Their own; see http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=878
However, I'd wait for the V900 instead if you definitely want to go for E-TEN See http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=1080

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll pass on the V 900, I need my slide out keyboard. May wait if they announce a sliding keyboard version of the 900.
They are completely different. O2 sometimes uses HTC for manufacturing devices but Eten is not like that. And the hardest part is, there are no much Eten users here in xda and so don't expect any custom ROMs.
PS: But as far as Ive experienced with Eten, unlike HTC, they themselves provide a heavily customized ROM which will definitely be faster than HTC! And call recording works clearly on both ends!
Regards,
Carty..
Forgot to mention that providing VGA resolution in qVGA size is Eten and no HTC has it!
Regards,
Carty..
Does Eten provide drivers optimized for hardware video acceleration? Seeing the limitations of recent HTC phones, and having in mind a VGA resolution requires 4x the processing power of QVGA, I would say that's a must.
And, do they offer ROM updates too? HTC gave free updates from WM 5 to WM 6 for many of their phones.

Yeah well if HTC keeps treating its customers like crap maybe there will be support for Eten in here(crappy phones, crappy customer support, bad or wroong drivers)

if you really need a keyboard you might wanna wait for the Eten M810, the sucessor to the M800, it looks really good with good specs, from personnal experience, the devices are good quality and the roms have plenty of OEM customazation from Eten.

Hi, I had from many years a HTC Himalaya and I loved it... but now I have bought an ETEN Glofiish M800... about the Customizable ROM here u can find a recently customized Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for the Glofiish: http://eten-users.eu/index.php?showtopic=13538
Regards,
Cristian (aka tesKing)
i dont know for these new devices but for the x500/m700 ive read in many forums that eten devices with vga screens were "slow"
but ive tested none by myself
I have a TYTNII and bought the Eten M800 due to the VGA screen. The speed is more or less the same as for the HTC, i.e. slow but still useable. However you get VGA resolution in a very good quality screen. Apart form that, the M800 is almost inusable, it has touch sensitive buttons that make the everyday use a real PAIN. The WM6 is very unstable in this device probably due to the amount of (useless) applicattions that ETEN has preloaded. I found a workaround to the problem of the buttons:
1) Disable the touch buttons using the registry (leave "OK" and the Windows logo only)
2) Change the voice comnmander by the Cyberon Voice Speed dial
Then there is the problem of the paint....mine looks like 5 years old and has les than one month. Unfortunately I sold the TYTNII... too early.
I use the M800 and I am quite satisfied so far.
Sold my Touch Dual and apart from the weird touch buttons and the small RAM its a very nice device.
There are cooked roms available and you don't need to unlock anything. just put the ROM files on a FAT16 SD card, boot, hold a few buttons and 8 mins later its done.
GPSSlovakias WM 6.1 ROM for the M800 is stable and fast, much faster than the stock ROM.
i also disabled the buttons on the front. unfortunately they are not really usable.
the M810 is nice for sure, but only QVGA!
once you get used to a VGA screen you really cant go back anymore. the difference is huge. especially with apps that take full use of it, like the excellent Netfront 3.5 browser and PocketXpdf.
also it just looks that much cleaner. on TodayAgenda I can show much more info, the SPB Plus and Phone icons looks superb, etc...
IMHO its a great device but has a few shortcommings.
what i would love in the next eten:
128MB ram
flush screen
real front buttons
better keyboard
i would not say that the M800 is unusable. not for me, at least.
it was a great upgrade to my touch dual and as the dual has basically no hardware buttons, it doesnt make much difference that the M800 ones are unusable
btw, I used AE Button Plus for disabling the buttons as its more comfortable that way
the speed of the device is very good with the newest WM 6.1 ROM, really. and there is a new touch screen driver that resolves the 80% CPU bug when pressing the screen.
ROMs for ETEN M800
I agree that once you disable the buttons the device is just OK, specially the screen pays for the rest of the troubles (shared in part by HTC devices). However, I miss the nice send and end buttons of the TYTNII. Where do you get the cooked ROMs? Do you know if there is any available in spanish? I had to buy the WME version because apparently they don't market the device in Spain or any spanish speaking country or I haven't located any dealer selling a spanish version... Maybe it still does not exsist.
I've been able to enter in bootlader mode by pressing power+record+hw reset, then a terminal screen prompts for a USB loader and then for a SD card image file, however I haven't found any rom so far.
here:
WM 6.1 thread
but if you can wait, a new rom version will be upped, according to the thread starter.
I have the WWE version too, as they dont make them in German
no idea if there is a spanish rom.
of course good buttons would be nice, but i disabled the lower row and use the win, ok, left, right buttons and it works well that way.
btw if you click the record button twice, the touchbuttons get locked. if you click twice again, they get unlocked. maybe this is helpful for you
I see a lot of people complaining about the touch buttons but I am having a good experience with them. I found M800 really nice and usable.

Hi,
Could you tell, please, what program do you use to record on both ways with an E-ten?
Thank you
hi there....
should i buy this fone for 250€ ?
i got an HTC Wizard for 3 years.
The m800 is the worst phone I ever had..
Bad paint, flimsy battery cover, 64MB RAM (too low for the VGA screen).
Even my ancient universal is faster (also with 64 MB) then the m800..
Glad to have a diamond now.
My advice: it's not worth the money.
For 250 you can probably buy yourself a second hand Diamond..
Hi guys,
I have tried searching for a thread like this but only found one from 07', Im think about upgrading my Trinity to a newer model but i am not sure which model to upgrade to, I like the looks of the Diamond but not sure about the battery life and size, is the Diamond pro (not sure if that is the correct name, it has the slide out keyboard) going to be any better? How dose the Titan compare? Or the Polaris? Is there any others I have missed?
Thanks
I don't know about the best HTC, but I can tell you that we are hearing a lot of rumours about bugs and lock ups with the Diamond. I haven't checked recently though, maybe they have brought out a less buggy rom for it or solved the issue.
you're asking for out personal opinions, so you can't hope to get an unskewed answer.
my answer- get a smartphone with plenty of ram and processor. You'll love the ease of use that i just can't seem to get on ppc.
My personnal:
pros - TouchFlo 3D, G-sensor,VGA screen,Size,Design
cons - speed of WM6 scrooling, slower video playback (but still can play unconverted videos), everyone MUST try it, so you can not even tell somebody you have it.
Hi,
I'm almost about to buy the Vox. It comes with WM 6.0, is it wise to flash it to WM6.1?
Wich rom would be the best? Depens on what apps i need?
And is it possible to play gameboy emulators with it?
thanks very much

Personally I'm running the Lefab47 Fireburned WM6.1 ROM
12 months in the VOX is still hands down the best phone Ive ever owned.
6.1 is a definate yes - its a big improvement
I would also suggest getting one of the XIP 20202 core roms as this addresses on of my only 2 gripes with the VOX, namely the speed - it was slightly underpowered, however with the new core speed is no longer an issue its greatly improved so my only remaining grip is that the camera could be better - but hey its almost perfect.
DO BUY ONE - they are seriously good
I found pocketGBA, hope this works.
Hello!!
I'm a new user of the HTC Raphael.
I Started with it original roms (Frensh SFR) very boring ...
Now I'm trying some cooked ones:
|RAPH|ROM|6.5.5|WWE| ★ EnergyROM 'Leo' (23518/21889) ★ |Jan 18| Sense 2.5 !
[ROM][WWE][PRO|FUZE][WM6.5.3|28002][21NOV09] TAEL ROM v3.28002 • STANDARD EDITION •
Go to first new post [ROM][WWE][15 Jan 10] Exquisite 4.03a WM 6.5 (23518) for Touch Pro [GSM]
etc etc
For my opinion: I think that EnergyROM 'Leo' is tbe best, graphically not but very fast and we have all the soft that the need.
It will be very nice if members here tried to share their impressions about the different roms they are using...
Thanks
the first rom i used was NATF it came flashed on my fone, i changed 2 energyrom i did like it but after a while it was getting laggy for me i also tried tpc joshkoss 1 of my favorites but in my opinion i like ChromeRommas the most its fast great graphics and has all the good apps.
Thanks for reply...i get bored with rom using touch flo3D they are very slow
Ah... french Sfr, a real **** (i know what about i'm speaking... "c'est à ce moment qu'on se dit que finalement on n'aurait pas du prendre l'offre opérateur ").
I think lots of WM 6.5 Roms are useful, lots of utilities inside... but slow, not smooth. I had to hard reset once a week (Messaging is very bad !).
The fastest ROM is a WM 6.1 ROM with Touch Flo, and no Manila. Since i've tried Manila, i've some problems (no really problems, but i hate lag on my phone).
The next ROM i'll try is WM 6.1 TF3D (RomeOS or GEN.Y for example).
I have used around 4 different ROMs since getting my HTC Fuze almost a year ago. I personally have just recently began using EnergyROM Phoenix 2 WM 6.5 build 21889 after hearing so much about it. I must say I am very impressed. I switched to it from TPC in an attempt to fix a bluetooth issue (which it turns out was not even related to the TPC ROM).
So far I really like EnergyROM. It makes the phone feel like a device that is a pleasure to use. However, I also found that when I was using TPC V3 I had the same experience. Before using these two ROMs it always felt like I was wrestling with the phone whenever I wanted to do something with it.
I personally am now partial to EnergyROM due to the aestetics. On both ROMs however the internet browsing is very fast and most pages render really well. I also seem to get much better overall network speeds on these two, but this could very well be related to a radio upgrade I did along with them. I seem to get very good battery life with both ROMs. GPS also seems to easily work great on both. I actually prefer the dialer used on Energy as it seems to integrate very well on the phone, but TPCs also works good. Application wise both of them come with tons of essentials. I found that TPC seemed to have more integrated, but most of them I do not utilize. One big plus I found on the applications is that Energy has a working "HTC Wifi Router". This did not previously work on my phone before.
Forgot to include one of my favorite parts of the current Energy ROM I am using. This ROM is using Sense 2.1. This is an absolute joy to use! It very closely resembles what TF3D is, but works 200% better! I experience very little lag and all of the integrated features I have tried work as they should. Not to mention that it just looks amazing. This is what TF3D should have been! I almost feel sorry for people who still use the stock ATT ROM and TF3D and have not been able to experience either a custom ROM and/or Sense, as it makes the device a whole new experience!
Wish I could give a better review of both ROMs, but I have only used both for a week so far!
All is on the title...
No more ROM in the future
I agree with you, but.....
There doesn't seem to be anything to replace it. I've tried Kaiser, Magic and Diamond hardware, all of which suck in comparison.
So I've ended up back on the uni - the other phones are all heading to ebay.
Any suggestions as to how we liven up the uni a bit?

Yep, the Uni is unbeatable about the life, any vanilla ROM with one of the latest builds will be nice WM6.1/6.5
My way of keeping my Uni fun was SPB Mobile Shell 3.5, it is just like getting a new user interface, so doesn't matter so much what ROM it is running, even WM5. The only thing I needed was 128Mb RAM. However, I have to say that having 128/256 on my LG KS20 felt amazingly roomy, wish my Uni had that much space.

I agree completely. spb ms3.5 plus any lightweight stable rom will do the trick for 64MB uni pls take note however that spb ms is not for free (yu need a little resourcefulness though ).
of course, blessed are those with upgraded ram

solution??? i guess we need to start cooking unless you will continue and start releasing new rom again
btw yur 21040 is one of the roms ive tested and found to be more responsive and compatible with spb ms 3 & 3.5. many thanks for sharing.. regards

There are still a few Chefs alive in Uni section!
So Uni will never die, even if there is no mre new ROM´s we reached WM6.5 on a device with WM5, so we are actual.
And I´m sure someone will find the way to port the new look of WP7 in the future!
I have tested several HTC devices and have to agree, none of them can be compared, even if they are faster...not even my Rhodium (which is a great device)
UNIVERSAL will never die!!
OK, so a bit of a rom refresh would cheer people up. I'll package up a 21068/21051 rom in the next few days. This build has been running on my Uni for a few months now so I know it's stable, there's just some loose ends to tidy up. It'll also finally ditch tcpmp 0.81 in favour of the latest 0.72recomp3 which now matches 0.81 for playback speed and doesn't have the annoying screen rotation bug.
If you still love your uni, and you've not had it upgraded to 128mb yet - go and find a way to get it upgraded! It gives the phone a new lease of life - snappier, more versatile and it seems to improve battery usage. (I suspect the battery improvement is due to reduced CPU-load and Flash-reads when pagepooling is disabled)
Note that you can run a 64mb device without pagepooling, but RAM tends to fill up quite quickly, resulting in apps refusing to load or acting all crashy. That said, there are ways to improve memory management (auto-hibernate for one) that might make it more of an option.
@Enigma - 256MB would rock - particularly for those who like to dabble with linux/android. It's just a shame nobody makes 128mb chips in the right packaging. :-(
Great to know something new will come!!, hope for 64Mb too
Shame for me upgrade to 128mb it´s very hard to accomplish
Great news!
thingonaspring ,
greart news to hear!
I have been using Cotull Q3 WM 6.1 for ages.......nothing beats it. (IMHO)
And with 128 MB RAM it's "snappy".
A new ROM is always welcome.Waiting with appreciation.
Thanks.

Can we change the title of the thread?...it is rather depressing and misguiding.
And do you expect us to suggest any apps to include in the ROM or would it be a Vanilla one?

mine has tomal V8.9, windows 6.1 and spb mobile shell (yes i was resourceful and got it.) and mine now runs like a charm and give my 64mb xda exec a new ui and fresh look.

I´m completly agree about this, I think we should ask OP first
@teddybear3k, do you think you can consider this request please?
Also today Sun Dream released a new ROM, so Uni will be still alive!!!
OK title changed.
Here I can tell my IMATEJASJAR not dead, he is the top, the only disadvantage is the ram, but I already have a donor hand and will follow the operation and 128mb ram will be happy if you still make good ROMs for our UNI, maybe one day I learn to cook roms for my faithful friend
