues but i am using the clean wm6 from faria thats in the rom kitchen and it seems just as stable as the wm5 3.3

I would 2nd that!!! Now that we have the Ir button working 100%, i dont think there is other problems
So far so good here....
I know it's kinda aging now but I have been running NotTooSmart's Vanilla Rom for a while now and I have no issues whatsoever. I use my device constantly all day every day and though there was some trick to getting it to work just how I wanted I was comfortable enough to put the same ROM on my wife's Wizard as well (If you only knew how big of a step this was.... god forbid something goes wrong there I will never hear the end of it) .
Overall, here is the list of things that I do with rom if you are contemplating using it yourself and want to know if it will work for you.
Exchange activesync (heavy use)
Pocket IE
AIM 2.0 for PPC (osed once or twice)
Watching movies with TCPMP
( SEE TCPMP NOTES BELOW )
I use WMP as my only MP3 player with a couple of SD cards
WIFI works fine
Bluetooth headset with my HT850 works fine
Phone works okay. I mean, nothing is perfect and I do miss a call on occasion but so far it's acceptable. I have found, despite my previous posts, that 2.19 UK actually is more reliable. 2.25 US is better for data in my area but 2.19 UK causes me to miss a lot less calls.
I use internet radio via TCPMP at the gym every day reliably.
Sirius Sat Radio via SiriusWM5 works great although on occasion I do get the odd program error - NOTE: happens in WM5 too.
I DO NOT OVERCLOCK AT ALL as I really have no need for it.
Ewallet latest release works great
Listpro works great
I use a whole bunch of networking apps (tracert, pocket ping, etc...) from way back in the WM2003 days that still work just fine on WM6.
Terminal services works (though most people will not use this).
TCPMP NOTE: In order to do internet radio and most video you will need to DL and install the WMV9 codecs. This is a known issue and can be found by searching through back posts here in the WM6 forum.
Overall, I say yeah, it's worth it. It's more of an evolutionary upgrade than anything but it's a "nice to have". Plus, HTML email is real nice if you have EXCH 2007.
ok thanks all for the help!
i think i will give it a go, can anyone give me a direct link to the faria 3.3 rom (i cant seem to find it)

If you are wanting to give WM6 a go, then the Faria 3.3 rom is not the correct one. That is a WM5 rom.
The Faria Clean / Vanilla is the WM6 one. You have to download the entire ROM Kitchen, but there is a flash rom directory that has a default rom already built (or you can go through the build process to add and remove the stuff you want / don't want.
The link for the Faria WM6 is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303406 (same as given above, but that is NOT the AKU 3.3 Faria ROM)
If you really want Faria AKU 3.3 (again, its a stable WM5 ROM) then its here:

And then use this link to step you through flashing...

sometimes you can get around the 90 minute wait by just putting http://anonym.to/? infront of the URL. Doesn't always work but its worth a try.

I know I'm coming in late to the thread, but I think in general I would be a bit more cautious. The leap from a stock rom to a (necessarily) custom WM6 rom, and then to a rom kitchen is better taken in baby steps in my opinion. In my own view, objectively I don't see any difference in my day to day usage of my wizard from when I was running WM5. In fact, I think because I've become obsessed with tinkering with it, I spend more time trying out different odds and ends, tweaking and breaking and fixing things than I do using it!
If you are primarily interested in USING you Wizard, I would start with a small step to say the Faria 3.3 WM5 rom. Learn to unlock, and flash, load your programs again, etc. Then once that's digested move up to WM6 if you really feel the itch, then try a rom kitchen as a final step.
Whatever you do, Keep it Fun!
Very good points, but unfortunately, Faria did not release his "Vanilla" as a seperate ROM but instead with the entire kitchen (which I agree could be dangerous for someone new). My point was you can use that Vanilla rom by downloading the entire kitchen, but just going to the falshrom directory and flashing what came with it as the default (I understand its basically what we were running in beta which is a very nice ROM). It is a very good WM6 rom with no "cooking" required.
I've thought about making a couple of these Faria Vanilla's up and posting them (with Faria's permission) for those that only want the rom and not the entire kitchen (or the temptation that comes with it).
i used to tinker my blueangel so much, but the wm5 roms just didnt work right. with this rom from the kitchen is it just a 'stock' one? will it just have the programs my tmobile rom has? as im happy with my tmobile rom but i just want to have wm6. i dont need all the tweaking tools as long as it works

No, its a "Vanilla" or "Clean" rom (ie: pretty much stripped down to the core). So you then add back to it just what you want.
If you want a full featured WM6, then look at Faria's "the real thing" but there are issues with that one so you have to dig through the huge thread for fixes (so I don't recommend it). If you want something that feels like a "stock" rom, then do the Faria AKU 3.3 (again, its WM5, but its better than the stock ones IMO).
I like the Vanilla roms though as you just put on it what you want. But not everyone likes that.
ive unlocked and my pda is ready for wm6. what file do i run from the kitchen folder to start the update?

I think that's a great idea. Even if you put in all his currently available options, it is still more of a vanilla rom. Maybe with and without Voice Command, as that seems to be a make or break issue for folks. But serve it up the way you like it!

Best Rom For HTC Wizard?

I know many of you may think this is based on opinion, but personally I'm new at the scene and just tried Faria's WWE WM6 ROM (the real thing) featured at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297762 .
My original reason for installing was cause my 8125's OS started lagging lately for some reason (it would take a few seconds for menus and items to show up instead of being instant). In addition, battery life was HORRIBLE (would die in around 2 days). So I went and downloaded Faria's WWE WM6 ROM (the real thing). Installation was easy, the ROM worked great, my battery life greatly improved (even though I overclocked to 247 with cpuscaling at 143).
Unfortunately, I messed around too much and accidentally killed my phone application , not to mention the OS has started to lag (probably because I installed too many things?).
Either way, I'm looking to download a new ROM. I want something that has all the features of Faria's HTC Wizard Rom (the real thing), and more. I don't care too much about extra space, because frankly I don't need it. I just want something that's fast and feature-packed (and includes everything from Faria's ROM). Any tips or suggestions? Help would really be appreciated, as I've just gone through 3 ROMS that I didn't like. Thanks.

I have tried many different ROM's, I keep going back to this one. It's the most stable for me.
Core 2.0n
For me, the best WM6 rom is the Core 2.0n (based on XPlore 1.0)
Thephone is very fast (boot in 35 seconds), no bugs, working well with TomTom6.
I'm only waiting a full French WM6 rom
for months of WM6.0 use; Faria is the best for stable.
im testing Pandora 1.05 right now.
From all of the ROMs that I have used. I think Faria is the best one. it's very stable.
pfff i think its best for me:
base version of Pandora:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307080
and core 2.0 of coz.
Faria's overloaded imo.
i like reloaded
Faria The Real Thing is most stable for me
soft reset everyday, to remove the slow down due to any memory leaks
and I'm gonna buck the trend here, wm6 is SLOW. use a 2.26 if you want a quick one
two day battery life sounds good some people think one day is good others, several days (but it depends how much you use it).

5.2.1413 fast
Hi,
i have been using Xplore 2.0n and it is great.
Its near Full Vanilla, but it supports AD2P and most of the basics.
The new 5.2.1413 build is FAAASSTTT, and there are FULL VANILLA releases, nevertheless, i was unable to set AD2P.
If there is a fix for ad2p, i will surely switch to 5.2.1413 because it is way way faster than Xplore 2.0n

The ROM Kitchen is the newer version of Faria's rom, and its vanilla, but you can add stuff into it. My Crossbow Reloaded (link below) is a cooked version of this rom with stuff added to it and a few fixes I put into it.

Whose ROM are you using and why?

SORRY I LEFT OUT Q-MOBILE! If you're using it or another unlisted custom ROM, just choose "other" and then post below to specify which ROM you're using.
In fact, even if you choose a specific "chef," please specify WHICH version/variation you're using and WHY.
I'm currently on Dutty #6 - tried #7, but I didn't find it quite as good. Waiting for 8! I might try other people's ROMs at some point, but that's partly why I asked this question - I want to know whose ROMs are most popular and why. Fast? Stable? Clean? Useful?
Dutty's Rom
I am using Dutty's Tilt Rom...uh on my tilt. It seems very stable and I have a bunch of apps running. It's been about 2 weeks and so far so good.
The only problem with loading one of dutty's rom's is that he never sleeps so you get addicted to flashing your Kaiser.: eek:

I've got to agree with you... I'm addicted now. But which version are you using?
I'm using Dutty's latest No. 7. For me, his ROMs have been very stable and fast.
XDA Live v1.2. I like the design goal of maximizing storage space and only installing what I want. It's almost like cooking my own rom, but much easier.
I'm using Dutty's No. 6 Lite HTC ROM.
I always want to have a clean, fast and stable ROM. I was running CUSTEL v2.1 first, but decided to turn to Dutty's ROMs because he has LOTS of updates! (I like flashing )

Sorry Q!!!
Dutty's ATT touchflow ROM.
Full featured, has many of the extras already built in, minus that AT&T bloat crap. It runs very well for me.

No problem, besides...having just posted it last night the adoption rate would take a while anyway--and thats assuming people like it.
Was using Dutty's Tilt-Touchflo Beta but I ran into some issues and now I'm trying out Q's. Looks good so far, fast, stable.
XDA-Live 1.2 for me. It's very stable, everything works like it's supposed to, and I like how streamlined and fast it is. I wanted an ATT Tilt specific ROM, and of those choices, this one works the smoothest. I like to be able to customize what apps are on there too.

Agreed. This is my current cooked ROM of choice after using 5 superb ROMS. Check it out. Simple, lightweight, fast and stable (for at least a full day of use)
Hat's off to all the chefs!
Currently using Dutty Touchflo 2 final non tilt edition on my tilt..... its the best for me till now... gave the no. 6 touchflo rom a try, but it was severely crippling my Tilt with random occasional freezing.... I am very happy with Touchflo 2.... its uber-fast and I simply love its freaky-fast responsiveness.....
i am using Helmi_C since day one, tried different ROM but i ended up going back, it's old, but it's quick, fast and big storage! most of all, it's quite stable and no problem whatsoever!

I should have agreed with you a few weeks ago. Helmi_c had a very nice and stable ROM for a long time.
I've used Dutty's ROMs and CUSTEL ROMS but I still think Helmi_C had the best ROM for a long time.
Today I flashed Q-Mobile 1.0 ROM and I gives me the "Helmi_C" feeling!
It's clean, fast and seems to be stable! I think I'll stick with this one. (At least for a couple of days )
XDA Live 1.2
So far so good with this ROM. I didn't want to screw around with a non-at&t variant because I'm a noob. I loaded some SPB software and iGO for GPS and it's running great. There's loads of storage available since the ROM is smaller.
As far as stability goes, it works well enough when I reset every couple of days. Sometimes there are random freezes when it is unresponsive but these have gone down a bit since I figured out installing everything to the device works best. I had one SOD a couple nights ago when screwing around with finger-friendly friends but only that once. For now I am just going to use the stock contact supplemented with SPB contacts on Today.
The reason I plan on sticking with this ROM is that I figure Kyphur has a good chance of getting it completely stable easier than a ROM with a bunch of programs. It's already blazing fast and the radio version works well for me so far.
Q-Mobile 1.0 here - I've tried every rom, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Q-Mobile just seems to fit nicely in with what I expect the device to do, and how I think it should look. Fast, stable, no bugs that I've found, and a nice set of default apps.
I hate to reply to this one since it should be up to you to read up on it and try it out. But then again you want instant gratification so here DUTTY's rom no.6 or later. Why? Because no one else has put forth more time and effort into releasing these roms than he has and not to leave out his beta tester community too.
I'm not sure what it is, but I got that weird freezing on every rom I tried out. Right now, I'm using Alex cook your own rom and that is causing freezing, too. Any roms out there that don't have that freezing problem? I think its a normal thing cause the base rom.

Rom Reviews Anyone?

I have searched already and haven't found reviews of the new cooked and stock roms out there that we all use and love. If your flash happy like myself you would love to here unbiased reviews of the roms and I don't mean whats in the exisiting threads for each rom that have complaints, rants, and flaming. If anyone else would like to jump on this please let me know or just start reviewing the roms yourselves and the mods will hopefully start a sticky for reviews. Thanks and to all the great chefs keep up the good work.
dutty's roms are quite nice. They've got the basics. You'll probably need to install a few things for personal needs, but not too much.
For example, I always install HTC's Task manager. But he took it out since some people liked the WKTask (eww).
I've tried a few random others, and some pack in too many apps
**Edit for links** http://duttythroy.lives-in.eu/
->Current thread for V4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361544
I'd like to be able to stick with a ROM for long enough to be able to do a full review
Agreed, Duttys v4 felt nice but I changed to Q-Mobile because I was having problems with bluetooth on the v4 rom.... After playing around with the Q-Mobile rom I don't actually think that the BT problem was caused by duttys rom.
Q-Mobile is nice and clean but I've had problems installing some stuff, again might not be anything to do with the ROM and it may well be the user and or the cabs at fault
What I'd really like is to try out a WM6.1 rom to see if the new network drivers sort out my wifi problem but Im really unsure as to which is the best, hopefully some people will post their thoughts on 6.1 roms in here.

That sounds fast
Roms depends on user needs Some people like fancy stuff. Like duttys one and some others with dual touch, cube etc.... And some people are professional they want fast, effective. I am in love with sleuth rom. I didnt have to install separate radio, separate java bla blah. Everything working out of the box working fine. Some people have issues like skype and core player. But they are problem with all 6.1 version.
I would of LOVED sleuth's wm 6.1 v3.0 if the audiomanager worked There were a few other small things, such as how to disable threaded sms, without killing the notifications (I didn't really like the threaded smsing, but I got enough smses that if I didn't get a notification it would mean lots of missed smses)
I spent the last 10 hours or so flashing different roms onto my phone, I've went back to Q-mobile 1.2 =/
If you don't mind the threaded sms and don't use audiomanager (I installed mortplayer to compensate) I'd suggest Sleuth's 3.0 6.1 rom.
I've tried just about every rom here and I keep going back to Q-Mobile 1.2.
I love dutty's customizations, but I have to agree that Quentin's are the most polished. I have tried almost all of them and have settled on Quentin's Q-Mobile 1.2 for now (with a lot of my own customizations of course).
Just wait a little bit
All I have to tell you guys is wait and see
Current is Sleuth 3.0 WM6.1
I am using an ATT Tilt version in the US, I have tried many of the current roms (to me some were more well done than I like, Some were not stable or under done) I like 3 roms
WM 6.1 - I like Austinsync's rom and Sleuth 3.0
WM 6.0 - I like Q-Mobile 1.2 (Sorry have not tried any others but the Sleuth version is probably good there too)
Cheers
BR
For now, I'm staying away from the 6.1 roms (I have a feeling that "for now" will change to "right now" once dutty's new one is released) but I've been using dutty's V4 since the day it was released and I love it. It's very fast and has everything you need.
...for now.

Haze,
I would say give Dutty a couple of days, or a week at the most, and he will release his newest flavor. The beta testers have worked really hard to get a perfect ROM to the community. You will be pleasantly surprised at the result. One thing you should know. Dutty has been building a WM6.1 ROM without a phone much like Schap's does which is quite amazing.
why do they both do it without phones? Did their phones break or are they using other ones? Anyways I like Q-Mobile 1.2 but I received a lot of error messages I didn't get on other roms. Sleuths is good also but a little too clean for my liking. Downloading Dutty v4 now hopefully this is a winner until his 6.1

Dutty's phone bricked and Schap's has never had a device.
I have 2 devices, 1 with dutty's WM6.1 and the other is Sleuth 3.0's WM6.1. Both are great in their respected fields. I think dutty's is the most organized of the two. Speed wise Sleuth is ahead but thats also due to a larger page file.

What page pool are you rockin' right now. Notice any difference in battery life?
Sleuth 3.0's WM6.1 rocks!
Tried Alex 6.1 but have no luck with no-sound problem.
Switched to Sleuth 3.0 and I stay so far.
Waiting for new version of dutty. I hope secret testing policy will help here (?)
I think it would be awesome if Dutty made a clean version of 6.1 along with his regular version. I hate having all kinds of extra programs that I'm never use.

Sleuth's 6.1 is at 32MB and it's very fast and responsive. No issues with battery life. I'm on the 2nd full decharge right now. 1st run died at about 452 with bluetooth on in a E area. Dutty's default is 24 if i'm not mistaken. dutty's has the best battery life so far. I'll make a better report when i wake up, 2am here and I need to be in the office at 8. Night all

Which ROM could someone please advise?

Hi
Could someone please recommend a ROM for my orange uk kaiser? I'm currently running 1.2 sleuth but has become unstable of late, probably my fault, i know
As i understand it i need a ROM which doesn't affect the radio which is why I chose sleuth originally.
Thanks in advance.
Can't you just chose any ROM of your liking and then flash back to whatever Radio ROM you want to use? As long as the desired Radio is compatible with the chosen ROM of course...

It is in your best interest to decide which ROM you and only you like the best.
As of late, most of the chefs here are attaching radios to their ROM but please do make sure if you change radios they are compatible.
Lately, the most popular are:
Death V2
Leo's
Duttys.
Hope that helps and flash away!
thanks for the info, i have 1.27.14.32 radio but none of the ROMS seem to include this or state their compatability.
heh someone still using wm6.0
upgrade to 6.1 is recommended..
Ones i find useful are Dutty's Hyprid 2 from apr29
His latest is still a test and i had a bit of problems with it
For something fast i would recommend S4V.19701.01 Full
It's super-fast and i might switch back to it when i have time to flash again and when i can be bothered reinstalling everything hehe,
I am using Dutty's April 29 ROM with cube. Have also flashed the 1.65.20.29 radio and have absolutely no problems so far.
Highly recommended... Stable and fast.
I flashed 2 or 3 other ROMs after this but always reverted back within 24 hours.
Sorry for the duplicate post...
hey ive used them all pretty much! Enjoyed Dutty's for a while. But the sheer speed of every aspect of Death V2 has made me stick with that.. Props to the chef!
I like Dutty's April 29 ROM
I like Dutty's April 29 ROM. I am using MioMap and Skype and both works with that rom. Its also very fast I am a business user and check email from exchange and other stuff and this ROM has performed exceptionally well. I upgraded from a 4 month old ROM so I was very surprised.
Give that a try its seems stable to me and has a lot of the bugs fixed. Don't go for the Dutty's test rom I flashed it and went to Dutty's April 29 ROM almost immediately.
I had issues with keyboard, the performance was slow and Miomap and SKype didn't work.
Just my 2 cents.
i recommend dutty's 16 april.
The fastes i ever used. But the 29 april is almost the same.
16 April has quicker acces to menu while 29 April quicker acces has to windows map.
Death V2
Can someone point me to the thread for this ROM please?
Cheers

Generally spoon feeding is shunned upon, but i'll chip in. For the past several months I've been using Q-Mobile. Never had a lag problem, never had a freezing problem, never had instability problems, never had ANY problems. Its fast, stable, and stable...and did i mentioned stable? I've flashed almost every rom that exists and this has been the most bug-free, lag-free, problem-free, rom I have ever put my hands on. I always go back to it because it runs so smooth.
I highly, HIGHLY recommend it.

Thanks for the information. I shall try this ROM.
DUTTYS
I use duttys hybrid v2. Its the fastest rom i flashed by far go try if you like
DCS 1.7 Ultimate Video
One worth trying and compatile with older radios. Stable, snappy and was one of my favorites. Would flash back to it but have Dutty's WM6.1 5.2.19209 running pretty well and haven't mastered UC yet (I think Sashimi might get push me over the edge)

Wish Johan would come back . . . where are you Johan?!?!
easily hands down, leos diamond v3 rom. Fastest rom in kaiser history!
Win 6.1 HTC update is a complete disaster!!!
OK. I downloaded and flushed today this new Win 6.1 HTC update:
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.28.405.0_radio_sign_25.83.40. 02_1.65.16.25
(I had previously an original HTC ROM)
But, unfortunately, it seams to be a complete disaster. Many programs are simply not working. iGO, for example, even doesn't start. The local language support doesn't work. The phone becomes slower then before, with an original HTC ROM.
After a couple of hours of fighting, I was forced to do something that I was afraid doing since I've bought this phone – flash a non standard XDA ROM.
After Hard-SPL, the first ROM that I tried was a Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700. And it worked OK, but just to try something else for comparison, I than flashed a L26 Kaiser Diamond Version 3 !!! (Core 19588)
And immidiatly got almost the same problems like with the new Win 6.1 HTC update ROM.
It seams to be that a L26 Kaiser Diamond Version 3 and new Win 6.1 HTC update ROM used the same ROM core. Please correct me if I am wrong.
So, after that I am back with the Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2, but I've just flushed the same radio version like one that I had with the HTC update: ver. 1.65.16.25
Now, everything works just perfect.
