T-Mobile Full Internet For 1 or 2$ only... - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

I don't know if this will work for every one but i have checked myself and its working perfect... First Call the customer care and ask them for activating your full Internet Package.. then at same day go on line at night go to my-t mobile website and de select the package.... the Internet will work for whole month and they will charge your bill 1 or 2 $$ if you have kept Internet for 2 days... Let me get confirmation if it works for you guys...
I kept on connection live when i deselected the package.. so i think that made me going for free connection... but this will end when your billing periods ends.. all you have to do is give them back a call.. and enjoy one more month of free Internet... i have been doing this since 2 months.. and its working... hope it works for you too..

No one here to confirm it .... ???/

Didn't work for me, glad it did for you...

this might work:
go to the t-mobile website. ur phone model should be displayed on the top corner. click on that and change ur phone model to some crappy phone. i recommend: motorola v330. then go to plan options and select the $5.99 t-mobile internet plan... i think it's called t-mobile wap or something like that.
internet settings have to be done:
wap.voicestream.com
also u have to add the proxy settings: 216.155.165.50:8080
ur internet should fully work now. it even works if u plug in the phone to ur pc and use it as a modem
any help needed? especially with the settings? pm me.

I hope you didn't get bumped to the pay-per-use package.

i only pay 5.99 for my internet....

I was referring to ikm19. Looks like he got prorated for the internet he did use and got bumped to a pay per use package.

has this worked for anyone? i added and removed the total internet about 1 day ago and i still have the internet on my phone.

why won't this topic bump?

Free Internet on US Tmobile MDA

Hi everyone
I just wanted to know if someone has tried a prepaid sim on the mda and used the internet through EDGE. For some reason i get free internet and I just have $10 on my account with no charge to it. post if you get the same result.
Update: Was told about this Free WAP on T-Mobile!
But they talk about having free wap but its actually free gprs so you can use PIE, Opera for ppc,
Win media and listen to streams or anything that can use gprs (edge)
and also you can use modem link or internet sharing for your PC
Update 2: This will only work for US T-Mobile because of the updating to 3G of the network. So it may work for a limited time. < Refining EDGE
Update 3: Can also work on contract sim cards but i advise to use at own risk tmobile my start to charge you and it can get expensive if you do not have a data plan. I have been told that sometimes this may not work But will work on prepaid sim cards
Update 4: this will work on any phone but you need to have a different web browser like opera mini. It may also stop working but will work again if you disconnect and connect again right then or in a different time.

Plug this today if you are complianing this is a capped plan now what ever you do it doesn't matter. the compute will bill for what you have
Move this to the front so i don't have to deal with the hype
fact free net never went down
means no man down if no mms was being used or dialed in.
Fact i still cant get out on some phones i am cingular so t-mobile takes a bit longer for me
Plane straight t-zones $5.99 no mms cabs t-zones
216.155.165.50:8080 done
Plan t-zones online only catch 22 must change phone to a non pda.
I am OK with this move for one reason. the minute you make a call the system will flip your phone status back to the beautiful stock photo of what ever you have
If you don't understand me well guess what i don't look up when i type i do look up when i sign paychecks so just ask your friend moderator and this goes right into th45 move chart. 7 years and still cant typo as fast as i think
My theory is this i still am having problems with outh the cabs like im handi cap so that mens that the mms plays a role when you dial it in dont ask some else figure it out because our cabs work but i always change to 8080
the same source and my coaching argues with me on this stupid subject.
everyone here that has a opinion should also take into consideration that mathematics and reason does not make the world go round in the us its money homes and cars we will leave that discussion for one of my 100 seminars i power train at.
But 3g is already their but cingular never owned or should i say lease the heavier sites up top they bought the newbie national package. So the reason t mobile is not as deep is because cingular most likely resigned a separate deal that would not be part of a locked contract. So t mobile has to buy it on thier own.
But 3g only works in certain areas like blocks but when t hooks up it shakes financially t-mobile will wait until the market moves an inch the hype is not 3g for the 97 percent of the world only the fans. You will see more picture and video before speed is a priority.
hence the reason 2000 laptops are a nickel now. i see a ten quad coming why some body shooting the titanic nope i guarantee you some asshole in chicago saw that the glutens meaning the us will be picture crazy and share your picture and make your family trip a movie so they are making gaming look like a intermediate sport
good news better for the individual that wants a nuke for hardware cause last time i checked Intel core duo 2 were not $599. wait a month the good stuff will just get cheaper.
T-mobile could give to ****s about anybody back dooring a connection. Half of the reason it limited is to cut down on support the sales guy has no affiliation with the web and has no idea that his company is like the airlines trying to eliminate human error and involvement so thats why all cell phone company's act like mac users when u walk in. Mention the website your done.
You guys 2 ways to go media $9.95 or t-zones flip the phone online to a non pda chief go ahead and tear this up copy paste what ever get to the front so we don't up set the ladies.

Thanks for telling me
I read somewhere on howardforums about a week or so ago about this. From what I saw posted, this is only temporary because T-Mobile is making some upgrades on their data network.
I guess for the time being it’s just easier for them to open the whole data network to everyone while making whatever changes/upgrades.
My guess would be its some kind of upgrade to the internet access authentication system, and since that authentication system is down during the upgrade, the smoothest way to continue data access for the time being is to just give it to everyone. Just a guess though =P
I think its for there new 3G network. but for now ill enjoy the free service. Hope they dont charge when they finish there upgrade.

I have a T-mobile prepaid sim and I get free internet. I don't think its edge speed though because it does take a while for the web pages to load. I think its wap speed. If you are getting edge speeds without paying, I guess your lucky. No charge.
it goes faster if you use it on a computer but when using it on the phone it goes slower. i read somewhere that edge has 4 time slots and could go at higher speeds if all 4 time slots are connected but thats in good weather and nothing between the phone and the tower. i think its in wikipedia.com that i read this.
I'm getting it too...wooohooo! Much slower than wireless but it's great to update weather and rss feeds. Thanks to everyone for all the info.

I just posted this in the networking area ... I too am getting FREE connectivity .. without a prepaid card.
I do not have a data plan, am on a regular family plan, and am located in Salt Lake City, UT. I am also out of contract.
I flashed my MDA to Faria's AKU 3.3 8mb ROM. Set my carrier to "T-Mobile WAP", and voila! I get free access.
I freaked the first time it started up, and was downloading data.. thinking I was going to get a big fat bill.
I called customer service, and long story short, they told me that if I could connect, I was lucky, because it is a fluke, and I would be shortly disconnected thereafter. I was also told that I would NOT be charged.
So ... there you have it. Free (for a limited time) data access on T-Mobile.

I think the representatives dont know about the upgrade until there almost finish upgrading. as i been seeing its been a long time, maybe since 2005 that people have reported this. It makes me think that they are updating all of the network. that will also means that they will be taking out 3g phones and i could finally use my htc tytn on tmobile for internet instead of cingular.

I'm sorry, what's the question? You're trying to set up an APN to connect to that?
My bad if I'm totally lost.
Can you explain this a little more?
Just call up T-mobile and tell them you're trying to set your phone up with a non tmo device. They'll transfer you to advanced tech support. If your phone is unlocked they should be able to hook you up with the settings to get data on the network (if you have a data plan that is).

Good question, and this is kind of a swore spot for me and I'll explain. Plus I talked to T-Mobile today about this specifically so I know the answer. My friend has the $10 T-Mobile internet plan that was available before the current plans came out. Its a swore spot for me because I just missed out on getting that plan when I called them a couple months back, and I'm still paying $20/mo for internet :-(. Anyway, that plan has a 5GB usage cap. That plan also worked with his Android phone. Now that plan is no longer available even though old users can keep their "grandfathered in" plan and pricing. The new $10 plan that replaced it has a 200MB usage cap...
Hope that clears things up!
(p.s. I know swore is sore but I like swore...)

Tethering

If I use this rom HyperNonSense-v2.4 is tethering free or will I have to pay for it.
It should be free up to a point. Now what tat point is is really up to your carrier. If you are T-Mobile USA it will be free as long as you do not surpass the 2 GIG or 5 GIG soft cap you have depending on your data plan. But if you go over the soft cap the will try to make you pay extra for tethering. Now as far as other carriers go I can not give you any info on them as I am not familiar with any other carrier's policy.

Yes the will throttle/ slow your internet down bit if you do it more then onscreen they will probably monitor your device and see you are tethering and then notify you that you should purchase the tethering service (which just gives you more data). Now after this notification they will probably continue to monitor your de ice and after you continue to tether they will probably hit you with a tethering fee.
But do not worry too much as I used my HD2 for months as my home internet connection and barely e Dr got close to using 2 GIGs of data. Then again though I do not have 3g or 4g service at my home either so it would have been hard for me to use so much data tethering. So my best advice is to heavily monitor your data usage and not go over. Also if you get a notification via text message or other means from T-Mobile about tethering I would hold off on tethering for a little while.
Ok thanks for the advice. How do they actually know your tethering?

yeah this happened to me last august. I started doing alot of tethering, i quickly went over my 5gb and was throttled down to a crawl. no never needed to get a work around bc i signed back up for home internet a couple weeks later...they were charging $15/month for their tethering plan which i think is real good considering the price of home cable internet. Of course this tethering plan would only be good for basic web browsing

dont pay for hotspot tether

go into settings/ mobile network settings / access point names hit menu make a new apn , name -whatever u want, APN -epc.tmobile.com hit menu save it then hightlight the circle that's it you are ready to tether

It seems T-Mobile has cracked down on tethering these last few days. Mine stopped working during a download (I get the T-Mobile splash screen now), my roommate, who has a My Touch 4G running CM7, had his stop working yesterday.
I've gotten the same results from a couple other T-Mobile users. What a pain, it should be a crime having them charge us for the ability to use the bandwidth that we already pay for.
if you have the 5gb $25 data plan you get hotspot included, just call them up and tell them you want the 5gb hotspot promotion... unless you are on a cheaper plan of course.
Thanks, this worked great!
I'm on the Sensation, I had installed apn manager and found that there was a hidden apn named tmobile tether and instead of epc.tmobile.com it had pcweb.tmobile.com instead. One of our chefs has since then erased this hidden apn and all is well.

Try open garden, the one that looks like a tree, you'll need it on both devices and it creates a mesh network, some caviets are apps tha use data wont work, so you have to do everything through your web browser. This solution also solves the screen off issue while tethering.
As of right now this has been removed or blocked in the newest update.
There is nothing yet been found to allow you to set your own APN again.
You can use wifi tethering with FoxFi as a workaround from foxfi.com/bin but for data to work over wifi tethering you will need to keep the screen on.
That is about the only workaround.

Or use open garden and it makes a mesh network, data still flows with screen off, you'll need open garden on both devices. The only issue is apps that use data like the play store will say your not connected, but anything you want to do with the browser you can.
I know not perfect but thats the closest we have right now, besides keeping the screen on.

Changing the UA(user-agent) is just one of the few obstacles to overcome. The main problem is the tmo OTA update now prevents/locks us from entering the APN needed to bypass/trick the t-mobile tethering check.

We already do pay for it with our monthly contracts, we are allowed x amount of data per month, we go over it and the speed of data isn't even worth tethering. Do they give us money back on the data we don't use? No they don't, so why can't we use the data we pay for any way we want, it's not like data for a tablet costs more or anything like that, it's just greed on the providers end plain and simple.
I just ended up talking to an agent about my bill and I brought up the fact that I couldn't tether anymore, so they put that back on free of charge. I mean hell I'm already paying a decent amount monthly and I have the 5 gig package (which used to be advertised with transforming your device to a hotspot), there is no reason to ask for more other than greed?

I also have a 5 gig plan and the hotspot is supposed to be free, but my 5 gig plan is old and the only way for me to get the hotspot is for me to give up unlimited messaging, which I then would have to pay $15 a month for, umm, yeah, they got me coming and going. BLAH
I work for tmo, and we do give it for free with the 5 & 10gb plans.
Second, I've noticed that it works with Firefox, but no other browser when tethering to a PC/Mac. I haven't edited my APN.

If you're on unlimited, it's unreasonable to ask for wifi tethering. That's like going to a "all you can eat" restaurant, and then bringing a truck to load with food.

Lol, exactly. That's why there's home internet providers. And if you really just want to use your phone, then just get a 10gb plan that has the free hotspot. You're paying for the investment in network upgrades, your paying the engineers salary to produce a network that's very good.
And of course, the CEO's bonus checks lol

Using other roms i can tether temporarally. Well, i get a push message to stop asap or risk losing access. (Im on that unlimited plan.) so i stop. It does work though tethering to my nexus 7, im assuming because it shows it being a mobile device vs. desktop.
The default rom pushes all tethering through pcweb.tmobile.com which depending on your rate plan, determines if you get tether access. custom roms shouldn't have this setup.
I also have a Nexus 7 and the unlimited plan. I'm rooted on the S1 (no ROMs loaded yet) and am now trying to figure out where to go from here.

You can try a new APN. Menu->Settings->More->Mobile Networks->APN or Access Point Names->Menu->New APN
Name it whatever you want and set the APN to epc.tmobile.com. this should bypass tmobile's tethering block.
Also, I've noticed that even if rooted, a desktop using ie, safari or chrome still gets blocked, but Firefox does not.
