Basically, when a contact is added to the phone, when you view it in Outlook it has no name specified in the "File As" field and thus has no nave viewable on the contact card. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi, I have set up my Mobile Outlook for Exchange Server e-mail (Push mail). There is a setting to set all attachements to be saved on "Storage Card". I have clicked it. But, they are really storred at "Store" location which is the empty Extended ROM (10MB only). There is no way to set it up to save the at "Storage Card" itself. Some ideas how to solve it? Maybe something in the registry?
Greetings,
I just moved back to the Windows Mobile world from a Palm Treo 700P after a year of suffering. I currently have the AT&T Tilt.
I noticed a problem with my contacts that is very odd. Some of the contacts, not all, are corrupted with a bunch of characters in the summary view on the Tilt. It is always right after the company name and always starts with (*PLMO*
It does not show up in any of the fields when I go to edit it nor does it show up in the Outlook 2007 fields. HOWEVER, when I do a simple search in Outlook on my contacts using (*PLMO* as the search string, it displays all of the contacts affected by this problem which tells me it is somehow attachted to a searchable field.
Another note, If I remove the company name from an affected contact, the corruption disappears but if I put anything back in that field, even a letter, and save the contact - all the characters reappear.
My guess is that this is some sort of corruption from the Palm Treo. I used Exchange Activesync on the Palm and obviously do the same for the Tilt to sync contacts, calendar, etc.
Here is an example of the text shown on one contact with a small amount of characters. It looks like code:
(*PLMO*<BDM>1</BDM><BDP>1</BDP><ANP>0</ANP><RGT>8=AAAAAAAA</RGT><PH6>1=(314) 555-5555</PH6>)
Most contacts fill the whole screen with garbage like this:
(*PLMO*<PCT>/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQEBWgFaAAD/2wBDAAgGBg...........same kinda characters fill the whole screen.
Any help cleaning this all up would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Dan
Are there hidden fields in Outlook Contacts that this type of data is stored. Why is it tied to the Company field. If I clear that particular field, the garbage goes away.
I'm trying to avoid rebuilding about a hundred "corrupted" contacts.
Thanks!
Just an FYI. Must not be a very common issue...
I found an easy but time consuming fix. You just have to export each affected contact to a vcard...delete the contact from Outlook...then import it back in to Outlook.
I tried to export all of the affected contacts to a CSV file then import them all back at once, but Outlook could not read the file that it created during the export for some reason.
When I synced my contacts from my Tilt to Outlook via ActiveSync, Outlooked changed all the contacts in the "File As" from First Name Last Name to Last Name, First Name. Now all of my contacts on my phone are like that way too. Anyway to have Outlook
Nevermind, found out the answer:

Hello,
Here is my problem :
I used to have nokia phone where all my contacts were stored on SIM.
First name and last name were in the "Last name" field.
Now I have a LG KS20 phone and I copied all my contacts from SIM to Contacts.
Now I see only the phone numbers in my contacts because it is checking only for "First Name" field which is empty.
Is there any program I could use to move the "last name" field to the "first name" field for all my contacts?
Please let me know if any other suggestions..
Thanks!
Hello all. We have about 120 Droid 2 Globals deployed across our company using Exchange 2003. For some reason it looks like the phones pull not just the main "Contacts" folder from Outlook, but it also pulls the contact sub-folders.
The issue I am having is that when I try to hide the subfolders in the contacts view on the phone, it is not hiding anything that is in the subfolders.
So for instance, I have 120 Contacts in the "Contacts" folder and another 30 in the "Vendor Contacts" folder. When the phone syncs with Exchange, it pulls all 150 contacts.
In the contacts view I have 150 contacts and when I select the checkbox to "Hide" the "Vendor Contacts" entries, it says "0 Objects Hidden" and they are all still in the list.
This is a bigger issue to some other users because some of them have hundreds if not thousands of contacts that they do not want synched to their phones.
When we were using WM6/6.5 it only pulled the "Contacts" folder so not sure why Android would do it differently.
But if anyone could shed some light on this I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
