HELP: Need to recover data from backup - General Topics

I've backed up my Trinity with Sprite Backup 5.1 before moving on to wm6 But sadly, the backup didn't work on wm6, and when I downgraded back to wm5, it still did not work.
On both wm5 and wm6, i chose to recover only Mail and Personal Databases, so I'm supposed to get my emails, smses, tasks, calendar and contacts back. However, none of my emails and smses appear after the restore and contacts crashes (closes silently) as soon as I run it and calendar says "An unexpected error has occured in this program." and Tasks hangs when I run it (It seems to be running but nothing appears on screen).
I've used Sprite Backup many times in the past and haven't had this problem. I'm desperate to get my stuff back!
And just to mention, I've tried re syncing my information with activesync, but mysteriously AS seems to have not updated my stuff since some time ago even though every sync was a success. Yeah, I know my phone was in a bad condition.

Activesync gone nuts!

I've been synchronizing my i-mate with my laptop since neraly a year (calendar, files, notes etc.) without problems. Suddenly, since yesterday, everytime I try to sync, I get this message: "the following items have never been synchronized before..." and calendar and files are synchronized all over again instead of synchronizing only changed items!!!
Any clues about this strange behavior?
Thanks
Sadly, this does happen at times. Luckily not too often, but it does.
Have you restored a backup (Sprite Backup or similar, perhaps) recently? That almost definitely would have caused it.
Luckily, if you synchronise regularly, doing this "from-scratch" sync shouldn't mess anything up too badly.
Thanks for ur answer. I didn't restore anything, it happened all of a sudden. For the time being, i cancelled file synchronisation and it seems to alleviate the problem.
Thanks again anyway

IPM.Root

How do I get rid of IPM.Root from my inbox? since it appeared I can't find my e-mail.
What in the world is IPM.ROOT?
First, I found a solution for SPB backup users. Make a backup. Hard reset. Perform a partial restore, restoring everything except email. Then rebuild the email from scratch, which for me is just creating a POP3 account.
This gets me up and running pretty quickly, although of course losing any emails, text messages, etc. I had saved. But does anyone know what is causing it? This morning my text message folder was gone, replaced with IPM.ROOT, and there were two outboxes in my POP3 account. It is the second time it has happened to me. Clearly my email had gotten corrupted, but how?
Is there a trick to recreate the folders?
One possibility -- I sync with two computers and yesterday had erased one connection, reinstalled activesync, and created a new connection. That could have been the time the email folder was corrupted.
Does anyone know of another way than having to hard reset the device??

FUZE: Sprite Restore issue with TF3D

So I had to exchange my Fuze last night. Before I went to the store I ran a full backup of the unit with the built in Sprite Backup.
Naturally when I got the new unit I did a restore. Same Stock AT&T Roms on both units.
The first issue I ran into was that all of my applications (after the restore) reported a "Non-Trusted Application error" and would not run at all. I wiped the unit and started over. Before I ran the install I used Advanced Config to disable the Security Warning. After restoring this time, all my apps were fine.
The problem I did find is that the restore did not bring back any of my IMAP gmail accounts that I had on the original unit. Interestingly they show up on the Touch Flow 3D tab as static ghosts. You can flick through the messages that were there, but if you hit Inbox you just get the generic inbox picker screen and the Gmail accounts don't exists.
If I try to rebuild the account identical to what it was, I get an error saying it already exists. I am sure this is because of the Ghost stuck in TF3d.
Anyone know how I can reset TF3D's mail tab to really only reflect the accounts that have been configured in the native WinMo mail app?
Same Trouble Kinda
I am having a similar problem now, problem is it happened before I could install the the package to fix it. Looks Like I have to do a full reset and do what you did and hope it works.
Cheers,
Eidolen

Cannot view Contacts

Hello! I am new here and this gonna be my first post.
My problem was I am unable to get in my contacts. Here's how it happened:
I have XDA II Mini. I usually used Spb Backup to back my programs, etc. I am also fun of installing a lot of apps on it until such time that it was unable to reboot. So I hard reset it and used the Spb Backup. But before restoring the programs, etc., I added some outlook contacts on the phone since I've met emergency by that time. After restoring, all are working fine except for my contacts. I can't get into it anymore.
Please help me!

Pimbackup Issues

my phone had a camera issue (screen went white when taken pic, all settings were lost and it couldnt take panoramic pics) and i hardreset to fix it
that worked , however pimbackup seems not to work 100% messages in convo mode have not imported properly any ideas?
Use Microsoft My Phone with your Windows Live Messenger account....
More simple and everything's perfect ;-)
I'll use it! Cause before I have the same problem with Pimbackup.
i have the same issue... luckily im synced with Windows MyPhone too - which got my stuff back again.
PIM worked fine when making a backup from the HTC Diamond > HD2

I find that when you restore with PIMBackup, if you restore your text messages and have the 'Conversations' option checked then you will have trouble. Rather, uncheck it and have the phone rebuild the conversations itself - takes a few minutes or so and you will have a noticeably slower device for a little while (mine is usually crawling for about 30 minutes - I generally restore around 1000 messages) but your threaded conversations will be preserved.
Also, back when I used my Polaris, I used to kill the messaging process (tmail.exe I think) and kill Manilla and then do the restore, then soft-reset, then enable Manilla again. That method always resulted in perfect restores including conversation threads (4000+ sms). I haven't had to do that with the HD2 but you could try it if you're having no luck after unchecking 'Conversations' in the Text Messages restore part of PIMBackup.
