iphone like voicemail for PPC? - General Topics

I want a vm app for my Tmobile Wing PPC that downloads my voicemail and makes audio files for each message. then gives me a nifty player to listen to them.
Does anyone know of such a thing?
OR...
Does anyone know if any tmobile has any plans of delivering vm via the data connection like the iphone on at&t?

I believe that callwave has some sort of a visual voicemail service. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for or not, but it's somewhere to start at least.

The Spinvox service is free in the US.

Good Mobile Messaging client

Has anyone heard anything about when the Good Mobile Messaging client for the Fuze will be available? After doing web chat with ATT customer service, a phone call with ATT enterprise support and a phone call to HTC support, I got no answers and in one case plain wrong information ("the client is already on your phone").
I'm currently using the 5.0.5 version, but this is not entirely compatible with the Fuze, so I get some rather annoying and quirky behavior including the odd total lockup.

Ira

Visual Voicemail

Hi,
does somebody know something about Visual Voicemail on the Leo? I saw it on an iPhone and it´s a cool way to check the voicemail..
thanks..
It's a feature implemented by operators which the Handset must support.
e.g. O2 UK have implmented a new Voicemail platform to specifically support this for the iPhone
as far as i know there is a cab floating arround the forums ripped from a wm6.5 tp2 rom (t-mobile USA). i tried that one on the german t-mobile network (visual voice mail or mailbox pro as t-mob calls it) and it doesn't work. sorry. at the moment only some symbian s60 phones from nokia and one LG phone supports visual voicemail (mailbox pro) on the german t-mobile network.
I would try using hullomail.com , they offer a full visual voicemail app for android but not yet for WM. However you can easily set it up to pickup voicemails and then send them through as a email of sms. The message content tell you who the mail was from and when it was left. The email also comes through with an MP3 of the voicemail. The file size for the MP3 is very small to. I moved from iphone to android and used this to replace missing visual voicemail. I know use this with my HD2 to provide the next best alternative.
Hope this helps.

I tried it too. I wonder if there is a way to hack it to work redirecting it to the Tmobile DE servers

vOnGo for Windows Mobile

I had been looking for an app for my Vonage World Phone, which i can use thru my mobile while on the GO..
A Company called Aphelion Technologies develops such app for iPhone.
http://www.apheliontechnologies.com/mobile/ivongo.php
iPhone has the app for vonage thru which one can make calls, even it does call forwarding and then resets call forwarding once you are done with the call.
Seems really cool. I wish a similar app for my windows Phone

It wasn't working for me either yesterday on my slide. I wonder if it has something to do with the communication to T-Mobile. I went back to old trusty Google Voice...provides practically the same functions as visual voicmail, plus you can have the voicemails transcribed to text and can listen to the voicemails from the computer.
tmobile visual voicemail isn't great...I use youmail, and I love it. It's a free service, and the app has instructions on how to make it work...give it a try...

I believe you have to call up t-mobile.
They will add the android visual voicemail service for free.
Use Google Voice, honestly, the tmobile vm isn't too good.
Google voice is tied to your gmail account, so there's that too.

Visual Voicemail AT&T

I still can't turn it on. Has anyone had any luck??
Sent from my Focus using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I was in a corporate store yesterday and asked about it. The guy was clueless and said only the iphone could do that. I said no the Mango upgrade brought it to WP7 and I believe Android already has it with apps. He said check back next year when the new updates and new phones would be out. Since we know it shouldnt be that long for the upgrades and the new phones it just goes to show the salespeople still are clueless.
Yep... I have Mang B2 and its still not there. T-mobile has theirs turned on. But not ATT.

Try calling your phone and leaving a message, then activating it in the phone settings. My T-Mobile VVM would not activate until I had a new message in my inbox.
Yeah... Just tried it... No go. I think t mobile is the only one that has this feature on wp7 right now.

I get my VVM through Google voice. It's just in email form but I like it

You won't be able to use visual voicemail on AT&T without signing up for their service, which is currently not available for WP7, and will cost $4/month when it (eventually) does become available. It will not be free.
Google visual voicemail is free, however, and it works fine on my Focus. It can be delivered via email, SMS, or both. I chose the SMS option. I added the Google Voice access phone number to my contacts, so when a VVM notice comes through (they come from the access number), if I need to listen to it to clarify a mistake in the transcript, it only takes two taps to connect.
There is also the GoVoice Free App that gives you FULL visual voicemail function through Google Voice. It can be found in the Market. But I will prefer ATT VVM when it comes avail.
Are there any updates on this? Does anyone have Visual Voicemail working on ATT with their WP7 device?
Did you try texting Activate:dt=6 to 122?
AT&T does not support Visual Voicemail on Windows Phone 7... yet. So until AT&T supports it, we won't be getting it.
Its simply amazing how long it takes AT&T to "test" things.
Alternative for visual voice mail
Try the MagikMail app with a free YouMail account. Works perfectly with push notifications. You can even load your contact photos to YouMail and get their pic on a flipping live tile along with their phone number when they leave a message. It's a lot better than the Google Voice apps, IMO.
