Hey all, I just upgraded to NBD 8.0 and let me tell you this pup is blazing fast.
Onto to my question: I used to used GB Soft for WM5 before my rom upgrade, and now I miss that it would auto disconnect. Does anyone know if it indeed does work for WM6 and if not, is there a similar app out there?
Thanks in advance!

I have recently upgraded my k-jam to custom WM6 and have tried 2.19.11, 2.25.11, 2.47.11, 2.61.11 and 2.69.11 radio roms and the data G or E icon keeps going away and instead i see an x sign
with WM5 even if i had an x sign and i wanted to connect to internet the application used to connect without any problem but with WM6 it does not connect when x is displayed saying that data services not available so i have to then turn the phone function off and on to get it working.
i heavily use data services so its very frustrating going through the process again and again.
is there a tweak/hack available? what could be causing the problem?

When you were using wm5 was it stock or custom? If it was custom when you started having connectivity problem, try reflashing your official carrier rom andthe n reflash a cooked rom. You might just have had a bad flash.
What carrier are you with???? Have you loaded your settings correct ??? That are in "connections/connections" then in com manager , make sure your phone is "on" as when it is turned off, like in flight mode, you will get an "x" where it woud show "E" If all is well then I would return your phone in because you would have a hardware problem.
Hi,
I was faced with exactly the same weird gprs problem you described. That is, once booted, gprs works as expected. several hours later, G (or E) sign disappears and an x (no gprs service) appears at the top. After that, it is impossible to re-attach to the GPRS (the only way is to restart the radio or perform a soft-reset). I tried 3 different custom roms together with different radio roms. The tweaks didn't help me in any ways. I even tried 3.08 IPL/SPL without any success. Strangely, t-mobile wm5 rom and my original wm5 rom hadn't had any such problems.
Then I found NBD rom and it happily solved my problem (thanx zoki! for this great rom) I don't know what is wrong with other roms, but my problem simply went away!!
So, using NBD rom may solve your problem. It is great and the connection is successfully getting alive even x sign is displayed in my case (btw, same thing happened to one of my friends here and he then installed NBD, then gprs problem was solved successfully.)
Hope this helps.. All the best.
Orhan.

Hello all,
I've been using nbd for a while, and now I upgraded to nbd 9.1 and I found this to be a problem. every hour or so, activesync will open up and make my phone slow as a biotch.
I have done the whole, add server source change time to manually thing but for some reason it's not working on WM6. My dad has the Hermes and the same thing happens to him. any fix for this guys?
Thanks in advance!

Are you using the Dutty rom listed in your signature?
I had this issue myself on Sleuth's WM6.1 (ver 3.0) rom. When the screen failed to rotate back after closing the keyboard, I would just slide it back and forth once or twice and it would correct itself.
I went back to WM6 for the time being until we learn more about the new "feature" in 6.1 that supposedly allows carriers to tell if our phones are being tethered to our computers for ICS.
actually Im using DCS rom untill dutty comes out with his final 6.1. I have tried open shut many times and it does not reorient.
As for your "Feature" about tethering. I acytually work for AT&T and they have had the ability to tell if your tethering for a while now. If you are doing tethering they will eventually catch on and make you change features to continue.
Try HTCHome to reorientate your screen, maybe that will do?

Hi there,
I have a Qtek S200 WM5 mobile phone. Working good with all options, except for the WPA2 support. I've tried to connect to the Wireless Network at my work, but I could not (needed to install a certificate; but this did not help).
I though: an upgrade to WM6 or 6.1 will work, so I decided to upgrade to WM6.1 (one of the Roms of varanusvincent; which by the way works pretty nice!!!).
Now with WM6.1 I can connect to the wireless network of my work, but as soon as I get a good connection, my screen turns black. The LED lights on top of the phone still show me that the Wireless connection and the Telephone connection are still working.
Does anyone have an idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Check the new Rom from Varanus i solve that problem allready also the recent pdaviet roms have the wpa problem fixed.
Well, I've tried to use one of the latest ROMS of varanusvincent, which should be supporting WPA2...
I guess I'll buy another telephone after all I don't want to change the ROM again now... just finished making all new settings...
Thanks for the reply!
did you change the radio rom.
What do you mean by change the Radio ROM?
Why? And is there a way to stop it? It's very stupid and annoying.
what phone you got and what Rom.
You can't just post a question without details. Best to put the details in your sig.
oh, sorry, my bad. I got an iPAQ Data Messenger with the default 1.05 or something ROM running WinMo 6.1 Pro
