WM9 Codecs in WM6 Integrated - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Can someone shed some light on how to integrate the codecs from WM9 into WM6. I'm not sure what files are needed or how to get them. I'm working on a build of 15342, but I'm not getting anywhere because of this issue.

do you have a way to test this? others have said the same thing, but i've never experienced these issues with muns latest build.

is there a cab for this?
from there its possibe to make a package

WM6 and URGE Music service

Interesting find for anyone that uses URGE subscription music service (Windows Media Player 11). I had got real used to playing music on the Wizard while work in the yard or whatever, I have been running Faria's 3.3 ROM for several weeks at least. So this morning I take the plunge and upgrade to Faria's WM6 ROM, works great! Except URGE doens't recognize WM6 as a valid device (WM5 ONLY) so now all my subscription music won't play or sync. The songs I ripped from CD work fine, just not the downloaded protected WMA files.
I don't expect anyone to have a fix or suggestion for this as it's an issue with URGE and not the ROM, just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I think somewhere in Farias post on the wm6 rom it said something like "and turn off DRM" i have posted Faria for help in turning it back on let you know as soon as i know
Yup. Same problem here.
See my post down the page a bit...
bump -- this should be easy!
bump -- anyone know any more about this?
it works in Faria's last ROM
Faria's ROM kitchen has the DRM module included and if you select it during the build process your music will play.
Thanks Faria for that inclusion..

List of A2DP supported ROM's

Hallo.
I guess, here is a lot of users (me too), which would like to use their WM6 Wizards with Bluetooth stereo headset.
Big problem in WM6 is support of A2DP profile, as everybody know, it's important for correct function of Wizi with BT stereo HS. Everybody wants to have a good sound without skipping.
So You can help to this users, if You will write to this thread, which WM6 ROM is 100% working with A2DP profile and You can note Your own experiences.
Thank You! Cheerz.
Good thread.
One reason I am still sticking with Faria's Real Thing rom is the fact that A2DP works fine.
Dont know about the other Roms.
Forgot to put in, I use Jabra BT8010.
Pandora1.10 supports my SouthWing SA505 flawlessly...
No patches needed.
Anything built with the current Pandoras Box Kitchen using 17913 build ROM doesn't work with A2DP. The rom before this .960 or similar - all these WM6 (unless purposefully removed) work with A2DP.
Core 2.0n
I am using Core 2.0n and A2DP is working.
It needs a little tweak to increase the sound quality. Changing registry values like bitpool and others is required.
Core 1.1 also supported A2DP, which sounded great without any tweaks at all.
I have tried several 5.2.1413 roms but none supported A2DP, even with patches.
I will try the latest pandora shortly and comment about the experience.
I use Motorola HT820.
I got Pandora1.05 to support A2DP with the attached patches, but Pandora1.10 supported it "right out of the box"
Hi edgardito,
I am using Core 2.0 but I got the hissing problem, may I know what are the settings you are using? Problem is, I am using an Itech Clip s35

I had a same problem with this ROM.. poor sound quality and skipping every 15 sec. Tommorow I'll try it with Pandora 01.10 ROM and will see if it's better or not. I hope, it will be allright as You wrote.
Can You edit this Your topic and write there your solution with important change of registry values? Thanx!
Problem
Hi.
Today I've been trying Nokia BT stereo headset with this 01.10 ROM in my Wizi. Pairing run normally, but headset profile didn't start and WMP played with phone speaker only. I hadn't this prob with other ROM, for ex. Core 2.0n.
Can anybody advise me? Thanx!
NBD
Yesterday I had tried NBD (Not Big Deal) 6.1. The sound wasn't so good, but when I used Hardcore's reg fixies UseJointStereo and SampleRate, sound was quite good (no excelent) without hissing and skipping.
I You want, try it!
It's a little off topic in this thread, but A2DP work's good with LoveWizard ROM too!
If someone has the package for the A2DP files from the /SYS folder - and know they're good, I'm happy to cook a test rom so we know the kitchen is creating correctly.
Unfortunately, right now all I can do is put up a mix and see what fallout happens...

the ingenetics rom dump is the best a2dp for me (I'm fairly sure you already have it). I'm using the original rom, not anyone's cooked version.
I also think a lot of apps interfere with it (especially cpu heavy ones) and the way it's cooked. for example, farias the real thing was good (but slow and heavy rom) but mfrazzz's reloadeds based on the same rom were not as good.
That's why I've given up flashing and use the naked rom and done each and every regedit manually, because i know it works well and doesn't have a whole bunch of stuff i don't use (even the vanillas were heavy for me)

I am trying the one cooked by mfrazz but A2DP still hisses for me, may I know which headset you are using and if there are any particular settings you changed in the registry for A2DP....
I have also tried Matt's version of Mun's 1314 which seems to be the correct version which has UseJointStereo=1 giving stereo instead of mono but still has the hissing going on.
Just need to know before I settle and go back to Widcomm.. I got a feeling it's my Itechs headset..

Yesterday I've flashed Ingenetics ROM and A2DP support is quite bad for me. Low sound quality, but without hissing, but with speed fluctuation of music. Of course skipping is there too. Another problem is a big usage of program memory. When I listen to the music, I have only 7-10MB of free program memory. And it's not enough.
So I'll try another ROM today and will see.

I am using the Sony DR-BT20NX headset. I changed none of the settings, (actually i changed all of them, over several different flashes, they all made it worse! I have not installed the widcomm stack, and the last time i did so, I don't remember any improvements, but it was a few weeks ago on a wm5 rom) the widcomm stack thread says active sync is not supported and the first page says a2dp untested. Perhaps I gave up on it too soon...
EDIT:I just installed the widcomm stack, terrible, it started skipping/cutting out immediately. uninstalling it helped, deleting the reg keys made no difference and now i'm reflashing

I know but, I don't use either of them. There is a cam fix cab somewhere and mms can be set up (it's the reason ingenetics came to this forum)

I don't know much about quality - I have all my files as wma, lowest quality possible (48Kbps). But I do not get skipping very easily, and certainly a lot less than any other rom (I have not tried the new Faria which Dr P posted, so let us know if it's any good, if you try it, it is based on the same rom and Faria usually makes things work well).
Program memory is no issue for me as I don't use it for music and something else at the same time (if I did, I would be holding it and I don't think that there would be any benefit from using a wireless headset)

Actually I have used the widcomm stack and all you need to do is to overclock to 260Mhz and change some registry keys. Quality is superb on my Itechs but problem is, handsfree doesn't work. Been using this since WM5 but can never use handsfree...

tweaks
Hi,
does anybody tried all of this reg tweak? Is it better (with same ROM) than only with Usejointstereo and Samplerate?

...software/microsoft/bluetooth/a2dp/settings
MaxBitPool = 85
BitPool = 70
SampleRate = 48000
UseJointStereo = 1 (in contrary to WM5 this means real stereo)
Unbelievable awesome Sound! Give it a try.
cheers.

I did. And again it always sounds/performs worse than leaving the rom alone. I have only applied3 or 4 (non a2dp) reg hacks and installed a few things which do not affect sound or bluetooth. The rom is the original ms rom so there is nothing built in to muck it all up

I'm building a test rom now with these settings and a few of the new packages that are out. I'll post it in the kitchen thread for anyone that uses A2DP to try. I'm trying to understand the issue - since half the users say the kitchen works great - the other half says it's missing files or doesn't work worth a crap... makes it hard to provide a solution!

Upgarding the Kaiser Video driver without flashing ROM?

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if its possible to replace an updated or "hacked" version of the Kaiser video driver?
Im currently running Slingplayer (Which I need to use to watch my SlingBox Sky+ on) on my Kaiser but the FPS is terrible, I noticed that there are different ROM's to flash to which will help but I really dont want to flash my ROM if possible....
So is it just possible to replace the video driver and simply do a Soft Reset?
Cheers for any help!
Toilet-Duck
There is no driver currently available apart from a Direct3DM driver that does not do any difference at all (it's not even used).

Flash

I`m trying to run flash player in Opera, with no luck... Do you have any ideas how to do that? Have someone been able to run it in opera?
And I want it, but I think is no way to do this.
All (more or less recent) Opera versions allowed to enable Flash, I guess it's some licensing issues that makes them disable Flash support in all their release versions.
There's a program called "Flash enabler" here on xda, you can try that. It may not work because it modifies opera.ini, and Leo Opera uses the registry to store its settings. The trick is to find out what changes need to be made and make them manually. You'll need a modified axobjects.ini and a couple of tweaks. Looking into the ROM I can see that all needed files are there.

Is anybody or you going to write about the steps providing working flash in Opera?
I gave a suggestion with regard to where to look. I personally don't have an HD2 yet (although I'm using an Opera Mobile 9.7 from a Leo ROM, and it certainly supports flash). Moreover, when I get an Opera with flash support one of the first things I do is disable it. I don't like the thing, although I prefer to have it handy, just in case.
So I'd suggest that you guys look for a solution. I will look into it but only after I get hold of the device myself.
I'm also looking for this info in order to use BBC iplayer but so far to no avail
I don't know if it helps but internet explorer for mobile is flash enabled, but iplayer doesn't work on that... from searching people suggest opera, then I saw a post which linked back here suggesting installing coreplayer.if anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful to know, or even if there's any chance of an iplayer app coming out for wm6.5?
it is easy to run flash in explorer, but i dont like that app (it doesnt have pinch to zoom).. i tryied opera flash fix, but leo isnt oficcialy supported, so i hadnt luck... im not developer, so i cant make any devwork here :-(

Esmertec java

I'm currently running Fireburned's WM 6.5 v3.1 ROM, which i have found to be pretty good overall, far better than the stock 6.0, but i tried to install Meboy 2.2 the other day and could getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException error. looking it up on the internet i found this was because the esmertrc java doesnt support the bluetooth transfer within java: is there any way to update the java program? Is this fixed inside the ROM, or can it be updated from a .cab file?
also i tried to install the MEBoy 1.6 version, which didnt ave any bluetooth features so was unsupported, and this installed fine, but when playing any games the characters flickered on screen, which made it almost unplayable. has anyone else had the same issue/ found a fix?
oh also im using JMEboy right now, again an older version without the bluetooth support. this one doesnt flicker but fails to load the image for certain games, is this because its too low on RAM maybe? its a good emulator otherwise
need a working java cab for meboy 2.2 to work
im hjaving the same problem some people got it work but one share info i been doing alogt googling still aint find a fix i tired every jbed prog i have a sch-i220 in a 8gb memory card can some one help us i wont to play pokemon with sound with memboy 2.2 but i have jbed with working pokemon meboy 1.1 but has no sound on that version only meboy 2.2 suport sound if someone no a working java prog can u please post cab or url
ok so i was now using MEBoy 1.6 today and it worked fine for most of the time, only seemed to flicker for a while after suspending the game
