Brightness toggle

I am aware that this question would have been asked previoulsy as it might be a common point however let me ask it again and request some tips in this regard.
Does anyone know of a means assign a softkey to toggle the brightness levels.
The sittuation is when you out in bright daylight, sometimes its even difficult to see button on the home screen for toggling brightness.
The other part of my question is does anyone have any tips for dealing with this sittuation?

a solution..
you can copy program attached in zip file to your PDA ..
create a shortcut to \windows\start menu\programs ..
after assign any softkey in setting\buttons

Thanks for the help guys,
I am using MVBacklight and it does the job!!!
I just used a register editor to change to 8 (Dec) value the LockLevel register
     HKEY_CURRENT_USER > ControlPanel > BackLight > LockLevel > LockLevel Value ...
(HTC Touch Cruise 3650, Polaris) but it is not ok. I must do something else... What could be?...

REG MOD if no touch screen??

Hello
Unfortunatley I changed my touch screens sensitivity by Advanced config tool. It hasn't got response to touch, I would be too low. I can't change it back, without touch screen and without hardware soft keys...
I made a reg file but don't want to work. I use the Polaris with official wm6.1.
This is my "wrong" file:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Touchpanel]
"Pressure Threshold"=dword:40866
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings]
"FingerPressure"=dword:10892
Have anybody a solution without HR ?
I could solve it

I want to listen not to read a registry key!!
I'm programming a soft that catch the movement of the phone and switch his profil ( vibrate to ring mode ).
there's a registrykey witch modify when the soft run, so i want to listen to the registry to know when the key switched...
[sorry, damn, mistaken attempt :S]
not sure if there is an event you can sign up to to
but guess you could just make a program running in a loop reading
the reg every x sec / min
and detect if it's changes
and the link i gave told how to read a reg val too

WM 6.5 lockscreen

Hello everybody
Today i flashed the new official rom on my topaz.
But i`ve got one little problem. When turning of the display the lockscreen doesnt activate automatically. So i first have to press start and then press lock.
Isn`t there another way? So when you turn of the display it automatically launches the lockscreen.
Thnx

I tried it but it doesnt work...
there is a reg edit to lock the display when the screen dims.
Can't remember where it is but it's lockenable under control/backlight i think..
It will auto lock when you turn off the display as well...
Just use some reg editor and search for "lock", you'll probably spot the key you're looking for.
I use http://montecristoff.webs.com/diamondtweak.htm and there I activated automatic lock, and everytime I press the power button the phone locks and the lockscreen is on. Hope that helps.

no need for any of these 3rd party apps, this was a major niggle of mine with 6.1 and 6.5.
Use RegEdit (if you have it by default with winMo 6.5) or use TotalCommander, navigate to the following registry option:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable
and change the value from 0 to 1, save and exit.
Now when you use the TD2 power button on top of the device to turn of the screen it will automatically lock the device too.
Worked on my TD2 using original 6.1 ROM and the 6.5 Leo cooked ROM's from Dutty I have used in the last month.
this is well documented tip in these forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570757
There is nothing like autodevice lock in official htc 6.5 rom. There is HKCU/controlpanel/backlight/locklevel. I changed the value from 0 to 1, soft reset and nothing happened. I`ll try some of diamond tweaks...
...sorry, double post...
Hi there, does anyone konw why after a period of time the lockscreen will only show upper half instead of full screen? Any solution there ? thanks.
easy solution
found it out the other day myself, but seemed to had lost this post lol
if you hold down the 'end call' key, that will lock the screen for you, save you having to go into start then lock
6.5.1 Build 23504
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable
Toggle from 0 to 1
How can I change that in the register?
Do I need an app for that?

As I mentioned back in post #9 you can use RegEdit in WinMo 6.5 or download and install TotalCommander to edit the registry, there are many other registry editing tools out there as well just, search for them

Works for me Dutty 6.5 Leo HG R1
I just tried a lot of key-combinations and I got one that works (for me...).
If you press the home key (don't release it) and then press the powerbutton. Now it will normally lock the device.
(It works for me, on WM6.5, original HTC rom.)

I tried that. It is OK to lock the mobile when the backlight dims or when putting the mobile to sleep.
But I wouldn't autolock the screen when the backligt dims, only when putting the mobile to sleep (manually or automatically). A solution generally for WM6.5 or particularly for Topaz - Duttys ROM?
