Jaguar is best!
I 've tested every WM6 ROM out there. None satisfied me. So, decided to go back WM5 AKU 3.3 Generic (without T-Mobile stuff). Perhaps, what I can recommend for WM6 is either 15342 (dogfood) or 1437. So far, these are 2 most stable build by far.
Jaguar *is* the most reliable and stable.

Tried several, only Jaguar is stable, reliable, and doesn't miss calls. (current rev. is Jaguar 2).
ICTDifrentie ROM
I love the ICTDifrentie.NL rom.
its fast smart and easy to use
Greats Antonius
I have NBD 9.2 rom but these days there is no new Rom from NBD so hoping for a new release.
Let me throw in my vote for Jaguar as well. It has been very responsive and I haven't encountered any problems yet.
once again the same newbie question.
People please...
The best ROM is the one which fits your own needs.
Please read on the forum, research a little bit about Cook's preferences and style and look which one suits your own need..
Mods shall we delete this thread please???
The one that works the best for my needs is.....
Hello all,
Yes, these threads pop up about every other day or so.... and while they might get tiresome for the old hats and gurus here, it's still nice to collect a smattering of opinions as to where the user community might be leaning regarding what rom base, touch or no touch, HTC Home or HTC NOT Home, overclocking, memory free, performance, battery usage, etc... and while this is extremely specific to the device and flash method(s) used as well as the applications loaded and a slew of other factors, it is still just a loose "hold your finger to the wind" type of thing that is still interesting....
Myself? I always look to see what the latest info is on the NBD, TNT, and TNE fronts.... and when it comes time, I usually end up trying all three as well as throwing in Mfrazz and others when I see something new from them... All in all, every one of them has occupied my rom for months at a time....
Right now I'm running TNT.1457 and everything works... the apps I have bog it down a bit and I don't use Touch or HTC Home.... the memory usage is pretty good with ~21 MB free after all my Today plugins and such are loaded... battery life is a little scary but that's the way I use my phone... a Cingular 8125.... I see NBD X has come out.... been drooling just thinking about it....
So the best ROM for My Usage? I lean towards NBD and TNT the most... they seem to match my usage patterns of my phone the best....
My $.02 (and I'll probably get change)

Which do you prefer and why?
I am mainly concerned with speed and stability, so I am not sure which would be the better option or if it there would really be any difference seeing as they both use the same base.
I've tried both and they're both fast and stable with excellent features. To me it's kinda like a choice between a BMW or Mercedes. You can't go wrong with either so I'd read the features built into each and pick the one with the most appealing set up. Schap's has a great feature set, but Dutty always seems to come out with something new
Flash one for a day and play with it. Then flash the other for a day. Use a good back up like PPCPimBackup and restoring you're contacts and info is easy. You'll just have to customize your settings again. But that's just a good way to learn the ins and outs of your phone. Just have fun
They both are great ROM's. So it comes down to preference and what you need and want in your phone. Like Charlie said, you kinda can't go wrong. They both are WAY better than the stock ROM.
jb
A benchmark test would help. Like charlie said, Dutty throws in some extra goodies. It doesnt hurt to try them both out.

Which car is better BMW or Mercedes?
Always the same... everyone gives you another answer.
Just try them and find out which meets your requirements most.
I have been loving both ROms myself and think same as you guys reference speed and stability but there are a few things better with Dutty
Dutty's Roms doesnt have as many progs as schaps, adobe lite, i hate that app and use other ebook readers and some other progs that you would hardly use so i think dutty gets the win for me here..
come to think of it, schaps has been cooking roms b4 dutty and dutty gave him props because he learnt alot from schaps. there you have it make your pick, students normally perfect wat they have been taught and beat the teachers....lol

Very nice answer
Flashing Shaps' now, will give you an answer soon...
Wait a minute, why aren't YOU doing the same thing?!
Seriously though, both are great, I use Shaps at the moment cause it has build-in VoIP, but Dutty's stuff is flat out awesome, too!
Either way you win.
H.
Tried most ROMs out there and I kept on changing. Re-flashing is the least expensive way to feel like you got a new phone.
Schaps has cooked great ROMs and still however, Dutty ROMs are always on the cutting edge of "Most Recent", "Advanced", and he's always participating, answering questions and spending his valuable time on this forum. I would not buy a Benz or a BMW if I have to wait numerous days for service. Posting a ROM and expecting people to test, I would think support should be also available. Thank god for the great guys here in this forum that spend the time to explain ways out of trouble for the many noobeez in here ( like myself). Without the testers, I would be, among others, lost.
I am currently testing Duttys V3 Final. Let me say this, it is by far the best ROM for the Tilts I have, so far. Stable, Robust and does not eat up battery.

If you are mainly concerned with speed and stability then I don't know how you can't throw Alex's Ultra Clean ROM into the mix. Honestly I haven't tried all the others yet, but I have been extremely happy with the UC rom by Alex. If anything, it has to be the fastest one out there, and in the past 5 days I don't think I have reset more than once or twice for a reason other than an install.
No offense to the other developers, I just have a bias towards super clean ROM's and not relying on what someone else thinks that I should have in a ROM... but that's just me.
I say, GOGO DUTTY

I agree. I've tried quite a few other ROMS and always come back to Alex's. I wish dutty and schap would make their roms easer to add and remove programs/features via the ROM kitchen.
Schap's v4.3 Rom is very stable and most improtantly it does look like an orignal HTC Rom espcially when u start ur phone.no dutty's series..etc

No, that would be Porche...
Personally Ive tried both ROMS, and they are both a vast improvement over stock - especially since stock for me was in Czech, and Im not quite that fluent Right now I'm using Dutty's V3 which seems to be the best so far but if Schaps releases a new one tomorrow I'd probably switch to just check it out.
For me the decision not to try too many other ROMs is just time - these two get great reviews and both work great for me, but I don't have the time try the others that have come out recently.
Matthew
I've tried most of them and I find myself flashing back to Schap's since 4.22. I gave v3 a shot but did not find it to be as quick or clean as 4.30 w/ 32mb.PP IMO.
I am anxious for Schap's lite and Adv Config 2.0 to be released!
Just because of Adv Config I am a Schap's fan.

I can't completely agree on this.
There are some facts you can compare which can be very important to the user, for instance the 'fuel economy in automobiles' (the batterylife of the kaiser)...
What about a duel boot
It may sound crazy, but that way ppl would not have to take a chance on screwing up all their settings. My vote if I had to choose is Dutty’s roms. He is always cooking and I have never had anything I didn’t like, before he served another course.
Personal preference over feel, battery life, responsiveness, base apps/utilities etc etc etc
I ran some benchmarks on the two but I'm not at liberty to share the results as they were just for my customization of PagePool+MaxCache settings.

Hi guys,
I'd like to try a custom ROM again, but with the almost 100s available I'd rather ask the question - I'm looking for a normal standard Raphael ROM with just the standard apps on as it came out on the Raphael.
So basicly just a straight dump from Raphael HTC rom to go onto a Kaiser (with the neccesary tweaks of course to make it work). No other personalised apps, schemes, etc etc.
Are there something like this?
You probably can port a ROM from Raphael.

Well seeing as how the Raphael has TF3D, that narrows your search down to about 2 ROMS L26 V4 or -G-'s SE TF3D! But if you are looking for simple and easy for daily use without alot of tweaking you are not going to want TF3D! I would go with -G-'s SE TF2D or Hyperdragon Raphael build! You are going to get alot of suggetions because ROMs are different for each person, the easy thing to do is ask but the best thing to do is try them out and gain valuable exp for yourself!

what do you think?

There are two types of people here, those that like flashing new ROMs every chance they get, and if I were a psychiatrist, I would diagnose those with ADD ( Attention Deficit Disorder candidates), and those that want a stable ROM that they would show it off to their friends, and keep it for a long time; a ROM that is reliable and fast and has many programs. The first type of people are adventurous however when they flash a new ROM, and if it glitches a bit, they get frustrated and wished they would have stayed with their previous ROM. BUT they go on and try other ROMs for hopes they come across one that is even better than their previous one they liked.
So which person are you? do you intend to flash often for the sake of flashing or you just want one that has most user programs and looks somewhat good? OK ... let us know and we'll guide you then toward the "Ultimate" ROM that would satisfies your curiosity and fits your personality.
To be honest, I've tried all Dutty's, L26, Hyperdragon, PDACorner, Garmin (3 editions) and I'm still unable to choose one !
When he was active Dutty was the best, but now all these ROMs are just beautiful, and I've been flashing for a couple of days, and still unable to make my choice.
It becomes frustrating at the end, because our Chefs are so great that they release a new ROM each week...
As someone said before (forgot who, sorry)

Hehe, very true! I've done the ROM hopping on the Kaiser and previous Vox, but is now more after the stable quick easy-to-use one ;-) Hence i actually moved back to a standard HTC ROM (but there's still that customization side that needs tickling...)

I always tend to flash that rom too, and then the cycle starts over again flashing over and over again. I can't go a weak without trying something different!

I wouldn't completely classify myself in the first category, as I know quite what I want and I know it isn't there yet. I love M3D roms and I do enjoy packing it full of features and everything. I have run L26's M3D rom for a while, and I just tried -G-'s for a day yesterday. But then many times those roms have enough issues pop up that make the phone basically unusable, and then I will back track to either a M2D rom, or even a HTC Home rom just for speed, stability, and in the case of the HTC Home roms, flawless landscape support. Then after a week or two, I start looking at the M3D roms again, hoping that there have been some fixes and work arounds and I start trying it again, and the cycle goes again!
And for what you mentioned about wishing to put the previous rom on there...Norton Ghost would be a great product for these phones!
Jason

the best way to find out is to try them yourself. I've had good luck with the RRE series of roms, and aruppenthal is quick to resolve issues, or pretty much anything.

i've personally tried elite romeos and rre
romeos had horrifying battery life and was not fast
elite was generally mediocre (I tried this when i first got the fuze the week it came out)
RRE seems fast + stable since I installed it 2 days ago
There are lots of good fast roms, try reading the first couple posts of each rom and seeing which one sounds as thought it meets your needs. If you don't like it, then try another one. As is don't with all "best/fastest/coolest roms" threads, this one is closed.
Which are (reasonably) stable naked/lite, without M2D and/or M3D ROMs. I am not asking which are better than other or any other kind of comparision. I am just asking, which ROM do you think is (reasonably) stable. I just just want to flash and try a few.
Thanks.

Well, opinions can be allowed, I guess.
Here's mine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496555 - using the naked version and am lovin' it. Very stable and fast 6.1 ROM.
I am still not into 6.5 as the bells and whistles seem to be more in that than actual substance.

Stable one for me, wont be stable for you! It all depends on what you use your phone for and where you live! Best way to find out is keep flashing...
I'm heavy phone user - from 30 to 70 phone calls (from 1min to 25-30min per call) per day, up to 10 synch with exchange, few sms messages... Most stable ROM (I'm always returning to it) for me is Nothrills wm6.1 rom. No dropped calls, no missed calls, working wi fi... but, you cant install M3D over it, youtube mobile won't work - but you can use streaming media instead. I've upgraded only radio to 1.65.21.18 because it has better rill and can read correctly cell tower Id's. I've tried dozens and dozens of roms, but this one is the best for me. Its god damn uber stable, and fast. If you install it, install device update and download new htc home and few minor upgrades.
Please see my ROM comment here. Basically same as what you got from others.
The answer is : depend on what you use it for, and how you use it. Some ROM's might perform better according to your pattern of usage. The quest is further made complicated that once you found the ROM, you need to find which Radio & SPL that works best .. now, some seemingly less stable ROM could get very stable once you change the SPL/Radio ..
I still, at the end, suggest you give it a try, after reading some comments from the latest version of each ROM.
Asfoor told me, one AT&T OEM ROM (RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.8 8.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe) is very stable, and if you soft reset when it starts autoconfiguring and installing additional AT&T bloatwares, you'd get a lean, mean and stable ROM. However, I have not tried myself.
As has been said, this is subjective. Also, the ROM dev forum is not the ROM recommendations forum. Please try some of the suggestions everyone has kindly posted already.
Thanks
Dave
