How the f*** do i transfer contacts form SIM to phone?
I dont need to know how its done the otherway round, but i am sure most others would also wanna know that too!.
Any exe or cabs pr plugins to do this?
I searched all the forum sections, even different devices
I tried the Sim Manager from a different thread but..
Doesnt seem to work on WM5 based SDA (i have an imate sp5m rom installed)

its nowhere as polished as sim manager..
but works just fine!

I have both MDA and SDA. I just beamed mda sim manager to sda and it worked perfectly there.

They recently added support for PPC/Smartphones, but you'll need a third-party client addon: SyncML (http://www.synthesis.ch/dl_client.php?lang=e&lay=desk&bp=CPDA&pv=SMPWM#dlds_CPDA1) which isn't free. Zyb is in the works developing a SyncML of their own which will be free of charge (guess it's going to be locked on to zyb only)
I've used it with my Nokia phones and it works great .. Haven't got around to test it on my 8310/Tornado yet since I recently found out about the new supported hardware

Link isn't valid anymore. However I know the Blackberry website has shown connect software for quite some time. I have yet to see it for a Smartphone however I know some people got it up and running on thier Wizards.
I am hoping someone find the bb connect for this device, especially since HTC has a track record for releasing a client for their devices. I have not seen BB connect for any wm5 smartphone device yet. I don't think it exists.
I saw a screen shot on the RIM site...but cannot find the app for WM5 smartphone...have found it for WM5 pocket pc...but that will not install on smartphone.

It would only install on a Moto MPx220 device running WM 2003 and gave a uncertified device error when I tried it on any other device. Any programmers out there want to give it a shot and change the cab file so it does not require a particular device to install on? I never did get it to work on my Cingular provided MPx220, but perhaps there was an app lock issue I wasn't aware of. I've learned a lot in the last few years about WM issues. If anyone would like to take this Cab apart with an app like CabWiz and rebuild it, we could all try this out on a WM 5.0 device, and see if we could get it to work.

I was told by RIM that it was coming out this month for the Excaliber
Well, I was holding my breath, but I heard it is now released on the Dopod version, the C720, in Asia. This is huge. It shouldn't be long before we can pull that app off the Dopod ROM and use on any Dash, S620, or other HTC Excaliber model! If anyone has any updates, or gets their hands on this Dopod ROM, please post it here.

It works on stock T-Mobile DASH ROM....I didn't even do app unlock...All I did was Sim unlock for Cingular service.

No luck on a Cinglar BlackJack. Once application unlocked it will not connect.

Got BBConnect installed on my imate smartflip successfully, but PIN is stuck at "Pending". Does anyone have any idea what I have to do now?

Got it installed on my Blackjack with no problems but alas, I have the Pending pin. There is a BB Connect dekstop software out there that will generate a pin for a bis account but I cant seem to find it. I even tried my Treo 750 desktop dsoftware but it wont work. We need a dekstop Software to generate the pin.
The desktop software doesn't generate PIN. It isn't even connecting with my phone....so mad....
I got it working on my palm 750v without the desktop software btw....not sure what I did and loved it.
Uh, Senna 174, I saw you in the Blackberryforums as a new member asking for this Activesync Blackberry configuration tool. So yes it does generate it. Research your infor before posting information grasshoppa.

I installed the software and connect the phone, then I got an unsuccessful connection error. I think the software is running (How do I verify it?) and it is connected to the desktop.

Hi, I have been trying to get my TG01 to use the free Skype on 3UK. what I have done so far is install iskoot, changed the registry values as people say to do on forums winmo phones but I keep getting unable to connect when attempting to login to Skype. I have notices baseurl keeps changing.
I have also changed the APN to 3services, I can go onto free internet services on 3UK like ebay and planet3?
I want to get the free Skype and Windows Live Messenger to work on this, I have not tried getting Windows live messenger to work yet, been too stuck on the iskoot skype thing, it's driving me nuts.
Has anyone managed to get these free services from 3UK to work on their TG01?
Also I have found that 3UK is now selling the HTC Hero with these free services and I think you can download both Skype and Windows live messenger if you have the HTC Hero, has anyone got the installation files to share or tried installing this on another winmo phone? does anyone know what the HTC Hero user-agent is in Netfront?
Edit: just noticed the HTC Hero is on android and not Windows Mobile, but still other winmo users have managed to get their 3UK skype working through iskoot. Anyone having this same problem or know of any possible solutions? (keep getting the unable to connect message)

What is the 3UK service? I have my skype and live working perfect. Just using wifi not the operator conetions.

3 uk has free skype service which routes calls through a 3's special GSM number instead of internet/3g/wifi. normal skype client routes calls using skype servers but this will cost you data charges but 3's skype routing is free as long as you are on skype. Now, iskoot makes special clients to route skype calls through 3's GSM number.

I really want to be able to use the free skype to skype text and calls even though I have never used skype before, I have created accounts with them just for this purpose.
I don't see why it is not allowing me, I have followed the step by step instructions people have posted on other threads but repeatedly getting unable to connect. Thinking of trying the 16th March Windows Mobile 6.5 update sometime soon to see if it will help.

Hello! I just got an unlocked at&t surround phone for christmas. I use simple mobile from t-mobile. The phone makes calls and sends texts but will not connect with the 3g internet or send MMS. I have already been through older posts here looking for an answer. everyone talks about an app in the marketplace called connection setup. I have seached the htc market place and the general marketplace and i cannot find it. Is there any other way? or am i possibly not looking in the right place?
Any help you can give me is welcome! if i cant fix the phone i will have to sell it and i dont want to I love it!

You won't be able to connect to 3G on that phone running T-Mobile. They use different 3g bands and it is hard coded into the hardware. As for mms you need to make sure your apn is correct
So it will only work with AT&T?

Custom ROM for HTC Mondrian (Surround)
I have tried using the custom ROMs by DFT and Ansar, but the Intrinsic ROM seems to be the best. It has 7.10.7740.16 version and Internet Sharing. TouchExplorer and Registry Editor work on it. I have only two issues - TouchExperience is throwing an unhandled exception error and i am not able to update to 7.10.8107.79 through Zune.
An update - i didn't want to continue using a ROM which doesn't allow updates, so i tried Ansar's RUU_Surround_Cingular_US_4.03.502.01_Radio_5.69.09.05a_22.50.50.21U_NT_Mango_7720 again.
Again, Zune did not show the 7740 and 8107 updates, but i was able to install them using WP7+Update+Cab+Sender.
So i finally have what i was looking for - an unlocked phone which can be upgraded to tha latest os version.
Almost ideal, except for one key ingredient missing - Internet Connection Sharing. I've tried DiagProvXMLv0.91_IS and it has resulted in the internet sharing option showing under Settings. However, i get an error msg 'Internet sharing isn't enabled yet' when i try to turn on the feature.
Hoping that Ansar will read this post and provide a solution soon!

I Just get an HTC 7 Pro, with Mango installed on it.
I love this device, windows phone...
Windows Phone is really a great OS, complitely different from the others (even winmo, which I had on my previews device, which was a touch pro 2)
But I want to go further with the OS.
In fact, I want to chevron (or apphub if possible, but have no email or else...) unlock my device.
But I can't find any way to make it... (I searched so much...)
Change the ROM ? I would preffer to stay on stock rom... (better update possibilities)
Downgrade it ? No, if possible not, I just got it, I don't want to make some mistakes with it Maybe in one year
Chevron is no more possible, no token anymore (and, anyway, I have no possibility to buy something in Internet...)
Can anyone help me ?

Sorry but now (if you haven't developer account (99$ for Microsoft per year) or student account (find it with google)) downgrade and instal HSPL and custom, unlock ROM it's the only way out for you. (if you want have unlock device)
Email accounts are very easy to get for free (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo mail, many others), so I assume you mean that you don't have a student email account. I can't help you there. Do you not have a credit card? That would let you get a developer account easily enough, though they do cost money.
Downgrading the SPL and installing a custom ROM isn't very hard, though you must be careful. That will get you full unlock. Some of them are also updatable, and a few can even use official Zune updates (in theory; I've neve tried) while staying unlocked.

Yep, I was talking about a student account. And no, no credit card... (it's really annoying me... I can't even buy apps like xda or others...)
Ok, I will try to find a rom which can be zune updateble... (that's the main reason why I don't want to quit HTC roms...).
There weren't RSPL on winmo devices... will it be possible to use it to flash a rom, and then go back without flashing it again with RSPL ?
By the way, is there any official roms out there ? there aren't some of curse on HTC's support website.
