The english rom is fine for me... but i can't read chinese words and text in chinese...

first of all, you've done a great job on the updated WM6 ROMs. but as of now, those who use english interface and need to read and compose chinese occasionally have dilema on which ROM to choose. the only available one is WWE you released some time ago but it is quite outdated and buggy.
we are requesting for you to release an updated version on WWE where users can have the best of both worlds (English interface + chinese language support like those found in original dopod 577w) including bug fixes such as camera, GPRS issues, Wifi, comm manager, etc. i like the fact that much of the UI is untouched with no fancy clocks or bars in the old WWE build.

Just install Ce-star2.8 for Sp on top of andot's perfect version. That is what did.
I downloaded Cestar2.8, but when i install it said that my phone has already installed with the software, need to uninstall it first....but the issue is i never installed the software ...

Don't know what is your problem. I installed it smoothly and now after nearly a month it still is working good.
P.S the WWE version has a terrible interface. The font is much uglier. I prefer the perfect english version.
Finally i can read chinese words and sms in chinese after searching up and low... but now there is a minor issue with the wording on top of the bar when navigate to the menu, programs and submenu (ie Start, Messaging...).
Is there anyway i can over come this?
ps: Currenly i'm using the simyou.ttf font with some registry modification..

Problem solved... now the title font has been changed back to the default font...

I managed to get T9 working, but I only see boxes, which means that the font is not installed properly, so I did some registry changes to include some font, but still I see boxes
This seems weird, eventhough I see boxes, but my T9 Stroke and T9 Pinyin are opposite, stroke is pinyin and vice versa

This is what i did:
1. copy simyou.ttf to \windows\fonts in my phone
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontPath]

2. copy segoe.ttf and segoeb.ttf to \windows\fonts
3. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontPath]

4. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\Sys temLink]
"Segoe Condensed"="\windows\Fonts\simyou.ttf,YouYuan"
5. reboot my phone

There's a couple different HTC Touch keyboard/keypad .cabs floating about, but so far none with full support for my own language (Norwegian). I am a total newb when it comes to making cabs, but since there's already cabs out there with other linguas I can hardly believe it will be very difficult to make a cab with a few spesific languages.
So, here's deal. I will paypal this awesome bounty of 15$ aka "beer money" (not much but I'm unemployed, broke, my fiancé of 8 years and I just decided we'll go separate ways AND I'm horribly bored ) to the person who can make a .cab that installs the HTC Touch keyboard/keypad + English and Norwegian xt9 (additional languages might be an idea, but moderation please if you're really feeling like making a killer cab, size matters too) and so forth and makes it work on a Kaiser.
I will of course expect this .cab to be offered to the public through these forums.

I have tried to do fix that, I got a oem package with the norwegian files, even the scandinavian layout is in it.
But I have had no success, im no coder
But I upped the package, and if any guru will look into it, that would help alot
It must be pretty basic stuff, I figured I can make it work myself simply by some creative renaming and overwriting files on a previous install from one of the existing cabs, but its hardly viable when you flash your phone every week
Think I did it
I have managed to make an installable cab with english, danish, norwegian and swedish HTC Keyboard + Keypad layout, and with working xt9/t9 dictionaries. I have installed it on my own HTC Touch (P3450) and tested all four languages with success. When nordic languages are chosen, the keyboard (not keypad) have the nordic letters on them, so the bitmap files should be right as well.

i dunno how to explain this correctly, but in textwriting æøå works (in keyboard) but when opening them ouside like in.ex programs folder, it show only english qwerty, any suggestions?

Keyboard has ä (FN + L) and ö (FN + o).
I updated Rom to Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31 ROMs WWE and then ä and ö keys stopped working! help

When i download that will my 16 work ok, but i have usede some cab's before but when my hardware keyboard on my dual write letters wrong when i press 2 i got e not a

Ok, this is what I've done:
Installed (in this order)
Scandanavian Keyboard.CAB
-Soft reset
Nordic Keypad Mapping.cab
-Soft reset
XDA_JCEspi2005_Norwegian_Input_Kaiser.cab
-Soft reset
Now the SIP keyboard layout are OK with æøå - working fine. I Had to install XDA_JCEspi2005_Norwegian_Input_Kaiser.cab to get my hardware keyboard right.
This issue remains: Word Completion is still in english. Any fix for that?
Also in Duttys newest ROM, the Touch Keyboard and Touch Keypad are without the Norwegian letters. Any cabs for this?

Try this: Change Curlang to 414 (414 Hex, 1044 Dec). Search up Curlang in youre register (should be in: HKLM/Hardware/Devicemap/Keybd), Soft Reset. DONE! Youre Keyboard is now supporting ÆØÅ and all the oter keys and so on, just as you were use to on Norwegian Shipped/Stok Roms.

I have just flashed Duttys May 22 ROM, and no ÆØÅ on the software keyboard. Any fix for this? (Will also post this in Duttys new thread)

Solution! German Keyboard / "Umlaute" (Fn+Space) working with english 6.1 !!!
Ok guys and girls,
the title may sound like i know what I'm doing, but I'm a noob to all of this after all. Still I managed to get the "Umlaut"-function (Fn + Space) working on an english 6.1 ROM. The ROM running my German TYTN II is L26_KaiserDiamond_V9.
Ok, so here's what I did:
1. set Keyboard layout to "German" in AdvancedConfig
2. changed value of registry key HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang from 409 to 407
3. installed XDA_JCEspi2005_German_Input_Kaiser.cab (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345426)
4. copied the file "sym.0409.txt" (located in DEVICE \Windows), renamed the copy to "sym.0407.txt"
et voilá!
I guess step 4 is what did the trick... even though I still can't believe that the solution was this simple. Someone else give it a try... maybe on a different ROM. Would be cool if this was the definitive solution.

Notice: For me this only works with the Hardware keyboard (L26_KaiserDiamond_V9). If someone knows a method to change the software keyboard (Windows Default) it would be very nice.

after 2 softresets it works also for me, but also only the hardware keyboard. for the software keyboard i take pcmkeyboard.
You can also try those 2 in combination, works and is a little bit easier ;-)

as I stated, this reactivates the "Fn+Space"-Umlaute on your keyboard.
no idea why one would think that this has any affect on the softkeyboard... but here's the suprising solution for you: install a german softkeyboard! i'm sure you'll find one on xda-devs.

And then HKCU/MUI/CurLang 409 changed to 407 (Hexadecimal).

And then softreset again.

then give this one a try. As many different KB layouts as you could wish for, including national characters (although only 2 at a time, switch-able by a key next to R-ALt). @ the mo, I'm using Polish and Norwegian.

And YES, it IS skinnable.
DL a trial version, give it a shot, see for yourself.
With me I can now type fn + space but the Y is a Z and vice versa

Easyest way to do this:
With a Registry Editor, search and edit the key to the following value:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
"CurLang"=dword:00020407

The patch doesn't work for me, changed nothing :hmm:
What did the trick was
Regedit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
"CurLang"=dword:00020409 to 00020407 for German, other language see here
Install Jespis German/language cab http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1673274&postcount=2
Result is qwertz and after vocale Fn+Space = "Umlaut" + German dictionary

i know the keyboard layout problem has been discussed a few times already, and i know the solutions, but it seems like i need an additional dll / registry "hack" to get it to work. ive installed the Lite rom v1.4.5. by luca15thebig, it's an english rom with qwerty keyboard layout, but i'd need the german layout. so i've tried the hints given on other threads on wizard forum but they didnt change anything. so ive looked into the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\] key in the registry, but theres only the layout code for US keyboard layout (*0409) theres only two entries with 0409 at the end but none like *0407. so, is there a cab / registry hack to get it back working? thanks in advance

thats what i did did not work, i guess i'd need the kbdde.dll or whatever it is called (is kbdus.dll in qwerty layout)
alright, i fixed it just installed Schaps Advanced Config and set the keyboard layout right on the misc tab

Looking through a lot of threads for quite some time but cannot find a hack to switch the hardware keyboard mapping from qwerty to azerty.
The WM 6.1 method doens't seem to work for WM6.5...any ideas?

Thanks, but that is the WM 6.1 method I think.
There is no such key in my "WM 6.5 by MEDKIT" rom installation.
If I create it and fill in the value still same qwerty mapping.

Yepp that works fine on 6.5 roms. I used it to switch Joshs 6.5 rom from qwerty to qwertz.
Weird! I tried both:
XDA_JCEspi2005_French_Input_Kaiser.cab and XDA_JCEspi2005_Dutch_Input_Kaiser.cab but my hardware keyboard mapping didn't change at all.
My ROM is MedKit's WM 6.5 rom...
This same method did work on my previous roms though (WM 6.1 and below).
What 6.5 ROM do you people (who succesfully switched hardware keyboard mapping) use?
Maybe I'm going to try another ROM or so.

I only know of the CurLang change but in the medkit rom I even had to add a Curlang variable if I wanted to change it.
And which of those 2 ROMs do you prefer? Haven't tried the one from Josh yet but maybe I should.

After changing those two keys, softresetting and installing the cab resulting in another softreset I get my qwertz keyboard layout.
And you should really try Joshs rom. Build 21193 is so muich faster than previous ones

Just tried Joshs 21193 and it is indeed very fast.
But since I noticed there's even an 21198 by Anryl I'm flashing again to check that rom's speed. Once I start installing my crap I won't feel like flashing another rom for a few weeks so better make sure to try to have the best rom now.
21198 also is quite fast so sticking to that one. Changed the to reg values which I could find in this rom as opposed to the medit rom I tried yesterday and changing them did fix my hardware keyboard to azerty.
