Which are lite/naked stable 6.1 and 6.5 ROMs - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Which are (reasonably) stable naked/lite, without M2D and/or M3D ROMs. I am not asking which are better than other or any other kind of comparision. I am just asking, which ROM do you think is (reasonably) stable. I just just want to flash and try a few.
Thanks.

this rom is is so far the most stable and fastest windows mobile 6.5 rom ive used...

Seriously, you need to read. Almost all the ROMs out here will tell you what all it has in it!

I have the same question. Been reading and reading but still want to know which one has been found to be most stable. Thanks for the question and the reply.

No one will tell you which one is the most stable, there's only one way, flash and check the one you like

Well, opinions can be allowed, I guess.
Here's mine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496555 - using the naked version and am lovin' it. Very stable and fast 6.1 ROM.
I am still not into 6.5 as the bells and whistles seem to be more in that than actual substance.

Stable one for me, wont be stable for you! It all depends on what you use your phone for and where you live! Best way to find out is keep flashing...

I'm heavy phone user - from 30 to 70 phone calls (from 1min to 25-30min per call) per day, up to 10 synch with exchange, few sms messages... Most stable ROM (I'm always returning to it) for me is Nothrills wm6.1 rom. No dropped calls, no missed calls, working wi fi... but, you cant install M3D over it, youtube mobile won't work - but you can use streaming media instead. I've upgraded only radio to 1.65.21.18 because it has better rill and can read correctly cell tower Id's. I've tried dozens and dozens of roms, but this one is the best for me. Its god damn uber stable, and fast. If you install it, install device update and download new htc home and few minor upgrades.

Please see my ROM comment here. Basically same as what you got from others.
The answer is : depend on what you use it for, and how you use it. Some ROM's might perform better according to your pattern of usage. The quest is further made complicated that once you found the ROM, you need to find which Radio & SPL that works best .. now, some seemingly less stable ROM could get very stable once you change the SPL/Radio ..
I still, at the end, suggest you give it a try, after reading some comments from the latest version of each ROM.
Asfoor told me, one AT&T OEM ROM (RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.8 8.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe) is very stable, and if you soft reset when it starts autoconfiguring and installing additional AT&T bloatwares, you'd get a lean, mean and stable ROM. However, I have not tried myself.

As has been said, this is subjective. Also, the ROM dev forum is not the ROM recommendations forum. Please try some of the suggestions everyone has kindly posted already.
Thanks
Dave

Best clean and stable rom?

Hi all, Im normally over at the Atrtemis forums but here on the hunt.
Ive read a few pages but they all feature custom roms.
Im after a Wizard WM6 rom for the wife so it has to be clean and super stable. All the roms ive found so far have touchflow or some other stuff that she really wont need.
So who can recommend a good stable close to factory rom with just the fixes it needs. Ill hack the reg myself.

Why dont you give a try to my ROM? See my Signature mate
nobody can tell you what you have to choose, test it yourself.
I personally found that making my own ROM with the tools here was the best option. I've tried just about every ROM here (except See No Evil and Syndicate) and found that my own creation is fast, stable, and has exactly what I want and need in it.
Click on the link in my signature and build it yourself. It's VERY easy! If I can figure it out, a monkey can.
tested nbd v7.4 and it runs a bit slow, but i'm running now nbd.v7.3.cf and it's very stable and fast

That was actually pretty funny. Instead of making it just for Steam forums they should have made it generic to forum posting...then we could make it an introductory training video on every web forum!

which is best Rom out there

Can some one suggest which Rom out there is the most stable and fastest eg: NBD 9.2 or Octavia 5 etc
i think the best way is to test urself

Jaguar is best!
I 've tested every WM6 ROM out there. None satisfied me. So, decided to go back WM5 AKU 3.3 Generic (without T-Mobile stuff). Perhaps, what I can recommend for WM6 is either 15342 (dogfood) or 1437. So far, these are 2 most stable build by far.
Jaguar *is* the most reliable and stable.

ICTDifrentie ROM
I love the ICTDifrentie.NL rom.
its fast smart and easy to use
Greats Antonius
I have NBD 9.2 rom but these days there is no new Rom from NBD so hoping for a new release.
Let me throw in my vote for Jaguar as well. It has been very responsive and I haven't encountered any problems yet.
once again the same newbie question.

Please read on the forum, research a little bit about Cook's preferences and style and look which one suits your own need..

Hello all,
Yes, these threads pop up about every other day or so.... and while they might get tiresome for the old hats and gurus here, it's still nice to collect a smattering of opinions as to where the user community might be leaning regarding what rom base, touch or no touch, HTC Home or HTC NOT Home, overclocking, memory free, performance, battery usage, etc... and while this is extremely specific to the device and flash method(s) used as well as the applications loaded and a slew of other factors, it is still just a loose "hold your finger to the wind" type of thing that is still interesting....
Myself? I always look to see what the latest info is on the NBD, TNT, and TNE fronts.... and when it comes time, I usually end up trying all three as well as throwing in Mfrazz and others when I see something new from them... All in all, every one of them has occupied my rom for months at a time....
Right now I'm running TNT.1457 and everything works... the apps I have bog it down a bit and I don't use Touch or HTC Home.... the memory usage is pretty good with ~21 MB free after all my Today plugins and such are loaded... battery life is a little scary but that's the way I use my phone... a Cingular 8125.... I see NBD X has come out.... been drooling just thinking about it....
So the best ROM for My Usage? I lean towards NBD and TNT the most... they seem to match my usage patterns of my phone the best....
My $.02 (and I'll probably get change)

Whose ROM are you using and why?

SORRY I LEFT OUT Q-MOBILE! If you're using it or another unlisted custom ROM, just choose "other" and then post below to specify which ROM you're using.
In fact, even if you choose a specific "chef," please specify WHICH version/variation you're using and WHY.
I'm currently on Dutty #6 - tried #7, but I didn't find it quite as good. Waiting for 8! I might try other people's ROMs at some point, but that's partly why I asked this question - I want to know whose ROMs are most popular and why. Fast? Stable? Clean? Useful?
Dutty's Rom
I am using Dutty's Tilt Rom...uh on my tilt. It seems very stable and I have a bunch of apps running. It's been about 2 weeks and so far so good.
The only problem with loading one of dutty's rom's is that he never sleeps so you get addicted to flashing your Kaiser.: eek:

I've got to agree with you... I'm addicted now. But which version are you using?
I'm using Dutty's latest No. 7. For me, his ROMs have been very stable and fast.
XDA Live v1.2. I like the design goal of maximizing storage space and only installing what I want. It's almost like cooking my own rom, but much easier.
I'm using Dutty's No. 6 Lite HTC ROM.
I always want to have a clean, fast and stable ROM. I was running CUSTEL v2.1 first, but decided to turn to Dutty's ROMs because he has LOTS of updates! (I like flashing )
Maybe (if possible) you should add Q-Mobile ROM to the poll! I looks like an interesting ROM.

Sorry Q!!!
Dutty's ATT touchflow ROM.
Full featured, has many of the extras already built in, minus that AT&T bloat crap. It runs very well for me.

No problem, besides...having just posted it last night the adoption rate would take a while anyway--and thats assuming people like it.
Was using Dutty's Tilt-Touchflo Beta but I ran into some issues and now I'm trying out Q's. Looks good so far, fast, stable.
XDA-Live 1.2 for me. It's very stable, everything works like it's supposed to, and I like how streamlined and fast it is. I wanted an ATT Tilt specific ROM, and of those choices, this one works the smoothest. I like to be able to customize what apps are on there too.

Agreed. This is my current cooked ROM of choice after using 5 superb ROMS. Check it out. Simple, lightweight, fast and stable (for at least a full day of use)
Hat's off to all the chefs!
Currently using Dutty Touchflo 2 final non tilt edition on my tilt..... its the best for me till now... gave the no. 6 touchflo rom a try, but it was severely crippling my Tilt with random occasional freezing.... I am very happy with Touchflo 2.... its uber-fast and I simply love its freaky-fast responsiveness.....
i am using Helmi_C since day one, tried different ROM but i ended up going back, it's old, but it's quick, fast and big storage! most of all, it's quite stable and no problem whatsoever!

I should have agreed with you a few weeks ago. Helmi_c had a very nice and stable ROM for a long time.
I've used Dutty's ROMs and CUSTEL ROMS but I still think Helmi_C had the best ROM for a long time.
Today I flashed Q-Mobile 1.0 ROM and I gives me the "Helmi_C" feeling!
It's clean, fast and seems to be stable! I think I'll stick with this one. (At least for a couple of days )
XDA Live 1.2
So far so good with this ROM. I didn't want to screw around with a non-at&t variant because I'm a noob. I loaded some SPB software and iGO for GPS and it's running great. There's loads of storage available since the ROM is smaller.
As far as stability goes, it works well enough when I reset every couple of days. Sometimes there are random freezes when it is unresponsive but these have gone down a bit since I figured out installing everything to the device works best. I had one SOD a couple nights ago when screwing around with finger-friendly friends but only that once. For now I am just going to use the stock contact supplemented with SPB contacts on Today.
The reason I plan on sticking with this ROM is that I figure Kyphur has a good chance of getting it completely stable easier than a ROM with a bunch of programs. It's already blazing fast and the radio version works well for me so far.
Q-Mobile 1.0 here - I've tried every rom, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Q-Mobile just seems to fit nicely in with what I expect the device to do, and how I think it should look. Fast, stable, no bugs that I've found, and a nice set of default apps.
I hate to reply to this one since it should be up to you to read up on it and try it out. But then again you want instant gratification so here DUTTY's rom no.6 or later. Why? Because no one else has put forth more time and effort into releasing these roms than he has and not to leave out his beta tester community too.
I'm not sure what it is, but I got that weird freezing on every rom I tried out. Right now, I'm using Alex cook your own rom and that is causing freezing, too. Any roms out there that don't have that freezing problem? I think its a normal thing cause the base rom.

Recommend a ROM

So I've had my Kaiser a while now and I think it's time to flash the ROM for something a little faster. I have it from Orange and at present, it still has the original Orange ROM on it, I'm after something fairly basic that will speed things up, what would you recommend?
I have been using Duttys 6.1 UC version and its great... but I guess different folks will give you different thoughts and ideas...
Dear AndyCr15, the first thing u need to check is that whether ur phone has hardSPL and CID unlock then you'll be able to flash new roms which are not from original carrier or manufacturer.
Duttys 6.1 rom is the most widespread rom in this forum currently, cause you can change the system to whatever you want cause it have a lot of features that give you ability to fully control your using.
In my opinion, if you want just a fast rom, UDK 7.0 R2 is worth a try. I dont say it is the best but I think it is the stable and fast rom so far I've been used.
Then you can consider Schap rom. In fact I've never tried his rom before, but I can tell it is also a good rom.
As well as the roms I recommended, you can flash DCS roms too. However, I foun it working a bit slower than the others. The rest of KAISER roms are Alex, XTRM, Sleuth, Q-mobile, L26 V5 (this rom looks cool) etc.
Now, it is your choice, you can try all of them and pick the one you like the best. Gudluck, I hope this help
My suggestion is you try a few and see what you like. You will truly get 20 different answers on this question. It's like asking what is the best dessert. Do you want 6.0 or 6.1? What apps do you want? Do you want all inclusive or a lite ROM and install all of your own Cabs.
Try a version of Alex's - he has a ton of versions based upon what you might want. Try Q-Mobile, which is a fast and lite ROM (a little older than the others now, but still very, very good). Try Dutty's - he has a lot of fans.
Also try searching - there are about 100 threads with this question.

Too many ROMS to choose from!

Hi guys,
I'd like to try a custom ROM again, but with the almost 100s available I'd rather ask the question - I'm looking for a normal standard Raphael ROM with just the standard apps on as it came out on the Raphael.
So basicly just a straight dump from Raphael HTC rom to go onto a Kaiser (with the neccesary tweaks of course to make it work). No other personalised apps, schemes, etc etc.
Are there something like this?
You probably can port a ROM from Raphael.

Well seeing as how the Raphael has TF3D, that narrows your search down to about 2 ROMS L26 V4 or -G-'s SE TF3D! But if you are looking for simple and easy for daily use without alot of tweaking you are not going to want TF3D! I would go with -G-'s SE TF2D or Hyperdragon Raphael build! You are going to get alot of suggetions because ROMs are different for each person, the easy thing to do is ask but the best thing to do is try them out and gain valuable exp for yourself!

There are two types of people here, those that like flashing new ROMs every chance they get, and if I were a psychiatrist, I would diagnose those with ADD ( Attention Deficit Disorder candidates), and those that want a stable ROM that they would show it off to their friends, and keep it for a long time; a ROM that is reliable and fast and has many programs. The first type of people are adventurous however when they flash a new ROM, and if it glitches a bit, they get frustrated and wished they would have stayed with their previous ROM. BUT they go on and try other ROMs for hopes they come across one that is even better than their previous one they liked.
So which person are you? do you intend to flash often for the sake of flashing or you just want one that has most user programs and looks somewhat good? OK ... let us know and we'll guide you then toward the "Ultimate" ROM that would satisfies your curiosity and fits your personality.
To be honest, I've tried all Dutty's, L26, Hyperdragon, PDACorner, Garmin (3 editions) and I'm still unable to choose one !
When he was active Dutty was the best, but now all these ROMs are just beautiful, and I've been flashing for a couple of days, and still unable to make my choice.
It becomes frustrating at the end, because our Chefs are so great that they release a new ROM each week...

I wouldn't completely classify myself in the first category, as I know quite what I want and I know it isn't there yet. I love M3D roms and I do enjoy packing it full of features and everything. I have run L26's M3D rom for a while, and I just tried -G-'s for a day yesterday. But then many times those roms have enough issues pop up that make the phone basically unusable, and then I will back track to either a M2D rom, or even a HTC Home rom just for speed, stability, and in the case of the HTC Home roms, flawless landscape support. Then after a week or two, I start looking at the M3D roms again, hoping that there have been some fixes and work arounds and I start trying it again, and the cycle goes again!
And for what you mentioned about wishing to put the previous rom on there...Norton Ghost would be a great product for these phones!
Jason
